this is the worst company ever
they don't even deserve one star the people at their company for their customer service are disrespectful and rude and I think they all need to be trained on customer service cuz she was very rude. In this is one of the biggest reasons I'm moving out of the city

Horrible customer service. Recycling hasn t been picked up in three weeks. When I called to speak to someone they said the lid was slightly ajar and that the can wasn t two feet away from the garbage container. When I said the can was slightly ajar due to not being picked up for three weeks the rep said well the can isn t spaced correctly and our workers never get out of the truck it s all automated. You get no where speaking with their customer care team and its a waste of time trying to make any headway with this company.

When we lived on Margaret Street, our recycling service was excellent. Never missed a day, even if they worked really late. Now we live on Minnehaha Ave E. We leave our recycling conveniently located next to the alley at all times, and it hasn't been picked up for weeks. It is overflowing. There have been times that our him and our neighbors have only been partially emptied. I watched once, and it's because they didn't do a complete dump. They quickly lifted it with the arm and you could tell there was more in the can before they even set it down. I hope that something will be done about this. I have read several comments by dissatisfied customers. Is the city wanting us to start throwing our recycling in our Trash? Those companies at least are consistent!

No Stars, what a complete incompetent company hired by St. Paul. Did not pickup my recycling one week and then was overflowing the next. Then had the audacity to tell me that the bin would not be picked up because it was overflowing and lid was up. No kidding, you did not pick it up and drove right by the week before. Now St. Paul wants to hire out all trash removal? So we can have the same incompetence for trash? What a mistake. Eureka, your customer support person Lisa knows all the reasons why they do not pickup, but can not support a why they drive right by and do nothing. I watched as our neighbors bin was dragged to the truck with an open lid from almost 2 house away. Yet my recycling was left on the curb. For years we had the bins the way they have been now they want them perfectly arranged 2 feet apart. Seriously? We have 20 inches of snow to manuever around. Fire this company, they stink.

Just got off the phone with a representative. Reason my recycling hasn't been pick up in 3 weeks cause it's on a hill and can't be automated. Okay I guess I will put everything in the trash don't care either way. Thanks, also when it was pick up like they always left it sitting in the alley. Thank you again for do a great job. Glad we choose to recycle because we are going to choose to just toss everything out.

The guy who drove down my street today in the Nort...

The guy who drove down my street today in the North end of St.paul made more of a mess then what he picked up. He knocked over my trash can and left it tipped over after he got out of the truck to dump the recycling. My whole street looks horrible cans knocked over and left in the middle of the street with recycling all over the street.

Eureka has been nothing but courteous to me in every interaction. They damaged my lawn during one pickup, but took care of it promptly. I forgot to put my bin out during a holiday week where my pickup day was pushed, and they scheduled a pickup for a different day.

I live in St Paul and have had a seamless experience with Eureka doing our pick ups. I prefer the recycling can vs the old way of towing the stuff in paper bags and the smaller bins to the curb. Creates a much neater space at home for sure. I also manage many buildings in St Paul and think Eureka has been very responsive in there efforts to get the new system up and running over the last year. The amount of recycling that gets done in a city like St Paul is a huge task that most take for granted. Keep up the good work!

Terrible reliability with Eureka recycling. This is now the second week in a row recycling has not been collected for icy alley . Garbage collection still continues with no difficulty but somehow Eureka recycling can t seem to manage alley collection in Minnesota in the winter.

Love! Love! Love this place! Not only can you recycle here but you can find some great buys! Plus the free paint can't be beat! The workers are friendly and helpful. Just a great place all the way around!

Just witnessed the Recycling guy knock over two bags From the recycling from my house and left it all over the street. He then proceeded to drive onto the next house in which he droped some of theirs but got out of the truck to pick it up. Not ok. Definitely filing a report.

Eureka Recycling is a great place with such knowledgable people doing the work. I watched a presentation Eureka! made, as I am interested in waste diversion, and was blown away by the expertise and insight Eureka had into recycling in the current context.

Instead of simply leaving us a notice that we can t recycle plastic bags, they emptied out the recycling bag and left them on the floor. They were too lazy to either open the bags or even leave them in the bin. I am a first time recycler, and understand now that we should stop leaving our recyclables in plastic bags. But really? You guys are too lazy to even be respectful and simply leave the bin alone, instead of putting it all over the floor? Horrible service. No wonder you have only a 1.8 rating.

Why I don't support city-wide contracts. They have no incentive to provide proper customer service, because we are required to stay customers. Thanks City of St. Paul. Lisa spent more time trying to blame me for my recycling not picked up 2 weeks in a row than trying to rectify the issue. 1 week was my fault, because clearly I never read the "manual" that I never received which explicitly states that carts must be placed 2 feet apart. We didn't get to hash out whose fault it was for the week before, because she hung up on me.

Lazy and uncooperative. I was told that my recycling bin was 16 inches away from the other can instead of 24 inches. The guy was able to get out and measure the distance between the cans but refused to empty the can. I was then told that I should switch it's spot with my trash can because their guys are picky about can placement. What a great company, glad I have no choice but to pay them with my tax dollars.

Typically we have great experiences with Eureka. I called together a Saturday crew to do a clean out of our warehouse because the website said Eureka on Kennedy St would be open from 8-12. The facility was closed and left us in a frustrating situation. Please update your website to reflect the true hours so businesses can plan ahead on recycling days.

I'm so tired of dealing with this companies excuse...

I'm so tired of dealing with this companies excuses for why they didn't or can't pick up the recycling as they normally do any other time of year, during the winter. It's like their drivers are allergic to the snow! "The tires of the receptacle were covered by snow. Please be sure to have a clear space with 2ft on either side of the receptacle" was the response this time. Seriously? On top of shoveling my driveway and sidewalks? If the trash company can pick up the trash regularly no problem in the same spot, 2ft away from the Eureka bin then I don't understand why you can't!

P.S. Heaven forbid I try to put out anything extra the next week without specific written permission from the mothership!

Like everyone else is saying, it's a different excuse every week for why they can't pick up the recycling. I'm disgusted at the level of service provided to us. Subpar customer service, unreliable and inconsistent. This is the reason why I care less and less about recycling.

They provide recycle service for the city I live in on an inconsistent basis. Terrible service, don't show up occasionally. City nor company refuse to offer any money back for failed pickups (it's practically legalized theft by swindle!). Customer service is hard to get a hold of.

I worked there for a short period. Good people but not the job for me. If you have extras that you would like a driver to take, try to be nice to them. Maybe they'll take it or call in to get the extras approved.

Eureka Recycling is an organization that doesn t g...

Eureka Recycling is an organization that doesn t get it is just due. First, they are a nonprofit waste management company. This is rare, and for the most part, unheard of. Secondly, they also do advocacy for reducing waste and essentially saving the planet. I think it is rare to find a company doing the work they are doing at such a high level. To advocate for something on multiple levels like they do, and still provide an essential service. They often take on more prominent corporations, with significantly more substantial budgets, in hopes of saving the environment. In many of the reviews on Google, I see complaints about this origination, but I think people fail to understand all the things this company does. Especially in times like the one we are facing, their employees still risk their well-being to serve the community. I commend this place for the work they do and would give them 100 stars if I could do so.

Ive had my recycling container one foot off from the curb edge and i learned its not allowed and that they are too lazy to accomodate that distance, its been two weeks now and still waiting to be recycling, been windy today and the wind took some of it for them, sorry for the mess my neighbors, maybe Eureka will do a neighboorhood clean up as there services need improvements!

Horrible customer service and drivers! This is the second week in a row that the driver just didn't bother to take away our recycling. We called customer service (extremely rude by the way with screaming children in the background) and was told three different excuses for not picking up. ALL of which weren't true. If I would have known this service was this bad, I probably wouldn't have purchased this home. :(

Eureka's commitment to a waste free Saint Paul is inspiring. We have had nothing but positive experiences with them. Even the transition to larger carts has gone smoothly - they haven't missed a single pickup from our house. Also, love the larger carts, we barely use our trash bin since we reuse as much as possible and try to only buy recyclable products. Super glad we have Eureka!

Pretty much the worst ever of anything. They know you have to use them as there are no other options and they are forced on you by the government. Good luck even talking to someone on customer service. It has now been 4 weeks and my recycling hasn't been picked up.

Terrible service. Didn t pick up one week because there was too much snow yet the garbage was picked up. I moved it to another spot and they drive right by. I called customer service and after being on hold 10 mins was just told sorry try next week. Ridiculous

This week, Priscilla Villa-Watt and Kat Lund from Eureka Recycling joined our virtual class meeting. Priscilla is the Advocacy Manager and Kat is the Director of Community Engagement. Eureka is one of four non-profit recyclers in the United States. They collect recycling for St. Paul, Lauderdale, Shoreview, and Roseville and have seven different material recycling facilities. This is rare because in a lot of other cities, especially large cities, there are only one or two material recycling facilities. They keep about 90% of the materials they collect, which is 450 tons per day or 100,000 tons per year. They are passionate about holding manufacturers responsible for the products they make and advocating for extended producer responsibility laws such as the break free from plastics pollution act and the zero waste act. They also have an app for smartphones that has an index that tells you what you can and cannot recycle, which I think is very useful and convenient. It is beneficial for everyone to understand recycling procedures in their region and I think Eureka Recycling is doing very important work in the Twin Cities.

My recycling containers have not been emptied in a month. This is the second time in 2019 that my neighborhood has gone over a month without a pickup. My tenants are having to take their recycling elsewhere to clear it out of their house. I will be filling a complaint with the city of St Paul, and I will not stop until we have a different recycling company.

I had excellent service until pick-up day was rescheduled to Friday. If I placed my bin at the street, it was missed. If I switched to placing it at the alley, it was missed. Finally, we reached some sort of compromise and my recycling was pretty much regularly picked up when I placed it at the alley. For the past month it has been missed twice, despite being put out the night before collection. This time my bin was full, so now I have had to place lots of extra stuff on the ground, next to the bin. We will see if they bother to get out of the truck to pick up the extra stuff that would have fit in the bin if they had emptied it last week.

Have always had great experience with them. Of course, we never put plastic bags in the cart and make sure the lid can always close. We prefer the cart to the old method of bins and paper bags, there was always stuff blowing down the street with the old method.

Over a month ago, I asked Eureka to switch me from a large container to small. Even though I recycle everything, a small container is great for a one-person household. They dropped of the small but didn t pick up the large container. Since February (it s now April) I ve called nearly every week, and they promise to pick up, but it is still here. I don t have an alley so the large container sits in front of my house like a big sore thumb.
In the meantime, Aspen Waste also switched out containers while picking up the trash boom! it was done.
I work for government so I hate it when private industry outstrips us so seriously in efficiencies and customer service. St. Paul needs to hold their contractor more accountable these shenanigans makes government look bad.

I have never had any issues with my recycling picked up in St. Paul. There were a few weeks they couldn't get to my bin because of feet of snow. I don't blame them and I had room in my cart so I could wait. I appreciate that they focus on reducing waste not just recycling. I also like how they support their workers - pay them well and let them be in a union.

I would give zero starts if I could! Our pick up had been delayed. They finally came today. Not only did they not pick up the extra card board boxes (it is the Saturday after Christmas and everyone seems to have extra recycling) they did not completely empty our container; therefore, it is still half full and we have to wait another week (maybe more since they don't come when they are supposed to). I am so sick of city wide recycling and trash. The service is horrible.

Recycling hasn't been picked up from the bin, next to the garage in the alley, for 3 weeks. I'm told they won't pick up unless there are two feet of clearance around the bin and it's all shoveled out. I'm wondering if they'd want a ribbon and flowers decorating the damn thing, too. This was never a problem before the current city rules around garbage and recycling. Prices go up and service goes down. Awful.

Highly unreliable service. It s a complete crapshoot as to whether recycling will get picked up. Our garbage is collected on the same day reliably so I don t understand what the issue is. The city needs to terminate Eurekas contract and find another vendor
