I did wait on hold for 10 minutes, but they were helpful. Website is also pretty easy to navigate. For some reason, it still doesn't feel like a very professional company. Maybe because they don't have an automated voice on the answering machine, rather an employees voice.

This company isn't exactly what I'd call business friendly. Recently tried to reach them to confirm ownership of a stock without success. A call to them results in a lengthy digital message. Eventually you wind up holding in a vain attempt to reach a human, gave up twice after running out of patience. Their web site sign up wouldn't allow me to complete the process, no luck there either. What a freaking joke... wonder if they really exist?

Trying to move my money and there is very little help and getting someone on the phone to help is next to impossible. I tried getting online before and accessing the account was also very difficult. I would recommend finding another company to handle ESPPs

Tried to log in to their website many, many times over the past 3 days and keep getting error messages. Called customer several times and waited in queue for more than 50 minutes to talk to a rep -- finally just gave up -- never was able to reach anyone. Sent two emails and have received no response. Also tried to use the chat feature without success. What customer service? There doesn't appear to be any.

Incredibly terrible service. Their website sometimes won't let you log in for long periods of time. Some operations (e.g. stock conversions) deduct from restricted stock, but never show anything else, might not ever finish, and if you call them they might tell you it made another account that someone may eventually call you back about to merge back into your main account. Bad processes, bad website, bad at communicating. If you have any choice about it (which you might not), avoid this company.

Lame. Website navigation must be from the mid 90's. Call customer service, says high call volume but will get to me, after 12 mins on hold they say they can't take the call right now. Go to live chat. No one available for live chat. Does anyone really work at this place? No wonder the reviews suck. If I could give zero stars I would have. They don't deserve 1 star.

I had my share certificates and all the correct paperwork and sent them off to Amstock after Dell unlisted and now nearly a year later I still have not received my money. Not sure who uses cheques as a payment method anymore, its so arcade and it just opens Amstock up to fraud cases.
I must have sent 15 - 20 emails with a stock standard reply we will get back to you within 48 - 72 hours and heaven forbid anyone getting back to you sooner even after a year of begging to change the payment method of a cheque.
I live in South Africa and our postal system is non existent. Surely an EFT is a secure enough payment system??
I suggest anyone trying to get stock shares paid out to them should do a lot more homework before dealing with American Stock Transfer Company. Don't try phoning the call center as that does not get answered.

I just hope that by sending this message, someone in the company will help with my situation as I cannot get past the call/ response centre.

This company.....man, I would rather deal with the...

This company.....man, I would rather deal with the devil. Took forever to get the forms to transfer stock from Mom(deceased)to me(Personal Representative). Got the forms and got all the paperwork signed including both notary signatures and medallion signatures, filled out all the forms and sent all in including death certificate in their envelope....and guess what, they claimed they never received it. Trying to get anyone to respond by phone(on hold for ever..finally hung up)or e mail(not helpful and slow)was equally frustrating. So, now I will start the process all over again. Wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience?

Well I did start the process again....and the person I got made it happen...finally...got the forms...sent everything back(medallion signatures AND notarized signatures too!) and got the stock transferred
into my name.

I wish that I could give negative stars!!!! This is insanely ridiculous. I cannot get anyone on the phone. I have tried for 2 weeks. Emailed. Everything. Calling BBB. Has anyone figured out how to get a human??

If I could rate 0 stars I would. I've held stock (Adams Express Diversified Fund) since 1997. Sold it in 2017 along with stocks from a totally different brokerage. The other brokerage sent me the necessary cost basis information that the government required all brokers to track since 2012 for the purchases made through DRPs, cash purchases, etc. AST's website said I had to email them to request cost basis. I did that and waited five business days (per their automated response) but never received anything back. Called them on the 7th business day and got their voicemail system which said they'd call back. Two days later they called me back, but when I told them I needed the cost basis for my shares they said all my shares were "non-covered lots". BS. Covered lots were 2012 and AFTER due to the law change. Non-covered was prior to 2012. Suddenly they changed their tune after I explained the legality of it and promised to send me the cost basis information. Another 2-3 days passed and I got a secure email attachment that required registration with some 3rd party to get it. Guess what? Link and registration don't work. I already filed and calculated my own cost basis manually. Too late.

I'm glad I'm out of this company. I can't imagine having to have [tried] dealing with me if I had stayed in and sold partial shares.

Their website, live chat, and their menu tree when calling leaves a lot to be desired which is an understatement!). After 40 minutes on various holds today, I'm no closer to having my questions answered. Yesterday I did actually get to talk with a live person, and he was very helpful. But I felt sorry for him in the convoluted-ness of their processes. Also - in order to sell any stocks, you need to get a Medallion Signature Guarantee. How archaic. On Computershare and Well Fargo, you can do that online. Why any public company would want to use AST for their shareowners services is beyond me!! I would HIGHLY recommend any public company seeking to outsource their shareowner services to use either Computershare or Well Fargo. Your investors will be a lot more satisfied!!

I'm on the phone now for my second of two lengthy holds to wait for my turn to speak to an operator. The first time the rep was rude and cut me off instead of transferring me to the right person for assistance. Folks, it's not that hard; train people to be polite and teach them how to make a transfer without dropping a caller. I've spend thirty minutes on the line just waiting for the opportunity to speak to someone.

Is anyone home? I have tried for over a week to reach someone in this company and to no avail? I cannot access my account, use their live chat feature, I've sent emails and no one responds. I've remained in a perpetual hold on the phone for approximately 20 minutes and no one answers nor am I prompted to leave a voicemail. I need tax papers from this company to provide my accountant - help!?

After receiving a Notice of Unclaimed Property from AST I called the number on the notice. I listened to a long and detailed message with instructions that sent me to their website or offered to connect me to a human. Even after reading these reviews I opted to go on hold. Honestly, I was on hold only about 3 minutes! The woman who answered was professional, courteous and efficient. Researched the issue and discovered that I had an unclaimed/uncashed check for $95. She is reissuing the check and I should have it within a week! Maybe 2018 brings better service from AST, certainly I was treated well. Good Luck!

Absolutely miserable service. Taking months to get our money out of there. I just discovered that their own published documents don't require all the blocks they've been putting along the way. Still working on it.

Incredibly misleading, confusing, and unwilling to...

Incredibly misleading, confusing, and unwilling to help. Every time I have called, I've received different answers, different help, and altogether have gotten close to nothing done. I started the process of selling over two months ago and due to they poor guidance and advice I've become trapped in a mess of paperwork and waiting because their staff can't manage a simple problem. I understand that selling, transferring, and purchasing stocks is not supposed to be easy, but the complete disorganization and lack of consistent information is an issue that could and should be easily resolved within the company and their management. I'm not expecting perfection, but I was hoping to at least avoid having a customer service representative tell me there was nothing they could do, before even listening to or understanding my circumstances. They were polite enough, but every time I have called I have received new steps and being told I was wrong. I have sent numerous packages to their office with handwritten letters to prove my identity, copies of all requested documentation, and still have yet to have made any progress. There is now a chance that I may not receive any of the funds I desperately need, and I am extremely frustrated and stressed. I would avoid going through AST at all costs if you don't have hours upon hours to dedicate to figuring out their mess.

These people are unethical & should not be in business. Twice was given fake tracking numbers on a check that was never mailed. Everybody you talk to you will give you a different answer to your question, nobody knows what they are doing (and if they do, they are purposely & illegally holding on your money)

The ABSOLUTE worst transfer agent. New website is awful. MOST of the companies listed as having DIP or DRIP plans have NEITHER. Navigation is a joke. And this is their NEW website! Mobile navigation NOT POSSIBLE. Many dead ends and 404 errors. Forget about calling. Definitely will be a waste of time. Hold music all staticky. 1980's experience. FAIL

Absolutely horrible customer service to go with an extremely user unfriendly website. I occasionally get surveys from companies that use AST's services and I will be sure to reflect my level of dissatisfaction in the next one.

Takes forever to get through to anyone on the phone. Website can be difficult to log on to or navigate and they insist on sending out paper for lots of transactions leaving you with lots to shred.

Worst company in existance. Awful customer support. Be prepared to wait 45 minutes before you talk to a customer service. Then be prepared to be so frustrated. Happens every time I call. Can't wait for this company go out of business.
