Nightmare. We sat down with what we knew should have been a routine transfer of ownership. Instead it took an hour and we still hadn't gotten any closer to finishing. We couldn't understand him. We sat there asking what he was doing. He said that ICBC computer was down... and nothing else. We had to keep asking questions to get anything out of him. How long? What's going on? How's it going? People in line left out of frustration. We were committed so stayed. It was on Sunday, and he ended up calling another co worker and going through screen after screen on the ICBC system getting help..tap, tap, tap, staring down at the computer.. tap, tap. mumble, mumble.. I thought there may have been a hidden camera somewhere.. like a joke... then he said the ICBC system was down. He told us to come back on Monday to finish. Totally useless and waste of our time.... yeh right... we left and went to another ICBC centre and they completed the same transfer... in 10 minutes flat. I would never recommend going to Hicks Insurance.

Second year in a row such bad service and understaffed. Won't be here next year

Incredibly unprofessional service. Run from these brokers!
I have phoned and sent emails to their representatives asking for them to outline the process of cancelling car insurance. Someone called back and told me they would get the info reach me ASAP. Heard nothing. I emailed again asking the same questions and received an email from a different representaive with no information! at this point even if they answered my questions I wouldn't trust the validity of the response. Go elsewhere

Steve is the best, always very helpful and knows his stuff, definitely recommend this place!

It took Harinder over an hour to transfer and insure my new motorbike :( woulda preferred to be outside killin bugs in the sunshine instead.

Edit: however, they did help me amend my policy to add the million dollar liability insurance on storage required by my strata.

Nice, easy and efficient. I'm always renewing my insurance at the last minute and they're great at accommodating me. I've gone there 4 times so they're doing something right :)

I went to get temporary insurance on one of my two Motorcycles.
He insured the wrong bike. He insured the bike that had 12 months of auto plan on it already.
So when I hit all the way to where I needed to pick up the bike, it had no insurance on it.
I handed him the registration that says BLACK bike.
He insured the RED bike.
Kind pissed at this one

I called Hicks today and talked to Steve, he was a great help, fast and efficient. I have been going here on and off for years. Steve is the guy to see, he has been there for a very long time.

Steve is a great guy, he was able to answer all my questions and informed me on things I did not know. He is very knowledgeable, friendly and approachable! Highly recommended if you want someone fast and efficient for car insurance!

Very quick and easy renewal over the phone. Moros was extremely helpful and professional. I'll definitely be renewing with them next year

Convenient location, friendly service and they're fast. It's nice that they also accept American Express for payments.

I went to them for collision/comprehensive coverage for a motorcycle.
The service was very quick. They were able to expedite getting a quote from a private insurance provider so I could have the insurance effective same day. This was my first time getting private insurance and they were very knowledgeable and able to answer all my questions.

Very professional service. It opens late in Downtown Vancouver.

I felt bad that the 1-star review was the only one considering I had a good experience here, as it did make me hesitate about coming here. However, I also did a vehicle transfer with Stephen, the manager, and he was very professional. The transfer did take 45 minutes, but that included me getting my insurance and a call to ICBC. Stephen explained to the seller how she could keep her plates (the other dealer was going to make her turn them in), and went through everything very thoroughly with me. His shop uses a checklist to make sure they don't forget everything. Sure, it might not be the quickest, but the confidence I felt that everything was done right was worth it.
