Very happy with the work that was done. Dennis showed up on time and had everything needed to replace an improperly installed dryer vent. He also cleaned up the lint in the back of my dryer and the space it vented into. I would definitely use them again.

A wonderful experience. April and Jesus were an absolute pleasure to have in our home for our inspection. They are thoughtful, professional and efficient and kept our place clean. I really appreciated that I was kept informed of their process throughout the inspection and that they explained things to me in a way I would understand so that I could make informed decisions. The whole thing was an pleasant and zero-pressure process. I would recommend them to anyone.

Charged my 84 year old Grandmother close to $200.00 for showing up. Spent about 15 minutes looking at the chimney yet somehow missed the fact that the chimney needs repair (obvious gap in pipe) or replacement.
Overpriced. Incompetent. A complaint to the BBB is coming down their chimney tonight.

I submitted an online appointment request thru their website. Over a week later, I got an automated email stating that they were very busy and unable to respond to online requests, and that I should call instead. I called and no one answered. I left a voicemail and never recieved a call back. I took my business elsewhere.

Dennis, with American Chimney & Masonry (AC&M), did an awesome job on replacing our old gas fireplace and oak surround, and recessing a new fireplace into the existing stone column. When we bought the house, there was a huge, ugly, woodstove "perched" on a 12'-high stone platform, and vented into the stone column/chimney, and there were rainwater leaks in coming from around the chimney. Originally we removed the stone platform and had a cabinetmaker build an oak surround and mantel, with a gas fireplace installed in the "cabinet." This was "better" than the woodstove, but still protruded into, and narrowed, the room by 18". After Dennis had completed his stone and tilework, we had: reclaimed the 18" of room width; had a new, updated gas fireplace; and added a much more contemporary look to the room. Additionally, Liz, Julie, and everyone else at AC&M were a delight to work with, on time, and on budget! We had such positive experiences with these folks, that we decided to have the external masonry completely re-flashed, resealed, and waterproofed. We could not be more pleased with the professionalism and work ethic of Dennis and everyone we communicated with at AC&M. Thanks to you ALL!

Arrived right on time and Dennis was very thorough with minimal mess. He was able to remove 6 feet of sheetrock and pull a new pipe through the sill to the basement. The dryer vent he replaced/installed works great. Very knowledgeable.

Their considerable experience showed in examining a truly difficult problem that we had: hard to detect water leak around the chimney. The guys were personally engaged in our problem, approached everything very professionally and thoroughly.

American Chimney rebuilt my entire chimney last summer. It was a busy summer for me and for their staff, and due to this, the scope of work was a bit confused, and the actual workmanship itself was very poor (done by a newbie with the company). But, this review is about the quality of service the company provided after these mishaps.

I'm a single mom on a budget and could only spend my money once. I was SO upset with the work done. However, Jamison and the owner came out to look at the job. They were AMAZING. They 100% agreed that the shape of the chimney as it had been reconstructed was completely not right - it did not match the original profile of the trapezoidal chimney and the brick color on the crown (the part of above the roof?) did not match the body of the rest of the chimney.

They agreed to redo the entirety of the job, including some poor work that their original mason had done grouting the seam between the chimney and the house. The re-reconstruction was done all on their own dime, within a week. The new mason who came out - an old hand from their business - did an EXCEPTIONAL job. The chimney is absolutely lovely.

In addition, they agreed to tuck point the chimney for about 33% of the actual cost of that job (essentially, what I could afford within the rest of my budget), because of miscommunication in the scope (I had thought the tuck pointing was in the rebuild scope, when in reality I'd signed a scope of work that agreed to something else entirely - a rebuild that only pertained to the crown and the interior of the chimney, fixing some original construction issues from the 1920s). The tuckpointing, too, was marvelous. My chimney looks so beautiful now.

In short, I cannot say enough about the integrity and compassion of this company. They 100% owned their mistakes and the confusion in the scoping and solved the problem so well. I would rehire them any day, on any job. Thank you, American Chimney!!

How lucky we were to find American Chimney & Masonry! When our chimney sweep informed us that our old chimney wasn't code because it wasn't lined, we were surprised. We got a couple of bids, and American Chimney's was much lower. We were a bit worried that it would be a messy, loud, disruptive project. Not at all! Jake, Mr. Personality, appeared at our door on the designated day, explained the whole process, and he and Dennis and Travis did just that...with professionalism, thoroughness, friendliness and fun. They did an excellent job.

To be fair, we have not yet done the actual chimney repair work so I cannot review that part of the work. However, Adam Reich came out here to review our situation since we are currently experiencing massive water leaks and damage, after we put a brand new roof on in May. The roofing company tries to blame it on the chimney. Of course, it's in the chimney's companies' interest to go along with this assessment as it'll provide them with work. Adam was the first person who gave an honest assessment that included both what needed to be done with the chimney AS WELL AS what portion of the damage is likely being caused by the roof. He was professional, knew what he was talking about, backed his information up by showing us proof of what he said, was willing to put that information in a report for us, then wrapped the chimney up with cling wrap as a temporary band aid, free of charge, climbing onto our roof in the rain. He was beyond exceptional and based on this experience, we have decided to choose American chimney over other chimney companies to do our repair work.

Good communication, on time, pleasant, and thorough. The only downside to my experience was the cost. The price seemed a little high compared to the last time I had my chimney inspected and cleaned.

I have used American Chimney for 15 years to clean our chimney and insert a wood stove. They have always done a decent job. Recently, I had a dispute with them on fees charged for some new fire bricks. At first their operations manager refused to make any adjustment. I had a great experience with American Chimney. I had them convert my gas fireplace back to burning wood. After many years of burning gas the there were some updates that needed to take place. American Chimney and Masonry just did a FANTASTIC job taking down a 130-year-old chimney on my Victorian office building. The building's roof is very steep, the chimney was four stories in the air, and I have tenants and neighbors who are very attentive to every bit of noise and mess that is created by any construction. The work performed by Jason and Jake of American Chimney was fast, clean, quiet...and beautiful! They not only removed the decaying chimney, but they installed a solid patch on the roof that perfectly matches the existing roofing and roof line. What's more, they did this work in less time than they anticipated, and for a very reasonable price. I just can't sing their praises loudly enough. Bravo, American Chimney and Masonry! Jesus was very thorough and professional. He cleaned the chimney and the inside of the stove, and cleaned up afterward. He did a thorough inspection of our 30 year old brick chimney, including pictures and climbing on our steep roof. Afterward, Jesus sent us an email which included pictures and explanation for the work completed.He promised to provide us with a proposal for chimney repairs that might qualify for Homeowners Insurance coverage.

I needed both the fireplace chimney and the furnace chimney replaced. They tore down both, rebuilt the fireplace chimney and put in a B vent for the furnace. It only took a total of 3 days and they did a fantastic job. The B vent looks like it was always there, and the new chimney is beautiful. The clean up was spotless. I know the value of the house has increased because of their outstanding work.

Dennis did a great job in cleaning out birds from our chimney and putting on a cap to prevent problems in the future. He explained what was needed and showed the entire length of the chimney using his video camera. He kept everything clean while he was working. We needed a chimney cleaning and had a recommendation so decided to go with American Chimney. They sent someone out they spent less than a hour or close to it. When he finished he told us we needed the back wall re bricked and it would be about 1500 $ he tried to get it to schedule the appointment but it sounded fishy so we hesitated. Then we received a invoice for the job the man had done for cleaning of 265. Most places charge around 150. So after speaking with several other chimney places( for rates and fees ect) i gave the manger a call to speak with her about the unfairness of their services she was extremely rude but finally agreed to drop 100 off of the bill. Now the best part!! we called a different company to give us another inspection after this had happened to address the brick issue. Surprise !! there was no need to replace the bricks. DO NOT FALL FOR THEIR LIES. GET A SECOND OPINION OR QUOTE.

High tech efficiency. American Chimney is everything that you could possibly want in a chimney service company. The service provided to me far exceeded my expectations. They arrived when they said they would, were very thorough, and answered all of my questions. They were more than willing to educate me on chimneys and fireplaces, but I also get the impression that they would have just done the cleaning job quickly, without the chatter, had I wanted that. I was able to see the obvious results of the chimney cleaning, and the cleaning process was not very invasive.

All of that being said, they behaved with an honesty and integrity that I have rarely found.

I have worked with American Chimney and Masonry twice now. Once to repair my chimney and the other to install a gas fireplace. On both occasions they did fantastic professional work. Other local companies gave me highball quotes to demolish and rebuild the chimney completely. Because of this American Chimney was less expensive as they found that the full demo was not necessary. They did quality work, were always on time and I am very satisfied. Steve, the GM is very professional and ensures that his workers are licensed and certified and everyone that I've interacted with is very professional. Dennis did an excellent job with the Gas furnace. I'm glad that I have had the experience of working with them. They are an A+ outfit in my book.

American Chimney did an excellent job cleaning, water sealing, and installing rain caps on both of our chimneys. We worked with Shawn and he was very thorough in his initial inspection and showing us what the options were for treating our chimneys. He did a great job power washing our very dirty chimneys, and they look like new! The rain caps also look great and will keep out rain and debris (we had nothing up there before).

We had used another local business previously for our fireplace maintenance but were unable to reach them this year. I saw one of the American Chimney trucks in the neighborhood (turns out the owners live very close to us), looked at the online reviews and decided to give it a shot.

The appointment was easy to book online, the reminder call and email the day before were as expected, and Dennis was even early! He was very personable and good with our animals (who were doing their best to distract him) and got the routine stuff done as well as fixing a small problem with our flame. He was here a bit longer than he probably planned due to our flame issue but did a great job and hopefully isn't behind in his day now.

Would definitely recommend this company and felt that the price for an every 2 years service call for routine maintenance was acceptable. Not much more than the last company charged. Dennis was neat and orderly, left things clean and tidy and was very professional and personable. We look forward to seeing him back in 2021!!!

We have utilized American Chimney & Masonry for several years. Their service is top of the line. They clean our wood stove chimney annually as well as the wood stove. They have repaired our chimney on the fireplace as well as keeping the stove pipe in great shape. I recommend them without hesitation.

I am a Real Estate agent and I always recommend that buyers have their chimney inspected as part of their due diligence, but too few do. This time my buyer said let's do it and we had Shawn out to inspect. He thoroughly inspected the inside and outside of the fireplace & chimney, alerting us to needed maintenance that we are now able to pass on to the sellers. They rebuilt my chimney four years ago for thousands of dollars. This year they told me I should not use my fireplaces because there is no flue. So basically they built a whole chimney over a useless fireplace. Do not use these folks. Now they will not service my fireplaces because they are unsafe. Totally unethical.

I was selling my house and needed a quote FAST for an inspection addendum. Not only did they come out and give me a quote the next day, but they were able to fix it as well! Now that is great service. They were recommended to me and I would certainly use and recemmend them again.
