My chimney needed to be completely torn down and rebuilt. The team at American Masonary & Chimney did a wonderful job. Their services are not cheap but neither is their work. Any time I called with questions, I was treated with respect and consideration. The job took a week to complete. The team skillfully paid attention to detail, worked relentlessly and cleaned up the work area every evening. The finished product looks terrific. I would recommend them to anyone who wants a quality job done right!

Our technician was very professional. Arrived on time, took care to protect the floor and left the job clean. He was able to get our gas fireplace and fan up and running quickly. American Chimney & Masonry installed counter flashing on and around the chimney of our house after the installation of new shingles by a roofing contractor. (The roof itself is fairly high and steeply pitched.) The chimney is located in the center of the house. The general manager, Steven Pietila, scrambled up to the chimney and took photos with his iPad. After climbing down, he told me he would review the job with his team because it was more involved than many due to the various junctures of the chimney with the roof. A day later his estimate arrived and the work was scheduled. Installing the counter flashing required two installers, Jake and his co-worker. They completed the job in an afternoon, and it appears to have required quite a lot of metal. The finished work looks impressive. The entire process was straightforward, from Steven's inspection and estimate, communication from Liz in the office, to the installation itself. I think American Chimney is well organized, with knowledgeable, skilled, efficient employees.

We needed work done on our garage's masonry wall. Steven came out to give an estimate and we had him inspect the chimney while he was here. We weren't expecting to do work on the chimney, but he took several photos that showed the deterioration of the bricks that we couldn't really see from the ground. The photos made it clear he wasn't just trying to sell us unnecessary work. He gave us a menu of options that we could choose from, and when I emailed questions about the work, he was very helpful in several follow-up messages.

Dennis did a good job on our wall and chimney, and with the clean-up, which was important because he had to work partly from our neighbor's driveway. He explained what was going on and recommended chimney caps which we decided to install.

One area for improvement would be coordination between the estimator and person doing the work. Steven had a typographical error in the estimate which caused confusion for Dennis. I had cleared up the error with Steven by email, but that clarification never was given to Dennis. We got it figured out, but it was a confusing start to the job.

Overall, we are so far very satisfied.

American Chimney was great -- thanks again to Dennis, Julie, and Liz for making the process as seamless as possible. The installation of our gas insert fireplace was quick and easy. They were also very patient and flexible when there was a delay in completing the job because of another project on the house. I highly recommend American Chimney!

American Chimney did a great job from the initial inspection through job completion. I had them tuckpoint, replace flashing and apply water repellent to the exterior of the chimney. They also installed a flue liner, parged smooth the throat between the firebox and liner, and installed a new damper cap for a wood burning fireplace. In addition to all that, they replaced a gas burning fireplace in the basement with a new direct vent gas insert - new liner, new cap and custom sheet metal work. All the different crews were easy to communicate with and dedicated to quality work. Dennis, Martin, Jason, Jake, Julie... thanks so much!

Our wooddfired oven at the RIdge Grill has a very tall stainless steel chimney and American Chimney that is not easy to clean. American Chimney does a great job of getting it clean. They are very professional and do it right.

The whole experience was easy and wonderful, from the great customer service we received on the phone to our technician and masons. Dennis was very knowledgeable and gave us plenty of time to ask questions and walk us through the process of fixing our chimney. Both masons who came out were friendly, efficient, and cleaned up so well- such an easy process! Would definitely recommend.

Sean and Jesus arrived on time. They were pleasant, professional, and polite. They did their inspection and took photos of the inside of my woodstove chimney. They said I didn t necessarily need the chimney cleaned at this time, as the photos looked good. This is the 3rd or 4th year I have used this company and I have always been pleased. I would definitely recommend using them.

The office staff was helpful - I was called the day before the appointment and they sent me the permit.

My chimney was in rough shape, the crown was deteriorating, the brick was absorbing water and the mortar was falling out. The brick inside the house was accumulating salts and efflorescence due to the moisture being absorbed. These folks came out and fixed everything in a timely manner, at a reasonable price and the finished product is excellent. The young man that did the work was very personable and professional, taking pride in a job well done. The brick was sealed with a high end sealer and this winter there is no sign of moisture in the house. I highly recommend this company.
