I'd like the ability to give ratings on specific issues, because the three star rating I have given to Aloft Milwaukee Downtown is in no way indicative of the level of service I was provided as a guest. If I were reading service alone, this locating would warrant five stars, no questions asked. That being said, my three star rating is given based primarily on our room. We had a "King Suite" during our stay. Having patronized many many hotels over the years, I have come to expect that a "King Suite" means, a king sized bed and some other form of furniture that typically serves as additional sleeping spot for additional guests. This was not the case with our room, 3001 and the identical room, 4001, just above ours that our friends stayed in. Each room had a king sized bed, a small bench (not sleepable for an adult) and an adjoining room with two very small chairs and a full sized table with 4 metal chairs. This additional room made no sense.... not just for our group, but would serve no purpose for most travelers. Upon asking, the only available option was a small inflatable mattress for children. Circling back to my three star rating....on account of the impeccable service, I would stay at Aloft Milwaukee Downtown again. I will change my rating to 4 or 5 stars if this location will equip their Suites with an alternative sleeping option for additional guests.
Very eclectic atmosphere! Super friendly and helpful staff! Clean room, linens, facilities. Standard noon checkout was a plus! Amazing location, right on the river, walking distance from at least 25-30 bars and/or restaurants, probably twice that amout! Great value for this hotel, also pet friendly with no additional cleaning fees! Highly recommended!!!!
Nice hotel, loved the games in the lobby. Pool is open 24 hours!
Large clean comfortable well designed rooms. Modern building. No self parking. Location ok.
I just want to start out by saying that the customer service was incredible! The staff was so friendly and accommodating.
For what we payed, the quality of everything was not good. The coffee was disgusting, the bed and pillows were not comfortable, the soap in the shower smelled like McDonalds hand soap, the phone in the room didn't work, and everything just felt so cheap. This is a bummer, because we payed a lot of money to stay here for the night and I left feeling tired and in need of a shower. Also, It was not made clear that this was a pet friendly hotel and those of us staying there are allergic to animals. I see now that they have that on their website, but you would need to scroll a bit to see.
Just disappointed because this place has the potential to be great as they have amazing staff.
I come here with my friends. we spend some time in this hotel and make special moments. rooms were so comfort, neat and clean. we feel fantastic.staff was very cooperative. food was amazing. thanks guys for this comfort zone. give you 5 stars.
Service was very good from front desk, bar, room service. Clean, beautifully decorated hotel. Noise from cars on the bridge loud (we was informed about it at the front desk, but chose river view anyway) next time I will take room with no view. Only one complaint about the room- no towel ruck at the sink.
Loud street noise. Parking is a hassle. Have to choose either valet ($30/day) or use an app that isn't very reliable and have to park blocks away. No maid service even after calling front desk twice.
I would recommend this hotel to anyone. Camille is an asset to this hotel and very friendly. The hotel was very clean and quiet
Total professionals
My wife got a great deal, which unexpectedly landed us at Aloft. The overall vibe of the 5-story hotel is hip, trendy, and young, three words which obviously don't apply to me. The few young folks we encountered were polite and friendly, including the bachelorette party wearing small black dresses and carrying an inflatable man-unit (which I expected to be much larger). The valet was nice when I refused his $27 services (with unlimited in and out, mind you), as I'm a cheapskate and parked on a nearby street for free. I interacted twice with the lovely young lady at the front desk, once at check-in, and later at check-out. She explained the debit card hold process very knowledgeably, and found a band-aid for me as we left. The room was comfortable and trendy, with free wifi capable of streaming sports programs like boxing, and other amenities one would expect. The only negatives were a rather boisterous AC unit, and some street/car/pedestrian noise, which a hotel downtown can't really control on a rockin' Saturday night, especially when it's so conveniently located near all of the happening nightlife. It was nice, we had fun.
Clean room with a large shower and modern decor. The room contained two free bottles of water, the ability to easily connect electronics to the TV, and plenty of outlets. Valet parking and a modern bar made this hotel a good place to stay.
The hotel was ok but the staff was phenomenal. They made our stay. Everyone was so nice and accommodating. We were first greeted by the valet. She was so welcoming. And all of the front desk staff were friendly, helpful, and professional.
Great staff. Clean and modern rooms. Had a downtown view.
The stay was okay. However they double charged me. I have called a total of 4 times trying to get my money only to get the run around. I have been told multiple things that end up not being true. And the worst part is... I STILL HAVE NOT RECEIVED MY REFUND! Not only will me and my wife not be staying here again but we will no longer consider this franchise for service. People who spend there money wisely should be cautious if our story is an indication of how this company is running there business. It maybe only be 227 dollars to them but that s good money to me and my family. Please consider elsewhere.
Conveniently located next to the river walk. 20 mins from airport. Walking distance to bars and restaurants.
The hotel was clean and kind of stylish, but still felt a little bit dated. Also as a upgrade to a suite, they just gave me a room attached to one of the general purpose conference rooms.
The location is great, right in the middle of the downtown area. It's close to the law school, the Bradley Center, and Water Street. The rooms are pretty good. I like that they have the soad and shampoo in the shower and not in the tiny bottles. What I don't like about the rooms is the lighting. It has those harsh lights, it's always too bright. Also with the lights, when you turn on the bathroom light, the bedroom us pretty bright. It's fine if you're alone, but sharing a room with someone who wants to sleep, it stinks. It's very modern, almost trying too much in my opinion. I suggest parking your own car. They charge 27 to valet it to the lot which costs 10, and is a block away.
Room was quite nice. Wifi was included. Breakfast, however, was extra so only 4 stars from me.
For the price, it is a very nice hotel. Great location. Great option if you aren't looking to break the bank
Got a room where the air condition did not work. Mentioned to the front desk the first day I was here, and they check the room but did nothing else to correct the situation. Glad it was fall, but the room was still to o hot. Also asked for a quiet room and they put me in the 2nd floor right above the main street right and a construction site right across from my room, so it was crazy load as the windows did not filter any sound out.
The rest of the hotel is OK.
The hotel atmosphere was casual and clean. Very friendly staff and nice clean rooms. Comfortable beds and nice views of the river. No breakfast included but good choices to purchase or add to room bill
Aloft was a great modern style hotel. Excellent staff at the front desk and valet service. Would come here again
Worst hotel ever. Paper thin walls, drunk, loud and obnoxious parties til all hours of the night. Bar and workout room is a joke.
It was an overall nice experience. The staff is very friendly and the rooms were nice. The layout of the bathroom is a bit odd, but besides that it was great.
The lounge area had a horrible scent. The pool area was filthy and no one ever came to clean it up. Staff was friendly
Exactly what you expect from an aloft which is decent hotel at a decent price.
This is my second time staying here, and I've been happy with my experience. The rooms are clean and nice. The staff is happy and helpful.
The Aloft is a very spunky awesome hotel. They do not tell you that there is no parking on site, so you do have to pay for the valey parking. It is only 2 blocks away from the HMO building which was an awesome walk to the tran siberian orchestra show. I would definately stay again.
Rooms are minimalistic and stylish but everything is loose and needs a good screwdriver. Seriously this place needs some repairs
Cool, clean, small dog friendly and close to some great pubs!
We had to wait more than 45 minutes to get our car from the valet and now are late for an event this morning. Another gentleman was stuck there as the 3rd shift valet left his keys in his pocket and went home with them. Poorly managed valet service.
Nice hotel for the price. Parking is not included. They do have valet parking available for $30. Friendly service and clean rooms!
Valet parking only, but very comfortable and modern amenities.
Lets start by saying, VALET SUCKS. I was at Aloft hotel two weeks AGO and i valeted my car.. long story short.. the Valet guy gave someone my car without the CLAIM TICKET so MY CAR IS CURRENTLY STILL STOLEN.. & I STILL HAVE MY CLAIM TICKET ....JUST POOR SERVICE .. LACK OF REGARDS FOR OTHER PEOPLE BELONGINGS. THE ACTUAL PEOPLE THAT WORK AT THE ALOFT HOTEL WAS VERY CONSIDERATE OF THE MATTER AND RESPECTED MY FRUSTRATION DUE TO THE CIRCUMSTANCES.. BUT THE CLAIMS DEPARTMENT ARE NOT BEING CONSISTENT NORE RESPONDING TO MY CALLS OR EMAILS. I'M JUST COMPLETELY FRUSTRATED. JUST PROTECT YOURSELF & DO NOT VALET YOUR CAR AND IF YOU DO MAKE SURE YOU CHECK ON YOUR CAR EVERY 30 MINUTES CAUSE THIS PROCESS IS REALLY A PAIN IN MY YOU KNOW WHAT.
Very cool, hip and modern.. really enjoyed the atmosphere.. really laid back employees and just a overall good experience.. will return..
Horrible phone system cannot get to a live person big run around. I will consider our annual investor trip reservations
Great place and service. Perfect distance to a lot of cool places.
Great hotel. Conveniently located to many things, we were able to walk to the Riverside Theater easily for our show. Nice rooms with valet parking as an option. Also included breakfast.
The rooms are clean and the up to date. The staff is fantastic. The cafe area had good breakfast options. I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.
Perfect hotel for my birthday weekend getaway! I just wish the inside pool wasn't so cold and they had a hot tub!
Ros need better blinds, the rooms are really bright
Aloft is on the river located close to many bars and restaurants. It is also near the Bradley Center. It had a very modern feel to it. Our room was ok. We had a double that was not too small and had decent storage. The sliding door for the bathroom was a bit strange. There was also no fan in the bathroom and the bottom part of our bathroom door was falling apart. There was no restaurant, but there was an area in the lobby where you could order hot breakfast sandwiches. There were also sandwiches, salads, bars, juices, etc.
I would recommend this hotel for families with older children, but their lack of suites makes it difficult to travel with younger children.
Room temp was set at 62 when we checked in but warmed up nicely. Friendly staff.
Stylishly awesome. Helpful staff. Slept like I was in a coma.
Amazing customer service!! Had our wedding here and everyone was so nice and helpful! The space is great and the honeymoon suit is awesome!
Didn't even have our room ready, had to wait an hour even though we order 3 months in advance, had to wait an hour for an average room
The room was great, painless to get in and out. The one qualm with the hotel I have is the bar was not great and way over priced. I tried to tell my bartender I wanted a traditional whiskey old fashioned but he messed it up and then never came back so I could tell him the drink was bad.
Great minimalist hotel parking is kinda on the high end but great location for all Milwaukee has to offer
Very nice modern hotel. We booked to make us close to the Christkindlmarket next to the stadium. The hotel was a half block from the market and stadium. There are about 25 restaurants and bars within a 2 block radius of the hotel as well. The hotel itself had nice amenities, clean rooms and a nice bar. The pool is small but good for kids, and tons of games and activities in the lobby. Free coffee, and food available but with all the restaurants around, we did not eat there. Overall a nice place to stay
This place isn't for everyone. Very modern vibe but not high on the amenities. Practically everything is an add-on. There isn't even a water cooler in the lobby, you have to go to the drinking fountain by the pool. Rooms are super modern, but there isn't much in terms of privacy for roommates. The bathrooms have a pocket door separating the stall & shower from the rest of the room. Our door had been damaged and was off its track, leaving the occupant somewhat exposed. No separate lighting so it's not possible to use the bathroom at night without illuminating the room. Check-in was easy and the attendant was kind and gave us a rundown of the hotel and surrounding area which was nice. Anyway, not a bad place but it has some quirks that could be fixed to make the stay better.
I wouldn't recommend it and felt a review was necessary.
We thought we'd save by getting this cheap hotel and, after reading the reviews, we figured we could handle a little noise and lack of "luxury" and booked a two night stay. Unfortunately, the walls are paper thin and the hotel is located on a busy road. You can hear people talking across the street and what's worse, you can catch the conversations of the people in the surrounding rooms. This must be a popular bachelorette party destination because drunken yelling kept us up the entire night. Kids running up and down the halls, doors slamming, and neighboring guests pounding on the walls trying to quiet down noisy guests were all part of the package.
The bed was really uncomfortable, the bathroom had little to no privacy, and the temperature was incredibly hard to regulate. We were charged a $50 parking fee and didn't even park in the hotel lot.
If you can, just spend the extra money on a nicer hotel/motel - the city is easy to navigate and everything is in walking distance (in the warmer months.) It will be worth it to sleep through the night and recharge so that you can explore the city with a positive perspective.
Truly one of the worst stays I've ever had.
Hotel rooms are dated, worn and in desperate need of remodeling. Extremely poor housekeeping, my room upon arrival was still dirty other than the bed being made. Coffee maker still had the used coffee filter pod still in the coffee maker, no new coffee packets for fresh or new coffee cups. Bathroom vanity was still dirty with used bar of soap in the soap tray and no new soap. Ironing board and iron was still out and the floor hadn't been vacuumed either. This particular Aloft hotel is in desperate need of proper house keeping management.
Comfortable, clean, good service, and a decent little bar. The patio looked nice although it was to cold to use it
Great modern hotel in downtown Milwaukee. Great value for the 100 dollars I paid for the night, although there is a hidden 30 dollar parking fee that must be considered when parking. Rooms are quiet and clean. The staff are knowledgeable of the area and recommended various places for dinner. I would definitely come here again If I stay a night in Milwaukee.
Beautiful, modern hotel! Bonus? The pool was open 24hrs which made for a great ending to a long day!
The couple in the room next to me was having a lot better time than I was and she was a loud moaner
Been a long time customer of Aloft. Always love staying there. Everything was great.
I didn't stay too long, just delivered a package. But the atmosphere was great
Service was great. Downtown location. Rooms were fine. Paid parking is a little bit annoying; it should be part of the price, in my opinion. No hot tub?
Typical Aloft. Modern. Great view of the river lots to do in the area
I GOT BIT BY A BUG INFORMED THEM THEY REALLY DIDN T DO NOTHING ABOUT IT AND HOUSEKEEPERS NEVER CAME AND SWITCH SHEETS POOR SERVICE THE ONLY GOOD THING IS THE LOCATION
Loved it!!! Great location! Erica started my experience by valeting the car right in front of hotel all night! Check in was easy breezy! Aries was a lovely bartender & great conversationalist! Staying again tomorrow night!
Nice rooms, reasonable rate for the location. They were sold out of the room we had reserved a month in advance, but upgraded to a king suite at no charge.
