DO NOT BUY THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THEY DO NOT HONOR IT. When my Brand new Tocoma wouldn't start it took 4 and a half hours to pick up the vehicle. Once they finally picked it up they did not process the truck until the end of the day and I had to get a rental. they use a subcontractor to loan us trucks but they have to be Toyota. Well guess what Enterprise car rental doesn't have Toyota's David from Toyota service department said they will cover it for only one day but I would have to bring it back to swap trucks. Once I got the call the next day I left work to take care of it since I didn't want to pay the extra money for the loaner. These guys handed me a the keys to a Corolla when we agreed to a truck keep in mind guys I need to have a truck for my work and Toyota promised me a truck. They told me to speak to management about getting a truck and Jay the manager said he couldn't help me there I was out of luck. I was there at 5pm and waited for them to give me an answer whatever even a car at this point I was so frustrated but all the managers did was ignore me I stood there till 8:00pm until I asked my wife to pick me up I've never felt so embarrassed or so belittled the people there were so angry and kept giving me bad looks. Understand guys I'm already missing work going on 3 days because my brand new truck is not working and my warranty is bogus. Upper management is the worst here. an employee called them to tell them Toyota messed up. if they can let me use a truck to go to work. They simply said no. How I'm I going to make up my income from losing 3 days of work?? They dont care there a multi million dollar company and is taking advantage of us little guys. I've purchased 4 trucks from them and never missed a payment all with extended warranty. The time one time I need them I'm treated really bad ignored and they even tried to belittle me. CHEVROLET NEVER did this to me I was in there for no more then a hour and I was gone with a brand new truck. I've already contacted my lawyer and will no longer be a customer of Toyota they totally let me down....

My sales guy Ricardo Sanchez really made a difference in helping me decide the best options for me. He not only made me feel welcomed and comfortable, but also took the time to share his knowledge and allowed me to walk away feeling well informed about my car purchase. Just because of him, I would definitely go back. With employees like that, it is easy for me to recommended Capitol Toyota to my family and friends.

One of the worst car dealership experience. Went to buy a used car, was negotiating the price and at the end he says do your research well. Said the model I was talking does not exist, he didn't know what vehicle I am going to buy but says the price I am quoting not correct. Then he says buy Toyota . I told I am not interested in RAV4, he tears the price details sheet before me and throw in to dustbin. He is not doing me any favors, this is just a business transaction. Very rude attitude.

If i can give a 0 i would, i asked for an oil change been waiting for almost 4hrs and they haven't start it yet they gave my car back i check my oil, they didn't do it at all even in the receipt it says they've done oil changing but all they did was a tire rotation. They suck! Bad services dont bring your car here!

Visited this dealership to look at purchasing a vehicle. Pretty off putting experience from the get go. Had a very robotic and disinterested sales person that made no attempt to make me feel welcome or build any kind of rapport. His only attempt to engage me was asking about my credit/income 5 minutes after my arrival (eyes rolled 20 feet into the back of my head). At least try to make me feel welcome before trying to pry open my personal information. Pretty over it at that point, I have seen this before and knew he was just trying to sell me a car and get on to the next one as soon as possible. I had every intention of buying the vehicle upon my arrival but after the piss poor experience I had with the sales person I left. If I am about to spend thousands of dollars I would like to be treated like a person, not an ATM. Plenty of other dealerships in the area with way more emphasis on guest experience, one of which I bought from (Good experience at Dublin Toyota hint hint) Capitol Toyota you might sell more cars if you at least pretend to be interested in your customers.

Took my car here on a Sunday because of a recall on the front passenger airbag. Had an 8am appointment but still had to wait until 3pm to pick up my car. Luckily, I had a friend with me when I picked up my car because he noticed that they neglected to reattach a panel on the inside of the front passenger area. It then took another 15-20 minutes to get them to come back and recheck my car to make sure everything was okay.

I can be a very picky person when it comes to the professional with whom I prefer to do business. In fact, in my search for a 2018 Highlander Hybrid with lots of bells and whistles and a very specific (and hard to locate) color combination, I walked away from two other dealerships, one practically in my backyard.

Thankfully I found Capitol Toyota and Rick Perez who instantly put me at ease, worked like a dog to find me the exact vehicle I had dreamed of, and offered it to me at the price I was hoping for. It took a couple of days (fewer than I had feared) for Rick to locate my vehicle, during which time he kept me informed about his progress. When I came in to finalize the deal and take my car away, Rick answered all my questions clearly and patiently, he stuck to the numbers he had quoted a few days before, and when his job was done, he forwarded me to Mark Hatefy in Finance.

Like Rick, Mark patiently answered questions, provided explanations, and worked with me to find the financing and coverage packages that made the most sense for me. Talk about above and beyond, both Rick and Mark took such terrific care of me, I would refer them to my nearest and dearest friends and family. And, assuming the service department is as professional and competent as the sales department, I will not hesitate to drive the extra distance to have my vehicle serviced at Capitol Toyota rather than my local dealership.

These guys are liars with zero integrity or willin...

These guys are liars with zero integrity or willingness to correct their misdeeds!! Yesterday, I went to this dealer and made a deal on a used CRV they had. The negotiation was fairly painless and they settled at a really good price. Salesperson was Ash Ali. Because the tires needed to be replaced (each tire was a different brand), I left the dealer to think about it. When I got home, I called Ash and asked for some additional money off. He ultimately said they could do $200 (see attached text conversation). After some back and forth (conversation attached) I told Ash I could come in and buy the car. He said not to worry and come in first thing in the morning and that he would have the car put to the side. Fast forward to this morning. Ash called me at about 9:15 when I was about 10 minutes from the dealer to say that while a mechanic was moving the car, he heard a clinking sound and they they didn't want to sell me a car with issues. What?!! This was a Honda CRV with 44k miles on it! I told him him that this revelation DID NOT pass the smell test and that he should be honest with me if they sold the car. He went on to insist it's at a mechanic's shop...on a Sunday!!! I told him I was almost there. Then I got a call from the sales manager telling me that it was a different CRV that Ash was referring to, but then, oh yeah, the car was sold last night at 10; how convenient!! Needless to say I wasted 2 hours of my time/gas to drive to this dealership. When I asked the manager for compensation ($100) he said it's not going to happen. I'm not about to tell a dealer how much to sell cars for, but when you make a mistake, address it properly and fix it. Make it right. Don't just expect people to eat it! A little goodwill goes a long way in my eyes. I hope this review gets folks to think twice about purchasing a car here. There are many other dealers to choose from, so might as well choose one with integrity!

I would just advise the sooner the better for the CRV , there have been a few people looking at it today and I wouldn t want it to be sold before you can get it.

So we wouldn t be able to put a deposit to hold it for you on a used car but if you want we can just take care of it tomorrow. You can have it be financed , whenever you sell the car private party you can just put that towards the balance. Or if it doesn t work you can then just do a trade in and we will give 7.5k towards the 14.8k

Going to pay cash. Can I put it on my credit card?

Yes we can do that.

Capital Toyota Dealership used to be a good place to shop. I have had bought 4 vehicles from them, over the years. Most of transection were good.
Last year I bought a 2015 Corolla Le and trade in my Mazda MPV van. The manager was offering my $2500 for it, such crook, wanted to rob me in daylight. Piercey Toyota was offering me $6000 for it. I had to haggle him to $4500. The deals should be honest and straightforward. We are the repeated customer. Finance department was great!!
The place is getting clutter with stuff & greed, instead of customer service, courtesy and honesty, what drives a business.

So incompetent, it s actually pretty funny. I purchased my 4Runner here in 2016 and it was more trouble than it needed to be (in terms of paperwork, service, and waiting time for the model), but the final nail in the coffin happened today when I went in to duplicate a key.

I spoke with three people. All three (service department) had no idea what to do or who to talk to, and one guy openly laughed out loud when I asked him who was in charge. I have absolutely no confidence in the staff at Capitol Toyota, and I will never return.

Horrible. Had to convince the rep who was working with us to give me rates of the vehicles I was interested in. They mandated me to take a test drive. This wasted 30 mins. They were reluctant in giving me rates of the models I had asked for and took away the customized rate card they provided me with as soon as they got off the table to get something done(so I cannot take pictures of it). They said it was store policy. How am I supposed to make a decision? Horrible. If you respect your time, I highly recommend going somewhere else. I had a good experience at the Honda showroom right next door.

Horrendous customer service. They will attend to you while you buy. But beware: the second you buy your car here? You are on your own. No more call backs...and service is a joke. I had an 11 am appointment for an oil change. I showed up at 10. It took an hour to check in. The shuttle was booked out an hour so I had to uber back home. No one ever called me about my car so i showed up at closing. That's when they chose to tell me that they will not be able to get to my car and if I could come back the next day???? Do yourself a solid. Find any other Toyota dealer

Waited 20 min. to get service even though I had an appointment. When I went back for the car waited 15 mi. to get the car back, the receptionist called them on the radio and still wouldn't help. If I didn't have to go there for a recall, I wouldn't go back. The advisor who did help me, Paul was a good guy, otherwise would give this place a lower rating.

We went to this so called dealership for buying highlander. We were in talks and had a quote which we informed as soon as we walked in. Jimmy was not present and no one mentioned anything and said that an available agent will talk to us. Then an agent Omar met us after waiting for 15 mins and alter started showing prices and models in the office. But when we asked him to show us the car, he said he need to meet some other customer and will send somebody. After a long wait he came back saying as you were talking to Jimmy, he cant show us the car. If that was true, then why didn't anybody said so in first 1 hr of our wait.

Horrible dealership! Purchased a vehicle there a few weeks ago and have been told multiple times that I will be contacted by Toni and yet I haven't. I have waited patiently but that time is over. The salesman told me that I could discuss the APR when I go to sign the paperwork. Yeah, that is not where you do it. While signing the paperwork, I was asked to sign a free maintenance paperwork. I asked what it was for and they couldn't tell me exactly what it was. WHAT? I'm suppose to sign this and you have no idea what it is for? I went to get into my "Certified" car to find no floor mats so I go inside and ask. I was dismissed by the salesman and told what is in it is what I get. He did not say "let me check and see if there was an issue or anything". They acted like they made the sale and could now careless. I just spent a ton on a car and this is how you treat me? I then get home to look through all the paperwork and find no window stickers. How am I suppose to know what all comes with the car plus I keep all paperwork with the car. There were other issues that are in the process of being resolved thanks to Vinny! I would like to thank him for all of his help but the lack of caring by the customer service person by not calling me has pissed me off!

The sales rep agreed to a particular discount for the new car and a trade-in value for my current car, today the manager comes up and disagrees to all the discounts and reduces the trade-in value with no explanation. The same manager was not available yesterday to talk about anything... Waste of 2 whole days at this place. Will be writing to Toyota as well regarding the service.

Came here for servicing my vehicle at 8 AM in the morning. Long wait times just for someone to get to the car. Very inefficient process. I had changed my tires at some place and my TPMS was malfunctioning. I dropped by the next day to check if it was safe for me to drive the car. Was told to turn back and get it sorted with whoever i changed the tire with. Lack of options nearby has people flooding with no other choice.

Wrose Toyota auto services. I just moved to San Jose, and I wanted to check how the toyota services are here. I regret to had appointment with them. They have no shuttle services. For simple software recall which take less than hour. I had to wait more than 6 hours. I used uber and it cost me around $ 40. When I asked for brake inspection they told me it may cost you more than $200 for just inspection. Or you have to do services maintenance which cost $130 dollars. Whatever the case is, this is the worse place. I would never make any appointment with them again.

Service here is normally good but the last experience I had was HORRIBLE. I had an issue with the display turned off. I heard that there was an extended warranty that was good for 9 years and no mileage limit. Mine is a 2008 with ~122K miles. When I called the first time, I was told I didn't qualify as the vehicle was over 7 years. I was quoted $1,300+ to get the combo meter replaced. I took it back to another repair shop where I was assured mine was still under the warranty stipulation. Armed with a written proof, I called up Capitol Toyota and lo and behold it was covered! I was told they will try and finish the fix by 12/30/16. But it got delayed day by day "since the part had not arrived". I understand, this is not something they had control over but each day, I had to call for an update and each time, I was assured I will get an update the next day! I was told that the sales dept was open till 9 and I could pick up the vehicle after the service dept closes at 6. The detail that was missed was that I should I have told them ahead of time. So the trip was wasted. This morning I requested the shuttle but they couldn't give any info about when the driver would arrive. After waiting for two hours, there was a honk to announce the shuttle was outside. The driver told me he was given the wrong contact #! All is well now but I was very, very disappointed by the wrong info, apathy, lack of follow through, etc. I am not sure if I will go back there for service.

We went car shopping on Mother's Day and since this dealership was recommended to us, we went there first to check. After waiting for about some time to test drive a Prius III, the salesperson (didn't catch his name and don't want to remember - old gray haired guy) came with the car and I started asking questions. Having done my research before car shopping, I told him that another Toyota Dealership has a promo price which was $3k less for what they were asking. The JERK'S answer was "SO WHY DO YOU WANT TO TEST DRIVE THIS CAR IF YOU DON'T WANT TO PAY THE PRICE WE ARE ASKING? IT MAKES NO SENSE." Well, it didn't make any sense buying a car from this jerk, so we left. Absolutely very poor service, and to Toyota, you do not need any jerks selling your cars. We ended up buying a Prius Plug In instead in another dealership.

Bought a 2019 Corolla here. I only drove 15 thousand miles and the AC is not working. I brought my car here and asked them to check the car. They told me I have to pay $700 just to inspect the car. My car has a 5 year or 75000 thousand miles. I went back the next day and the other salesman, Jose told me that they can inspect the car for free. I went back again and they told me it's not covered by insurance since it was hit by a rock. They charged me $200 even tho it w was told the service is free. They didn't fix the car, they just checked it. I took it to another place and the person there told me that they haven't even opened anything in this car and they lied to me. Very sketchy business here. They're literal thieves.

I have bought two vehicles from this place I've tried to take my vehicles in for service they want the vehicles left over the weekend or for a couple of days just to change the oil and rotate the tires and not her happy with the service department at all I also have another vehicle that I took in for fluid change on transmission got it back with black powder in the transmission fluid do not know what they added on the flush but I had to take it somewhere else to have all the transmission fluid removed a couple of times and refilled

I bought a new car from Mark last week at Capitol Toyota in San Jose and it was a great experience from my original call, to test driving, to the financial paperwork. Mark was professional, knowledgeable, friendly, helpful, respectful and honest. Right from the onset he made sure that he would be available for locating and showing me the specific car I was interested in. I felt completely relaxed in my interactions with him and he inspired confidence in my dealing with the technology of the new model. He took my perspective of my needs seriously and didn t try to veer me into something different than I wanted. Mark made the significant, and potentially anxiety-provoking, purchase of a car a very positive experience, and has offered continued support on adapting to the new car, for which I am very appreciative. I also appreciated JK s professionalism and low-key manner in finalizing the paperwork.

Don't ever schedule your appointment with Joseph Cossell. His rude and gave us the feeling he didn't want anything to do with us. Basically we waited 30 minutes and we left after 3 minutes just cause of his service. We felt somewhat racially offended by his remarks of what we say. Other employees we talked to were just fine and had no problems with our English, but Joseph Cossell gave us the impression he could not understand us. So I gave 1 star just cause of his horrible service.

We arranged the purchase of our new car through the Costco Auto Program. This put us in touch with Capitol Toyota Sales Representative, Jimmy Lee. Jimmy was friendly and helpful in showing us the vehicles available and comparing the costs of each. We didn't have to negotiate price since these are set through the Costco Auto Program and are likely much better than we could have negotiated. Jimmy didn't try to sell us on anything we didn't want, he just helped us in deciding what it was that we wanted - and he was cheerful! JK Khilnani then helped us complete paperwork for the purchase. JK was friendly and efficient. Overall, we had a great experience in buying our new Camry.

Every time I come to get my car serviced, the staff working there are both friendly and professional.
They put much effort in customer service and satisfaction. I have coincidentally been serviced by Leo a few times, and he has always been wonderful to work with.
I highly recommend coming to Capitol Toyota. They have a great staff and great service.

righter after I bought a CPO car in the same day i found door key place was broken. I wonder how they did the inspection and dare to market it as CPO. then they asked me to come over the next day after purchasing date to fix but when I arrived, the service department refuse to fix it with saying no time frame. And then go back and forth several times with sales mangers and service department without any solution. I ask for refund and they rejected.
The managers are all con men without any real knowledge or good education (otherwise why they chose the career to cheat consumers) and wasting your time without solving problem. If they don't fix it properly, I will sue them or go to small claim court to fight until the end for selling me a broken so called CPO car .

I was going to buy a new Toyota, but the sales manager embarrassed and humiliated us loudly for carrying a ConsumerReports magazine. He even threatened us with the police if we didn't leave. Instead we went to Capitol SUBARU and BOUGHT and DROVE a NEW SUBARU the same day. They were friendlier and even had a Consumer magazine in their lobby!!!

Came in looking for a truck that was listed on their site, but apparently had been sold a while ago. Tried to ask about ordering and another truck but neither sales guy seemed interested and just went back to their conversation. It could be that I was wearing a t shirt and shorts, unfortunate to judge before you see the salary. Will try my luck at a different dealer.

We found a very great deal at Antioch Toyota for a rav4 2018. We went searching to make sure we got a great deal. Once we put out to the whole bay area. We received word from many dealerships. The only one that came close to matching Antioch was Robert Crawford at Capitol Toyota. He worked extremely hard to make sure we got a better deal.

After a phone call or two we agreed on a price that worked for us. We came in the next day around 11:15 or so. After a test drive we asked about if they had any other vehicles. We found a silver and black one. It's beautiful sporty SUV that were very happy to have in our carport.

Thank you to Robert and the whole Capitol Toyota team for making a very happy customer.

I purchased Toyota CR-H at Capitol Toyota last May 2020 and they don t have the available color on the top exterior so I paid extra to paint the top of color I want .I called them to follow up they never answer ,and they never call me on when to service paint it. I come to a point realizing they don t care anymore after you signed the purchased contract. And it reminds me that whenever I pay my monthly payment that includes the color paint that I wanted . It s kinda frustrating that they don t take care what they promise the fact that s it s not even free. I hope Toyota Capitol will be consistent on their good customer service .

Only go here if you want to be lied to, haggled and have a really terrible experience.

I went there to sell my Toyota car and after negotiating a price I left to go home and get the paperwork. I then called that I would come by to actually sell the car and they said they couldn't offer the negotiated price any more... These guys are total hagglers so don't go there unless you like that type of treatment.

When I originally bought the car there 4 years ago it wasn't much better. A lot of haggling and they didn't mention there was only one key with the car after we paid and wanted to have me pay $200...

My audio system was broken. I dropped off the car for inspection but there was no parts available. I was told they will order the parts and notify me when it is available. However, I waited for about a week. I did not get any call. Finally, I called today. I was told the parts were there. I was told the person who took my case did not work. Does that mean if your worker has days off, the customers have to wait? This is totally a bad unaccesptable customer service. I paid $929 for this repair and had to follow up myself. You failed the promised that you will make the call.

This is the second vehicle I've gotten from Capito...

This is the second vehicle I've gotten from Capitol Toyota. The staff is always friendly and helpful, and really made me feel comfortable with my purchase. I went during Memorial Day weekend, and though it was busy and I was there for a while, Gerry was great and did everything he could to make it a smooth process. I have, and will continue to, recommend Capitol Toyota to everyone.

We enjoyed the waiting area, the televisions, the kids rooms, the nice bathrooms, and the fancy automatic coffee/expresso machine. I was not looking to buy a toyota at all but my dad insisted I would just have a look around. He had bought 2 cars in the past at this location and he was very happy with their service. So i gave it try, Julio helped us from the beginning with the understanding that I was probably not going to buy a car that day. I took a look at the corolla hatchbacks and fell in love with a 2021 special edition they had in the showroom. Went home and decided to go buy it the next day. Julio was very helpful and so was his supervisor (forgot his name) and the finance person (forgot his name too sorry!!). None the less, I m very happy with my purchase and with the service.

This is from the new car buyer perspective. I haven't needed to bring it into the shop yet thankfully :)

My wife and I bought a new Prius through Stephen Tran (via carwoo) at Capitol Toyota. The whole purchase process was completely painless. This was actually a huge surprise compared to the reviews I read from others for internet car purchases in general.

1. Stephen was able to compete on price without multi-day turnarounds (I found some of the internet sales teams were very unresponsive)
2. He gave an honest and accurate estimate of when the car would arrive from the port even before I committed to buy.
3. The only add-on pushed was an extended warranty but they applied no pressure to purchase it ( We declined ).
4. Everyone was friendly throughout and we were driving off the lot with a completely as-advertised vehicle a couple hours later (including the 30 minute intro to your new car part at the end).

If Stephen is one of the dealers on your short-list, he's worth the premium. I absolutely recommend him. I've had a harder time buying a road bike. :)

Very disappointed in this place they sell you all the insurance for your car and when you need them it does not cover you there is no case. They just try to sell without explaining correctly my experience was very bad

Hope I could give 0 star. Worst place I have ever seen in my life. I was negotiating the price as regular customer does and they make deal at the price I wanted. Sales person name brandon and manager Sabrina are the worst sales person I have ever seen in my life who cheated with me. My wife and me were excited to get the car and was waiting for the car to be delivered. They agreed to give me brand new car but unfortunately when I saw the car it was used car which they were using it for test drives and also having noice in that when I drove. The car was also dirty. I didn t feel good to see it has 150 miles on it as well so I requested to give another car which is new, clean and good condition and they denied to give me. They said if you want to take it take this or get lost. I talked to their manager and his attitude was the same, he said if you want take this car or we don t want your business. They don t care about customer at all. They were trying to give me good discount and to sell the worst car.

I don t recommend anyone to go at this dealership ever.
