Used couple times over last years semester and this year now, called for clarification on documents, friendly and helpful. Lately used their online services, simple to use.

I do not understand completely the negative comments here and I am a critical, negative person! It is not the easiest system, I agree, but it is all online, at least! Yes, they take longer sometimes to answer emails (and I am an email person, so not ideal), but I always had good phone service. During summer 2020, no, they were not available and it was frustrating, but nor is Manulife, my work insurance, responsive these days, so something is going on with work from home and covid (beyond their control). My bank, too, is slow to answer, which is new. Also, my doctor complained that his secretaries were slow or making mistakes - so it is a global thing? We do not live in the best times of our lives, do we? Anyway, I withdrew from my insurance coverage on the site of my school (UdeM). Can you not go through the site of your school? I believe they have a black list for those who they call "trouble-makers" that's why they never respond to you in the chat if they see your name. If you call, I had multiple incidents where they purposefully hang up on me!!! They call themselves StudentCare which doesn't have any reviews whatsoever on google but if you look around you'll end up with the actual name ASEQ. One time, I didn't have coverage for 3 months and I was back and forth with them. They kept telling me wait it will be activated and give me other excuses while in the reality I figured out later that they were doing some *f investigation in the background for *f reasons but eventually got my coverage back. As a poor student, it's been stressful dealing with them let alone stress from school itself :(
They also allow certain services/practitioners to be claimed online while others must be via paper e.g. going to massage therapist at campus my claim goes online right away but if i go to a registered massage therapist downtown and try to process the claim online, it gets rejected and I have to mail it and all that _. This way they force students to use services at campus although we're eligible to go anywhere in the city as long as the person is a registered massage therapist.
For emails, forget about it. You will NEVER EVER EVER hear back. Management has serious problems and must be dealt with because this a rip off and taking extreme advantage of helpless poor students :(

I contacted ASEQ today to cancel my student insurance as I already have one with my job and they told me I can only in the grace period of September 15th to October 15th which I find Ineligible. We should be able to cancel per session if our situation changes and not have to pay for a full year. In addition, this famous period is explicitly written nowhere in our student files that we receive by our university. These are more than dishonest practices to take our money out of our emaciated pockets of university students and go and give ourselves small bonuses at the end of the year.

If I can give them zero stars I would. Be aware students they trick you by their prices but their insurance doesn't cover medication and you end up paying twice. Because of their uninformed customer service representatives I will end up paying the RAMQ 460$. They have the worst costumer service ever. they don't take you for serious: they promise they will get back to you and never do and the worst thing is you never get the same info for the same question ever. I called more than 7 times and got different information each time someone answered and ironically when I ended up talking with a supervisor after two month of wait he was trying to trick me by his false information as if I am stupid. I don't recommend do deal with them in no way.

I needed a simple proof of coverage. I sent them three emails and left two messages in two weeks, without any feedback, not even a confirmation message. I had to physically go to their office to answer them. I've had bad customer service before, it takes time, but at least you end up with what you need. But to ignore me completely, without explanation, is inadmissible.

Why do we have to pay for this? If I don't need it, I don't want to see it on my bill. If I haven't asked for it, I want to see it removed. Since changing their reimbursement policy in 2020, it has gotten worse: sticks in the wheels of students over and over again. I've been waiting for their famous INTERAC transfer for over 4 months. The insurance plan is automatically slipped into the tuition fees, it cannot be withdrawn. Thereafter, it is HYPER complicated to be reimbursed. I am talking about an approach spread over SEVERAL MONTHS. Phones, chats, emails ... the wait is endless and the employees are incompetent and answer no questions. I am still awaiting my refund. I was emailed today (December 1st) to tell me I had to send them a letter BEFORE December 4th or else I couldn't get my refund. Completely poor service bordering on scam.

Called TEN TIMES in three months to know the status of my requested refunded money. I sent them proof that I was insured by 2 different insurance parties already and that I wanted a refund IN JANUARY. On March 6th, after my 8th call, they told me they sent the cheque yesterday (march 5th) and that it would take 2-6 weeks to come in the mail. Every time I call, they put me on hold for 10-45 minutes and sometimes hang up. This company is in Montreal and I live in Gatineau, which is a two hour drive. It s impossible that it takes a cheque 2-6 weeks to go from Montreal to Gatineau. Absolutely the WORST, most unprofessional service I have EVER had in twenty one years of living and I am so disgusted and embarassed that my university (UQO) is associated with them. I wouldn't even recommend this insurance company to my worst enemy! Run away at all costs! I wish I could give ZERO STARS because this is what this place deserves. NEVER AGAIN.

Never been able to have a request refunded through the application, requests are set to "completed" but no follow-up / no refund. You have to call them to get anything. Rarely available during normal hours. If you hang around too much, requests expire. There are a thousand and one reasons why the requests are no longer valid. The whole process is not always clear.
On top of that, the mobile app is super buggy and nasty to use.
In short, badly invested money.

I had no problem with this insurance. I was a little apprehensive looking at reviews on google, but personally I did not have a bad experience. I installed the application on my cell ASEQ and I send my receipts by photos and I am refunded after 1 week without problem.
