Amazing restaurant, amazing food and amazing service! wow

Best pasta I've ever eaten, impeccable service and amazing ambience. Unmissable!

Great and friendly staff, the restaurant is very nice but the food was just OK, it needs improvement.

One of the best dining experiences when I visit Rome. Make a reservation and linger over a 3 hour tasting menu with wine pairings. Every dish was beautifully presented, described by the staff, accompanied by wine and was delicious. The dining room is cozy and walls are covered with shelves of wine bottles. Very relaxing evening all around.

How to spot a disasterous restaurant in Rome:
1. Walking distance from Via del Corso
2. Name doesnt have words like "trattoria", "hostaria", taverna" etc
3. According to reviews they tend to give lots of complimentary food (guess why?)
4. It does have an emphasis on wine (guess why??)
5. You can see unconventional plates (like square-shaped glass plate with 3 sections) on photos
6. Finally - they have an enormous number of positive reviews on Tripadvisor
So I blame myself (really bad) for picking this restaurant even after I have spotted all these undeniable facts... Absolutely worst pasta in Rome, value for money - 1 of 10. Don't be fooled by food/prosecco and other comliments - run! (and find a place in Trastevere/ Prati or Testaccio districts). Good luck!

The search for the perfect place for the dinner of my partner's thirtieth birthday in a city as big as Rome lasted a lot, when I decided to Ad Hoc but for some reason I was sure of the choice. And I was right, because starting from the intimate and elegant environment, but not too formal, everything was perfect. Efficient and professional service but also friendly and approachable, we asked for a small change to a dish and it was very pleasant to see that it was absolutely not a problem. The food .. well, the photos speak for themselves, all absolutely sublime! Dulcis in funds, I had specified at the time of booking - many weeks before - that it was a birthday .. and without needing to remember anything at the right time the lights went out and two waitresses arrived singing with cake and candle! Thanks a lot!

Service, Food and Wine were incredible! Location is great too and you have the option to sit inside or outside. I honestly couldn't fault this place at all, I really wish I could remember the waiters name as she was brilliant and very knowledgable on the food and wine. Would highly recommend, its the first place ill be booking when I go back to Rome.

Very good treatment and the dishes were cared for and prepared. They take maximum care of the details and make sure that everything is to your liking. Highly recommended We will be back.

Nestled in via di Ripetta, this intimate and cute place makes you dream with a sweet, almost romantic location.
Excellent wine list, liquor and various liquors of course. I recommend the fillet and the carbonara cube.
Unmissable the advice of the workers present in being advised a good bottle of wine and be pampered among aromas and flavors.
The bill? Slightly above what we expected and my friends but still reasonable.
I will come back with my husband.

This is the kind of food I came to Italy hoping to find, it was incredible! Very friendly, helpful, and well trained staff (who speak English if that matters to you). The food was seriously amazing, and it was worth getting the dishes with truffles, which they were generous with. They have an extremely long wine list as well (I asked for a wine list and was asked if I wanted the book of red wines or the book of white wines they offered), and after narrowing it down to a few options our server recommended one that was the best wine I've had in Italy yet. Overall this is in my top 3 restaurant experiences and it was a remarkably reasonable bill at the end. Can't recommend this place enough!

I was grateful to spend a very special night here with my new fiance'. We enjoyed the 10 course truffle menu and the service here. One of my favorite restaurants in the world.

The institution specializes in truffles, they grow them themselves. But there are many dishes without them.
A very pleasant atmospheric place. Nice lighting, polite, friendly staff.

Average food at high prices but good wine selection and friendly staff. Minus one star for failing to disclose that the daily special pasta sets you back 40 EUR and sending out overcooked steak.

Would have liked to deduct another half star for no itemised bill, just four handwritten lines and a sum total (impossible to decipher). Later requested a breakdown and the restaurant acknowledged overcharging. Just 7 EUR but still.

Very friendly atmosphere, small corners to enjoy a great meal. Food very good, presentation very well worked out, presented with great care of details. The specialty is the cuisine combined with truffles, both white and black. Very professional service, nice, they make you feel a special meal. Extensive wine list. An excellent experience.

My girlfriend reserved a table in this lovely restaurant for my birthday. We both had the set menu with wine pairings, and it was an unbelievable experience. The interior of the restaurant is gorgeous, the food was outstanding, and the staff made it a very memorable experience for us both. Amazing truffles!

I really liked the restaurant. The atmosphere is amazing. No pathos, but decent. Great service. Excellent cuisine. Delicious. Huge wine list. The price-performance ratio is super. In the historic center. Nice to walk in the evening after dinner.

His location is beautiful, as is the location a stone's throw from Piazza del Popolo. The kitchen really deserves.

Excellent Restaurant in Rome !!! Incredible place, for those who appreciate gourmet cuisine, and an experience with Italian wines. Nice atmosphere, cozy, a beautiful look, a perfect service with presentation of the dishes and harmonization with the ideal wine. Entrance with a white wine, main course a pleasant experience of three pastas with a soft and aromatic red wine, and ending with a spectacular dessert with coffee and to end the night a gift given by the house for each one, a bottle of olive oil ! An amazing gastronomic evening in Rome harmonized with a great company !!! Fair price!!! Well worth the experience !!! I recommend!!!

I wanted to take the wife out for a fancy meal for our last night in Rome and this certainly fit the bill. We went about 8pm on a Tuesday and were able to get in with no reservation. They were busy so I think we were lucky.

As you might predict no Italians were eating this early. The wait staff all spoke English (and Russian, French and I bet many other languages).

The food was top notch. We got the antipasti sampler, fried cod appetizer (large portion, perfectly cooked), carbonara boxes (my fave), gnocchi, beef cheek, sea bass & the mixed salad. Everything was prepared and presented at a high level like I expect with American & French fine dining. I advise calling in a reservation if possible.

They have good-looking tasting menus (including truffle-themed) with wine pairings and some delicious-looking desserts. Had we been up for alcohol I would have done a tasting menu with pleasure. Very good value.

We probably ate at more 'authentic' Italian places on our travels through Italy, but this was the best meal by far. The prices are commensurate with the quality of the food and service. We paid about 140 for two people - quite good!

On holiday in Rome with my boyfriend, we had dinner two evenings in this restaurant. Everything went beyond our expectations, from the top welcome, to the location, to the quality of the products used and the friendliness and professionalism of the staff. Dishes with divine truffles, but the others are not far behind. Excellent attention to detail that is often taken for granted, but not for everyone! We can't wait to return to try many other dishes and wines .. Congratulations and see you soon !!

We had a great time here - food, ambience and service is great. We were family of 5 - 3 teenagers. Boys loved fillet steaks. We had two courses and paid 45 per head plus drinks. For a special night in Rome this is the one and you should pre book

Simply amazing! We had the Roman tasting menu (+ wine), and all of the dishes were amazing. We particularly liked the truffle carbonara. Unfortunately we were so excited to tuck in that we didn't take any photos! The wine was lovely. Service was attentive and friendly, not overbearing. Also worth noting that if you book a table through their website, you get 10% off the final bill.

Everyone, please go twice, go three times!! Best of all the food I ate in Rome! The sparkling wine I gave as a welcome drink came with so much scent, and the staff were so friendly and professional. It is a pity that I could not eat a lot of food or drink alcohol because of the accumulated travel fatigue. ...The olive oil that I gave as a gift when I was going is also impressed. From appetizers to desserts, there is nothing missing from the taste service!

In advance: we are back in Rome, so we are sure again a guest at Ad Hoc. In addition to upscale ambience and the fine selection of wines are neither the food, nor the service back. The price level is up, but is absolutely in relation to the offered. Attention: Without timely reservation, there is hardly a chance for a table.

Between the wonderful service and superb food you'd be hard pressed to find a better restaurant in Italy. We had the Roman tasting menu and it was a wonderful experience of food and wine . Will definitely come back and try the truffle tasting menu next.

Worst fried chicken I have ever had. Mostly bones. Very little meat and very greasy.

what an amazing resto. food was amazing, wine incredible and the service couldn't be better: they gave plenty of information about the food and the wine and they were extremely attentive and cool. 100% recommended, specially for a couple or group of friends that want to have a great dinner.

It was an evening to remember

Exquisite food design, delightful wine cellar style atmosphere and a sophisticated wine/whiskey/grappa menu. Service was superb and attentive. Complimentary appetizers and bread sticks was refreshing in Rome, where every extra costs extra euros, and my wife received a small gift at the end of the meal.

Reservations absolutely required; we got in by accident just at opening time (630pm) but we saw a dozen people turned away.

Prices are medium-high and portions fairly small if you're a big eater, but we ended up stuffed with just first and second courses. Some of the food is a bit salty but the presentation was lovely.

Overall a premiere dining experience. Bravo!

Excellent truffle cuisine. You must go. Please note that white truffles are only available from October to December.

This restaurant is really amazing. The food is excellent and the service is impeccable. I suggest to order the truffle tasting menu which is really impressive.. the truffle carbonara is something beyond this world!

I asked for a truffle course with pairing wine.
Was it about 22,000 yen?

The customer service and food were very satisfying!
I didn't understand English, so the explanation of the food was refreshing (laughs)
Course meals are very large, so if you understand English, you may order a la carte.

I got the original mini olive oil on the way home.

Excellent service, food and presentation. Very well trained staff who make you feel welcome the moment you open the door....yet not intrusive. Recommended.

A place with chic, a place that combines good food with a magical atmosphere

Restaurant which stands out clearly from other Trattorias in Rome.
Nice wine list, interesting dishes and a whole section devoted to working with truffles.
On the other hand, to our taste, the cook gets a little carried away when it comes to dishes and truffles, and tastes can quickly tend to struggle and overwhelm the palate ... A lack of subtlety which is a shame given the quality of the rest of the menu (in particular the gnocchi with lobsters and truffles, or even the vermicelli with guanciale and truffles ... A little too much).
For the rest, the starters were perfect, well balanced and tasty. The dishes ... We should surely have opted for more classic dishes.

We recommend all the same, but knowingly!

Waiting time: you could indeed read the whole bible, while waiting for any sort of possible interaction with any waiters... .... ... ...(yes, it feels like this) Environment: nice. IMPORTANT: BE CAREFUL WITH YOUR JACKETS, they have a complete mess in the closet, mistaking all the jackets x5 times until they found the right ones (they even didn't allow me to find them. Why???) Food: very good, plenty of wine choices. By the way: be ready for SMALL PORTION.

Our best meal in Rome. I had the land tasting menu and everything on it was delicious, as was the wine pairing. Would definitely return.

Frame and warm welcome. The tasting menu with truffle was hearty and delicious. Small attentions brought for a special event. In short, we had a great evening and thank all the staff.

The best part is PAOLA the host and wine expert, she s someone who s passionate about her work and she got to know our taste in wines and got us the best white wine that we ve tasted so far!!

Omg best truffle restaurant that I've been...even though its my first. But the whole experience was just wonderful. I could not believe how many ppl came just to put their name in last minute for a table and it was a weekday when i went!!!

The ristorante Ad Hoc is a very good restaurant that I highly recommend. It offers seasonal foods of excellent quality including some from the owner's own production, including olive oil that is so tasty that you could eat with a spoon.

We came across this place on Tripadvisor, tried to book in on Valentines Day but for obvious reasons couldn't so we went for my boyfriends birthday instead a couple days before. The food was absolutely beautiful. We both did the A la carte, as the portions looked a little too big for us for the tasting menu (which they would have been) However the food was absolutely delicious! If you like truffles you are in for a treat!!!!! I booked this place well in advance and told them that it was my boyfriends birthday! They made us feel very special with a lovely table by the window, and a surprise tiramisu with Happy Birthday written on it at the end! The lady who served us was exceptional - she chose our wines to match with the food we ordered (I think her name was Elga) She was exceptional and a credit to the restaurant! Again, thank you AdHoc for our favourite dinner in Rome! We will be recommending this place in the future and will hopefully return one day!

A very special restaurant. Food beyond compare with excellent in season truffle menu and a willingness to modify on request. Yes of course you can have black and white! Service was enchanting and knowledgeable. Book before hand and they get back to you in minutes. Not to be missed Rome treasure.
