Ad Hoc Ristorante Review

Amazing experience. Beautiful atmosphere, wonderful service, absolutely delicious vegetarian food. They were able to make the entire degustation vegetarian! The wine pairings were phenomenal. Perfect special birthday venue.

Disappointing. Food poorly seasoned, very small portions, had to ask for the wine menu, food served on cold plates. Waitresses seemed over stretched. People at the next table had a similarly bad experience. Maybe avoid if you're not a local.

Great! A restaurant as God commands, the treatment was exquisite from the first moment on the part of all the waiters especially Egla. They gave us a beautiful rose at the entrance, a glass of sparkling wine and a snack. We ordered a varied entree that was very good, and two dishes to share, carbonara cube (essential, although a little salty) and a meat that was very good, but that we could not finish because of lack of hunger. The waitress thought we had not liked it and did not take our insistence on the last dish. All phenomenal we will repeat without a doubt, quality price / unbeatable treatment

I am not used to leave reviews but this time I have to. We are amazed with everything regarding this restaurant. Definitely staff is very professional and so kind. Food is very tasty and cook is real virtuoso.
Also we are astonished with many things we got for free.
I will recommend this place to my friends, and I know for sure where we will eat next time in Rome

I had the fish tasting menu with wine pairing and she had 2 courses and bottle of wine from the amazing choices on their wine lists! The service really couldn't be faulted, very attentive and cared for everything you like and want, really helpful for everything they make and produce. The tasting menu was absolutely stunning and the wine accompaniments were beautiful!

A restaurant truly worthy of this title.
Great staff but really, all the staff are great.
I've been a few nights and I'm serious you eat very well, especially the beef cheek with truffles and the ravioli with cheese and pepper with cream or artichoke or asparagus. You pay a little but believe me go away that you will not count the sodas but the feel good and the spectacular food. In short, you will remember the taste not the expense. Thanks to all as soon as I can return

Absolutely a must visit if you are a foodie. Delicious food, the meat was cooked to perfection and the pasta was exquisite, great service, the ambience was marvelous, 10 out of 10, would come again.

Found this lovely restaurant walking by and then did the google check. It reviews reasonably well so despite being a little nervous as it looked expensive, decided to dine here. Was extremely happy with the experience. Food is 10/10. Lots of extras for no charge. E.g prosecco at start, petite fours at end, little appetisers at start and gift of olive oil at end! Truffle menu to die for. I had suckling pig and truffle carbonara - delicious. Wine list is superb and it helped that we had a glass at the enoteca nearby to decide which wine we would order at dinner. It is 50+ a head, but worth having pizza for the next 2 nights just to experience such loveliness.

Have discovered this restaurant by a colleague and I have rarely eaten as good and fresh as in ad hoc. The food was really fantastic, the lobster gnocchi with truffles was a dream. So also the deep-fried cod fish as an appetizer. The service was a bit uncoordinated and slow. Arrived without a reservation and found a good table. The wine selection is huge. When paying you get a bottle of olive oil, which is very good. Certainly not very cheap, have paid three hundred 200 euros. But it was worth, I can recommend unreservedly. Top!

In via ripetta, open only in the evening, location with many bottles on display. Lights too dim, you can't see what's on your plate. Almost everything covered with truffles which in turn covers all the smells and tastes, so you don't really know what you ate. The wine to accompany already poured into the glass

Service, Food and Wine were incredible! Location is great too and you have the option to sit inside or outside. I honestly couldn't fault this place at all, I really wish I could remember the waiters name as she was brilliant and very knowledgable on the food and wine. Would highly recommend, its the first place ill be booking when I go back to Rome.

Disappointing
The restaurant, famous for its dishes and truffle menus, is very nice and almost always serves the reservation.
I put a star NOT because the experience was totally negative or because we found ourselves bad, but because I hope to come back and change my mind on some points that, unfortunately, for a restaurant of this thickness, should be improved, for this I will start with the describe all the positive things I have noticed.
The wine cellar is exceptional, from the most exclusive to the most accessible, but still an excellent selection, almost always available.
The staff is very friendly and helpful, always attentive to customer needs, truly 5-star.
The menu is very clear and allows you to choose the courses without finding final surprises, you can also make the tasting menu, the most famous are with black truffles or white truffles (about 200 euros per person).
We stayed until late and, although we were practically the last ones, we were not pushed to leave.
The environment is very exclusive.
Why did I put a star? Honestly, I hoped that the dishes had more truffles and less seasoning, in short, I choose a place like this because I love truffles!
On the first. in particular, unfortunately the taste of the truffle was almost absent, not because it was used little, but because it was drowned by other flavors such as cheese or other.
In short, I expected to taste more truffles in the dishes and, if the restaurant was not really renowned for this, I would have put 5 stars, but since I went there on purpose I expected something more.
I state that we chose an excellent wine and that, although we did not choose the tasting menu, we requested a wide range of dishes, just to taste the truffle in all its forms.
Prices are notoriously high, but this does not hide it, we have spent c.ca 120euro per person.
I repeat, I hope to come back and change my mind ...

Excellent tasting menu at a reasonable price. The service was perfect. Lovely romantic setting and in a nice area for strolling after dinner and finding a nearby wine bar.

Good value, decent food and surprising little extras. Not Michelin star quality, but enjoyable treat dinner out - went for bfs 30th. Go for land tasting menu!

The food, service, wine and location was absolutely amazing. The tasting meny was broad, interesting and delicious! Halfway through the meal we had to leave suddenly due to personal circumstances, and the staff was incredibly understanding and helpful and even called us a cab. Easily my favourite restaurant in Rome

Fabulous dining experience, food was spectacular, the wine was excellent and the staff were great. It's a little pricey but well worth it. The Steak Tartar and the suckling pig were wonderful. The waiting time for food was a little longer than average but it's worth waiting for great food.

First class restaurant with exquisite menu. Lovely food set up by the chef. Especially cozy atmosphere, wines that are well adapted to the menu and especially good service. Very nice waiter who adapted to our pace in a nice way. It is clear that this restaurant was very concerned with its customers. We ordered tables online, which is a good idea. Highly recommended for special occasions. We even got a bottle of olive oil home. You should go here if you really want a nice experience in Rome.

In our visit to Rome last week, we dined at Ad Hoc on the recommendation of our nearby hotel. We had an excellent dinner, presided over by our professional, engaging waitress/sommelier/perhaps maitred' and her two attentive assistants. Ad Hoc has an extensive wine collection, and our waitress was most helpful in describing and suggesting wines. The food was excellent, nicely and creatively presented. Typical of Italy, our dinner was leisurely, sommewhat expensive if you allow it to be, but most enjoyble for our family of four in a manner we rarely can enjoy at home. We had such a delightful time, we returned for a second experience on our last night. We all recommend this fine restaurant.

We took tasting menu with black truffles and pairing wine. Every course was delicious and well balanced with the wine they offered.
My daughter had also her special treatment when she asked for passion fruit as her only desert ! They came up with a beautifully decorated plate and a passion fruit.
The restaurant setting is also beautiful. We were surrounded by particularly interesting bottle of wines.
A special thanks goes to people who served us delicately and with lots of enthusiasm.

Fabulous meal but too much food! Felt like I would never stop eating. I had the truffle tasting menu and was I glad I did! Wife had the Roman tasting menu. The food was top notch. Service was also excellent. We also got a discount for reserving through their web site, a small bottle of olive oil to take home and some cookies and desserts to wrap things up. This restaurant was a culinary highlight of our amazing Roman vacation. Thanks!

The tasting menu was correct, but could improve. Desserts were not the best on the menu. The 4 stars are for wine.
