Ace Adventure Resort Reviews

My buddy Sparky and I started coming to ACE in 1998. We've brought different people down almost every time and now have a group of regulars who can't wait. Brought my wife and kids and now my middle son will be on his 5th trip and 4th gauley run. My runs down the gauley get better each year having John Cornholio and Lisa last year. Zip line folks are great and the whole place is just great to us every time. Really enjoyed the party in the holler last year. Music was great. Felt like a Woodstock experience with the wet muddy field. If you don't find a way to have fun at ACE it's prolly your own fault.

I attended the haunted trail it was very good but not for people who have a hard time with stairs as there is alot. I felt like they could have done a little more with the outdoor portion the busses were cool but not many scares in there. I felt like the price was a little steep for the length of the trail but overall I enjoyed it and am glad I went.

We had a fantastic time at ACE. Whitewater rafting together, as a family, was awesome! Our guide, Zac, was a great guide and was so kind to our youngest - a chatter box. Zac put up with his countless questions and gave him the best seat on the boat!! We rented a Chalet. It was nice and spacious. The hot tub was old. My only regret is that the waterpark isn't inlcuded with the rental. I know they can't offer that to campers, but it seems like if you rent a nicer place, it should come with daily waterpark access.

Went on the lower new river tour. Wolf-Pup as our guide and by far the most knowledgeable and entertaining guide I've had. Recommend him if you go!!

I first started white water rafting years ago. When living in WV I heard about ACE and was super excited to see all of the activities they had to offer. They have white water rafting. We went on the Full Upper Gauley River trip and it was so much fun. So exciting. We had an amazing trip leader Jimbo and an awesome guide Basil. 10/10 would recommend. 10/10 would do again.

The rafting is amazing, all the guides are great, you can t go wrong. The climbing tower is challenging but so so much fun. They have different bands playing every Friday and Saturday night in their family friendly lounge. It s a lively but comfortable atmosphere with bar tenders that take great care of you. The food is great and there are so many options. The drinks are all delicious and if you are in the mood to try something new, the bar tenders will make something they think you ll like. The Lakeside Dining hall has a certified chef in the kitchen that keeps things running smoothly. They also have a pastry chef who s desserts have won awards like the 2017 Taste of Bridge Day Best Dessert award. The ever-improving water park is absolutely beautiful and so much fun for everyone. Employees go the extra mile for their guests everyday. I highly recommend this resort if you re looking for fun in the beautiful mountains of West Virginia!

Had a good time with the family. Had their pizza for lunch, it was good - a little greasy, but good. They had the US & WV flag hanging, but incorrectly. Will definitely go back for some more fun.

Ace adventure resort was a excellent experience, staying at the mountain top camping area.

Loved the waterpark and camping but the food is disgusting

Took the all day rafting trip on the lower new. Can't say enough good things about the organization and the guides. Will definitely be back! Swimming under the new river gorge bridge is incredible!

Staff was super friendly and helpful. Food was great. Wish there were more trees in the camping spots to put hammocks up but that's not a big deal. Our rafting guide was the best - personable, funny, knew what he was doing.

place is overgrown building maintenance is a joke trash litter about definitely going down hill .wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The ziplining was fabulous and our guides Eray ,Jenna, and Anna were fantastic. I would highly recommend them for your tour, they made it fun for all of us.The whitewater rafting was also amazing! The guide Drew Stewart was the best raft tour guide on the river.

Noelle and Cassie were the best guides ever! They took great care of us. These ladies should get a raise - Thank you! We would recommend ACE Canopy Tour to anyone looking for some fun in Oak Hill, WV!

A great camping experience! Shower houses are kept very clean! Everyone is very friendly! The waterpark is really awesome! So many activities to experience! My only complaint is that there is nothing to offer children under 6 which means a couple has to do things separately!.. Other than the water park. I think it would be great to offer a kid camp for children under 6! The children camp leader that my boys had was truly wonderful and showed my boys a great time!

Go here as soon as you can. Truly outstanding fun for all ages and adventure threshholds.

So much to see and do. Weren't with Wounded Warrior Project. The staff was fantastic and mass it easy to have a great time.

First time here,it's a great place for camping, rafting and just having a good old time!

Staff, facilities, and attractions were top notch compared to any company in any state.

Such an awesome atmosphere! The obstacles are great for almost all ages but there's definitely something for all ages!

The website doesn't give it justice. Great Water park zip lining and rafting. The white water rafting guides are terrific.

Came to WVA to spend some time with my family from Arkansas. We planned a rafting trip on the Lower New River. The ACE facility was amazing, and everyone there was so Professional and kind! Our guide was an awesome guy who they called ChickenHead haha! He was very funny and friendly, and kept spectacular conversation, definitely suited for the laid back rafters. He had a ton of info about the River and all the rapids, we were pretty experienced rafters so we had a blast, and took all the rapids pretty hard which was amazing! By the end we were greeted by our bus driver who had a cooler of cold soda and beer for the group! Hell yeah! If you plan of rafting the New River or the Gaully for sure book with ACE!

This was my group of 12 first time here for the weekend. We camped and enjoyed a 5 hour rafting trip. One of our friends had to be emergency evacuated by the staff they was steadfast and most accommodating. Scotty was the best and we look forward to coming back and enjoying more Ace has to offer.

Just got back from ACE, 9-17 we did the ATV with Emma and Alec, great people, they gave us an amazing tour and we had a blast riding through the woods with them...so much fun.
9-18 We went out on the River, OMG so much fun! Our guide was Zack, super competent, super knowledgeable, and probably coolest dude I have ever met. He knew everyone's name and made the whole experience personable and memorable. We had so much fun that we can't wait to come back and do it again...absolutely loved it!
We stayed in one of the cabins...the modern cabins( I highly recommend)....It made coming home at the end of a day of adventure so wonderful.
Thank you Ace! Can't wait to come back!

When ziplining, white water rafting was very fun and played in the water park which is very fun as well cabins are very clean

Just stayed the weekend on a Bachelor party. And what can I say it was a success!!! The all day rafting trip was AWESOME!! Our guide was Lauren, She was legit an absolute pleasure to be on the river with ! She has a true passion for what she does and it shows ... So thank you Lauren you're the best !
The water park is fun for all ages Child or adult.. The resort bar and live music just added to the already great time we were having... Keep up the good work ACE I will be back ..

The quality of adventure experience, professional staff, and amazing amenities makes ACE one of my favorite places to visit! We have been rafting, zip lining, and on numerous other adventures with our whole family at the resort and have always had a blast! Sometimes we just go hang out at the play lake for the day and enjoy the waterpark with the kids as well. Highly recommended!!

It was a lot of fun. Just remember to book in advance and there are zero refunds due to weather.

Not at all what we expected. Very disappointed! We spent over $100.]] And reserved tickets and has no table and way too many people. Served alcohol with all them kids and my grandson witnessed grown adults fighting and using nasty language. Very satisfied. Spent day setting on a life jacket on a hillside. Definitely should be refunded!!!

Be prepared for an epic, full body workout! This place was really great, and worth the cost of admission and 4 hour drive. Oh, and bring sunscreen!

I had a great stay here. Cabins were clean and maintained. The staff were very helpful providing information about local activities and restaurants without being pushy. The area was well maintained without detracting from the natural beauty of the forest. I would highly recommend to anyone looking for a fun location to unplug from the world. I'm only giving it four stars because they didn't advertise clearly that the cabins do not have wifi. I didn't mind not having wifi but feel that they should have been more upfront in their advertising.

I would give them a five star review if it weren't for chickenhead's attitude at the beginning of the trip.

Still the crew kept us safe and kept it loose which I appreciated. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable about all the rapids and coached us through them with ease.

The lunch was amazing! I have been on a lot of rafting trips and never had as fulfilling of a lunch as I did with ACE.

Overall, great experience. A little mix up in the beginning brought the ire of chickhead on my party but no significant issues. I had a fun experience and can't wait to come ba k again!!!

The highlight of our white water trip was how the guides made it fun, gave us history, and taught us how to master the rapids. They also provided a fantastic lunch that goes above and beyond what we expected. They also did a good job of emphasizing safety and making sure you were prepared. S/O to Tug and Charlie for a great time on the water!

We had a blast during Gauley Season! Great guides for both the upper an lower Gauley. 1 of the top 10 rivers to raft in the world. Can't wait for next year to raft the Gauley River in WV. We will definitely use ACE Adventure outfitters again.

The guides are cool, however everything is expensive and the counter customer service is terrible. People there are also just kinda trashy, including the employees

Amazing facilities and no lack of things to do. The waterpark is phenomenal. I hope to return soon for zip lining or rafting. This is a gem for the New River Gorge!

Great family fun! The on-site restaurant is surprisingly decent for resort food in a remote location.

Hade a vary good Time Anthony Was so good and we all had a awesome time . Love it . My husband and I will be doing it again.

This resort is maintained well, and clean. The only thing I would like to see here would be a small convenient store on site. The disc golf course was great!

Great fun. Zach was our guide and he made the trip more than an adventure....he made it a BLAST.

We found this place sort of randomly, and camped here over the 4th of July holiday weekend. I have only great things to say about everything as a whole! Everyone we talked to was helpful and welcoming, the grounds were all kept up nicely, and all of the facilities were more than I could have hoped for on a camping trip. All in all, it was all fantastic!

Went to Nightmare on the Gorge lights out nite. Was a great time. Lots of scares. Fun for the entire family.

GO, GO, GO! Exactly what are you waiting for? Don't read any reviews just see what its all about for yourself and I promise you will not regret it if you are a outdoors junky! Fun for kids of all ages.

Lots to do at Ace. Camping, rafting, mountain biking, basically all the things WV is known for. You can camp in tents, cabins, or some little platform that's a mix of the two. There's family camping in quiet areas and a more youth-oriented area. There's a large lake with zip lines and inflatable things to play on. It's a great way to get into the outdoors when you're not ready to go at it alone.

We make this an annual trip - tons of activities - this year we did mountain biking, upper new white-water in duckies and a zipline tour - plus a few days at the lake. All the guides we interacted with were very friendly and focused on making sure we had a great time - which we did!

We rented the Truman cabin. The air conditioning and the refridge weren't working right. They did try to make it right. By day three it was cool enough to sleep. The lake was ok but the inflatables were a bit hard for the 7 year olds to climb even the little ones. A nice atmosphere. Close to town if you need it. The hot tub was meh and they had to fix it too. The kids caught a gazillion catch n return fish at the pond. Nice concessions.

I haven't even gotten to go rafting yet and I hate this company. I ordered a trip for 4 people and was put on a larger raft. I was told no information on why this happened. I was just expected to know how the company works. When I e-mailed asking questions someone called me. They were mean, rude and pushy. They basically said if I didn't like it I could go some place else. There was no apology and he denied that there was even an issue. Don't go here. I can't imagine how they treat you when you get there.

Place is super cool staff was well leaving more to be desired but all in all pretty cool place

Fantastic facilities! Loved the onsite water park, private showers and dedicated camping spaces. The process from signing in to getting PFD's/Paddles/Helmets should be co-located to make the experience more seamless. Awesome river guides!

Would have given them 5 stars if it hadn't been for the noisy neighbors in the RV. Not sure why they put the RV up here with the family tent campers. :(

It's a place we have been going coming to every year since we found it! We love it as a family and individuals! Everything is great it gets better every year and so does the price!!

Great place to do any kind of camping, hiking, biking, swimming and white water rafting

Amazing campgrounds! Live music! Water slides and so so much more! Also one of my favorite things is food and they covered that there on site and a great restaurant.

The rafting trip was very fun. The staff was very nice. Our rafting guide made sure we were safe and having fun the entire time. The swimming area has lots of fun equipment to use. Spent an entire day there. Very much worth the 7 hour drive it took to get there.
