I placed an order for a new service for my house on the Nov. 17th 2020. I was GUARANTEED installation in 5 business days, for the 24th.
Since I haven't heard from them, I called to verify if I need to be there physically or not and I was told that the delivery date is now the 30th.
I talked with an agents that said I received a text message AND an email on the 18th but i received neither. When I called back to talk to a second agent he told me that the confirmation was sent on the 23rd, not the 18th..... but once again, I received nothing. (not in junk either).
Not possible to talk with a supervisor, they will try to call back in 24 to 48 hours... I'm working from home and right now I will be loosing money for 5 days because of the incompetence of this company.
Avoid at all cost, unless you don't mind being lied to, have promises changed without warning, etc.
They are cheaper, but since you get nothing for it, it's not worth it!

More than 4 years coustumer and I received today my bill with $5 more that i have to pay with out reason, in my bill said "temporary Carrier Cost Surcharge" with out reason and is already my 3rd bill with this, the answer for them is temporary and they don t know until wen.

The worst internet provider in Canada and probably in the world. Keep away from them!!! Internet works only sometimes. Days without connecting is totally fine for this provider. Support doesn't care.. only saying like parrots: restart your modem, restart your phone, restart your computer

After canceling the service, they charged me for un-returned equipment even though it was return 6 days ahead of time. I noticed the charge 2 months later and had to call them.

While canceling, I also had to remind the sales rep that I had equipment to return and for her to give me a shipping label. Seems like they try to make a profit from the rented equipment that they mistakenly charge you at the end.

All i want is for you to troubleshoot why I am not gettin g the speed as per contract. Previously I was getting speeds above that at my address. This is no an issue of my equipment. This is an assigned bandwith/signal issue on the company end.

The value of Acanac is still great but at the expense of poor customer service. Issues are infrequent.

I have signed up and paid for cable internet that was supposed to be install on the 22 of October which was canceled due to my Technicolor TC4400 being active with another provider. The installation was Canceled and I was never informed of the state of the account. When I called my previous ISP they mentioned that the new Cable service provider Acanac should have simply been able to do a transfer of the existing service since it was through the same main carrier Videotron . My active Internet was canceled on the 29/30 of October and I have been without internet since. Due to the pandemic my wife is working from home and we have been without internet for 9 days. She is having to use her cell phone as a Hot-spot for all her virtual meetings and the usage has sky-rocketed. When I initially called to schedule an installation with Acanac, I was given a date and time window in which the service was to be installed which was probably around a 7 day window. Now I have called over a dozen times and Acanac cannot verify when my service will be active The installation has been deemed as a remote installation there is no technician required I don t know why this process is taking now longer than the original time in which I called and was given an installation date and time window.
I am so frustrated with this situation.

So i ended up canceling my order with the company, I called the root carrier and when i explained my story to them the customer support agent quickly was able to schedule an installation with them next day

The most unprofessional internet company you ll ever work with. If you need any info updated, you will have to call them because they re fairly new to this whole internet thing and have no online platform. I have a 1 year contract with them which was fine but when I asked to upgrade, they said I d have to pay several hundred to cancel my account and make a new one with them. Literally any other company is happy to do upgrades within one s contract period. I was offering them more money!!!

Honestly, if you re very confident you ll never have to call them and that you can keep the same payment info and internet speed for years, then go for it and give them a try. If you care about reliability and good service, this is not for you.

Poorest internet provider in the city. Very limited customer service. When dealing with technical support (limited as well), they do cold-transfer your call to Bell (carrier which you never signed up) and Bell bounces you back to Acanac. Meanwhile, you still without internet, or with tons of interruptions per hour. Do NOT sign up with them.

I was 3 years with this company, I wanted to give them a chance but since the covid the service has worsened. The Internet was shutting down every 30 minutes, very bad networks. When I tried to contact the technical service I waited 1 hour online I tried to try. No responses for 2 weeks.
But when these to pay a bill they respond pretty quickly .. lol when I wanted to interrupt the service they tried to beg me a good price up to $ 19.99 per month but I told them 4 times no thanks. In any case, I am not suggesting this service it is poor in service and in network.

Had experienced 1 week service interruption with no internet at all, spending more than 10hours with their technicians, resulting in kicking ball to different departments and nothing resolved. Even for the cancellation, the company line can not be reached for over 15 phone call. A company totally wasting your time and money!!

Have been using Acanac since 2008. Have only had a few issues during all that time and even then the problems were solved. Good value internet (we have their 25DSL) and consistently reliableservice. We also use the Acanac service in conjunction with Distributels TV service so... internet reliability is important. I have no idea why there are so many low ratings because they've been the best internet service provider I've ever had.

I've been a user of Acanac for more than 5 years now. I DO NOT understand these reviews. I have had some issues over the years and all where solved in a matter of hours (broken modem, connectivity issue). I had no issue for the last two years. They gave me a static IP so I can host a server at home and the server is reliable, this has a huge value for me. Are competitors just bashing this company because of it's lower price?

Ordered internet service last week of October. Scheduled activation date of November 3.

Received no email about modem tracking. Found out when Purolator called me to ask for building entry instructions.

November 3rd passes. Still no service. Call their number, am informed the date is only an estimate and I'll hear back in 48 hours with an actual install date. So 3 days late I'll get to know when and if my install will take place? Unacceptable.

The price is great... If I actually had service. More like I paid to be serviced. I'll provide an update when I get one. Either when I cancel and they want their modem back, or if I actually get internet and how long that takes.

Payed annually for Voice service until last September, but Acanac's billing still trying to extort payments for another 2 month of service that wasn't provided and not requested. Asked customer service talk to the manager to clarify that, but their reps hanged up on me twice and sent threats of collection. Stay away of this provider, if you can. Disgrace of the industry....

Had to call them today to discuss new pricing ON their website and this person decided to speak over every single time and giving terrible terrible attitude. Stating that their website is not always reliable and unpredictable? Very unprofessional, needless to say shopping around somewhere else now. Would never recommend for price and customer service.
