Staff do well for the (lack of) processes and systems in place. Lots of paperwork and signatures needed for something as simple as a transponder.

Why 407 Is sending me bills when I didn't take the highway? Does anyone experience this? Please help. Thanks.

Out of town people get hosed. They charge ridiculous video tool fees and other fees for not having a transponder. How is a tourist to get a transponder and why would they for a few days.

Extremely friendly staff! Just because they work for a govt organization doesn't mean you shouldn't treat them with understanding ad respect. I had someone who never did a US plate and vehicle which is understandable. He got a little help from a supervisor and was done fast. Loved my experience here

How are there no clear lines on the 407 between hwy 400 and mavis road? I'm sure this goes beyond those two. Absolutely ridiculous for a Hwy people have to pay for.
This Hwy should be free to take congestion off the 401 but no, money money money.

Don't know what I would do without the ETR. Saves hours if my personal time which is worth paying for!

Best highway in Ontario! Price is high, but worth it. Very good on occasional important trips, but with transponder only.

Attention visitors to Canada. They will send you a bill and overcharge you for video toll charge and if you are driving a rental car, the rental company will get you as well. A single 10km ride from Warden to Bathurst is more than $8!!! That is more than any toll I have ever paid anywhere in the U.S. for such a short distance.

Received a bogus bill in the mail for an old corporation that I closed down 18 months ago. I don't trust this private company.

They should put a notice on their highway signs to warn people that it will cost an arm and a leg to use their private highway road. That highway should be destroyed. It should be better indicated too that it's a paid highway for people not familiar with the place. And their should be more exit to get out of that money trap.

407 ETR is so expensive to use! they should go to the USA and try Toll Freeway. it is much cheaper!!

This highway is good to drive on, but the rates are outrageous, and they have a bunch of add on charges like a fee to send you the bill and a fee just to take a photo of your license plate. I don't understand why the technology that runs the highway warrants it's own fee - these should be built in for transparency in pricing. Especially since this technology has been in place since the highway opened.

This whole system is a disaster that the government should never have released control over.

I came to get a 407 etr transponder. It was a quick and easy process the staff was helpful at answering questions but they could be a little politer.

We need to expropriate the 407. Ontario government needs to simply take it back. Greedy, greedy owners have made enough money. It's sick. They should be charged in a court of law and then locked up. Seriously time for expropriation!

So many people said: too bad there is NO 0 star option - I totally agree.
Sometimes in September of 2019, 407 ETR Company came up with a promotion (available only to selected highway users), ~$60 per month if you use it during rush hours only, Mississauga and Burlington section of the highway.
When I called in to inquire I was told that the promotion is not available to all 407 users and that my options are either to drive during different hours (save 20 cents per trip) or avoid it all together.
Naturally I asked to speak with the supervisor but all were busy at the time. I was promised a call back I think after 4 months of waiting it is safe to assume no one cares to call me back.

Very recently 407 ETR decided to extend the above mentioned promotion and once again only to the same previously selected highway users. Very decent of them (407 staff, upon request I will provide a link to definition of sarcasm).
Fun facts:
- When the section of 407 between Mississauga and Burlington opened, it cost less than $3 per trip, now it costs ~$15. Still have bills to prove this statement.
- I know of more than 20 individuals that take 407 between Mississauga and Burlington. We all work at the same place, same working hours.
- Only 5 individuals were offered the promotion all 5 are not frequent users. Their 407 bill is typically less than the promotional $60 per month.
- None of the everyday users that pay a lot more than $60 per month ($200 to $400) qualified for the promotion.
- Obviously the promotion is an elaborate scam to encourage those who don t spend enough to spend more (once the promotion expires that is).
- It would appear the elaborate scam is not paying off as envisioned hence the promotion extension.

Ridiculous the amount you have to pay for very short distances. This is highway robbery in a province that already taxes you to the max for everything. Shame on them.

Camera charges are ridiculous. But if you get a transponder it's more reasonable. How often you can actually buy time with your money.

Once you receive you bill every month its not hard to hate this road....

I now understand the true meaning of highway robbery. My wife was very ill and we were required to see a surgeon in Brampton as it was a specialized surgery and travelling from Sarnia.
I expected a bill in the mail and when it arrived I was shocked! The fees were absolutely insane and right off the bat they were saying I was past do and that they had 'trouble locating me'... how is that possible since they had my license plate which is associated with my current address.
Next came the multiple threatening phone calls at all times of the day including weekends. I half expected them to be sending mafia style debt collectors to break bones to collect the fees...
Needless to say I paid the bill but I expect they will send one or two more bills claiming interest etc.
Fortunately there are other routes to avoid this road and fees should the need ever arise where we have to travel near the 407 ETR... I highly recommend avoiding this roadway.

Promotions are not consistent with the customers. Different people get different promotions. Not right.

Horrible horrible horrible service.. why must you intentionally rip off hard working ppl who have stayed loyal and payed your ridiculous fees. You double charge all the time what the hell. All this money and technology and you assholes are just getting in bed with the MPs and continuing to get the orders wrong. I hope one day you are forced to clean up your act and actually provide a respectable level of customer service that is expected of a Canadian company in bed with the government. Or maybe you won't.. and in that case.. I hope what goes around comes around.

Its obviously very convenient but with the ridiculous tolls they charge, its just not worth it. I could afford a brand new $25000 car with what they charge me per month. I think toll routes are an excellent way to ensure efficient highway systems but when the monthly charge is like a 21 year olds insurance, I'll just spend the extra 20 minutes each way and save my money.

Best highway in Ontario. The time and stress saved vs alternate routes is well worth the fares, and it is well maintained and further expanding to meet the needs of those who use it. To everyone who is complaining: if you don't feel it is worth it, nobody is forcing you to take it so feel free to sit on the 401. The rates being what they are keep it from being overly-congested, and that right there is why it is worth using. Keep up the great work 407.

Next goal for the 407 should be to raise speed limits on the highway. It's the perfect highway to increase the limit to 120 or 130kph as a trial program for other 400-series highways.

I should add that with the transponder (which is cheap, and additional units even cheaper) there are no video toll charges, and monthly invoices are simply sent online (or by mail if you request that). I have never paid interest, and have never had incorrect charges applied. The system works well, and being able to login online and view all your bills for all your vehicles is fantastic.

ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! truly zero stars. IMAGINE TWICE IN 3 MONTHS THEY " FLAT RATE TOLLED " ME FOR $19.85 BECAUSE THEIR SYSTEM DID NOT PICK UP MY EXIT POINT! WHAT ? I EVEN DROVE ALL THE WAY TO THEIR OFFICE ( 36 KMS NOT VIA 407 ) TO HAVE THE 407 VERIFY MY TRANSPONDER IS OPERATING PROPERLY AND PERFECTLY LOCATED. SO MY AVERAGE TRIP IS CONSISTENTLY $7-$8 AND MY HIGHEST EVER WAS $11, SO IF YOUR (407) EQUIPMENT DOESN'T PICK UP A VEHICLES EXIT POINT THAN CHARGE VEHICLES FOR 1 EXIT OR AN AVERAGE BASED ON PREVIOUS TRIPS. SHAMEFUL, DISGUSTING AND SO MUCH MORE. I CAN'T EVEN DESCRIBE HOW PATHETIC THE 407'S BUSINESS PRACTICES ARE. IMAGINE THE GAS STATIONS COMPUTER SYSTEM WENT OUT/MALFUNCTIONED HALFWAY THROUGH FILLING YOUR CAR WITH GAS - AND THE GAS BAR ATTENDANT ASKED YOU FOR $100 BECAUSE " WE DON'T KNOW WHAT YOU OWE US - SO IT'S NOW A FLAT RATE" WOW- TOTALLY DISGUSTING.

They deserve 0 stars. I am from the States, visiting my father here in Ontario. When I was mapping a route the most direct seemed the 407. I saw it was a toll road, I figured, like I was used to, they would periodically stop you to collect some money. For the short distance I would be traveling (using my father's Ontario registered car) it would be 3 or 4 dollars. Along the way I began to realize there were no toll booths. I figured out there was an electronic system so I figured, "okay, they'll send a bill." Well they sent a bill alright. $11.87 toll charges, 4.00 video chgs, 3.55 acct fee...total. $19.42. Are you serious? The people behind that farce should be in jail.

Being from the states and not familiar with the area, they give you hardly any warning that you will be charged for taking this road. By the time you realize it, you can't not take it. Absolutely horrible for people who don't know, but I'm sure it's great fro the city. Racket system. STAY AWAY FROM 407!

Very expensive toll route, for one trip from buffalo to Toronto I got the bill $64.21 this is unbelievable

I come here everyday to pay my bills or if I have a different concerns but sometimes there's this African lady who gives the waiting ticket & seems to hate me for some reason, like seriously let the staff answer my question. Once you bypass the first person, every other staff's are friendly and caring.

So i get an email promotion for $59.99 a month, wife's friend gets same promotion but only $34.99 a month so I called and they came up with some lame excuse saying they can't offer me the cheaper rate.

Worst customer service ever! I ordered the transponder online, when I called in to speak with customer service, they informed me that they will apply credit for the camera charges; all I have to do is call in when I receive my first bill. Since my first bill wasn't generated he couldn't apply the credit at that time. As directed I called in after I received my first invoice (Toll charges over $700 + Camera charges just over $100); all I was looking for was the credit for the camera charges as promised. At this point, I was told that charges are valid and they wouldn't be able to credit that amount. I told them that I was promised the credit and they simply said there are no notes on the account. Then offered to escalate the call to so called "Office of the president" just to receive the same answer. I even sent them an email in hope that things may change; just to receive quick reply stating they will stand by what I was told by office of the president. So even though I have rented the transponder for the year; I doubt that I will using 407 again.

Too pricy and the rates keep going up constantly. I have stopped taking it unless I have to be somewhere 'on time'. It's not worth taking during the snowy days because you pay and you are stuck in traffic too!

We are a trucking company and HATE this "toll" road. No booths and if you arent watching its real easy to accidentally get on it. Then you get a bill for the tolls PLUS $100 for going on it without a transponder. Our drivers get infuriated. Can't they at least put in a couple toll booths for the innocent out of town people?

Always professional service but paperwork seems a little over the top. Getting a transponder is like signing a mortgage.

The company try so hard (the way they designed the website) to mislead the user online to sign in pre-authorization payment which the action is not ethical.

You cannot trust people who act like this.

What a terrible service the province provided when they gave away this toll road to greedy business interests. We pay far too much per KM for what the drive is really worth. We are getting gouged with the toll fees we pay. Shame on you people. Time for our politicians to take back this roadway and charge a fair fee on a not for profit basis!

Can't say much about the people who work here, because they seem friendly enough for the most part. I think the issue arises with the sheer amount of paperwork involved in any dealings with 407. My goodness, it's like you're working for the IRS or something in this place. Page after tedious page, and the worst thing is the time it takes. Don't walk in here if you need to be in & out in a hurry. Oh no boy, that's not going to happen. Also, fees to use the 407 are ridiculously high, so I recommend just staying the heck off of it. Gyang gyang.
