Really expensive to use the 407 but the roads are good and always fast in rush hour.

Unbelievable! I traveled 72 km unknowingly on a highway that I was being charged for automatically, and received a bill in the mail for $30.77!!!!!! Socialism at it's finest. I feel raped

I'm giving them 5 stars because the staff is phenomenal. I was there at lunch time to pay my bill and I was in and out in 5 minutes. Should we be paying to use the highways that tax payers paid for? Absolutely not, and for that, I would give them no stars if I could, however the staff deserves a 5. They are very friendly, helpful, quick and professionals.

Well, I know I owe them money from tolls and I check my online "account" and I have no balance owing. I cannot call them on a weekend because they're closed, they expect if we want to speak to a real person we must do it during regular work hours when we're trying to earn money to pay them. I get it though, Mike Harris gave you legal highway robbery for 99 years you might as well partake.

Terrible customer service. Always trying to find ways to charge more. Now you get charged monthly without even using the highway. Criminals.

Beats the traffic on the 401 and that alone makes it worthwhile.

They try to get people to use the 407 because with the 401 being a parking lot, they think they'll make a crap ton of money. avoid this highway at all costs, as it is insanely expensive.

Customer service was excellent. Staff was fully trained and very friendly.

Can someone from the company explain why transponder leases are based on calendar year/month instead of leasing start day. There is no reason for billing cycle of all customers to be fixed when no pro-rated lease is considered.

They say but they don t do. Unexplained charges still showing up on bill after customer service promised to remove.

After calling the toll free number dozens of times and never getting a live person I have concluded this is one big cash grab a scam between the company and the government of Ontario I was billed but never used this highway that was built with tax payer money and is maintained with tax payer money that we have to pay to use

They charge you an additional fee if you don't have a transponder... But they also charge you a fee if you do have a transponder. Canadian infrastructure should be owned by Canadian companies. It's our stupid government's fault for selling our road

They keep calling me every 5 days press 1 for Vanessa 2 for Elizabeth. I have never dealt with them in my life I wish these calls would stop I am not from Ontario never been thru any toll bridges etc. I have blocked them it goes straight to voicemail mail saying that exact same thing press 1 for Vanessa 2 for Elizabeth. STOP CALLING ME. IDIOTS

The 5 star rating is for Patricia. She was pleasant to deal with when I went in pay my bill.

As for 407etr, they are a scumbag corporation, milking hard working people.

Fast service, it was about a 15 minute wait before I got served. Staff were very helpful and knowledgeable about their stuff

Had to get a transponder, over all good experience with the staff as they were courteous and filling out the paper work and waiting my turn went fairly quickly.
Why only 2/5 stars, cause I m sick and tired of everyone s hand in my pocket when it comes to transportation and all the schemes government s and private companies come up with for us the public to be able to move safely from point A to B.

Ridiculous costs associated to using this highway. I would not recommend it to anyone.

Just a warning to everybody, that every time you enter the 407 you are immediately charged $1 before you even start your trip. When I called someone from the 407 to explain this she told me it was like jumping into a cab,t every time you get in your charged $3 before you get your drive going. Well I guess the difference is I'm using my gas ,my car and I'm actually driving terrible example. Criminals

Have spent 2 months to remove a plate from my account, still working on it. Stupid company policy and procedure.

Do not go on this highway or any other highway! The cars are travelling at incredibly dangerous speeds of 100 km/h!!!!!

I went in person to file a report because I'm from out of the country and someone had been using my license plate. The person whom I spoke to asked me to fill out paperwork and I did, she wouldn't answer any of my questions. I later called 407 a couple days later (because I had not heard from anyone) via there 1-888 number and found out my paperwork wasn't processed let alone received! The person on the phone than helped me with everything I needed and was very professional and friendly. There in-staff personal should take pointers from there phone representatives.

Its fast but too expensive come up with a way to make it cheaper. Come on you guys make so much money.

it's very frustrating dealing with them. they take forever resolving any issues with anything. it's very unfortunate that we have to pay and use them because sometimes there are no other options.

This road is privately owned by a big shady company that doesn't like to tell us how much they make or pay taxes.The cost to use this road for me for a total of 16km was $11.66. I was literally on the road for four minuites. My advice to you is to AVOID THIS ROAD!!!

Such a big company dealing with millions of automobiles, collecting millions of dollars. why can't you afford to open your office on Saturday?

A total rip-off. Excessive high fees per km. Transponders are being offered for lease promising to save money but they keep the trip till charge of $1 which means that if you commute trough it every day you ll have at less $40 additional to your account every month on top of the $4 plus taxes.

Terrible experience. Just entered it accidentally and exited right away. That were probably the most expensive 1000m I ever drove. I had to pay 10cad for a few seconds on that nonsense highway. It's just insane what they charge. Please make sure you setup your gps to avoid toll roads if you don't want to end up in this money trap...

I don't live in the area so a transponder is not an option.
I used the 407 in Jan of 2020 because the Ontario Government is unable to provide adequate infrastructure to keep traffic moving in the GTA so the public is held for ransom by the ETR. I was charged $24.22 for 32.7 km of use which equates to 74 cents per km! I won't use it again. If zero stars were an option that would be my choice. The Ontario Government must step in to reign in these exorbitant charges.

Don't get why 407 is hated on so much, you pay for efficiency and if you fail to do so then fine. Like they say "Time is money".

Nobody in Canada should have to pay to drive on a road that we paid taxes to build. And then we sell it to a foreign country so they can steal our money????

I have been using Highway 407 Electronic Toll Road for several years now. I am very often happy to pay to use the ETR to avoid heavy traffic congestion on Highway 401. This highway has always been very well maintained, with excellent snow removal. The highway safety patrol is another excellent service provided.

It was my first visit to get a transponder. Friendly & helpful staff, fast service and happy ending!

Clearly someone needs to do a class action law suit against this company. Mostly for "extortion" and "entrapment"as well causing accidents, as trying to watch the signs to turn off that toll road , your speed limit(another law suit as you shouldnt be looking down on that road at all) and trucks (which obviously block all signs) and other traffic trying to pull out of that Extortion Toll Railroad .. if seeing them at all with all the above going on. No wonder so many pile ups. The amount they charge is exorbitant, and then they will drop it down helllooo talk about iffy .Sounds like someone got a good pile of money under the table for this one. Oh an people that dont drive on the 401 usually dont even know where the hey this toll road begins and ends.... but they say it is clearly stated in signs no arrows or booths like normal toll roads not extortion entrapment ones just signs everywhere if you can see them with all the above going on. and yes I am pissed.... and they send it out a month later. and if you have been on the road again doing the same thing you dont know your getting charged again ....did I say extortion and entrapment?????? Do they know the law at all.Its definitely a deterrent for me to not use that highway ever again .

407: built with taxpayers' money, sold at $2.11 per kilometer back to the people forever more... A typical commute to work 5 days a week for 4 weeks = $860 ... Just like paying a finance on a property that no one will ever own. 407 is a scam.

worst customer service support EVER ! I've been trying to dispute an overcharge and a bill that they've sent to the wrong account for 3 months and just keep getting the charges on the same bill. I keep getting reassured it's been resolved and still nothing. Emails, calls ...either one gets you nowhere. It's a shame that this company has no competition or I'm sure they'd handle this better. Watch your bills and try to avoid transferring transponders at all costs !!

Went to get a velcro strip and gave a hassle that the sticker was missing and needed to replace with a new transponder.

Nice atmosphere. Reasonably quick and polite service. Efficient and knowledgeable staff made experience more enjoyable!

Very expensive to use paid toll highway 407 in Ontario.

When I visited this location it was early in the AM about 8:45am and the place was dead. Soon after around 9:30 when I left there was already a crowd beginning to form. Overall I know this place gets very busy and the wait time is long but the service is beyond exceptional, the staff are always very helpful, knowledgeable and always willing to help.

Cheaper than a ticket to Germany. Yes the government should not have sold it off, but the socialists would have fumbled the management and operations so poorly it would be like any other 400 series but overly expensive.

....in the summer.....in the winter- the lack of maintenance is absolutely crazy.

Toll charges can really build up if you use the 407 daily and travel a distance, but the improved traffic (compared to 401, HWY 7, etc) still makes it worthwhile.

Lane widening continues, so traffic volume is well handled at most times of day.

There is a few entrance to 407 definitely has problem. To Ontarian travel routine on the H.W. we may skip the lured entrance to 407. But for traveler from other province, they have NO WAY but lured into the 407, have to travel more wasted distance worse thing is: PAY THE FEE!!!
We have traffic ticket, we go court to claim, if we felt it is not a fair ticket.
To 407: what you can do? nothing. the office just said: PAY!
my families came to Ontario to have their holiday every year. When they are here, they will use my car for traveling. 2016 they were in Markham someplace mistakenly in one entrance and off in the next one. I have no idea of that 407 entrance, so NO COMMENT.
But last year they went to the 407 entrance on 403 and windston churchill. Now this one I can definately say, when they were just open, I by mistake went on three, four times by mistake, because the design, you either watch the turn to Winston Churchill or whoops... you are in 407 and way out to Milton, far away from lake shore you want to go. But as I said, the worse is you have to pay, apparently the design mistake made by 407.
So 2017, my family got into the 407 and one exit out to nowhere.
The 407 is easily can figure out that which is a mistaken, don't they know how upset when the driver came out to an exit that they were not planned to go? 407 can not say they do not know, they should. Once a blue moon year, this car shown up in a debatable 407 entrance way? they know. But they won't do anything, but demand for PAY!!!!!

Well maintained, rarely any construction or traffic issues. Take it every day to work, can't afford to take it home. Visited Portugal for 9 days. Used their toll highways with a rental car, drove everywhere. My bill was less than two 407 trips. _ Essentially I'm paying $11 a day to sleep in. If you're cool with that, hop on.

Trying to deal with customer service is useless. Making any requests through customer service never gets through clearly, which means a lot of wasted time and unresolved issues. Their hours aren't helpful at all, which means I can't get to them in person.

Went there because responder was not working. Was there in the morning and was not busy. The service was OK.

Great looking facility. The staff here is much nicer than the fees they charge for use of the highway. This is where the phrase "highway robbery" was invented for.

!!!! Please be aware of the unlimited promotion that the 407 is offering!!!!! If it this not between certain times of the day, you get charged. I found this promotion very misleading.

The 407's system of cameras coupled with transponders allows for an extremely efficient automatic toll collection system that provides accurate statements of costs.

The highway is convenient, smooth and without traffic jams that enables a faster arrival at one's destination. Although costs can run on the high side, you can save by utilizing it on off-peak hours.

Their customer service is helpful and professional.

I recently received my bill for using the 407 and I was really surprised for travelling 183km my total bill was 92.04. I know you pay for convenience but this makes it unaffordable for me even for occasional use.

My wife accidently entered the 407 ETR highway on the way to Niagara falls. I asked her to exit it immediately. Just for driving one to two kilometers on this toll route, we had to pay around $10. I guess this is the most expensive toll route in the world. So, be aware of their extremely high rates and take precaution to not enter it accidently :-)
