Waited an hour and a half while we walked around downtown (our fault for not making reservations).
Totally worth the wait for the old fashion and oysters from Prince Edwards Island. They were some of THE BEST oysters I've had down this way. The ceviche was also phenomenal!

All male staff, most of them bearded serving some of the best meals in Charleston. The only reason why I'd hesitate going back is to avoid the wait. Everything is fresh and delicious, I'd maybe ignore the lobster roll as it is not significantly better than the alternatives but is priced as such. The oyster po boy taste like it was crossed with general Tso chicken, it is delicious.

This place deserves nothing less than 5 stars. If you are reading this contemplating restaurants in Charleston, look no further because this place is the truth!

We tried roasted oysters, fish tacos, lobster tostada and key lime pie. All were 10/10. I rarely have as much praise for a place as 167 raw. I m talking James beard and all that!!

Our server, Taylor was excellent and well versed on the menu. Very personable and professional.

Again if you don t come here, you are missing out!!

Excellent service, amazing atmosphere, and beyond incredible oysters- probably the best I ve ever had. Not to mention the rest of their menu is unique and delicious, you will not be disappointed. One of my all time favorite spots in Charleston!

Wife and I came here for the Lobster Roll on New Year's. Was excellent. You can't be claustrophobic in here as it is a tiny place. The atmosphere is great, and everyone that was working was very pleasant.

We knew we would have to wait for 2 spots in this very popular oyster bar. We are glad we waited. We enjoyed a Saturday afternoon snack of half dozen of Oysters on the half shell(the sweethearts were our favorites) and the salmon crudo special. 2 glasses of Cava and tip.$75. We will be back.

A quaint and small restaurant that packs a great dining experience for those whom wait. Second time in Charleston and the first time I did not wait. Boy was I quick to err on that decision now that I ve tried their delicious fare. Had Deer Creek Oysters, lobster roll, Tuna slider, ice cream sandwich, accompanied by a refreshing Alberino. Highly recommend!

Lucky to walk up and find it relatively slower on a
Tuesday. Got the last 2 seats at the bar. Great group of guys running 167. Friendly, knowledgeable and on it. Plenty of delicious oysters to choose from. PEI's down to local Perky's. But you CANNOT pass on the lobster roll. If you have to wait, it will be worth it.

The wait was well worth it!!! Tuna burger was just delicious, lobster roll was jam packed with lobster and the housemade toasted roll was awesome, then of course the oysters on the half shell variety was soooooo good!!!

Best seafood restaurant in Charleston. Small place so expect a long wait during peak dining times.

If it s your first time, let the staff guide you on what to eat. Daily specials, fresh oysters, and good wine and beer selections.

We ate here almost a year ago and I've been wanting to come back since. It was as good as I remembered and more. It's a tiny little place so be prepared to wait (maybe seats 20-25ish). We were told an hour wait but with the size of the place you can't really do big parties of people here so many groups left. Lucky for us we were able to get in quicker. If you do have to wait outside - ask the host for a drink menu and they'll bring you something to sip while you wait.
On to the food...raw oysters are on point! They had about 8-10 different options from all up and down the east coast and the board tells you about size and salinity levels. It's hard to have just a dozen when they are so amazing. You can watch them bring shucked right in front of you. We also had the fried oysters and the ahi tuna poke. The food is just amazing - so much flavor and freshness. When you see the size of the kitchen you are even more amazed. Fantastic local beer selection + wine and bubbles. Staff is super friendly. We really enjoyed our 2nd visit to 167 Raw and I'm already tying to plan my 3rd.

This place is the real deal. Simple, expertly prepared dishes with very high quality, local ingredients. Oysters and shrimp are great, but be sure to try their rotating daily ceviche and crudo for something very special.

Guys, if you re looking for fresh and creatively prepared seafood: look no further. This restaurant easily ranked in the top five restaurants I have eaten at in my entire life.

Be warned: the 2 or 3 tables in this hole in the wall are reserved for groups of 3 or more. But that shouldn t deter you from sticking it out for one of the best seafood meals of your life.

We were incredibly lucky to be quickly seated at the bar near the oyster station. We stated our meal with a delicious Maine oyster fresh shucked in front of us, served with the house vinegar based sauce. It was hands down one of the most delicious oyster experiences my dad and I have ever had.

Next up was our lunch of tacos and ceviche. The shrimp tacos were the best of the bunch, but the rotating fresh catch of the day fish taco (flounder) wasn t far behind. Their pork taco was unexpectedly filling and tasty. However, the ceviche was another area in which they shined. Fresh, tender, meaty chunks of halibut in a refreshingly light and not overwhelmingly citrusy broth. It was served with fresh made tortilla chips, and it was divine.

All in all, this restaurant should be at the top of your list for a seafood experience you won t regret.

I rated this restaurant a 5 star because the food is amazing even though they may come in smaller portion sizes. This is not a kid friendly restaurant because they don't have many items that kids will want to eat. We didn't know that going in but I'm not going to knock their relating be a use my kids didn't like their fancy shrimp tacos. This is a small restaurant that is always busy so you will mostly have a wait. It's really good... just leave the kids at home.

This is one of the best spots in Charleston to get fresh seafood. The place itself is like the tiny house of restaurants. It's cozy and attractive what they've done with the small building. Mostly, the food is the star, with friendly staff working furiously to serve.

Food was good but there were so many items on the menu that had no explanation. The drinks menu only told you what was in the martini, none of the other drinks. And it wasn't as if they were self explanatory.

We were very excited to visit 167 Raw. On the night of February 13 at approximately 7:30 we walked up to the host who was standing outside. He was incredibly rude. Basically told us not to even bother because 184 people were supposedly in front of us. They don t take reservations and literally 8 other people were standing outside. He refused to put us on the waiting list. We will never return to 167 Raw. So, we left and walked a few blocks to High Cotton. So happy we did. The place was packed, but we were still seated right away. Very inviting atmosphere, great customer service, live music, and absolutely incredible food. We will definitely be going back to High Cotton.

167 Raw is well worth the wait! My boyfriend and I went and had a wonderful experience. The oysters were beautiful and DELICIOUS. Our drinks were also amazing and our bartender Elliot was fun, helpful, and attentive. My boyfriend and I got the 50/50 Gin Martini and Passionfruit Coquito, as well as the Tuna Burger and Pastrami d Swordfish sandwich. Everything we had was incredible. Highly recommend coming here!!

Always love 167 Raw and this experience didn't disappoint. We haven't been to the new location until now, but I found it really nice to have a bit more room. Scallop po'boy always blows my mind. Bombs potatoes were as good as advertised. Cannot recommend Pink Moon oysters enough.

I have reviewed 167 Raw before in a "dine in" scenario. Now it was take out. They have a special web site for take out and it works beautifully with pictures of each offering. We had planned to eat on the patio of Peninsula Grill but weather stuck us at home. So we ordered the works: guacamole dip, lobster roll, oysters, key lime pie. Everything was excellent. Food was ready slightly ahead of their estimate, quickly retrieved at the door. It was well packaged and presented. Staff at 167 is very professional and polite.

An absolute must for dining in Charleston. It is tiny, and you may have to wait a bit, but it is well worth it. By far, best fish and shrimp tacos I have ever had. Key lime pie will make you weep. There is a reason Bon Apetit and various other foodie mags have written about this place. It is a culinary gem!

This place is phenomenal. Clam chowder, poke, ceviche, and of course the oysters make great starters. The lobster roll is chunky and buttery and served on the classic split roll. Incredible seafood and service.

My husband is an Executive Chef at our business and he was BLOWN away by everything.

The restaurant industry is very hard, the team of 167 Raw deserves a standing ovation!

My husband and I were visiting from out of town today. He d researched a fun tasty place for us to have lunch on a Tuesday afternoon. There was a wait list, which was to be expected. I put our name in and the host/manager asked for a phone number. I obliged and proceeded to wait. After about 20 minutes my husband looked on the iPad, as the manager had stepped away, to see how many more people were ahead of us. That s when when he noticed that the manager had written descriptors of the parties. The party ahead of us: cheetah girls. My descriptor: white shirt chungus. Look the term up if you don t know it. My husband didn t know that term, but I did. Once seated I asked a waiter if I could speak with the manager. That s when I learned the host WAS the manager. I said I understood he might need to be able to identify the parties but that I thought his writing that about me was rude. First he said it wasn t rude, his friends call him that. Then he said it was my husband s fault for looking because the list was confidential. Finally he gave a very tight lipped and short, I m sorry and walked away.

I can t recommend this restaurant. And I find it impossible to believe that a person left to MANAGE the place treats people like this. Day ruined. Thanks 167 Raw.

We had shrimp tacos. Simply, there were the best (I'm from San Antonio). The restaurant is very small and it is packed on weekends. Consider ordering to-go if you're craving good food and have no time to wait bcz the wait is too much.

Great experience. Everyone extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Most important I had the best lobster roll I have ever eaten. Do not be scared away by the wait. They have a great system and things move along. I'll be back.

Awesome food and some of the best fish tacos I've had to date! Will definitely be back to try more items on the menu. The place is very small but I had no wait for the bar area around 2 PM.

My first stop whenever I land in Charleston. Great service with a varied local beer selection.

Fish quality is second to none, always very fresh.

Seating is difficult to get since it only seats like 15 people. Worth the wait for a good lunch.

Truly one of the best spots in Charleston. We got a seat at the bar and chatted to the chefs as they made our food. We had the lobster roll, fish taco, prawn taco and half a dozen oysters. I would recommend them all. Only downside is the lack of seating - be prepared to wait, but it's worth it!

From the warm and efficient greeting to the wonderful service at the bar, this place is amazing. The wonderful selection of seafood and tasty dishes won us over. Reasonable portions allow for sharing or ordering a few dishes.

I will return and just eat a bunch of fresh oysters. The scallop poboy is tasty. Bustling spot takes no reservations. Parking can be challenging if you chicken out and decide not to park in the teeter s across the street.
