Stopped in while visiting Charleston and I must say it was a nice place. Their crispy oysters are to die for!

Great raw oysters, fun service, great fish sandwich!

Out of a 5 day trip to Charleston, this place was our saving grace. The food, service, drinks, and ambiance were all top notch! We stopped in for an early dinner, sat at the bar, and had some amazing oysters! The crab dip with curry was amazing, and the drinks were out of this world!

The next day we decided to go to a crab shack near market street for lunch and we were EXTREMELY disappointed in the food. Mid lunch, we stopped eating, paid for our meal, then decided to redeem our lunch time and go back to 167 Raw! We had to get more oysters, but then we shared a lobster roll and swordfish sandwich that were both out of this world. This place is our new Charleston tradition! Needless to say, we'll be back!!!!

Ate there Friday evening for dinner. The server was awesome! He had so many recommendations that s we literally said surprise us . He brought out a lobster roll, tuna burger, roasted oysters and a swordfish sandwich. All of it was absolutely delicious. I have lived here 25 years and could not believe what I have been missing out on. I will be highly recommending 167 raw to all of my fishing charter clients.

Hands down, my favorite restaurant in Charleston. The lobster roll is incredible...as is pretty much anything else on the menu. Super fresh, clean oysters and raw bar, daily selections in addition to what's on the menu, excellent beer and wine options, and the staff are friendly and knowledgable. It's not unusual to see a line outside, but it is worth the wait!

My husband and myself was in town working. I'm a private car dealer and we picked up a car that we had to do a little work on. Now with that being said we was not dressed up. We walked up to the host and he just stared at us, never said a word. I finally ask if they was open since I seen people inside. He said yes we are very rudely. Then just stood there looking at us. I then said can we get a table he looked me up and down and with a I'm better than u are voice said you sure can. It was a horrible experience and will never come back. Even while we was there the servers looked at us like we was poor freaks and was rude. On a side note the food was not that great. I wont be back because of the way we was treated.

Great food (lobster roll, stone crab, key lime pie). Cool atmosphere. Better service.

Food was wonderful, but make sure you get in line before they open. I'd you're not near the front of the line you'll be waiting a while.

Awesome food. Sat in front of the kitchen and participated in a shrimp vs carnitas taco battle where there was no loser.

That tuna burger is delicious. I would avoid the fried oyster basket. Quality seafood, great service, and well worth the wait.

This place was recommended to us by a friend and we're so glad we went here. The restaurant is small, but it is delicious. We sat outside even though it was sprinkling a little bit and we still enjoyed every single bite. Get the lobster roll. It's to die for!

Wow! What amazing food!! This place came highly referred to us. We got there at 12:45 on a Thursday afternoon and there was already an hour wait. Now I know why.

After a slight mixup by the hostess, which he later apologized for, we were seated after just shy of 2 hours. Let me just say, it was worth the wait. We had oysters, pork and shrimp tacos and a lobster roll. All were absolutely superb.

They also served us some beer just outside of the door during the wait, which was not only legal, but also highly appreciated considering it was 95 degrees today.

This was my favorite restaurant in Charleston so far. Highly recommend to anyone looking for a cool atmosphere with great food and really good service.

Best oyster bar downtown, beautiful ambiance, informative and friendly staff, best of the best

My husband and I came from out of town, and we wanted fresh seafood. 167 Raw reviews were amazing. Unfortunately, we never got to try it because we were given a bogus wait time. A large party was just seated, and there was only 1 couple waiting in front of us. No one else. We were told our wait time would be an hour and 15 minutes. If it was due to reservations, then the website needs to be updated. It currently says that they were not taking reservations. I also tried to call to double check and/or find out wait time. They never answered. The hostess did not make any eye contact and was not warm and welcoming. I happily took my money somewhere else.

10 out of 10 would come here every single day. Staff is great, cocktails are amazing, and the food is just wow! Every.single.time.

Made a quick weather stop on our way N on the ICW, love Charleston, never disappoints.
167 Raw is a great establishment. We were greeted at the door and immediately seated(3:30 pm).
All staff were very professional, attentive, and pleasant. Ordered an ale, Bomba potatoes, and a fish taco. The potatoes were very good, and I would have given it 5 stars if the fish taco had one more piece inside particularly for the price.
Overall I would return and maybe try another dish, I trust the chef and staff!

Anything off the raw bar is perfe t. Lobster roll is a must! Prepare to wait but oh so worth it!

Best oysters in Charleston. Well worth the wait. Be prepared to wait! Walk down the street to one of the many bars in the area, after you put your name in, and have a drink.

Fantastic lunch here. Excellent sandwiches, cool environment, very fresh. Lobster rolls, fish sandwich and shrimp Po boys were excellent.

Amazingly fresh seafood, great beer selection and friendly bartenders. We will come back here every time in Charleston! see you guys in Nantucket in 2018

Good food, high quality oysters, but a bit expensive. Be warned...there may be hipsters.

Fresh seafood presented well. We had the crab soup, oysters, lobster roll, tuna burger, fish taco and pork taco. Everything was great. Lobster roll is a must have and the pork taco was the surprise of the evening. The chef said it best, the pork taco is the dark horse of the menu.

The scallop po boy is one of the best things I've ever eaten. I went back for another before catching my flight out of Charleston, it's that good.

Pricey but the seafood couldn't be any fresher. Worth the wait for seating and the price

Granted, my review comes with a bit of bias because I have traveled throughout the United States and have tried the some of the best tacos in every place.

In terms of food the ceviche was decent, but the tacos were lacking in flavor. You know you re having good tacos when you don t have to order a side of Sriracha. In terms of service, if I am paying five dollars plus for tacos I expected more gregarious service.

My server was literally very brief with my friend and I while he was slightly more chatty with the party next to us. I ve literally gone to barbecue houses and had wonderful conversations with my bartenders and servers for half of the price of what I paid for one drink at 167 Raw. This is especially disappointing since I m from NY and love to interact with locals to understand where I m staying. This is not coming from that economical standpoint but as far as a service point.

As far as vibe, it was friendly but it wasn t as inviting as I thought it would be. I think the most engagement I had was with patrons sitting next to my friend and I. Overall it s more hype and anything else. There s just too much that is wanting to say I ve enjoyed myself at 167 Raw.

One of the best seafood restaurants in the city. Lobster roll is the best you can expect to find outside of the Northeast. Can never go wrong with ceviche and oysters - great drink selection as well.

Have been there many of times and just keep coming back... Always good.. Never disappointed... Guacamole and chips are superb... Bunch of great guys who bust ass!

Great little spot. Small, busy and usually have to queue but well worth the short wait. (Plus they serve beer while you are waiting outside) best lobster roll and oysters! Good service.

Excellent food...the shrimp & pork tacos are fantastic. Chips & guacamole perfect. It's a small & cozy place. Be prepared to wait to be seated...even weeknights we waited approximately 30 min. Great atmosphere.

So delicious! They offer catch of the day as well as stable menu items. I ordered 2 specials (Chilled corn bisque w/ crab & 1/2 lb stone crab claws) and 1 stable item (lobster roll). They are all so fresh and tasty! Definitely would recommend it.

The wait line is so damn loooooong and it wasn t even worth it. Just wasted 50 minuets of my life!

The food is good and the people are friendly. The drawbacks are the size of the place and the wait. We were seated for 2 people after almost an hour but I watched parties larger than that still waiting after we had eaten and were leaving. We ll be back, definitely, but not with a large party.

My husband and I are locals so going downtown to eat is not something we do often . Today we decided that we were going to try 167 Raw. The reviews looked like we could not go wrong. We arrived around lunch and knew we would be in for.a wait which we did mind , after all it s a beautiful day and we were not in a hurry. Upon arrival the gentleman taking names was somewhat rude to my husband but again didn t really bother us, maybe he was having a bad day. We were told it would be 45 -1 hr wait. We sat outside and watch people come and go . There was a 4 top seated before us which I understand due to space but then there were two other couples that came after us that were seated before us. . I inquired about it and was told that they were there before us but had went down the street to have a few drinks and then came back . I call BS ! You serve alcohol why would someone go somewhere else to drink? You may have today s dollar from your well manicured tourists today but you will not have tomorrow s dollar with the locals. I don t car how good your food is , if you don t give great customer service I will not be coming to your establishment.

Perfectly shucked oysters, excellent shrimp and fantasticly attentive staff.

Quick stop in Charleston on our way home to Florida and the food did not disappoint. Food and service were excellent. Raw oysters were amazing and pls try all the tacos because they were so good. Make sure to eat the key lime pie too (best key lime pie ever). Worth the wait for sure

A gem of a restaurant. Everything is fresh and delicious. Staff is wonderful.

We walked by this place in the morning and saw 5-6 people waiting by the door at 10:40 am, so later in the day when looking for a spot for lunch we decided to give it a try. It was 1:00 or so on a Friday afternoon and our wait was about 35 min, which wasn't bad at all, especially because we were able to order drinks outside while we waited. Between us, we had oysters, a couple tacos (fish and shrimp) and the scallop po boy, all of which were great. Delicious, fresh seafood in a small, unique setting.

Great small restaurant with unique beers and food as well. Definitely go for the scallop po boy, it was unique and the combination of juicy scallops and fried texas-toast-like bread mad the perfect sandwich. They had about 8 different oysters available and it was fun to sit at the bar and watch them get shucked. The fish taco was good as well but not as good as the po boy or crudo.

Six stars. Shrimp tacos are divine. There was a 45 minute wait for one person (the place is tiny) so I got em to go and they came out in five minutes.

Although the place is small and the wait can be very long. It's worth the wait! The food and the staff were amazing. I enjoyed every bit of it and would definitely go back again

A MUST in Charleston! We ate here our first night and were blown away. Fresh seafood, friendly servers, cozy atmosphere. We were so happy we just kept ordering more and more. We will be back very soon, what a gem. We ordered the halibut ceviche, pastrami'd swordfish sandwich, trout soup, wreckfish crudo and French oysters... all wonderful.

Had a great meal at this tiny but very high quality restaurant. Would give it five stars if we weren't hurried up and reminded that there was a line of people waiting to get in. Now, we we're ordering raw bar and wine by the bottle. Our check for the two of us ended up coming to $174. Exactly what would we need to do as customers to "buy" those seats for a few hours? Note to owner: time to find a bigger space.

GO TO 167 RAW. We took a GF trip to Charleston for the weekend. This "first come first serve" is WELL worth the wait!!! We had 3 dozen oysters. Try the Capitals and the Onset. The ceviche. Yes, please. We've had ceviche all over Central America and this is just as good. The lobster roll is to die for. Split it so you can taste it and not miss anything else. Chat with Gordon. He's the man! He's a chef here. He is super friendly and amazingly in tune with what you are looking for before you know it. Trevor (Taylor) and Greg are awesome too. Say hi to them. Nick is the dancer in the kitchen - catch a show. Also, 167... how do we buy the striped shirts?!

Best kept secret in South Carolina! The consistency was great & authentic.

Food is great, but not worth the price and wait times in my opinion. Wait times are usually 1 hour or longer, the location isn't ideal, and parking is difficult. Overall I had a pleasant experience, but I think you can easily get better food for cheaper at many restaurants in Charleston.

The Big Boy, swordfish taco, pork taco and shrimp taco - all shared between friends. It blew our minds how tasty each bite was. I've been traveling to Charleston for 10 years now and think this restaurant beats any of the big name restaurant in town! A must not miss!

This place has amazing seafood. Very simple menu but extremely fresh. A bit on the pricey side, but well worth what you pay for..

Scallop Po' boy was amazing. Wait staff was very helpful as well.

Awesome raw oysters all day (not just after 4pm) and amazing sandwiches! It's very small inside so be prepared to wait. Thankfully we went at an off hour so the wait wasn't bad and the food was totally worth it.

This was an amazing meal. I would absolutely go back in a heartbeat. The food was incredible (see ceviche and fish sandwich). The staff was friendly, outgoing and prompt. We had to wait a little before we were sat but it was so worth it and not inconvenient at all. Highly highly recommend it

Very beautiful and trendy raw bar. The oysters were large, fresh, and incredibly flavorful. The contemporary atmosphere was fresh and exciting. Staff was friendly. Worth it, but be prepared to pay premium prices.

If you want some good shellfish and the best damn tuna poke in town then this is your place. There is a reason people are lined up out the door every night.

Tonight, there was no way to get a table with the wait list being 70+ deep. The host (very handsome, listen up ladies) recognized me from the ONE time I was here previously, 4 MONTHS ago. Yea. Let that stew for a sec. Offered to get food to-go. I placed my order, had food in 12min, and 10min after that I was eating the freshest tuna in town at a table on Market Street while listening to this saxophone player learn some Bruno Mars song. Tuna was so fresh it was trashing around against my molars. I barely even had to chew, fish did most of the work.

If you are at all contemplating going to this establishment, just stop for a second and think about the contents of this review. The correct choice is obvious: go to 167 Raw and have an experience you will talk about with your buddy everytime you come back.

Such a great place. Everything from the Oysters, Shrimp Tacos, Lobster Rolls, Tuna Burgers and Shrimp Po' Boys are the best in town. As someone who grew up on Nantucket it's always a nice taste of home to eat here. Hands down a must stop for anyone in Charleston. Jesse has done an amazing job across the board here.

Incredible place for oysters and other seafood (as long as you don't mind a very intimate setting). What it lacks in physical space, it more than makes up for in charm and service.

Staff were shockingly rude on the phone. Was looking forward to visiting but definitely changed my mind after that encounter.

Not a huge seafood guy being from the Midwest. Stopped here by chance on a work trip. Food, service, and atmosphere were top notch. Never thought I d insist on stopping at the same spot 3x on a 2 day trip for a lobster roll and lobster tostada (Again, not a seafood guy). Cannot emphasize the quality of service enough. Every staff member we dealt with had a ton of knowledge and suggestions from the menu, which makes seafood not as intimidating for a guy like me. It was truly impressive. Charleston is great and I felt I needed more than 2 days. When I come back to visit, this place will be a big reason why!

This little spot serves up a great selections oysters, great ceviche, and one of the best lobster rolls I've tried! Seating is extremely limited so expect to wait, but if you have the time you won't be disappointed. Excellent service and cozy yet vibrant atmosphere.

Best Raw Bar in Charleston Area.
Having been several times in 167 Raw always with excellent results, I have returned once again to enjoy an incomparable meal.

The only problem is the small size of the place what is always always full, so I recommend you go ahead on time and ready to wait as they do not accept reservations.

This place is where locals go. I had their lobster roll and it was excellent. It had a hint of lemon aoli and that made it so delicious.
My husband had a ahi tuna burger sandwich , and loved it. The fish was so fresh and although I never eat oysters, the lovely lady sitting next to me is a local and told me what the guy did to prepare them was very unique. He cut under the muscle so they slide right out of the shell with the good part! This place is was a Delicious, first night in Charleston treat!

Great drinks, wonderful food, quick service mad a very inviting atmosphere make this a great pick for a fast lunch on lower King Street.

My Son and fried gave it a five. They love Raw Seafood. I absolutely loved both types of shrimp. Why a 4? The outside waiting area could be taken up a notch. Drinks, counter to lean on. These guys set the bar. Must try.

Small place, huge flavor. There's not much I cannot recommend on this menu, so I'll walk through my last amazing experience. The white sweet potato, celery root, leek, and trout roe soup was not your run-of-the-mill potato soup - it packed a lot of flavor in a small package. This was followed by the main attraction. "The Lobster Roll". This is by far the best lobster roll I've ever had in my life. Every bite is generously endowed with a plentiful amount of lobster, coupled with this phenomenal bread. Both were so delicious, I could not decide whether the bread or the lobster were what made the dish.

Come here. Expect a bit of a wait at peak times, but the staff is great and will serve you drinks while you wait for this experience.

Worth the wait to eat here! Although if you want to be seated first make sure to arrive as early as possible since the line starts to form ~an hour before they open. I had the swordfish taco (special of the day) and the shrimp taco. I'd recommend these over any other taco place around! My friends had been here before and they all got the lobster roll because it's apparently the best around. Quick & friendly service and unique dishes that you can't get anywhere else in Charleston make 167 Raw a must-eat spot if you're downtown!

Hands down...the best place to eat! Oysters, tuna burgers, and lobster rolls. Homemade pickles are also amazing!

Despite of no reservation policy and lots of people standing outside and waiting to get in (which is kind of stressful), I loved this location. Once inside there is not stress at all, attentive waiters and most importantly very delicious food. Excellent.

The oysters were delish. They had a large assortment of very fresh oysters to choose from. We also had the crab dip and the shrimp toast. Everything was amazing. I also recommend the fingerling potatoes.

Service, staff, atmosphere, and THE FOOD is all above and beyond! My wife and will drive 4 hours to Charleston get a hotel for 1 night, wait out front for sometimes over an hour, eat here twice and come home... It's that good. We travel and eat as much as our bank accounts will allow us and this is hands down the best restaurant we have ever experienced. Get a daily special but DO NOT deprive yourself of a scallop poboy! 5 stars doesn't come close to how great I think this place really is. THANK YOU 167 RAW!
