Very tasty food in a cool atmosphere. Get here ear...
Very tasty food in a cool atmosphere. Get here early and you won't have to wait long. Highly recommend the seared tuna taco and the ceviche.

Totally awesome.. like da bomb...Great oysters and mahi mahi
Crab rolls here were really good, pricey, but really, really good
This place is wonderful for a quick bite and drink. Very small so parties of 2 or 3, no kids works best.
Amazing raw seafood!!! Bailey was awesome to answer all of our questions. Eat something they suggest... The NZ duo was fantastic. Can't say enough how good this food is.
You may have to wait a while but the food is worth it. Small on the inside but very comfortable. Just go. You'll love it.
A co-worker had attested that 167 Raw was the best lobster roll she had ever had. Willing to test the theory, we put it on our Charleston to-do list. Only minutes after opening, there was already a mob of people waiting. There must have been 12 seats max in there. I asked to be put in line and was told it was over an hour wait. Instead, they were able to do a take out option so we ordered the $30 lobster roll. We were amazed when we opened the box at the sight of this lobster roll so much lobster! No filling at all, just succulent lobster. The bread was a nice thick cut, toasted and slathered in butter. We could not be happier eating this on a side street under a lamp post. I can only imagine what a full dining experience must be like here!
Totally OVERRATED food. Don t wait 1h in line for regular food (at an expensive price). Choose something else! :)
Fantastic taste of Charleston. Plenty of atmosphere, friendly staff, and great food. Recommend the lobster roll, guacamole, and fish tacos.
Hands down best seafood from our weekend trip to Downtown Charleston. Super fresh, well prepared, beautiful presentation, flavorful, and balanced. Oysters were fresh and delicious, ceviche is a must, salad was so pretty and dressed to perfection, salmon was cooked just right, and the lobster roll was everything you could want. Service was also amazing. It s a small restaurant but they are obviously focused on quality over quantity.
Raw is wonderful! Great staff and service . Delicious food . Only a few tables and a bar . We sat at the bar ,tightly tucked in. I had a refreshing draft Ipa and the crispy oysters . The crispy oysters were fabulous. Had a sweet Asian sauce on them with these tiny red peppers . Wonderful. Highly recommend
I wish I could give this place 10 stars. The food was so good and the service was outstanding. The waiter could describe all the dishes so well and was very knowledgeable. He was also very great with our kids and his recommendations were perfect. The oysters were fresh and so good. The lobster roll was really good. We ordered Connecticut style with just butter but they normally serve Maine style with a little mayo. The poke and guacamole was very good and we also had a swordfish sandwich that was cooked like pastrami. Hard to describe but it was very good. They had a good beer selection on draft and a good wine selection also. They don't take reservations so expect a long wait but it's well worth it. You can order drinks while you wait and the service is great. I'd definitely go back.
167 Raw has the best seafood in Charleston. I love the lobster rolls and the crispy oysters. Fantastic place all around!
Small but what a pleasant surprise for lunch. Had the lobster roll, it was fantastic. Definitely will go back when I am in the area.
I really think this might have been one of our favorite stops when we were in Charleston. We stumbled on 167 Raw almost on accident when another nearby seafood place didnt quite have what we were looking for. The drinks were so good and the food was great. We only had appetizers and drinks but I would come back in a heartbeat.
We were planning to go Blossom's or Magnolia's for some clams, oysters, etc. A local suggested Raw 167. It was AWESOME!!! Tried several raw items, lobster roll, crisp oyster basket. All were top notch. Gotta go there.
Delicious food and great sevice. Oysters were tasty and fresh. Tuna tataki was also on point.
Yes there is a long wait but when you're drinking a glass of wine and not focused on the wait, it makes the experience of eating there much more enjoyable. The food was simply amazing! Super fresh and super tasty. The swordfish was amazing and even though it's not from Maine, the lobster roll was delectable. The staff was great and you get a sense that they truly enjoy preparing and serving this delicious food. Would happily wait again for another meal at 167 Raw
If you are looking for fresh seafood prepared just right, then this is the place! Try the tuna burger! Go early or after big lunch rush.
Great local seafood place! Venue is super tiny, but I knew that ahead of time and was able to get in before the Sunday lunch rush. The tuna burger was really, really flavorful. As someone who doesn't typically prefer rare meat, the tuna burger was surprisingly tasty despite it going against my typical preference. Definitely will return in the future.
Absolutely amazing Seafood, superb service Michelin level absolutely!
I had the shrimp tacos and ceviche both were delicious! Cool spot but very tiny inside there is additional seating outside. Great place for dinner and drinks.
Hands down one of the best restaurants I ve ever been to, and definitely the best seafood place I have been to... if you like oysters I challenge you to find fresher, colder more perfect ones than these. Simple but amazing menu with favorites like lobster roll and pastrami d swordfish sandwich (maybe the best sandwich I ve ever had!), scallop po boy, roasted oysters and ahi tuna ! The space potato is outrageously good !! Lobster pot pie is insane... Awesome wine list with wide variety of selections from all over the world. Everything is stellar including the craft cocktails and the staff / service are essentially flawless. Usually a long wait but it s worth it. Put your name in and go have a drink nearby (they are opening a new spot right around corner on Fulton where soon you will be able to have apps / cocktails while you wait). Cheers to 167 Raw !
Very small, but great food. I wouldn't bother trying to get a table unless you can get a reservation. They do do carryout which works great. The lobster roll was delicious, and I would highly recommend.
The food and conversation with everyone (especially the chefs Tyler & Russ) was FANTASTIC! Best. Seafood. Ever.
p.s. Ladies, there isn't one bad view in the place.
This was the best restaurant we ate at while in Charleston. There are 24 seats total. Arrive early, at least 30 min prior to open or be prepared to wait, but let me tell you, so long as you like seafood, you will thoroughly enjoy 167 Raw. We had shrimp cocktail, tuna crudo (to die for, let go of your raw fish hangups and enjoy this dish), the feature market entree salad which was Salmon today... so good! My husband had the shrimp taco and the feature taco which was swordfish... both delicious! We will come back the next time we are in Charleston, for sure.
Customer service is obviously a premium for everyone on this team...Not to mention the food is amazing. The service makes it memorable!!
Best lunch spot in Charleston if you like raw eats. We ordered 5-6 things off menu and all were exceptional. Worth the wait...we waited over an hour.
Amazing food, great atmosphere. Expect a 30 to 45 minute wait.
If you are coming for local oysters, get here early - otherwise they have other non-local oysters on deck. The staff serves up flirty feel good vibes and set a notably upbeat atmosphere. Drink curation is amongst the best of Charleston - enticing you with nuanced wine, beer and ciders to blur the line you will inevitably wait in. Skip the specials and stick with the rich rolls.
Every aspect of our experience here was amazing!! From the hostess, to our server and the food - it was a fantastic evening!
Had the pastrami swordfish, scallop PO boy, cervich. All were awesome! Great staff and great service
Long wait,so,have glass of wine outside! Fried oysters are fantastic! Great food, not cheap!
Arrive before they open, wait in line for hours, just do whatever you have to do to eat at 167 Raw. It is simply the best seafood.
The oysters arrive fresh every morning and are perfectly prepared. The lobster roll is out of this world delicious. The bun is buttery and toasted to perfection. The don t skimp ok the lobster either. There are huge chunks and they don t hide it behind a bunch of other ingredients. They let the freshness of the lobster stand on its own.
Do whatever you can to get in the doors at 167 Raw. It s worth it!
Some of the best seafood I've ever had but the service could use improvement. Didn't seem welcoming.
First impressions are everything! The host took 5 minutes just to look up at us to ask how many people in your party! He was just on his phone- establishments need to really pick carefully on the first face customers see and encounter for their business. Needless to say we did not go inside and left!!
One of the best food experiences I ve had. Ordered the lobster roll and the special pastramid swordfish sandwich. Both were incredible accompanied with some sangria. The attentiveness of Mason was also much appreciated. Worth the $$$
The reviewed don't do this place Justice!!!!! Amazing maybe life changing food that's classic and approachable but delivered in an amazing manner.
1. Buy the house wine and don't cheat yourself.
2. The scallop poboy, I know it sounds crazy, but for the love of everything holy.
3. It's a bit pricey, six dollars for a taco but it kinda reminds me of a tasting menu. However this was the best meal we've had in recent memory.
4. Sit at the bar, Alex the bartender really help our experience. His bar side service was on point.
I could do another 6 points but you get the idea. Very few places are with the wait...167 Raw is with the wait and set the bar high for our food adventures in Charleston.
Corey
Definitely one of the best oysters I had here in Charleston. It's a tiny place but worth the wait ! We had oyster from British Columbia and they were the best ever !
We went on a Monday afternoon around 3pm. The wait time was around 20 minutes. Our waiter seemed a bit in a rush when serving us but really patient when chatting with two young ladies at the bar. The food was OK but not worth the wait. I definitely had better lobster rolls and oysters in Boston. The crispy oysters tasted too sweet and the raw oysters had a bitter taste (we ve had better raw oysters at the crab house). The stone crab claws were good but really pricey: 3 claws for 22 dollars. During our entire time, no one asked us how was the food. One waiter took away the napkins and started cleaning our table while my friend was not even finished. So...1.5 stars for the food, 0.5 stars for the service.
I will not recommend this place and will not visit again.
Best lobster roll I have had. Haven't been up to Maine though
Sweet and refresing. Great service as well. Tiny joint with only 24 seats. We got right in as we went about 230pm. If you go during meal times you can expect 1/2 hour to 1 hour wait. Food is great. Special today pastrami swordfish sandwich. Flavors were like a light Rubin sandwich with a juicy swordfish taste. Also had the shrimp po boy with a sweet beet brown butter vinaigrette. AWESOME!. Oysters were great as well.
We have been eating lobster rolls almost all my life
And yes there is never a bad lobster roll anywhere
But this was the best ever. And using raw 137
To set the bar for all time
If I could would go there everyday however with all that amazing butter you would not live long enough
But u must enjoy this place st least once in An lifetime
For the best ever moment can t say anymore
Nice atmosphere and great food. A bit light on portions. Maybe a bit spendy for this Florida boy
Small, busy place with an incredibly long waitlist and no where to wait. We left before we were seated.
The best super fresh oysters, swordfish pastrami, clams on the shell & key lime pie totally worth the wait.
I ll totally come back to this place.
OMG...soooooooo mad at myself for NOT getting the Lobster Roll. I am particular about my bread and was worried about getting it...I should have just ordered it; the guy next to me ordered it and I was jealous. Not to say my Scallop Po' Boy was not excellent, it was...DELICIOUS! It is one of the reasons I was jealous because the bread was the same as the roll...and...it was so good. Crispy on the outside, crunchy...yummy...then soft! You know what I am saying if you like your bread like I do. I did get some Shrimp Cocktail too, it was nicely chilled and the cocktail, it was just the right amount of kick. Go, enjoy and GET THE LOBSTER ROLL!!
Been here multiple times , love the food and atmosphere . You can't go wrong eating here.
Very good food, cocktails, and desserts with excellent service.
Great service!! Food was amazing - had the scallops po-boy, swordfish tacos, and fresh oysters. I gave the place 4 stars instead of 5 due to the limited space of the restaurant - only a couple tables and the ambiance is a bit crowded during dinner. I'd give 4.5 stars if I could.
Amazing! Friendly folks, the greatest oysters and key lime pie.
By far the best experience I have ever had eating oysters. I bellied up to the bar and couldn't stop eating the most delicious fresh oysters I have ever come across. I have been searching for a similar experience and have been found wanting. Man I wish I didn't live 4 hours away. Definitely give them a try. You will be glad you did.
Absolutely delicious! Oysters amazing, lobster roll double amazing
Pastrami swordfish sandwhich was the best fish sandwhich i have ever had! Pork and shrimp tacos were also top notch, highly recommend!!!
The food at 167 Raw was out of this world delicious. Fantastic seafood. The lobster roll and the tuna burger were so fresh and flavorful. My husband and I visited the best restaurants in Charleston during our trip, and 167 Raw landed in the top tier. Fun and refreshing twist on the margarita. This place has a modern and laid-back, yet classy atmosphere. I wish I could give this place more than five stars!
Great food and service.
The restaurant is small but very nicely decorated. We loved having the bar seating and kitchen table seating so you can watch as the magic happens.
The staff was extremely friendly and attentive making it a great start for our experience.
We ordered raw oysters which they did a fantastic job selecting based on our taste. We also ordered the basket of fried oyster. The menu did not do justice to how good the oysters were. They were fried and covered in an amazing sauce. For our main we split the two house hold favorites, the tuna burger and the lobster roll. They were both amazing so I'm not sure which one was my favorite. Highly recommend splitting if you are there with2 or more people.
I went here for my birthday to try oysters for the first time. The gentleman serving us was very knowledgeable and recommended many good options. The price was a bit high, but the food came out fast and it was delicious. Very, very good service.
This is great place to grab a quick bite. The Lobster Roll is delicious!
10 hour pulled pork taco. yum
attentive bar
One of my favorite places to send friends/family. The simple, yet robust menu features a few great always on the menu bites (personal favorites are Tuna Burger & Sea Scallop Po Boy) with a rotation of fresh options depending on the catch (think ceviche). Selection of oysters is also usually fantastic. Big fan of the new location on King Street as well.
If there's a con, you can't get a res and it's first come first serve. So, you'll likely wait, but when you're good you can get away with. My rec would be to put in your name and simply head down King for a cocktail or glass of wine while you wait (Bin 152 is my go to).
Fresh and tasty food, great beer and good atmosphere!
Definitely worth the wait. Small, but cozy with very unique menu selection. Poke and ceviche were outstanding.
A little confused when we arrived, but the bartender/greeter/waiter/photographer had everything managed. Took a while, but he brought drinks out to us and the other guests while we waited. He was very much bang, bang, bang. As in 'they are leaving, your table will be ready in one minute, your table is ready, you sit here' but for 6 different groups all at once. It was pretty intense how well organized he maintained the chaos. That was just the greeting.
Girlfriend loves oysters. She got a dozen mixed variety (5 types and they were explained to her). I tried a couple, my first, and they were good. Didn't care for the vinaigrette they provided with it. She also got the clam chowder. It was great. I got the tuna burger. It was great. They served it with some not so great chips. So if any complaints it would be that. That restaurant seems better than that.
It's a small establishment. We went on the day before Valentine's and during a wild life festival so everything was expected to be packed. There was always a consistent wait. Our waiter not very available (just enough where it could be good that he wasn't in our business or bad that he wasn't available at a moment's notice).
Overall, this was a FANTASTIC restaurant that set the tone for the rest of the night.
Food was awesome and the service was even better if that's even possible.
Definitely worth the hype and the wait. Great staff and fantastic seafood. Perfect for a small party (2 people, 4 at the most). Reasonably priced and highly recommend.
This 5 star makes me want to go back and rate all my other 5s a 4. Definitely one of the best restaurants I ve ever been to. Incredible food, great staff, amazing.
Food was epic. Oysters were delicious. Ceviche and crudo were excellent. The tataki, I'd only change the cucumbers to asian pears but still amazing. Service was the highlight. Always checked on us and made sure we were doing great frequently. Will definitely be back again soon and highly recommend to anyone reading!
Slurp slurp, service was fantastic and very friendly answering our northern questions. The oysters were delicious
You will wait 25 minutes to an hour to squeeze into a small bar to eat here. And its 100 percent worth it. The oysters are excellent, and always order a lobster roll. Great service, good drinks, excellent sea food. A must visit in Charleston
Excellent, delicious food. By far though, the service was outstanding. Super fast with a complicated order and the somehow managed to keep it clean and the plates coming regularly.
Ask for Justin. He s a no-doubter for service if you want to enjoy your dinner. Definitely will be back when I m in town.
Awesome little place (and I mean small - very limited seating). Their food is very fresh - served within days of being caught instead of weeks. We had a variety of oysters and they were all good especially with their dressings options. The Ceviche and Fish Tacos were also quite good. There was a lot of fish to filler ratio in the Ceviche. I will definitely come back. Watch out though as they can get quite the line some nights. I would love to see them open up a second place with a lot more seating and keep the very fresh seafood of course.
This place is great. We discovered 167 Raw in April. The oysters are so fresh and the lobster roll with the special bun they use is better than the ones we had during our two week trip to Maine last year. Joshua served us at the bar today and did his usual great job. We dined on Ginger spiced shrimp gazpacho, Wellfleet oysters and lobster rolls. All this paired with their terrific house white wine was amazing. This is one of our favorite restaurants on the east coast.
Crazy busy at mid afternoon, decided to order togo GREAT picnic lunch. Highly recommend scallops po'boy
A must go in Charleston! It s worth the wait even if it s waiting for an hour. The whole restaurant only seats 24 people at a time and doesn t take reservations. The food is phenomenal- best seafood I have had in Charleston. Best po boys I have ever had anywhere! The service is impeccable, the food is out of this world fresh and delicious- you can t go wrong with anything! We had the crispy oysters, shrimp and fish tacos, lobster roll and scallop po boy. The scallop po boy is not to be missed! Finish with a slice of key lime pie! I can t wait to come back to Charleston just to eat here!!!!
The tuna poke is what pushed them into the 5 star. It's a great oyster bar and I liked that their dozen oysters came with 3 different varieties. I wasn't in love with the ceviche to be honest with the chips just seeming a little out of place and the flavor not quite kicking me in the mouth like I prefer. The shrimp taco was on the sweet side but I liked the combination of flavors especially the guacamole. For the quality and quantity of meat very reasonably priced.
Delicious Fish Tacos, Shrimp poboys. Great service, but expect to wait at least an hour, as it's tiny! Lobster Rolls were ok, but not really worth the money.
Best seafood I had in Charleston, probably the best meal. Highly recommend the fried oyster basket!
Hospitality has no home here. It's a very busy little restaurant and the staff takes the guests (most of whom are tourists) for granted. The guy running the front door is aggressive and rude. When we approached the front door, we were confronted (not greeted) by their bouncer with a "Can I help you?" No smile, no hi, etc. "Yes", we replied, "there are two of us." "What's your name?" "Joe", I reply. "It'll be a while", he replies. "Stand over there". He didn't write down our name or give us a wait time. After about 20 minutes, I went into the restaurant to see if we could get a glass of wine while we waited, and to get the menu to look at. I stood there trying to get someone's attention. The staff is expert at avoiding guest eye contact. The bouncer appeared and it was clear he was NOT happy I had the audacity to come in the door. "CAN I HELP YOU?!" he barks at me. "Yes", I said, we were hoping for a glass of wine." "ARE YOU ON THE LIST?!", he demands, "YOU CAN'T GET A DRINK UNLESS YOU'RE ON THE LIST!" "Well yes", I said, "you took our name." "WELL, YOU'RE GONNA HAVE TO GO BACK OUTSIDE! YOU CAN'T STAND HERE!", he orders, clearly annoyed at me. He walks me to the door like he's a cop escorting a prisoner. We get outside and I again remind him we're hoping for a glass of wine while we wait. "IF YOU WANT TO DRINK OUT HERE YA GOTTA STAND UNDER THE AWNING!" He's all but shouting at me this point. "That's fine", I replied, "How about two glasses of any white wine". "REMEMBER!! YA GOTTA STAY UNDER THE AWNING!" he reminds me at the top of his lungs as he stomps off. At this point, we decided to go elsewhere. The whole attitude of this place is that the they're doing the guests a favor and can barely tolerate the stupid rubes.
This place is worth the wait. It is a very small venue by they pack in a lot of bar seating and two 5 or 6 person tables, which means it hits capacity pretty easily. The food are classic dishes with their own flair done with very fresh seafood. They rotate fish for each of their dishes as well as some rotating beers and wines. The scallop po'boy I had was phenomenal, a great mix of flavors and textures, all blended together wonderfully for an incredible sandwich. The server mentioned the menu items are smaller, so one dish is a light meal and two is a good portion for most. I had great experience here and can't wait to go again.
this place is too good, I'm not even sure what to do with myself now
The food is absolutely amazing! I mean, so good! And the wait staff had great food recommendations. Food came out quickly, we ate family style and all tried everything, and it was delicious.
What I will say is be prepared to wait. The host had no rhythm or reason for the order in which people were sat. We waited for over 2 hours then were offered bar seating for 4, which we declined, and had to wait another 20 minutes for a table. We were quoted 2 hours for a table. We probably sat for 30-40 minutes total between when we got our table and left, I have no idea what took so long for us to get a table. There was no place to sit and wait, and there was really lousy drink choices for while we waited (no vodka drinks, not a full bar, etc.)
There are two bathrooms stalls for the whole restaurant, and they were both so filthy. Plus, there was always a line. The hand dryer was right above the toilet paper so there was water and toilet paper all over the floor.
Again, the food was delicious, but next time I would probably slip the host some money to bump us up in line. He was completely aloof and it likely would ve helped us with timing.
Overly satisfied! The oyster basket was to die for. Thank you Greg and team!!!
Great food and atmos. Lobster roll and fish tacos are amazing.
This place is really good but it s so small that you will probably want to try to go on a weeknight that it is raining. When that situation occurs we often think of this place because it s the only time that we don t have to wait. Everything we ve eaten here is amazing
