I came here at the suggestion of my friend and it was literally, hands down, THE BEST meal I've had in the last 5 years. I got the pork carnitas and shrimp tacos and it was so good that I was actually sad that I had to finish the rest of my beer because I didn't want the taste to leave my mouth. My friends ordered a second round of the scallop po'boy and tuna burger because it was that good. I just can't even believe it. Friendly staff, fast service. 100% recommend.

This place is amazing! We went there twice on our recent trip. The service was amazing!. The lobster roll is to die for. And the ahi poke with chips and quad were amazing!!
They don t take reservations, So we got on the list and send wondering around the city. When we made our second stop back in they remembered us and treated us very well. Next time we are in Charleston.

Me & my partner drove from Atlanta, GA to Charleston specifically to eat at this restaurant. It was phenomenal! Best oysters i've ever had had, and the scallop po boy is literally one of the best seafood dishes i've ever eaten in my life. We will be visiting this town again in the future, just to eat at this amazing, small, friendly restaurant that knows how to cook food and provide an amazing atmosphere!

Service was perfect. Small but fun atmosphere. Food was delicious. Swordfish taco was expertly cooked, shrimp taco was my favorite, carnita taco was nice and crispy. The carrot gazpacho was amazing...what a clever spin on a traditional cold soup, I could drink it! Cold beer, nice wine selection.
Our server even gave us a list of favorite restaurants to try during our stay!

wow. Seriously. Wonderful meal, knowledgeable, friendly staff. I have nothing bad to say. The two of us shared a dozen oysters, then shared the ceviche (today s fish was wreckfish and was delicious!). We finished our meal sharing a lobster roll. Absolutely sublime. We ll definitely be back!

The manager was rude and rushed us out of the door. 167 has great food but horrible customer service. The manager rushed us while eating, coming over while my girlfriend was halfway through her meal, asking if she was done. When she replied no, he insisted she hurry up. Having been a slow eater her whole life, she responded that she would eat at her own pace and felt mistreated. They used to be so personable and since moving has lost touch with customer service. Very disappointed.

The food was excellent. We loved the ceviche, the poke and the oysters. The creudo was fair, but should have a little bit more flavor to it.
Minus one star due to one particular waiter who just seemed actively disengaged in his work, moderately arrogant and took away from the experience.

It was fantastic. As others mentioned, seating is limited but it's worth the wait. We waited outside around 15 minutes so not bad. Food was outstanding. Seated in front of the chefs so we got to watch our meal being prepared. Great service and good conversation. Will be back.

We arrived 15 minutes to open and were the third people in line. This place is very small but very good. The lobster roll was insanely good, but also expensive for how much you get. We split one and got about three inches each and the whole thing was $27. It was worth it, but not somewhere I would make a regular stop due to the price. The atmosphere was nice, but very small and I felt I needed to get out quickly with such a large line forming.

Pastrami swordfish - I will say no more. Good selection of beers. We also got the shrimp and oyster poboys. I thought the oysters needdd a little more crunch to stand up to the sauces. Shrimp poboy was good. Both were served on a new England style roll that was grilled in butter.

One of our favorites. Great food and service.

Layout of new location is disappointing -- particularly toilet situation. We were surprised that these inadequacies were approved by building code.

So good! I tried a lot of stuff and I can t say anything bad about any of it. Lobster roll is the most popular but the tuna burger was on point. The oysters were excellent and super fresh. Cooks are awesome and right there to interact with. Wear your big boy pants though cause they re honest and real. They re not there to make your feelings all squishy.
Alex was knowledgeable and super helpful. Great guy.
Yes it s small. Yes there s a wait. There s plenty of drive throughs if you re that impatient and burnt your taste buds off in college anyways. It s totally worth the wait and I promise you won t be disappointed.

We had a delicious relaxed lunch on the back outdoor patio. Staff were all friendly. And the seafood / cubano inspired menu and drinks did not disappoint. Check out the pastrami d' and the crudo special.

Like fresh delicious seafood? This is your place! We enjoyed the fried oysters with corn relish. Perfectly shucked and chilled little neck clams. Lobster roll packed with meat and not overly mayonnaisy. Ah the tuna roll... Ground (not chunked) and seasoned, served rare. Fresh and fabulously flavored pork taco makes a great starter or entree by itself. Get there at opening to grab a seat; small place ginormous flavor! Looking forward to the return.

Got take out, two po'boy shrimp sandwiches, delicious! Easy and friendly wait staff outside to hand off order and right on time. Do not know the owners but found out we have multiple mutual friends, so very happy this place is doing well!

While my visit to 167 was awhile back I maintain my view that it is by far one of the best restaurants on the peninsula. Despite its location and size, the food is amazing. It is a bit pricey but well worth it.

My wife is very particular about how she likes oysters prepared, and the fried oysters on a bed of greens was perfect for her. I wasn't feeling the best, so played it safe with a fish taco and a shrimp taco, both were very good. And if you like key lime pie, you've got dessert sorted!

This is a small seafood centric restaurant that delivered an exceptional experience. The staff is friendly, but business like as they move diners through the experience. Reservations are not taken so you show up and put your name on the list. You can enjoy beer or wine on the front step as you wait for your table or spot at the bar. The food is excellent with a good variety to chose from including a wide selection of fresh oysters. I had a fish taco and a pork taco (one of the few non-seafood choices) and my wife a dozen Wallace Bay oysters. I highly recommend 167 Raw.

We had about a 35 minute wait to be seated, but the food was well worth it. The local craft beer selection has a lot of variety, and the food was spectacular. I had an oyster po'boy which I felt bad eating because it looked so nice. My fiancee had the lobster roll. We shared a dozen mixed oysters. Not a cheap place, but you get what you pay for. The quality is unmatched.

Much like Radiohead's best song on the album, Amnesiac, packt like sardines in a crushed tin box is the atmosphere you will feel here. The place is tiny and you will wait. Even at 3 pm on a Thursday there's a 1.5 hour wait.

The fish tacos and tuna burger is fantastic and work the wait!

On a recent and first trip to Charleston, my husband and I doubled back to this restaurant because the food (and drinks) were so good. We had raw Oysters (great selection), Halibut Ceviche, Lobster Roll and Tuna Tataki and it was all AMAZING! Great vibe inside the restaurant. While you likely will wait (because it's that good), they can text you when your table is ready (aka time for shopping) and also have a nice little patio bar in the back. We sat at the bar both times and everyone was friendly and informative.

The restaurant is very small it has bar seating and a few tables. There was a short wait, maybe 15-20 minutes. The food was very good alot of flavor. I got the fried oysters they were very good had a little bit of a Kick to them in the beginning, but by the time I got down to the last few, there was a lot of kick in them. They were so tender and delicious I didn't care that they were spicy for the last few.
My husband got the scallop po-boy which also was very flavorful and very tender.

We were told this was a must try when we visit Charleston. The atmosphere, food, cleanliness were all 5 star! Our server was a 1 Star. At first we thought "he is having a bad day" but then we watched him interact with the group next to us and he was a completely different person. He explained the oysters to them, chatted to them, and reviewed the menu. He was cold toward us and had no emotion, maybe it was because we were in shorts and polo shirts but a good waiter should never prejudge a customer. The guys behind the oyster bar had to point out that we needed some attention at one point. We really wanted to get out of there as quick as possible! If we had another waiter we would have ordered a 2nd round of drinks and dessert but we just wanted to get out of it.
Our waiter also went behind the oyster bar, took an oyster, opened it, and ate in front of us.

I ordered the shrimp po boy and lobster roll with some raw oysters. I had low expectations for the shrimp poboy because I've had it at other places, but it exceed my expectations. The shrimp was the best I've had and my boyfriend and I talked about it for days. The lobster roll had meaty chunks of lobster all on a warm buttered roll. The moment I took my first bite into the lobster roll I could taste the butter and it felt like heaven.

Typically very good but when one orders a sandwich for takeout you should wrap it before your throw it Willy Nilly in the box on top of chips and pickles. Without wrapping, everything slides all around and the moisture from the pickles and sandwich ruin the chips and the sandwich becomes deconstructed. And a napkin added would have been nice. Take the extra step to ensure quality and customer satisfaction.

Tremendously good local seafood, best on the island. Amazing selection of oyster, and fantastic fried oyster, soup, and drinks. Everything in the menu is fresh and made to order. Fun atmosphere but be ready for a wait.

To say this place is a must do is an understatement. The best dining experience I ve had in a while. We had to wait for a table but that was worthwhile. The staff were great and the food was just outstanding (scallop poboy the highlight). Do it.

Amazing! We were lucky to show up on an off day (Tue) for lunch and find no line. Sat right down at the bar. The guys who own/run 167 are excellent behind the bar and happy to engage in conversation with the clientele. Many oyster choices (local and out of state) and they were extremely careful in shucking them, even tossing those they felt weren't up to par. But the best thing on the menu is the lobster roll. Best we've ever had and we're originally from New England. 2 bottles of wine and 3 hours later we finished one of the best meals/experiences on our vacation. Highly recommend!

My first visit was in July of 2019 at their old location. The atmosphere was very stressful for me as I m claustrophobic and have a bit of social anxiety. We dined at the new location yesterday and the experience was polar opposite. I had a great time. The wait was manageable, maybe 5-15 mins for 5 people! The food tasted great and I was able to relax and try more dishes. My only suggestion would be about the bathroom door. I didn t notice there were two locks, just the one to the left. I and everyone else in my party had the door yanked open by another patron. Very embarrassing but we all laughed about it. I can t wait to return.

The manager was Absolutely amazing. His name was Brian I believe. I am in training here and in the military. My boss that was supposed to pick me up for my facility left me because it was early. He helped me out and let me hang out at the bar while he called me a cab. You let me buy beers and was very hospitable. This guy doesn t on the bar but if I were to buy a business I would let him run it is that great. I would go back to this place just because of him he s that great. You have to go and try this business that s how great this guy is. Give him a chance. He made sure that I got Home safe.

Food and service were great! Oysters and shrimp po' boy were tasty. We took our 3 small children and they loved it as well! Not the best place for little kids (high top tables and a mostly seafood menu) but they were welcomed! We will return on our next visit.

Have tried dining here before but with no reservations we waited a little bit and decided we didn t want to wait for two hours. Just recently got take out from here and the food would probably have been much better if we would ve eaten it there when it first came out. We both had lobster rolls, one warm and one cold, and they were good. It was a little underwhelming though as people were raving about how they re the best lobster rolls ever. The guacamole appetizer was great though. Would recommend for dine in if you can be patient and wait for a bit.

Best lunch I have ever had. A dozen oysters insane. Ceviche incredible, A tuna burger even more insane, a fish sandwich off the charts insane. The house rose was perfect. Then a slam dunk on the key lime pie. Soon effin good. The people who work there could not be cooler. Just a great great place.

Tiny restaurant ... just a handful of tables. Long line and no reservations. Worth every moment. Very friendly staff. Controlled menu. Seafood was clean and fresh. Loved every bite. I d recommend to anyone in search of great seafood. I would go with a large group, however. Simply wonderful.
