Great food and a great atmoshpere here. The oysters are always delicious and are shucked perfectly extremely consistently. I would also recommend the lobster rolls and the key lime pie. If you're planning on going, just know that it is very small and gets very busy very quickly.

Amazing food and service! Recommend having one of the specials of the day. Menu changes daily depending on the fresh fish brought into the restaurant. Great wines available and beers. Be prepared to wait 30 minutes for a table-have a glass of wine while waiting!! Well worth the wait!

10 Stars! Soooo good! I live in Charleston and 167 Raw is good for Lunch, Dinner, Afternoon Snack, Take Out and of course cocktails. 10/10 ! A must experience if you are in Charleston. (Go Twice)

Excellent menu. A bit of a wait, outside, but well worth it. Parking is ample across the street. We took an uber. But what a great experience. I had a pastrami swordfish. Sounded odd to me. But, WOW!! It was excellent. The menu changes often. Looking forward to our next visit.

This place came highly recommended, and I was happy we got a chance to try it on our second visit to Charleston. The restaurant is adorably quaint, but as mentioned seating is limited. They have benches outside to wait on, you can drink beer, wine, and beverages while you eat. But NO FOOD! As we waited, the manager had to escourt 2-3 different couples away from the property to eat their foods somewhere else! Apparently, it has something to do with a new law in Charleston? The wait was over an hour, so we had a beer and decided to get our food to go and eat in our truck! The simple fish tacos were my favorite, perfectly cooked and perfectly seasoned. The shrimp taco was breaded, and the sauce was too sweet, and a little heavy handed with the pour for my taste. My boyfriend got the pastrami swordfish sandwich, which true to the name tasked just like a pastrami sandwich on a pumpernickel bun with Swiss cheese. My only complaint being it tasted just like a pastrami sandwich on a pumpernickel bun with Swiss cheese! It was good, but it tasted like fish made for people who don t like fish, or fish for people who really like pastrami sandwiches! I would definitely recommend giving this place a try, and we would certainly go back, but I think we would stick to the more simple side of the menu next time!

We had the Oyster & Shrimp Po-Boy. They were the best I've ever had. Our waiter was the bartender George. There are certain things I do not like in or on my food. He worked with the chef and my sandwich was perfect and delicious.

Tourist - ing from San Diego and throughly enjoyed our meals, wine and commaderie at the bar last night. Our bartender was right on par with everything.....above the norm for sure !

The wait was a solid 2 hours. Went across the street and got some wine at the wine bar while waiting. Got the text to be seated. Went to the bar and had some drinks and oysters. Amazing food and drinks. Super friendly bartenders. Really lived up to the hype!

167 Raw is a welcome retreat to the frequent but less than impressive string of raw bars along the coast. You'll feel the New England vibe while also being right at home in low country. The staff is attentive and knowlegeable - I recommend testing that out. The seafood is fresh and prepared perfectly - the flavor nuances between the sources are very up front, making an otherwise uniform tray of oysters add dimsenions upon your normal approach. Po boys are excellent - with a lobster roll style bread. Highly recommended.

Excellent food, delightful service, fun atmosphere. We got the sampler platter to start with oysters, clams, and shrimp. We took chefs pick on the oysters and were very happy with them. The ceviche was delicious as were the chips it was served with. We got the fish of the day to go with our wine and loved the sauce the golden tile was served with. Our server Brendan made some excellent recommendations, was very knowledgeable of what he was serving, and was incredibly friendly. Thank you so much!

It seats maybe 25 people. They only have 2 tables. Everyone else sits at the bar. They don't have much on their menu. I enjoyed my shrimp po boy. It was small. Maybe 8 med shrimp. My wife and son didn't like their fish sandwich. They give you a handful of chips. They serve can drinks for 2.50 over priced for what you get

Yes, it's a strange name for a restaurant, 167 Raw. My wife and I didn't ask for an explanation. Safe to say, it is a seafood eatery serving oysters, lobster rolls, fish tacos, ceviche and more fresh seafood presumably caught off the South Carolina coast. Located at 289 East Bay Street in the heart of Charleston's busy and bustling tourist mecca, 167 Raw is open from 11 to 10 Monday through Saturday. Walk right in. There are only six parking spaces located directly in front of the restaurant. While visiting the historic sites along Bay Street and Meeting Street, we stopped for a lunch break. You can't go wrong with jumbo shrimp cocktail, She Crab soup, a shrimp po'boy sandwich, lobster roll and home-made key lime pie. Charleston is a great restaurant town and there are more great restaurants in operation today than when we last visited the City of Succession--and 167 Raw certainly is one of them.

Small in size, but big in taste! Had the lobster roll here and the fried oyster basket. Both were amazing. The fried oyster basket was much better than you would have imagined. Had a slightly spicy honey drizzle on it and some corn. Just awesome. Had some fresh oysters as well. A must hit spot. Only problem is getting a seat at times since it is a small place.

Absolutely fantastic place. Waited about an hour, but they take drink orders, so you can sit outside with a beer or wine while waiting. My wife isn t a seafood person, so we got chips and guacamole (great), then she got a salad and a carnitas taco. Extremely fresh salad and the carnitas were the best either of us have ever had. I got the pastrami d swordfish sandwich, which was also amazing. We were at the bar watching the chefs work, which made the experience even better. Finally, the key lime pie was perfect. Can t recommend enough. Worth the wait by a long shot.

Place is small, so expect to wait. Next time we will come early to hold a seat.

But the wait is worth it. Our spicy cod sandwich and seared arctic char was served at perfection. Left feeling very satisfied.

Must try spot in Charleston. Best seafood I ve ever had. Really fresh and innovative and just down right delicious. Great oyster selection and other daily specials. Scallop po boy is to die for. Really small seating but intimate experience with kitchen and bar right there. Highest recommendation in a city full of phenomenal food.

When I tell you that the pastrami'd swordfish sandwich was EXCELLENT, I mean it was EXCELLENT! That's it, enough said, just GO. The shrimp po'boy that my husband ordered was equally delicious. Like, they just get the seafood out the water fresh. I don't know if they did but it was fresh and delish! The service and the chefs are great as well. Friendly people. First time visit for my birthday dinner and I was delighted. Thank you!

What's the weight as many of the other reviews said we knew we would have to wait but it was definitely worth the wait all of the Rossi food was definitely delicious. my girlfriend had the lobster roll which was very delicious. It was nice that we were able to enjoy a few beers while we waited to grab a seat. The wait staff was very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this place.

Stopped by in the early evening and didn't have to wait to get seated! Had some delicious oysters with a recommended white wine, I can't explain through this review how good these oysters were. THEY WERE THE BEST I HAVE EVER HAD! They were prepared right in front of me. People who worked here are super friendly and helpful. Finished the meal off with an amazing slice of key lime pie, also very yummy. If you get a chance stop by and try the oysters, trust me, worth every penny.

Attentive, great food! Oyster selections are varied and have a good range of choices. Fried oysters were delicious. Tuna burger is a nice size, and the shrimp taco was great! Love little gems, and this is one of them.

Best oysters and seafood in the southeast. Little slice of New England tucked away in Charleston

This is and has been my favorite restaurant in Charleston. I've been going to the original for years now regularly. I was nervous that the charm of the original small space wouldn't translate to a larger space and that somehow they would loose what was special. Well.... nothing to worry about it. The team has done an incredible job of not only keeping the magic of the vibe alive, but in many ways made it better. The new space is larger and very well laid out and the bar in the back courtyard is a super cool touch. I love the different room layouts and the decor. The service is awesome as usual and its nice to see the familiar faces from the original. These guys make the room feel alive and welcoming. The food is as outstanding as it always has been. Super fresh, well made and integrity of product in every bite. Hands down....BEST oysters in town. The care they take in shucking them is second to none and they pride themselves on oyster knowledge and procuring the best they can get. I'm a huge fan of the Tuna Burger and the Pastramied Swordfish, but everything we ordered was amazing. I true Charleston gem, not to be missed. Can't wait to come back again and again.

Lovely small restaurant with amazingly fresh seafood. I let the waiter recommend my entire meal and it was delicious. Tuna burger, oysters, key lime pie, all delicious. Careful the restaurant is a little small so be warned that there are only a few seats but they are worth it.

I've been a vegetarian for 22 years. And today, I had oysters. The staff handled me so well. The wine paired perfectly. My partner's lobster roll left him speechless, which is hard to do. The guacamole and chips were dreamy. The oysters and fixings made me want more. Me. A very vegetarian woman. This is everything I want in a dining establishment. It was our first stop, and we will be back every time we come to Charleston. And we will tell everyone we know to make it a point to eat here.

Hard to describe since it was such a personal and incredible experience. Quaint little shop with a Northeast vibe and feel. Everything on the menu, both food and drink, is of the highest quality. Bummed I didn t get to try the ice cream sandwich! Definitely a special occasion spot but it s so good I would visit more often. Awesome staff too! It s all worth the wait. Side note...you just can t beat oysters from the northern Atlantic. The one type from SC was meh/bland and the one from WA was straaaange. Anyway, this is a must-visit!

Informed staff and fresh local food and beverages collide to produce an awesome experience. I was lucky to have great neighbors at the bar, making for interesting conversations. All in all a very pleasant MLK lunch. Thanks to all!

Phenomenal, fresh seafood! Very small, intimate spot with limited seating. Much of the seating is bar seats or chefs table seating - It's fantastic! Food comes quickly and the fairly small menu likely plays a part in that. Two of us dined on a Thursday night at 8:30 and were seated within 7 minutes. Highly recommend. Larger groups likely have to wait longer as there are only two big tables. Worth the wait!

This place blew away all expectations and it'd been hyped by my friends! Got the tuna burger and it was fantastic. Also got a dozen oysters for the group. They were the most well prepared oysters that I've ever had. Atmosphere is relaxed, small place, great service. Since the place isn't huge, you feel waited on without feeling smothered.

This place is Charleston's little gem. We had the scallop po boy and the lobster roll and both were excellent. The lobster roll is comparable to the best you'd get in New England. The scallop had a very tasty glaze. I was super happy at the end of the meal and I highly recommend this place. The space is super small - only a few tables and a bar counter, but the wait is totally worth it.

My favorite restaurant in Charleston. Everything about this place is wonderful. I appreciate that the size of the restaurant is smaller, because if it was much larger, the quality of service, attentiveness, and preciseness may suffer slightly.

The lobster roll is exceptional. It s as if they make the perfect lobster salad, globs of pure lobster, and insert it into what I would refer to as a heaven oven where it pops out buttery and toasty and perfect.

The oyster selection is always a fun surprise - it s so enjoyable to taste oysters from around the world and what a difference you can taste according to where! The ones from Canada are delectable but no matter what they have, you won t be disappointed.

The tuna burger is amazing as well.

I cannot say enough good things about this place. Wonderful dining experience every time - you may have to wait, as it is first come, first serve, but you won t be disappointed.

We have been here in town for 3 days and have come back already. 167 Raw was our first lunch coming into town. It has hands down been the best food. We ve tried several high end highly recommended restaurants, and have been disappointed each time, likely due to our high expectations after our first meal at 167. Bailey, a chef there, was incredible and passionate. Dave, our server, was also delightful and easy going. 10/10 would recommend, 10/10 will come back to Charleston just for 167 Raw. Great experience.

Wow wow wow

Wow wow wow

That was awesome. I have never had such a hot oyster. Incredibly fresh and a wide selection (The oystersman could tell everyone a story and a matching dip (not drowning, rather accentuated) enough.

The tuna burger was awesome .
In the middle still RAW, great Brioch Bun and marinated Ochsenherztomaten.

Ingenious were the tacos . Both the fish and Pulled Pork.

Then you've got the shrimp Po'Boy right. Old moth was delicious. With 3 very fine sauces, slightly sweetish. Glorious.

Great very nice service, we had to wait a good 30 minutes for a place (reservation is not possible) but before that schonmal drinks got.

The decor in the relatively small bar is very suitable.

If you go to Charleston, you must go here and have a lobster roll. The lobster is fantastic. It is fresh and succulent. The bread is buttered and crispy. This lobster roll is the best. The place is very small with seating for only about 12-15. We went early afternoon, so we did not have to wait, but the restaurant was full. By the time we left, there was a line. Reservations are recommended.

Freshest seafood in the downtown area. They rotate the fish dishes of the day based on what's caught. It really shows. Fish tacos are a favorite. Their lobster roll is expensive but entirely worth it

Make sure to finish your drink by 10:58pm. Excellent food and service with our waiter. Brenden. However, at 10:59 a separate server swooped in and took my drink without a word and laughed about it on his way out. I guess because service ended. A simple comment that it was time to end service would have been appreciated. Food delish. End of service not appreciated.

The food was incredible. I really enjoyed the shrimp and raw oysters. Brian our waiter was very knowledgeable about oyster cultivation and I learned a lot! Thanks for a great experience.
