As a long time resident of Indianapolis, the Indy ...

As a long time resident of Indianapolis, the Indy Star of today is nothing what it used to be. Very little journalism (thank you Gannett), too many ads and pictures, old news, downloaded articles from USA today. You wonder how the Star executives feel being driven by the bottom line every day, and yielding to a money driven enterprise that hardly even qualifies for newspaper. The paper, frankly, is an embarrassment to central Indiana. But like every other money driven enterprise, the money is paramount to everything. Gannett ruined so many good papers around the country. Reminds me when GM, Firestone and Standard Oil bought up all the inter-urban street cars (they were convicted in federal court for conspiracy) then promptly tore up the track and sold the cities diesel choking buses. I'm choking on the Star!
