Called city of Dallas to see what was taking so long and they told me to call credit services and they never answer! I left 3 voicemails and even when they finally answered they put me on hold for an HOUR!!! Didn't even get back to the call just clicked. Awful service

Great people working with outdated/inefficient systems. We've had water cut off twice due to system errors and bugs in account transfer. Always call in and calmly explain your issue and they'll help you get to the bottom of it. I don't know if the water Dept is running on SAP too but whoever powers this system needs to be held more accountable. After seeing how payment info is processed I wouldn't trust using anything other than a virtual acct number with the city.

It also doesn't help that no one at the city is managing this Google listing. DWU this isn't social media, this is a communications channel. Use it.

Called the phone number on my water bill as to why I have 2 accounts for 1 property. The rude lady on the phone told me she can t answer it and I have to call DALLAS water. The number on the bill is the only number for DALLAS water. She wouldn t forward me and can t ask my question. These government agencies are unbelievable. People need to start getting fired and replaced...

I like having water, so that's worth a star. The customer service was terribly unhelpful. After receiving payment for water to be turned on, our service was turned off. I rushed from work to meet with the technician who would turn it on between sometime and another time (no stated range of arrival time). It was important that I be there according to customer service. While I was home, a man in a Dallas Water truck drove up to the front, opened the lid, turned on the water, then left. I missed work for no reason because customer service did not have solid answers and expected someone to be home when it was unnecessary.

I haven't had water since June yet they send me a bill for $224 in usage charges for July and August, also stating that I used 21,000 gallons of water. How can I have 21,000 gallons of water usage if I do not have water sevice? They keep telling me that maybe I have a leak but again how can I have a water leak if I do not have water to leak?

When I signed up for new service in the spring Dallas Water Utilities employee attached a billing address from a old utility account at an address from 15 years previous. My bills were sent to a wrong address for 3 months, then I got disconnected for "non-payment". Luckily I caught it immediately and was able to call them, throw money at it, and get reconnected same day. However, none of my fees are being waived for the inconvenience. I am being scolded as if all this ridiculousness is my fault. And they will not release the employee's name who made the error so I can file a complaint with the public utility commission. Shame on a public utility for being such jerks.

There should be a NEGATIVE STAR SYSTEM..
Reg: Rental Property
I called to reinstate the Water account under Our Business Name. The, former Tenant left an outstanding Utility Bill. The 1st Customer Srv. Rep. Told me I had a balance, but I had to hang up pay on line or automated line, I did. Called back I talk to another Rep. And she "INSISTS" that in order to get water turned ON, I must gove them a copy of my Deed, Proof that We own this Property..I ask Why? I said can I use my recent City of Dallas Tax Receipt, Where it shows all the proof you NEED..NO! She said... I open up the Gates of Hell to find all the proof..
My Husband Drives Downtown Dallas, gets to counter..And a Most kind young Lady said all I need to see is your Drivers License.. ..

Customer service representatives are always incredibly UNHELPFUL. Service techs do not call ahead, and thus the utility department expects someone to wait for an entire day. Every time I call on business, I get treated to a five minute recorded spiel about 'listening to all the options', and am nearly never able to contact an actual representative. Dealing with this utility company is the worst part of my day, every day.

I have contacted 311 by phone many times and they have always been helpful. With the Corona virus epidemic, the wait time has been a little bit longer So yesterday I just tried the 311 app, sohso I will get the service request completed within the 5-day time period. Every city customer service agent I have spoke to on the phone has always been extremely helpful and very polite

Worst company ever . They make mistakes and we have to pay for them. Especially the ones at credit services . They cut our water off due to there stupidity and still have the nerve to tell me we don't have to keep calling them . Like what the hell they don't care because we are the ones with no water .

This department needs more people to work, I scared to call because it always wait for very long time (more than 30 minutes) and sometimes disconnected after long wait, I tried to leave number, no one ever return my call and I have to call again, no choice but wait. I think the call back service will work if they will return all calls.

Extremely bad customer service, the supervisor Bianca was very rude after I had made an overpayment on my account and did not want to refund my money! Its close to Christmas time I made an honest mistake by paying my light bill fee instead of my water utility bill. They want to keep my overpayment as credit!! I have been a customer for 18 years +, always make my payment on time and this is how they treat their customers?!?!?

They are terrible and unprofessional. Always answering with attitudes or don't bother answering at all. People don't have time to take off to go in person just to not get help. They really need to train better and monitor their calls. I am going to figure out who I can escalate this issue to because it's not right for them to answer to people like that.

I was outside my house a few days ago, and a Dallas utilities pick up truck passed by three times. It made me suspicious and when I checked the plates they were Oklahoma plates. Is that acceptable? This is besides the fact that they shut my water off for no reason. I was showering when the guy turned it off. There was no leak and it was paid. Horrible service.

Worst phone customer service ever! You can't talk to anyone because it keeps hanging up on you! 3 days in a row and I have called multiple times at different times of day and it's the same thing over and over. And BTW, no I don't want to take your stupid service survey!

We are moving and they switched our closing day from the 5th to the 16th, I had cancelled the service and totally forgot to call them again. My water service was disconnected yesterday due to my mistake, when I got home from work at 6. I called first thing today and Sherri answered, she helped me get my water service reconnected today and was very helpful and sweet!

Very good service when I call them about a problem. Had a meter that I couldn t turn off, because it was so old. Guy from DWU came out on Sun. evening and turned it off. He said I should get a new meter in case this ever happens again. Got a new meter the next week.

The call center reps are a mixed bag; some are awesome, and some are completely awful! There is, however, one particular woman who works in the Credit Services Department who is absolutely amazing! Her name is Schendi, and at 4:39 on a Friday afternoon, after all her co workers had left for the weekend, she went above and beyond to make sure my water services were restored! I hope her supervisors read this and give her a well deserved bonus!

In comparison to Grande Prairie, Dallas County is not that thorough because I was told on the phone they only go to the meter to test water pressure. " Dallas technicians don't test on the side of the house" and not test from the outside facuet. Grande prairie will actually go to the house test the outside faucet for water pressure and also the backyard as well as the water meter. BUT TYRON radio 182 from Dallas water untility was extra helpful in helping me find out why my water was so weak coming out of my house!! My pressure was good but very little came out. He took the time (not too long) until he found the problem! My water hose had a bubble and all the water was not coming out. Thank you Tyron! You are awesome!! Give this man a raise!! You go the extra mile!!

The city of Dallas is approximately as efficient as a Soviet era bread line, and about as amicable and helpful as a doll with a pullstring on its back, repeating the same useless information over and over.
Long story short, they cut my water two weeks after moving into my new home (despite the fact that I applied for service) because of an INTERNAL permit issue. Calling their office while being forced to pee in the yard with my dog simply yielded "we cant activate service because there's an open water permit on your property, you need to call the permit office". Call the permit office, and I get voicemail. Drive to permit office, and they say that they have an internal permit for work done by the city, and since the worker never closed out the permit, they can't turn on water at my home. 48 hrs later, and they are still trying to figure out how to close the permit so I can get water service at my new home (which I had before they cut off). The city of Dallas makes WW II era Stalingrad look efficient by comparison.

Terrible service.. Constantly having to call with issues with the epay system. So far I've been charged $30 fees a total of three times in less than a year for mistakes they have made, and yet they won't take the fee away. I guess this is what happens when you have no other options for water service.

Come on people2 stars is way too generous I wouldn't give 1 except less won't register. The most circular logic I've ever heard. Customer service? Now there is an oxymoron. I have a meter that isn't reading correctly. It reads VERY high and guess what. They can tell by just looking at it that it is perfectly fine. My house uses no water, the little wheel doesn't spin inappropriately yet I am using 40,000 Gallons a month in a single family home. The meter was changed when I bought the home in July and guess what, before that the very same house used a "normal" amount of water! Guess that meter was reading WAY too low! Hell $500 water bills are normal... right?

Can't get through to speak to someone....always a busy signal. One time I did get through, I was on hold for a L O N G time. They offer a service to leave a message and they will call you back within 24 hours. Now 72 hours later and still no return call. HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!
