Favorite Bike shop in Brooklyn. Great bikes in stock, even now when the bike market is running dry, and very helpful staff. Adam is great -- was very patient, explained things thoroughly to a beginner like me, and was never pushy on the sale or trying to upsell. Definitely stop by.

Pretty useless bike shop. I had an issue with my chain and I've been there 5 times over the last few months. Every time I go in they seem to do nothing to my bike, they do not know what the issue is and keep trying out random parts or just looking at it and hoping it works, and they then charge me for it.

As soon as I cycle for 10 minutes I realize it's not fixed or has even made my bike worse, so then I come back and after waiting an hour or so they tell me to try something else and this time they promise will work as long as I spend more money. I've spent around $300 so far and they're trying to charge me more but won't tell me why.

I get that it's busy right now with corona but it seems like they're doing minimum effort on all work and trying to maximize their profits by dragging each customer out over months for what should be a quick fix. The least they could do is talk to you for more than 20 seconds and ask what's up with your bike.

I really wanted to like this place but my experience was pretty bad. Before and at the time of sale the staff was super friendly and helpful. It was after that things went awry.
The order of events...

1. I purchased the bike I was looking for! It would arrive in "3 days"! Stoked!
2. I was never called about my bike :(
3. When I finally called 8 days later it took them 4 hours to find my information in the computer system only to call me back saying there was a "glitch" in the computer and my bike didn't exist. boo.
4. The 2nd bike I picked out did exist! Then didn't exist. Then existed once again. Yay?
5. The mechanic in back put my bike together in 45 minutes! You rock bike mechanic!
6. I was charged again for the bike. Wait...what?
7. The water bottle cage was not added. No biggie. They put it on while I questioned my 2nd charge.
8. 20 minutes later they found my information in the computer and agreed that I paid for my bike. Thanks!
9. I was handed a voided receipt for the 2nd charge. Appreciated.
10. Everyone walked away.
11. I walked out of the bike shop with my 2nd choice $600 bike/$200 gear without even a goodbye.

That sums up my experience. I didn't make a big deal about any of these issues but I just left feeling like I wish I chose a different bike shop. I love my bike but Ride Brooklyn had nothing to do with that. Happy riding.

I ve been here about 4 times and each time spent a significant time waiting on lines and having to repair the repairs that they already did. I must have spent $300 on repairing my bike. Each time the staff were abrupt, robotic and monotone. It wasn t enjoyable being there.

I had them replace the tubes and tires to keep good maintenance and my first ride the tire popped. When I brought it back and asked for an accommodation on the price, I just got the same single line response three times. I paid the $22 and will not be going back.

GREAT service ! Andy patiently helped me pick the perfect bike for a gift ! He helped me compare different bike models, given that I knew almost nothing about bikes lol. The bike was delivered quicker than I expected and assembled ! Thanks so much! Definitely recommend this place !!

I needed to get my handlebars switched out in a hurry (new brake levers, cables, tape job, all that) - so, the good man Frazier (Frasier?) helped me out. I left my bike at the shop for about an hour before it was ready to go. I was told that I was lucky to be alive because my old brake cables turned out to be shifter cables! This was a terrible/dangerous job done by a certain bike shop on Myrtle near Fort Greene Park - but I won't say any names. Anyway, Habitat did a great job. Thanks.

The quality of their repair shop in the back of the store is fantastic. I have had no problems with repairs at all. The rest of the shop is a bit off-putting as with any cycling shop it feels almost as though you're obligated to make a purchase the second you step through the door. They are certainly friendly and knowledgeable but I always feel rushed whenever I enter a bike shop.

Came here after a crash to get my wheel trued. Got a call saying they couldn't true the wheel, and needed to replace it. The wheel was under warranty, but I wanted to get out on the road hence got it replaced. Came by to pick the bike up, the repair work was satisfactory, but my original wheel was missing. They said they would call me in they found it, never did. $400 under warranty wheel, gone. Really surprised because I had heard good things about this place. For what its worth the staff is friendly, but shocked they lost/disposed of a part after a repair. This has never happened to me at any other LBS in the past.

Very hit or miss depending on who is helping you. Went yesterday because I got a flat on my rear tire right by the shop. The person who took my bike did not seem happy or excited to be at work at all and generally unhelpful. Only did the absolute bare minimum. It was so off-putting that I decided the other items I wanted to purchase were not worth giving any more business than I had already decided to. However, the person that brought out my bike was more helpful than the initial person. I d say go spend your money somewhere else unless you re really stuck in a bind. The only reason I m giving it 2 stars is because the repair was speedy and the second guy helping seemed like he like he actually wanted to be there. There are so many other bike shops to choose from where there is a much better vibe.

Its a bit of a hit or miss. For the most part great service and reasonable prices for the quality of their parts.

Pros: they won't upsell you
Cons: sometimes the work feels a bit rushed e.g. a break not properly adjusted, handlebar not aligned properly

But for the most part they do solid work and get you what you need.

During COVID-19 get ready to wait in line for a while. Once waited an hour in line. Once they assisted me it went smoothly. They send you a text when your stuff is ready. They also have a separate line for prepaid.

Andrew and the guys at Ride Brooklyn were phenomenal at helping my friend and I rent bikes for the day. They were super helpful in picking the right bikes for us, adjusting the bike to our comfort, and provided locks and helmets. They even took the bikes back to the mechanic to make sure they were ready to ride before setting us loose. I would definitely recommend using Ride Brooklyn for your bike rental needs!

I am so upset by the way I was handled just for trying to find out about some bikes for my kids on father's day.... and on top of it all....there were people who was able to came in after me and make purchases.... There was an employee who walk past the people who came in after me and approached me with such determination to escort me out of the store...... I will be glad to take my money elsewhere

Incredibly busy when I arrived, but they had time for me. Gave me clear options for how to fix my bike, a price estimate they ended up coming way underneath, and really prompt service. Made my bike breaking down turn out to not be such a bad thing, cause this is my go-to bike store now.

Shawn, one of the mechanics, was not only speedy in turning my bike around, but also helpful. He took the time to explain exactly what was wrong, down to the details of how long my bike would last with this fix. It takes a special kind of knowledge to explain a world of terms to someone with no prior word bank. I left feeling like I had made the right choice. I'll definitely be going back!

Got very bad service here. Ordered a bike, after more than a month of no communication (and put down almost 400 dollars deposit), I go in and decide to just get a bike in stock. They put it together after a few days and then I do a test ride and the derailer broke off while riding bc it wasn t installed properly.

This scratched up the bike a lot. They fixed it, didn t let me know...so I finally call back and now it s ready. I bought it, but my brand new bike that wasn t put together properly has multiple scratches and is missing the reflectors. They didn t offer any discount or acknowledgement.

I m so frustrated with the poor service here. I got the bike I wanted and it s tough to get bikes in the pandemic. But the service was terrible and I m upset my new bike is damaged. I won t be getting my bike serviced there bc there was zero attention to detail, bad communication, and not even an apology.

Went there to get my lock stand tighened or replaced. Unfriendly / unhelpful employees, barely responding. They charged me 8 USD + taxes to spend 5 seconds tightening it. It was yesterday and the lock stand is getting loose again anyway.

There was also a huge line, I waited for almost an hour standing up outside the shop.

Try to avoid except if that s an emergency, it s unpleasant.

OMG, what sweeties! I often just go in for simple stuff -- in this case the mechanic, whose name I didn't get, was super helpful in setting me up with a spoke and cassette removal to do a spoke replacement on my own and recommending a local bike maintenance class. Thanks for your help!

Terrible service. The wait to get the breaks fixed on a bike I was literally purchasing the same day was ridiculous. I shouldn t have to even repair a brand new bike, but here we are. No offer to call when it was ready just stand outside in the middle of a pandemic. No one even came to see what I was waiting for an hour and a half?? There are plenty of hipster bike shops in Brooklyn. Save yourself the time and go to a different one.

Great bike shop, Great customer service, Great knowledge. I was have a problem on my brake pads. They said "You have to change the pads", but I didn't have a time. Then they tighten the brake cables and fixed the problem's small part immediately. They saved the my day!

Front desk team is nice and kind. Go there if you need to buy an accessory etc.. Their prices are reasonable.

Repair team is a nightmare. Avoid if you need any work performed, especially if you have an uncommon bike that requires certain expertise.

I tend to support small local shops like Ride Brooklyn. I see them as the hearth and soul of the neighborhood. I know Covid caused a biking boom and they re busy, but that is in no way an excuse to perform a sloppy job. I seriously hope they ll soon hold a staff training on how to properly address customer concerns.

Super helpful staff. Ricky inspected my gears, and my breaks, oiled my chain, and told me all I needed was to replace a cable. While Ricky replaced my cable, George helped me find the perfect lock, showed me how to put it on my bike for best theft protection, remove it from its mount, and how to protect my front wheel using a cable I already have. Oh, they also cut the combination lock on my cable so I could use it again.Thank you for all the help, I will be back for all my bike needs!

These are great people and they work hard with a LOT of people coming in and asking questions, asking for oil, or a quick adjustment or just advice on bikes. They are all pulled in a million different directions and are always smiling and friendly. All this said, the ONLY reason I didn't give 5 stars is that they forgot to attach my kickstand and give me the keys to the security bolts they attached. I didn't realize this until I got all the way home. So now I have to go back. They should have checked that I had everything, but I also should have checked before I left. They are holding these things for me and they're offering to install the kickstand if i bring it back. So, though frustrating that I spent several hundred dollars and didn't get everything I paid for, the helpful personalities, knowledge and pleasant experience makes up for a lot. Just check everything before you leave.

Super helpful and friendly.
Had a bike fitting with Peter that was incredibly informative -- made a 20+ year old bike feel brand new. I'm riding more comfortably and efficiently than ever!

They're always incredibly efficient, reliable and friendly. Complete trust in them. They've also tried to stay open during covid - cutting back hours and limiting the number of people in store - you can wait outside with social distance. So grateful to have them still open
