Favorite Bike shop in Brooklyn. Great bikes in stock, even now when the bike market is running dry, and very helpful staff. Adam is great -- was very patient, explained things thoroughly to a beginner like me, and was never pushy on the sale or trying to upsell. Definitely stop by.

The best! Super friendly, authentic in their love for bicycle culture and sharing it with novice & pro cyclists alike. So impressed each time I go.
I hadn't been there 12 to 18 months and in that time the prices have doubled I understand the cost of doing business is probably
Pretty useless bike shop. I had an issue with my chain and I've been there 5 times over the last few months. Every time I go in they seem to do nothing to my bike, they do not know what the issue is and keep trying out random parts or just looking at it and hoping it works, and they then charge me for it.
As soon as I cycle for 10 minutes I realize it's not fixed or has even made my bike worse, so then I come back and after waiting an hour or so they tell me to try something else and this time they promise will work as long as I spend more money. I've spent around $300 so far and they're trying to charge me more but won't tell me why.
I get that it's busy right now with corona but it seems like they're doing minimum effort on all work and trying to maximize their profits by dragging each customer out over months for what should be a quick fix. The least they could do is talk to you for more than 20 seconds and ask what's up with your bike.
I really wanted to like this place but my experience was pretty bad. Before and at the time of sale the staff was super friendly and helpful. It was after that things went awry.
The order of events...
1. I purchased the bike I was looking for! It would arrive in "3 days"! Stoked!
2. I was never called about my bike :(
3. When I finally called 8 days later it took them 4 hours to find my information in the computer system only to call me back saying there was a "glitch" in the computer and my bike didn't exist. boo.
4. The 2nd bike I picked out did exist! Then didn't exist. Then existed once again. Yay?
5. The mechanic in back put my bike together in 45 minutes! You rock bike mechanic!
6. I was charged again for the bike. Wait...what?
7. The water bottle cage was not added. No biggie. They put it on while I questioned my 2nd charge.
8. 20 minutes later they found my information in the computer and agreed that I paid for my bike. Thanks!
9. I was handed a voided receipt for the 2nd charge. Appreciated.
10. Everyone walked away.
11. I walked out of the bike shop with my 2nd choice $600 bike/$200 gear without even a goodbye.
That sums up my experience. I didn't make a big deal about any of these issues but I just left feeling like I wish I chose a different bike shop. I love my bike but Ride Brooklyn had nothing to do with that. Happy riding.
Great customer service. Amazing bikes! Highly recommend this bike shop.
First time I went they were alright went there again dropped of a set of wheels and hubs to get built August 8th went back today September 6th to pick them up because they still did not get built. I'll take my business elsewhere thanks
Pretty terrible bike shop. Tried to buy a bike from them, but the owner Pete couldn't even be bothered to respond to me.
I ve been here about 4 times and each time spent a significant time waiting on lines and having to repair the repairs that they already did. I must have spent $300 on repairing my bike. Each time the staff were abrupt, robotic and monotone. It wasn t enjoyable being there.
I had them replace the tubes and tires to keep good maintenance and my first ride the tire popped. When I brought it back and asked for an accommodation on the price, I just got the same single line response three times. I paid the $22 and will not be going back.
I went in thinking there was something wrong with my chain and the guy in service told me it was fine, but it did need to be greased up. So he lubed up the chain for free. Nice guys and they work at a cool bike shop.
GREAT service ! Andy patiently helped me pick the perfect bike for a gift ! He helped me compare different bike models, given that I knew almost nothing about bikes lol. The bike was delivered quicker than I expected and assembled ! Thanks so much! Definitely recommend this place !!
Best prices, quality, and speed for service in Brooklyn. Retail is also pretty good and they have a great website for checking stock or ordering to the store before you go in.
Best bikeshop around! Reliable, well-stocked (even during a pandemic) and honest.
Friendly staff. Knowledgeable employee helped me choose good riding shoes for my needs, didn t upsell me at all.
The guys at Ride Brooklyn are amazing. I've bought several bikes from them and they've always been extremely helpful and patient. I've learned so much from them about bikes over the years. They really go above and beyond!
I needed to get my handlebars switched out in a hurry (new brake levers, cables, tape job, all that) - so, the good man Frazier (Frasier?) helped me out. I left my bike at the shop for about an hour before it was ready to go. I was told that I was lucky to be alive because my old brake cables turned out to be shifter cables! This was a terrible/dangerous job done by a certain bike shop on Myrtle near Fort Greene Park - but I won't say any names. Anyway, Habitat did a great job. Thanks.
They allow reservations, gave me a discount on a day rental for a road bike. Great service, nice people!
It was great the line is super long but service is very efficient and workers are nice
Wow, this bike shop is awesome, the service was incredible, I will be spending so much money here in the near future, excellent service to all ethnicities, very fast service, wish they had more locations especially in crown heights and prospect heights
The quality of their repair shop in the back of the store is fantastic. I have had no problems with repairs at all. The rest of the shop is a bit off-putting as with any cycling shop it feels almost as though you're obligated to make a purchase the second you step through the door. They are certainly friendly and knowledgeable but I always feel rushed whenever I enter a bike shop.
Awesome experience after having a hard time getting in anywhere else! They took my bike and fixed everything by the end of the day. No phone tag, no appointments! This is my new go-to spot for bicycle repair!
Great people and amazing service. Don't know what I would do without these guys.
Came here after a crash to get my wheel trued. Got a call saying they couldn't true the wheel, and needed to replace it. The wheel was under warranty, but I wanted to get out on the road hence got it replaced. Came by to pick the bike up, the repair work was satisfactory, but my original wheel was missing. They said they would call me in they found it, never did. $400 under warranty wheel, gone. Really surprised because I had heard good things about this place. For what its worth the staff is friendly, but shocked they lost/disposed of a part after a repair. This has never happened to me at any other LBS in the past.
Ride Brooklyn was a great experience I highly recommend this bike shop! The staff was very informative, supportive, they have a clean shop, super organized everyone had a mask and beyond professional.
Great service. Absolute experts at what they do! Andrew was very helpful as well as the other guys.
Superb service from a group of knowledgeable and kind staff. As a queer male, bike shops can be an intimidatingly masculine space but here I felt welcomed and even learned a couple things from the folks who work this establishment. Will come back. RECOMMEND
Every time I go there for either a repair or to buy things for my bike, these guys are patient enough to explain anything you need. Outstanding service and can guarantee your bike is in good hands. Highy recommended.
Very hit or miss depending on who is helping you. Went yesterday because I got a flat on my rear tire right by the shop. The person who took my bike did not seem happy or excited to be at work at all and generally unhelpful. Only did the absolute bare minimum. It was so off-putting that I decided the other items I wanted to purchase were not worth giving any more business than I had already decided to. However, the person that brought out my bike was more helpful than the initial person. I d say go spend your money somewhere else unless you re really stuck in a bind. The only reason I m giving it 2 stars is because the repair was speedy and the second guy helping seemed like he like he actually wanted to be there. There are so many other bike shops to choose from where there is a much better vibe.
Fixed tires on my Xiaomi M365 super fast at a very reasonable price. Thank you!
These guys are super nice and knowledgeable. They have always gone out of their way to be as helpful as possible.
I love Ride. Excellent service, great product and repairs, but if you need anything during the pandemic, clear your schedule to wait in a line outside of only 3-5 people for 1-2 hours.
Great staff! Very knowledgeable. Will definitely be back!
Its a bit of a hit or miss. For the most part great service and reasonable prices for the quality of their parts.
Pros: they won't upsell you
Cons: sometimes the work feels a bit rushed e.g. a break not properly adjusted, handlebar not aligned properly
But for the most part they do solid work and get you what you need.
During COVID-19 get ready to wait in line for a while. Once waited an hour in line. Once they assisted me it went smoothly. They send you a text when your stuff is ready. They also have a separate line for prepaid.
Went in and they were really busy and told me they prob wouldn t be able to fix cables on my e-bike for 10 DAYS...two hours later it was fixed! Talk about underpromise, overdeliver! Very nice, professional folks! Thank you!
Andrew and the guys at Ride Brooklyn were phenomenal at helping my friend and I rent bikes for the day. They were super helpful in picking the right bikes for us, adjusting the bike to our comfort, and provided locks and helmets. They even took the bikes back to the mechanic to make sure they were ready to ride before setting us loose. I would definitely recommend using Ride Brooklyn for your bike rental needs!
I am so upset by the way I was handled just for trying to find out about some bikes for my kids on father's day.... and on top of it all....there were people who was able to came in after me and make purchases.... There was an employee who walk past the people who came in after me and approached me with such determination to escort me out of the store...... I will be glad to take my money elsewhere
Great service fix bikes and sale bike's great people while crowded the line goes professionally service My second five stars I given
Incredibly busy when I arrived, but they had time for me. Gave me clear options for how to fix my bike, a price estimate they ended up coming way underneath, and really prompt service. Made my bike breaking down turn out to not be such a bad thing, cause this is my go-to bike store now.
Always fix my problems, customer service is on point, are cheaper than other places I went to and you can pay via venmo and just pick up your order. This the spot bro
Always has what I need in stock and gets repairs done within 1.5 hours. Cant complain.
Same day bike repairs. Usually a bit of a line bc of everyone is riding more during pandemic, but goes quick and staff are super great!
The worst place to get service from, know ur price before u fix ur bike, cause they will easily rip you off.
Great service. Get there early, there's usually a little line. Staff is extremely helpful.
very nice shop. friendly stuff who know what they are doing with your bike. and good prices too. highly recommend it.
Shawn, one of the mechanics, was not only speedy in turning my bike around, but also helpful. He took the time to explain exactly what was wrong, down to the details of how long my bike would last with this fix. It takes a special kind of knowledge to explain a world of terms to someone with no prior word bank. I left feeling like I had made the right choice. I'll definitely be going back!
Took my friend to the shop to meet the guys and get his bike fix. Awesome Dudes. They will keep you rolling.
Got very bad service here. Ordered a bike, after more than a month of no communication (and put down almost 400 dollars deposit), I go in and decide to just get a bike in stock. They put it together after a few days and then I do a test ride and the derailer broke off while riding bc it wasn t installed properly.
This scratched up the bike a lot. They fixed it, didn t let me know...so I finally call back and now it s ready. I bought it, but my brand new bike that wasn t put together properly has multiple scratches and is missing the reflectors. They didn t offer any discount or acknowledgement.
I m so frustrated with the poor service here. I got the bike I wanted and it s tough to get bikes in the pandemic. But the service was terrible and I m upset my new bike is damaged. I won t be getting my bike serviced there bc there was zero attention to detail, bad communication, and not even an apology.
Went there to get my lock stand tighened or replaced. Unfriendly / unhelpful employees, barely responding. They charged me 8 USD + taxes to spend 5 seconds tightening it. It was yesterday and the lock stand is getting loose again anyway.
There was also a huge line, I waited for almost an hour standing up outside the shop.
Try to avoid except if that s an emergency, it s unpleasant.
Knowledgeable, helpful staff. Like most places, they will let you test ride. They seem to have some excellent deals there for some great bikes. Highly recommended!
Good people! That's pretty much all I need to know. Will go back to them again and again.
Great store! Really helpful and will make sure you have the right bike, not just a a bike. They really care about their customers and making sure they leave satisfied. Best bike store in the borough.
OMG, what sweeties! I often just go in for simple stuff -- in this case the mechanic, whose name I didn't get, was super helpful in setting me up with a spoke and cassette removal to do a spoke replacement on my own and recommending a local bike maintenance class. Thanks for your help!
Terrible service. The wait to get the breaks fixed on a bike I was literally purchasing the same day was ridiculous. I shouldn t have to even repair a brand new bike, but here we are. No offer to call when it was ready just stand outside in the middle of a pandemic. No one even came to see what I was waiting for an hour and a half?? There are plenty of hipster bike shops in Brooklyn. Save yourself the time and go to a different one.
I get little bits and pieces from this shop on occasion. They are a reputable bike shop.
Great bike shop, Great customer service, Great knowledge. I was have a problem on my brake pads. They said "You have to change the pads", but I didn't have a time. Then they tighten the brake cables and fixed the problem's small part immediately. They saved the my day!
Horrible service, won't respond to any emails and incredibly rude staff. Don't go here.
i bought a bike for my daughter....i little on the pricy side, but we enjoyed the customer service(Daryl), and because of the wonderful customer service(Daryl), i bought the bike. Plus, my daughter had to have it. she a A+ student at LIU Brooklyn........
Front desk team is nice and kind. Go there if you need to buy an accessory etc.. Their prices are reasonable.
Repair team is a nightmare. Avoid if you need any work performed, especially if you have an uncommon bike that requires certain expertise.
I tend to support small local shops like Ride Brooklyn. I see them as the hearth and soul of the neighborhood. I know Covid caused a biking boom and they re busy, but that is in no way an excuse to perform a sloppy job. I seriously hope they ll soon hold a staff training on how to properly address customer concerns.
Super helpful staff. Ricky inspected my gears, and my breaks, oiled my chain, and told me all I needed was to replace a cable. While Ricky replaced my cable, George helped me find the perfect lock, showed me how to put it on my bike for best theft protection, remove it from its mount, and how to protect my front wheel using a cable I already have. Oh, they also cut the combination lock on my cable so I could use it again.Thank you for all the help, I will be back for all my bike needs!
Great bike shop ! A good friend recommended to me I took my bike to get a tune up and my handle bars replaced . Dan attend me and made me feel as if I was home these guys are great and they would educate you on things you don t know even with the whole pandemic going they are 100% reliable
Go check em out.
I had them tune and refurbish two bikes. Very nice, very knowledgeable, and very careful about our money.
These are great people and they work hard with a LOT of people coming in and asking questions, asking for oil, or a quick adjustment or just advice on bikes. They are all pulled in a million different directions and are always smiling and friendly. All this said, the ONLY reason I didn't give 5 stars is that they forgot to attach my kickstand and give me the keys to the security bolts they attached. I didn't realize this until I got all the way home. So now I have to go back. They should have checked that I had everything, but I also should have checked before I left. They are holding these things for me and they're offering to install the kickstand if i bring it back. So, though frustrating that I spent several hundred dollars and didn't get everything I paid for, the helpful personalities, knowledge and pleasant experience makes up for a lot. Just check everything before you leave.
I bought my bike here right in the middle of the pandemic and have been going back a couple times for brake tuning. Nick is so knowledgeable and efficient. I would recommend this shop 100% to everyone. They treat your bike with care and attention like no other.
Super helpful and friendly.
Had a bike fitting with Peter that was incredibly informative -- made a 20+ year old bike feel brand new. I'm riding more comfortably and efficiently than ever!
Andrew and the team are professional, kind and helpful
Used this shop to rent a bike and explore Brooklyn. Excellent value ($25 for bike, lock, and helmet for four hours) and friendly staff. Provided a bike map and answered any questions.
Nice shop with friendly staff. Been super busy since the pandemic so plan your stop accordingly
Super nice and helpful! I needed a replacement foam insert for my helmet, no one sells them, but they found one and gave it to me for free.
Definitely a business I would feel good supporting!
Brought high end road bike in for full service these guys went the extra mile taking extra care to wrap tape pro, clean bike, organize cables etc. Great stuff very talented team.
Has become my favorite LBS. Very friendly folks and great service (tune ups, headset adjustment)
They have a knowledgeable and attentive staff. It put me at ease spending money with them because they answered my questions and my concerns.
Really great service. They replaced my wheel in under 20 min and were very friendly people.
Came here to select a bike for my 10-yo son and am so very happy that we did! Alex spent nearly an hour with us ensuring that we had the right fit, accessories and maintenance/safety tips. His knowledge and patience were absolutely outstanding!
These folks are always friendly. When explaining repairs and cost they are thrifty with my money and consider less costly option. I have full confidence in them!
They're always incredibly efficient, reliable and friendly. Complete trust in them. They've also tried to stay open during covid - cutting back hours and limiting the number of people in store - you can wait outside with social distance. So grateful to have them still open
