Bakery, coffee shop and drive in all at this location. Food is Hawaii style comfort food. There is lots of parking and easy to get to location.

The food & service was really well done The services good & the food, ono to the max! Especially the Ox tail soup.Aloha Nui Craig 1311 Ward Ave.

What can I say zippys is and will always be a local favorite.

I got the tripe stew. It could have had more flavorful. The fries were good. This was my first time so it may be a hit or miss kind of thing. Lots of stuff on the menu. Would try again and may update review.

I love being able to make phone orders and pick on my way home. Parking can be tricky due to stall size. So often big cars/trucks go and parnking can be difficult. Food is consistent at all locations.

Fast friendly service. Liz was a very attentive and enthusiastic server. Food came out correct and ono.

This is the best Zippy s on Oahu!! Not just the food is excellent but it s the employees and managers who with the local culture and always smiles on the face makes you feel like family and right at home!!

Been going to zippys since 1977. Still pretty much the same. The chili is their no. 1 seller. Every thing on the menu is good. They have a take out, sit down area and restaurant area as well. One of my all time favorite place.

I didn't feel like cooking and I wanted a place I could sit quietly and eat. The salmon I ordered was less then stellar but they did a good job of cooking the brown rice. I ordered the small portion and had just enough room for a cup and a half of decaf coffee and a slice of yummy custard pie.

If you don't like dealing with karens (small k) I would recommend avoiding zippy's at this location. Known for their mediocre food which has recently switched to microwave prepared, zippy's is conveniently located and has free parking. On a recent visit, a family member was accosted in the restroom by a Karen with arms waving, fingers pointing and insults flying. This karen in a Hope chapel jacket, marched straight to the manager who in an effort to appease her, stormed right up to our table to counsel us on the one person bathroom policy. Perhaps Zippy's should do one of the following: 1. put a lock on the inside of the door. 2. Put an occupied sign on the outside of the door. 3. Assign a full-time employee to monitor the restroom or 4. Escort karens to the curb and ask them to check for parking meter violations. Instead he chose to ruin the time that we had for this meal with my family. I won't be back anytime soon especially since the microwave in working overtime at Zippy's now due to the lack of personnel in the kitchen, and washing your hands in the restroom can get you assaulted.

Food is okay and cheap and the servers are really friendly

Local style restaurant Oxtail soup is recommended. In addition, Corianthin and Loco Moco are delicious! Take-out is good, but this store is better to eat in the restaurant than other branches.

Comfort food...you know what to expect...nothing special

We had a club meeting in the private room which was great. The waitress was very pleasant and friendly. Even though the restuarant itself was short handed (3 people called in sick), our waitress did an excellent job.

Nice place, normally you don't have to wait long for a table to open up. Wait staff are so spread out tho once you are seated it may be another 20 minutes or longer before they come and get your order -unless they are super slow then every 5 minutes or less they're at your table asking if you are ready. Food is good but for some reason at this location they claim to never get shipped half of their Daily Specials...

It was nice to go to Zippy's in Makiki and have lunch with our good friend. The dine-in was crowded but we were able to be seated right away. The waitress came right away to get our drink and food order. It didn't take long to get our drink and food, and we were ready to eat. I ordered the small portion chicken katsu, my husband had the oxtail soup and my daughter had the regular size Korean chicken. What made it eve better was the large bowl of Portuguese bean soup. The service and the food was GREAT. Thank you Zippy's!

Place was big enough for our rowdy group. Service was attentive right up until after we got our food...but I just wish they came by more often to check up on our empty water glasses.

Kahanu our server was and is always excellent! Very friendly, always greets my wife and I with a smile. I always ask for him. Great personality, makes Zippy's fun! Zippy's needs to take care of him, a great asset to your establishment!
