Amazing performance. Highly recommend. I will be back!
Great theater that puts on the big Broadway hits you've heard of, plus the more obscure ones too. Definitely smaller scale productions, but still some of the best theater I've seen.
Older theatre, but the performance of Kinky Boots was top tier. Would have been nice to bring in wine. 8 dollars a plastic cup is pricey by any measure. The pour was okay, but, $$$. Willing to support local theatre, so I drank it up.
Nice cozy theater, wish there were more restrooms & roomy aisles & seats but can't complain because away least we have a theater with live plays.
Known for top notch productions, DHT is a true gem. The casts and crews brings the theatre to life. I absolutely cannot wait for Newsies!!
Amazing performances in a quaint theater. Free parking across the street. 4 stalls in women's bathroom, ugh.
Love it! Have never been disappointed there. The talent of everyone involved is so remarkable.
Spoiled from Broadway performances, I didn't expected such an elaborate show on Oahu. Tickets go fast. We were able to secure last two seats next to each other. Highly recommended!
The BEST place to experience live theater. Next best thing to Broadway. Exceptional local talent.
Totally wonderful as usual! I have no idea how they continue to get better and better!!
Excellent theater. They put on great plays almost all of the time
Opens on Saturday! However the best bet is to buy your tickets online as the convenience fees still stand at the box.
Got season tickets. Best deal. All great lroductions
Excellent productions and fabulous talent. Highly recommend.
Big theater. Clean and love the shows that plays here.
My fave theater with great seats no matter where you sit! "Nice work if you can find it" is a great priduction!!!
I liked it but some of the songs were um.... ew. And some stuff annoyed me. They didnt really explain what happened because there were to many songs and to much singing.
Great place. Great theatre. Great entertainment. Excellent classes.
Just came from the production of Holiday Inn. Great job & lovely costuming!
The new concert series out back is innovative and fun.
Love this theater. Having been to several other theaters, this one is small but a perfect atmosphere. It makes it feel more at home and friendly. The people there are always a joy and the shows are always a treat. I always leave smiling and excited for the next performance they will have.
Great show. The cast and crew made a fantastic production of "Rotten".
Did not give a fifth star because seats were uncomfortable and narrow. Other than that, they do a great job!!!
kinda just a spot along my main moto biking route !!!
Great little theater! They played the newsies and it was an absolute great show! I'd go again if I was still living on oahu!
Always a place to enjoy wonder musicals or plays. Every seat a good one.
Entertainment from high quality performers, cast and directors.
As much for what DHT does for the community as it's always excellent productions
No bad seat in the house! Easy to find, lots of parking...overflow at KCC.
Well casted and professionally directed production ... Choreography...set design well done ...
Beehive - Diamond Head Theatre
Wow!!! I have to bring my mother to watch this show. I can guarantee that you will know 95% of the songs in this feature. All classic 1960s music with a very well done narrative of the life of Women in the 60s... through music.
The start of the show felt a bit slow. Ok, I was at the preview, but i think it felt a little rough because the audience didn t know how to respond. Pulling Teeth is how could better describe it but Artistic Director John Rampage did tell the audience that the performers were ready for the audience to play along.
As the songs started, I was bobbing my head, tapping my feet, and clapping my hands. My first cheer came when You Can t Hurry Love came on... still one of my favorite songs ever. My first tear (yes, I will admit that I cry during awesome moments) came on Will You Still Love Me as they did it with so much affection. My heart jumped on Where The Boys Are because I know Connie Francis is one of my mother s favorite artists.
My A-Ha moment came when Abraham, Martin, & John. The whole company on stage with beautiful harmony touching on some of the most significant events in the 60s and the whole history of the U.S.A. At this point I was sold.
Make time the time to get to Diamond Head Theater and watch Beehive. If you do, the final act about Woodstock, which I purposely left out, will let you know that this show is worth the price of the ticket!
Bravo on all their shows. High production value, excellently executed. The prime place for live musical theatre on the island.
They bring in great talent! Very good shows, amazing musicians!
A fun nostalgic type of theater with talented orchestra and actors. Great costuming and stage scenery. I love how the orchestra is off to the side instead of in an orchestra pit because it's easy to see them.
Park across the street in the Kapiolani Community College lot.
Pretty good theater. Decent size and good production.
Great local production! Acting and singing are top notch! I love this place, and always enjoy the performances. Oh yes, they have a live orchestra. Worth the price of the admission ticket!
Wonderful venue we saw "Murder on the Orient Express" it was wonderful really enjoyed it.
Wonderful theatre with such hard working and friendly cast and crew. Their costumes are fantastic!
Diamond Head Theatre offers very good productions in a setting that is small enough to benefit everyone in the audience, but not so small that it feels cramped. They also offer a variety of classes (acting, singing, dance) for local youth.
The building is on the old side (it's been in place for over 100 years!) And parking is somewhat limited - those are the two main drawbacks.
This is a wonderful place to see theater, to take dance classes, or participate as an actor. I just really enjoyed the people, the environment, and the positive nature of this theater.
As usual, a great production and some powerful vocalists!
This review is specifically geared toward their Music Theater Education class for Homeschool kids. It's fantastic that they offer the program. Very few organizations offer homeschool specific programs. My son had fun but he didn't really learn anything he didn't already know. He has been in 5 previous musicals so experience might be the reason.
My other complaint was this is the first MTE group we've participated in that did not have a legitimate production at the end of the session. Although, their 15 min show ar the end was cute.
Older theater, but we saw a hilarious production. A little warm bc I dont believe they have ac or at least good ac.
Always a wonderful experience at the DHT. The artists give their best...110% to entertain. I look forward to the next performance.
Next to kcc diamondhead n fort ruger market great area great performance of arts hale
A first-rate community theater. We have enjoyed two shows here and can t wait to see another! Parking is particularly easy with a large lot right next door and there are world class dining options like Town under a mile away. Basically a date night waiting to happen!
Unfortunately had an emergency and had to leave at halftime. What I saw the play was good
Sweet little theater with an enthusiastic staff and cast
Kinky Boots was awesome! Singing and dancing great. I am greatly impressed with all of the cast members talent in their boots! Too cool...
Just saw Murder on the Orient Express. Well done. Was very surprised to see that HNL has such a high caliber community theater putting on so many great shows. We see at least 3 per year. Never disappointed.
this is a wonderful intimate theater. Every seat is a great seat. Productions here have all been fantastic including tonight's.
A terrific theater putting on Broadway quality shows!
Parking across at Kapiolani Community College is perfect!
I have been impressed with every performance I have seen it Diamond Head Theatre I'm always amazed that amateur actors take the time to do an exemplary job with their roles. And, the theater is awesome. It is old and quaint and every seat I have ever sat in has a good view of the stage. DHT is a quality operation.
I have season passes and my grandma and I see every show. Always a great time here
Horrible Acting Classes for children! Teacher is very MEAN! Instead enjoying Acting my child has stress and fear!
A wonderful theater for the old standards! The cast competently executes every show I've seen and there are occasionally extraordinary players. This isn't the place to find the edgier shows, though. And ticket prices for community theater (as for everything else in Hawaii) are on the high side. Season tickets are the way to go if you enjoy mainstream shows at a discount.
World class performance by local cast, fabulous stage sets in an iconic grand theater.
Enjoyed the intimate setting, but maybe a little too cramped.
Theater Magic on a rock in the middle of the Pacific.
Go see Murder on the Orient Express. Even if you know the story, beautifully portrayed by the cast, crew, and design team.
