Good food & service. Just not safe with 3 older "Women for Trump" walzibg around the lobby seating area and a Teump cap standing in line also choosing to not adhere to the posted policy on the door and talking without a mask. It is unfortunate that this behavior could very well force another shut down, or worse, needlessly infect others.

We did have to ask for lunch menus, they don't just offer them. It was really busy and the waitress never brought us any bread but our lunches were really tasty. I got a chicken schnitzel wrap with chips and I would totally recommend trying it.

As a vegetarian, which is obviously not the target customer for a place with these specialties, I can definitely say that the food quality and flavors are awesome even on their other choices. I had the Eggplant Parmesan, and it's nearly the best I have ever had. Portions are generous, breads and sides brought before your meal are delicious to the point you will probably end up taking food to go from filling up on them. Beer selection is neat, with a few German made and some more obscure like one from Alaska. Obviously my friends who came for the Chicken Dinners were obsessive over the quality too

Ho hum. Nothing special. After all the hype, it was just ok. It was a special trip for my Mom and me. We looked forward to visiting Bonner's and eating at Zender's for months...kind of made me sad.

Zehnder's is very old which gives it a certain home like feel. Broasted chicken dinners are served family style. If you're looking for authentic German fare look elsewhere. I took my German friends here who were more than a little confused and told me"Germans don't eat fried Chicken, we eat pork". I come here not because it's authentic,if I'm being honest the chicken is just mediocre. But the traditionally dressed waitresses and fun themed dining rooms are enough to keep me coming back.

I have been going to Zehnder's since I was a kid. It had been a tradition to go evey year in the fall, always a good memory and I kept the tradition with my family. However, in the past few years the quality has gone down. It used to be a classy place that you would dress up a bit to go to, not so much now. It felt almost like a food factory the way the push you though. The dressing was 0 out of 10. The chicke was still good but a bit dry. The noodles are the best 10out of 10. Service was awful. Had to keep asking for stuff and it finally arived as we were leaving. So sad to see such an be loved icon go down hill like that.

We don't normally eat here but always stop in at the bakery when we are in town. Their chocolates and baked goods are fantastic. Of particular note are the various options for strudel (apple, raspberry, cherry, and (our favorite) blueberry. Also, don't leave without picking up some pound cake in blueberry, lemon-poppyseed, plain, apple-cinnamon, and cinnamon chip (amazing).
Here's a tip. Either arrive early (as they only make so many in a day) or call a day ahead of your visit and tell them what you would like and they will place them aside for you. Also inquire about other varieties that may be available on a seasonal basis.

We went here for my husband's birthday dinner. I am not able to eat wheat, so I looked up if they had any gluten-free options. They have a menu online! I got the heritage steak, and it was phenomenal. All the staff and servers are so More

The hostess was nice and friendly but looked like she rolled out of bed. She could have done up her hair..it was falling out and very messy. As a hostess she didn't present herself well.

Mediocre food in large quantities. The all-you-can-eat is kind of fun, but the quality of food would be better if it was $15/person rather than $25/person. We had gotten the sausage and schnitzel as well, but they were similarly "meh." Their dessert is just normal soft serve as far as we could tell. They have the dining experienced organized and down to a science, though. Nothing was bad, per se... everything was simply thoroughly mediocre. The way my siblings and I would describe it is "A 5 Star experience of a 3 Star restaurant."

I'm not really sure why it is so popular other than its previous/existing fame and proximity to the Frankenmuth gift shops. I assume the food is mediocre because there's no challenge to be better when it stays busy in spite of that. And maybe it's good to some people, but I think you can get a better deal elsewhere.

My husband and I went a few weeks ago with our 1 yr old son...we usually always eat here and it is pretty good. This time, the food was BEYOND AMAZING!!!! Even our son, who can be a picky eater when out in public, ate everything. I don't know what was different this time, but keep it up!!!

I dont know what all the hype about this place is about. It's over crowded and loud. I did however like the family style serving they did but that was about it. Maybe we just went on a very busy late afternoon but definitely probably wont be going back. Lots of others were having a great time. Definitely go and you may love everything about it and I hope you do it just wasn't my cup of tea.

It's funny how the younger generation never ask for your ID for the free Bday dinner but the older ones ask for ID and the
Zender card. The chicken was good, love the seasoning. You make the best stuffing which always goes good with mashed potatoes and gravy. The service was good but the waitress was too loud to where you could even hear her through the whole restaurant addressing other people.

I love Zehnder's! They have delicious food. The all you can eat is a bit pricey but well worth it. On Sunday there is a buffet and it has a great variety of delicious food. Their dress is similar to the rest of the town. Everyone is really polite as well.

The food is tasty. However, considering how long the wait to be seated is usually and the cost per person for the family style dining option, I personally would prefer to dine elsewhere.

Something didn't seem right about the chicken. It had a taste life of one day. Almost like it is purchased with a one day expired date, because some places know they will sell it out. I could be wrong. The food was. Not good at all. I'm sorry this is just my thoughts. Ps. The mashed potatoes tasted like salt. The waiting staff was great won't take anything away from them. They were great.
Just the food. Here is the picture of the chicken thigh.

It s 20$ for below avg fried chicken and a few sides. Not a great deal. And the chicken is better at pretty much any grocery store. Not quite German themed enough to make it worth the experience.

Typical of almost any restaurant or building in Frankenmuth, this one is extremely well maintained, clean, and beautiful. They have purposely kept the old style charm but at the same time it is modern. Food was extremely good, and there was about three times too much of it. Well worth getting an appointment or a reservation to eat there

Preston was an excellent server and the food was spectacular! It was my girlfriend's first time visiting Frankenmuth and she absolutely loved the restaurant. She couldn't stop talking about how beautiful it was!

Chicken and breads delicious. The rest of the dishes were average. Shortage of greens or vegetables with the dinner. Waited 30 minutes with a reservation. Good waiter. We will try other restaurants if our travels bring us to Frankenmuth again. But we will stop by the bakery store downstairs.

I've lived in MI for my whole life and it took me 57 years to make the trip for the best chicken around. I was not disappointed. I booked online yesterday for a party of seven and we arrived 15 minutes early and were seated immediately. Four of us opted for the family style chicken dinner, two had the perch and one the chicken schnitzel parm. All loved their food. The service by Carrie was top notch. A well oiled machine this place is. I can see us spending the next several Thanksgivings here. All the food we cared to eat topped off by a delicious orange sherbert. We did not feel rushed and I enjoyed every minute of the experience. Five stars! Nice job! The only negative I can come up with was the taste of the water, reminded me of well water from our family cottage. Probably just the local stuff that they have no control over. A late Thanksgiving dinner with my kids and their S.O.'s that I will cherish.
