I didn't go to the restaurant because of the 2 hour wait. Instead i went down to the Z cafe in the basement. The server was picking a box off the floor with her plastic gloves on. After she finished, i asked for a salad. She picked the lettuce, cranberries, AND grated cheese with her fingers and put it in the bowl. No Thanks!

The experience was very underwhelming. Too much unhealthy eating Carbs fats and sugar overload. Would not visit here again. No German cooking to be found
If you are looking for a German inspired little vacation town, Frankenmuth is the place to go. Zehnder's of Frankenmuth is one of the best attractions with their delicious and famous chicken. It is a mouth watering experience.
I went to Bronners as I do every year. Had a great time. Everything else was a ghost town due to COVID. I did patronize Zehnder's bakery. Just not the same. Staff great as usual; just had nothing to offer.
The food was good, if not authentic German cuisine. But the prices have escalated over the years and now a meal costs well over $30 per person (before a tip).
As usual, it was extremely crowded and quite noisy making conversation difficult without the need to shout.
Many people are drawn. I however, am not not so favorably impressed. Were it not for certain family and friends' inexplicable fascination with this place, I would be fine if I never returned.
As always, amazing food, iconic decor, and premium service. Go there when you're hungry, you will not be disappointed. Best chicken dinner anywhere, bar none.
We drove 1& 1/2 hours just to eat at Zehnder's. Our wait time was only about 10 minutes. We had a wonderful cheerful, polite waitress. Our drinks were served quick. We both ordered the Famous Zehnder's Chicken meal. My favorite is the Liver Pate' with the garlic bread that comes with it. The Cranberries were delicious and tasty. The Stuffing was on the bland side. You could taste the sage, but other then that it was like watered down bread.
The mashed potatoes were alright. The gravy was good. The corn had some tiny mixed vegs in it. I didn't like it that much. I just like plain corn.
The cole slaw was very delicious and flavorful. They also had cottege cheese which I love. It was good.
The noodles & bread crumb sprinkles if you will was very delicious this time around. I don't know what they did to it, but keep up the great work. Also the chicken noodle soup was very good.
The chicken was a little bland but tasty. The white meat was a little on the dry side, but the dark meat was very tender and moist.
We sat in the bar section. We never sat over there before. It was nice, a bit noisy but nothing major.
The ice cream was nice and cold. They still put the little plastic animals or mermaids on top of the occasion cream.
Other than that we had a very nice time and WILL come back again.
Today is Saturday August 18, 2018. We always eat at Zenders, but today was very frustrating and disappointing. We stood in line for 1 hour and 45 minutes. The wait could have been shorter if your dinning room staff had a sense of urgency. Tables just sat, waiting to be cleaned off, one table by us sat dirty for half hour while the hosts where leaning against the walls. It is very clear that your management team lacks a great deal of management skills on how to get people to work and work with a sense of urgency. Your entire team is lethargic and lazy. Oh yeah your chicken dinner is not worth $22.95 any more. Cheap portions. You can tell they are controlling their food costs. Good luck if you decide to eat their, plan on spending 3 hours. I goofed on my reservation (booked later than I wanted) and the folks here made it right for me quickly. The servers here work as hard as anyone. Schnitzel was pretty good, not the best I've ever had, but decent. We got way more food than we could eat!
I'm glad we experie it The food was good, nothing exciting. Our server may have bee new she kept forgetting anything we asked. Theming was cute. Thought the price was high for what you get. We didn't get extra hpings because our waitress kept forgetting.
I would like to start off and state that I have never had a bad experience at Zehnders. With that being said our past visit was for lack of a better word was..... Fantastic. We happen to be blessed with a joyful edition to our family this year and had your mashed potatoes as his first non baby food and this moment was shared with the chef who was carving the roast beef. He was a delight to be around and was oh so humiours and pleasent with fit in perferctly with the atmosphere. I did not catch his name but was a tall black gentlemen was said that he hailed from Saginaw which struck a memory with me for I too hail from saginaw,. We knew each other schools and was like walking down memory lane. But in closing THANK YOU ZEHNDERS COOTIOS TO YOU ALL.......
Went in as tour group. They were ready & greeted us with more food than you could imagine. The dessert was fantastic, even after being full from the family dining experience. Beautiful building inside & out.
My family and I dined here this past Father Day while visiting Frankenmuth for the first time, we were told by everyone we talked to that this was a must try place. We made reservations online the same day and received confirmation of it as well but when we arrived they could not find our reservation. It was not a big deal though they seated us and there was plenty of space. Service was ok, atmosphere was nice and portions where more then enough almost to large to be honest, I would imagine a lot of food goes to waste which is concerning for me. The amount of appetizers one person receives is enough to feed a whole family no matter how much you can eat! Again you definitely get your moneys worth but I could not even eat a quarter of my app. Prices are very reasonable would recommend to any friends and family visiting this beautiful town.
Awesome food, beautiful restaurant, very large with all kinds of different rooms. Service was exceptional we did the family style. As much as you can eat they keep bringing it out. Our waitress was top notch way ahead by bringing drinks with out asking and making sure we were taken care of.
You pay for the experience here, the food is ok but over priced! They can get stupidly busy so call in advance to get a reservation made. Servers are usually quite friendly and food is always warm when it comes. Fair warning though I don't go during their busy season! Not worth the crowds.
Came to Frankenmuth with a big group, about 30 people total. We dined in the lower part of the restaurant where there is a buffet style set up. Food was surprisingly good, breakfast is all you can eat, so great value there. The lines moved quickly and the staff was helpful and accommodating. Definitely a great spot to eat in Frankenmuth.
You've gotta love Zehnder's if you live in Southeast Michigan (or anywhere, for that matter). The family-style chicken dinner is a tradition, nothing is quite as home-y as the buttered noodles, fried chicken, and mashed potatoes that come unlimited with the meal. Frankenmuth is an experience, and Zehnder's is the centerpiece! Always quick service and great food.
