Excellent food, just like the Bavarian Inn, but better service in my personal opinion.

Great themed atmosphere old German style. The family style chicken dinner is very good and is completely all you can eat. It comes with garlic toast and cheese or liver spread, white or stollen bread with homemade jam, cottage cheese, coleslaw, cranberry Orange sauce, and chicken noodle soup. The dinner is fried chicken, mashed potatoes and gravy, noodles, and stuffing. It also comes with soft serve ice cream.

Good food at a not to bad price point. The chicken was good and all of the food was real, made from scratch good.

An overabundance of food, which was okay. Sort of disappointed in the "famous" chicken. Possibly because everybody hypes on it. Wasn't bad, but wasn't 5 star.

Great time as always, lots of things to look at. Good way to get into the Christmas spirit...

Greatest chicken on earth, been going their for 35 years.

My family and I shared the all you can eat family style chicken dinner and it was excellent! It was well worth the price per person. I recommend reserving a table online because it fills up quickly even if you are coming in just as they open, our wait time was literally seconds. Service was excellent!

Always a favorite. I've been coming to Zehnder's since the 70s never disappointed. This time I had the Caesar Salad. Didn't add the chicken, still stuffed when I left.

We planned a small family get away for Christmas and it was amazing!!! We reserved 3 rooms and they were immaculate! We arrived early to make use of the Waterpark before check in and to our surprise, found that one of our rooms was already available :) The kids and adults alike enjoyed the huge water park, especially the drop slide :) Our group ranged in age from 2 years old to 40 something and there was something for everyone to enjoy! My wife forgot her wedding rings in the room and when I called to see if the housekeeper had found them, they assured me that they had been found and been put in a safe place. They offered to send them to us, but my wife insisted that she drive back the next day and pick them up, they were very understanding :) The hotel staff from the front desk, to the water park, to the restaurant staff to the housekeepers were all WONDERFUL I absolutely recommend you stay here when in town or if your planning a get away!!!! And, it's always Christmas at Bronner's ;)

First time that I was disappointed, the chicken was over cooked, but the rest of the food was good

THE GOOD OLD DAYS ARE GONE. THOSE OF YOU READING THIS DON'T KNOW WHAT BUILT ZENDER'S AND BAVARIAN IN. BACK WHEN THE TWO FAMILIES WERE COMPETING FOR LOCAL FARMER'S AND SHOP WORKER'S BUSINESS. WHEN CHICKEN WAS SERVED ON PLATTERS AND YOU COULD PIC WHAT YOU WANTED. IT WAS A TIME OF CELEBRATION. FAMILIES WOULD GO TO CELEBRATE, ENJOY GREAT FOOD FULL OF CHICKEN GREASE AND FAMILY. YES I REMEMBER WATCHING THE WAIT STAFF BOBBING AND WEAVING HUGE TRAYS OF FAMILY STYLE FOOD AND GLEAM IN OUR EYES WHEN THE BOUNTY WAS SAT AT THE TABLE. CHICKEN LIKE MOM MADE (BETTER) GIBLETS IN MOUNDS, MY MOUTH WATER'S JUST REMEMBERING THOSE SITES 50 YEARS AGO. THEN THE STATE (FOR OUR HEALTH STEPPED IN. OH WELL. NOW YOU GET PROPORTIONED EVERYTHING AT A PRICE MOST FARMERS CAN'T AFFORD. YES AMBIANCE COST BUT I WENT FOR THE FOOD. I KNOW THEY STRIVE TO GIVE SERVICE BUT IT IS NOT THE SAME.

Service was great. Food was mostly great, chicken moist and tender but lacked flavor. It tasted better with their seasoning on it.

Was not impressed. For as much as you pay, I could find better tasting chicken at a grocery store deli.... The chicken was dry and the crust was so so bland. The service was good and the sides- mashed potatoes and German noodles were fantastic and seasoned appropriatedly. However, for chicken being the main dish.. it was not good.

It s the unseasoned chicken so me...I m sorry ....but the ice cream ins good so a star for that :/

Their bakery has so many variety of goods. The aroma will make hungry.
Apple strudel bread is my favorate

If you visit Michigan this is the one place you have to try Family Buffet at its finest awesome

The atmosphere is wonderful and the food is amazing.

It's more about the experience then the food. The restaurant at Christmas time is beautiful, The staff at zehnder's are always kind and helpful. The food is expensive for chicken really being the big deal thing here, but It is yummy and again it's more about the experience. Our family loves it!

A classic stop if you're going to Frankenmuth. It's got good, home cooked food that makes you really feel like you're at a family gathering full of all kinds if good food to try. A nice experience and it's a fun change of pace.

I'm not a fan of their food, but it's nice to walk around. The food is ok, but it's overpriced and isn't worth the cost.

Decent place to visit. My family and I usually come up in the fall and visit all the stores. We do the chicken dinner once in awhile. Its ok chicken in my opinion. But some people love it. Many neat shops in and around Zenders to check out. Always a fun filled day.

The family style chicken dinner is definitely something to go for since the amount of food is beyond huge & well worth it. Bring your appetite since you will definitely need it

My mom and I had a wonderful meal. They were extremely busy due to the memorial day, hot air balloons & the dog bowl all being on same weekend. Glad we had made reservations for Dinner.

So, it was okay. They had a buffet when we were there. The main things on it were fried (broasted maybe) chicken, sausage/onions, and fried shrimp, not a huge variety by buffet standards. The food was good, but seemed a little pricey for the quality to me. I've had less expensive buffets that were just as good and not in Frankenmuth of course.

Food still tastes the same at Zehnders(thank you so much Z). The town has built up so much. Not fat from the Birch Run outlet mall, downtown Birchrun, about 10-15 min from Flint, about that much from Saginaw and 21 miles from Bay City. Definitely well centrally located. Definitely going back. Want to stay up there next time too.

For seating over 100 people, we weren't crowded. Food was very good. Service was good also.

This place is a joke im more then happy telling the owner the the food is sub par dont go here just go to kfc and get a bucket of chicken

I love how it stays as close to its roots as possible. This place has alot of history behind it and it shows, in a good way. But let's not forget the main reason why y oil y go there. The food. And they never disappoint, we go at least once a year and their food is always the same great quality. And the quantity is more than satisfying. You can make a few meals out of one night there for days to come. I have heard some people say the chicken there is nothing special but in a world where a chicken has to be smothered in some type of sauce that is either sweeter than honey or as spicy as the sun is hot I believe this recipe of breaded chicken can hold its own.
