We decided on the family style buffet. They bring you tons of food.. you will not walk out of this place hungry! The chicken is the best we have tasted from a restaurant like this! Very friendly staff and we will be back!

The place is pretty well put together. Mainly spent our time at the water park, which was great for the kids and adults. They have slides and pools for all ages. The drop slide is thrilling if you're looking for something to get your heart racing. Though we didn't eat at any places in the hotel, everywhere was clean and the food all smelled good. We took the Zehnder's bus to the restaurant which was a nice convenience. Food was okay there but not worth the price. The hotel rooms were spotless and spacious, beds were comfortable, and vending machines were not too far. They played a movie for guests in the lobby, which was projected on the wall which I thought was cool. I didn't make it to the arcade, but passed by a few times and it looked nice. I saw a lot of the same games as Chuck E Cheese and some other really cool ones, but the price was a little more than other places and you could easily spend more than you wanted. Overall it was a good trip. If you're into the water park side, I would choose Zehnder's over Great Wolf Lodge. We will be planning another trip here in the near future.

I grew up not far from here and went with friends as a nostalgia trip. It seems that for celebrations and banquets we went here (or the place across the street!) a lot, so I was excited to visit it again.

We went around 4pm and had almost no wait (enough time for a visit to the bathroom). Seated in a booth, we could hear each other talk, although we were near the staff entrance to the back area.

Our server was appropriately attentive (and she was very busy). We each ordered the family style chicken dinner ($22).

There was ample food - chicken, mashed potatoes, filling (I wouldn't call it stuffing), gravy, brocolli, cottage cheese, liver pate (yuck), beer cheese spread, four types of bread, cole slaw...I am sure I am forgetting something ... and the signature orange sherbert with little animal for desert.

We were stuffed. We were able to take the food off our table home (great so that it wasn't wasted). The food wasn't, however... delicious. It wasn't BAD - but....it wasn't DELICIOUS. It was (almost) bland. I am guessing they have cut out spices (salt?).

So glad I went. Don't need to go for another 20 years.

If you've never been - go! You know you want to. Oh, and ask for crayons and coloring pages for the kids.

OH! and they have a squished penny machine!

only the coleslaw was very enjoyable.

Hour and 15 min order was finally ready. Portions were small for what we were paying . They asked like they are super busy , but really not that busy. Won t be back!

Family-style dining is best with a large group, and the last few times we've hit Zehnder's we've had large tables and have made fantastic memories. The sides are delicious, the staff is fast and friendly, and the chicken keeps coming... We'll be back!

A Frankemuth institution. The dining rooms are warm and cozy. Our server was on the ball and didn't miss a beat. Everything we had was delicious. The chicken, coleslaw, bratwurst, the list goes on. If you only have one meal in Frankenmuth, this is where you want to be.

Maybe I'm getting old, but this place just doesn't live up to the hype. It's fried chicken folks, it's tasty... but it's fried chicken. Go once to say you've gone and don't ever go back. It simply is not worth spending two plus hours in the restaurant for fried chicken. Plus, our waitress forgot our chicken when bringing the food. Uh, what? Go elsewhere, save some time, and enjoy everything else Frankenmuth has to offer.

Had a so-so experience. I was highly anticipating the food since I had heard only good things about it. We came on a busy night and didn't have reservations. The wait was long but once we finally got seated we were greeted by our waiter who was super friendly and explained a bit about the food and the restaurant itself. We weren't too happy with most of the food, chicken was cold and sides were lacking. Besides the food, our experience was great thanks to the location and our waiter.

SO good! This is a classic tradition for many around the holidays and you will leave so filled. The chicken is famous and oh so good! Make sure you take a stroll downtown after you eat as there s some great shops. Oh, and expect a line but they do a good job at keeping the line moving.

Look for coupons online before you go. Visiting Michigan and stopped in. Later I did a search of the place to order one more item and I found a coupon for a free ornament with 30 spent. I spent 175 in the store. Would have been nice for the check out person to suggest looking online before I paid. Not their job, I know, but would have been nice. The store itself is incredible.

It's good food. It's not the best or greatest ever, but it's yummy. At least with the fried chicken dinners. I really prefer all the side dishes. The liver pate is really good. For me, going here is more just something fun to do every once in a while. If you're looking for amazing fried chicken, I recommend "Gus's World Famous Fried Chicken".

It's been a while since we've eaten here, but we remember the food and staff being exceptional. Wish we could say the same today. The chicken was bland, the mashed potatoes tastes like instant, and I presume the mac and cheese was from a can. The rolls and my kraut (my bratwurst was okay) on the other hand, were fantastic. But not enough to make up for the dinner and waitstaff (that we had to tip before dinner). Probably our last dinner here.

We ate at 4 pm on 8/18/18. It was busy, but we were warned that the kitchen was running behind. 2 tables left as we sat down, because they were waiting to long We ordered the famous chicken dinner , the vegetables, gravy, and stuffing were cold and the chicken was small and wasn't that good. I was very disappointed, and did tell the waitress, she apologized and that was it. I have been going there for 30+ years and I won't be back. I might just go to KFC they are cheaper and the food is hot.

Wasn't overly impressed with the food, and the atmosphere was a little try-hard, but my goodness the service was the best I've received in a while. Couldn't have been happier with my waitress, and even the host that sat us was so friendly and made small talk well.

It was my first time here. Our waitress was nice and gave us the best service. We got fried chicken and roasted chicken . The roasted chicken was so dry. Not so many options on the menu and the sides of food compare to other place.

Ever since the addition of "prime" rib and new and supposedly better shrimp to the buffet that brought the price to over $30 per person, the service has dropped below what I consider acceptable. Yes I know it's a buffet and the only things the servers are responsible (for the most part) for is clearing plates and refilling drinks. I consistently wait to even be greeted at the table and have extended wait times to get my bill and then pay. It makes it difficult to even consider dining here as often as i like and used to. Kinda sad really :(
