Stunning modern theatre with thought provoking plays! The way seats are laid out meant that you can see clearly wherever you are sat (unlike an older, converted opera house type theatre in the West End where if you have an upper seat you are miles away from the stage). The plays are thought provoking and leaves you talking about it for hours after. Great selection of wines. Big fan of the plastic-free water option as well - canned water is the way forward!

It was the play that made the evening - Jesus hopped the A train. Slick minimal staging which worked excellently and suggested so much. Super acting by all with great dictionary. Musical interventions that startled and contributed so successfully.

Consistently brilliant productions. Love the fact that the main auditorium is so flexible and changes so radically for each show. The Cut bar has great food for pre-/post-dining and drinking.

Pretty cool place, I didn't visit the theatre though, just the bar area. The service was alright, nothing special, the place itself was quite interesting. Lots of space, big outdoor terrace, two bars joined onto a theatre hall. The food wasn't bad, though just had tapas style plates. All in all it was okay, oh and the toilets were clean so that was a plus!

Fantastic venue, if visiting London just take a chance a book whatever is showing here (if you are lucky enough to be able to get hold of tickets)
You will be safe in the knowledge that it will be a fantastic, modern and thoughtful production - if you want to understand what's so magic about London theatre - start here.

An excellent theatre, with a usually pretty strong and varied programme, but also a fine drinking establishment in its own right with a hip (but not hipsterish) young crowd making this a very enjoyable place for a drink on a Saturday night. Or any other night of the week for that matter. An excellent selection of beers and a balcony bar makes this a very impressive drinking venue. Catch a play and have a beer afterwards.

A great production of Twelth Night.Being in the back row we were on high seats with foot rests, which was not as bad as it sounds and suprisingly comfortable. The bar was very crowded and the service slow. We gave up in the end and went across the road to Cafe Nero for a coffee.

Really fun productions are hosted here, its easy to get to and has plenty of food/drink options nearby. Will definitely be going back now that I am keeping an eye on the shows that they are running. Efficient organisation and something a bit different. Recommended

Innovative, friendly and decidedly not up its own bum venue with a nice bar that seems to make a habit of showing things that then go onto greatness. Very fortunate to have it nearby. Halfway between Waterloo or Southwark stations, it s a very short walk along the cut from either and there are some great places to eat on that road too. Well, there was before I turned vegan. Don t know how I d fare now.

Incredible fresh and contemporary architecture that makes it feel more like a living room than a theatre. The theatre itself allows for experiemental and avant garde performances but honestly, even if the theatre weren't there I'd still want to come and hang out in the bar or upstairs on the balcony overlooking the Cut. Exactly what a contemporary theatre should be.

This theatre is a world away from the nearby Old Vic! Showcasing new and interesting work, plays here can be a bit hit and miss. The space is intimate and generally feels a bit rough and ready, which suits the work. Definitely a place for the open-minded theatre goer.

The Young Vic has a lot to offer theatre goers. The seats can be reconfigured no matter the production allowing the audience to get the best views. This feature also allows the theatre to optimize the space. I saw a production there in which Patrick Stewart played William Shakespeare and was very satisfied by the experience...........................................

A flexible theatre space. I've seen it in several different configurations from standard theatre style to in the round and also repurposed to look like an office meeting room. The bar and restaurant here is also very good. I highly More

True story: The management tin this place wanted an alternative to the fire alarm warning voiceover, as they wanted the voice to have an immigrant accent . That and their black lives matter and EU banners proudly handing outside the venue, tells you everything you need to know about these bigoted little haters.

Nice place, great performance great bar and very friendly front of house staff. I'd recommend it if your in to theatre if not it's small enough for those who want to try it out and not be part of a huge crowd.

A small theater. With a very interesting structure in a circle around the stage.
A small and extremely interesting space. Worth a visit. Furthermore, the works presented here have important topics to discuss.
It also has a pub in the lower part where you can eat or have a drink before, during and after the show.

Saw Fun Home here & was my first visit. Theatre is excellently organised with what appears to be no bad seats. Particularly liked the optional of gender neutral toilets & tap water freely available at the bar.
Was a really warm day & the theatre was well air conditioned which was very welcome.
Would be happy to see any play here & it is possibly one of my fave theatre venues now.

For theatrical performances, I rate this place 4 to 5 stars. Very little we have seen performed here has been less than above-average. We have been regular attenders at the Young Vic for more than 20 years.

However, today, 17th September 2016, we were insulted before the afternoon performance of "The Emperor" One member of the staff wrongly accused my wife of tampering with reserve notices on seats, where there had been NO such notices when we arrived in the auditorium. When we complained about him to the house-manager, a lady, we were accused of lying because she said that as she had not been present at the time of the incident and therefore could not be sure of the truth of our complaint.

What has happened to the idea that the customer is always right? Is defending the mideeds of a colleague more important than maintaining good relations with long-standing paying clientele?

This kind of behaviour will make us reconsider whether to book any more tickets at this theatre.

PS I have the names of the staff who upset both us and are ruining the theatre's reputation, but will not reveal them in public as I do not wish them to feel as humiliated as we were made to feel.
