You can have a cocktail while making reservations and waiting for your seat, but it's not just a bar.
It was nice to be able to enjoy various menus even if I went alone because the amount offered per menu was small.

The bathroom was fine, the food was delicious, and the waiting area was good. The reason I subtracted one star was that the attitude of the white server was not so good to me.
The other servers were good, but I did not feel good at the same time.

I do not have the same server all the time, so I'm willing to visit again.

waiting staff are slow, three times we had to make the same drinks order multiple times with different waiting staff - and this was at 3pm on a Saturday where half the restaurant was empty. Food was ok, nothing mindblowing. If you had to choose between Hakkasan and Yauatcha, go with Hakkasan.

Vegetarian cuisine: presentation top, taste just okay, but overpriced, service rather cool, friendliness is missing. In addition table still not finished on time despite reservation and bar overcrowded with waiting guests

Today I had a date with my new girlfriend, the food is beyond outstanding and unimaginable. My girlfriend is very happy with dim sum and the food and a date has turned out to be successful. We would love to come back again soon.

The food was great but the service needs work. There was a mistake with my order which meant I was served food that had been sat on somebody else s table. The waiter took it from that table, walked around the restaurant with it and then brought it back to us. As if we couldn t see what he was doing! The mistake is understandable, but when the wait staff try and pull the wool over your eyes (and can t even do that properly) the addition of a 13.5% service charge doesn t go down well.

Great dim sum and tasty cocktails. The scallop dim sum was a bit too fishy for my liking and the poached chicken dumplings had way too thick a pastry and were extremely slimy so picking up with chopsticks was impossible. Rest of the food (selection of vegetarian dumplings) was good pretty tasty

This is the best Chinese I have been to. The interior is modern, clean and gives the impression of a high standard. The food is fantastic from start to finish I wish I ordered more dim sum than I did though! Cocktails were nice and refreshing. Staff were fantastic throughout, able to help with the menu and give recommendations and very welcoming. Definitely going back next time we are in London

nothing about this experience was pleasant. waitress didn't smile. didn't ask how our food was. the rice was served cold - this is a crime if you ask me. the food was so bland. i was so shocked. for the price that they were charging, i was expecting exquisite taste. the duck tasted like tuna. if you want chinese, walk down a couple of blocks to chinatown and get real flavour. so overpriced. I will NOT recommend this place to anyone and actually tell everyone to avoid it. the absolute worst chinese i have had in a while. the chinese restaurant chain, bamboo basket has better singapore style noodles for a fraction of the price. the food was so bland. i'm just so shocked. In so much disbelief, it's laughable. Save your coins and go elsewhere, please. Please.

Still looking good and food is upto scratch service has gone down a little over the last 10 years or so but still great for at a reasonable price in cental london. Also now get a 2 hour slot not the old 1 1/2 you use to get.

We have been to Yauatcha before both in the City and Soho. This time we found the service pretty poor, the table next to us complained. We probably should have done. The dim sum was good but not as good as last time and probably not worth More

The dim sum at Yauatcha is excellent and well made. The venison puffs had good pastry and a rich tasting filling. The har gau was superb, having a good coating and fresh prawns. Shui mai was equally as tasty. Mushroom spring roll with black truffle was crisp and extremely flavourful. The cheung fun was brilliantly made as so often in lesser restaurants this dish would have been oily and limp.

The dim sum was simply superb with little to fault, taking classic dishes and bringing them a notch above. Service was amazing as well - professional and attentive, which is so often lacking in Chinese restaurants.

The dim sum here is amazing and really out of my expectation. We ordered one traditional and ritual set for two people. The sticky rice in leaf lotus and seafood black truffle dumpling are my favourite, the taste is really authentic and delicate. Will back again this August.

So our first impressions weren't the best when we arrived following a reservation. The host didn't ask if we'd like to sit in or outside and so we were put straight onto an outdoor table in the cold. When we complained about this they were very polite and moved us to an indoor table.

The dim sum was good but nothing to be overly impressed with considering the price. I've had better in cheaper restaurants. The duck was very good, a little dry but good flavour. The stir fry lacked any flavour but had good sized juicy prawns and was a good portion. The flavour really was disappointing however as it was so bland.

The most positive things on the menu were the cocktails which were outstanding and the patisserie at the end of the meal was delicious. Quantity wise it was well portioned, but I wish it tasted as good as it looked. Overall I probably won't return due to the lack of flavour in the food, but it wasn't a terrible experience. I could just get better for cheaper elsewhere.

Lastly, the restaurant had a very nice ambience inside and the toilets were very clean and well decorated. The service was slow but very polite and friendly.

Had a "nice" meal here but food was hit & miss- - great Dim Sum is not that hard to find in Soho and the Crispy Duck was dry and unappealing (as was the service). However the desert was fantastic!

A must go! Really cool place. You have to reserve a table, otherwise it is full. You can come before and take a drink in the bar. The food was really good. A lot of Japanese and Asian food.

Starters and desserts are wonderful. Mains less so and pretty average. One of the dishes part of our set menu arrived very late and at the same time as the desserts, so we sent it back.

On the venue itself: upstairs there are huge aquariums that weirdly have no fishes inside. Apparently they all died during the heatwave in the summer and haven't been replaced. This and other signs show that this place feels and looks tired. They need to rethink it.

The wide and diverse selection of dim sum will make you feel that you need to try everything on the menu, leaving you in a rather blissed out food coma.

If you manage to make your way through the various freshly made dumplings, finding yourself still wanting more; try the salt and pepper squid, Thai chicken and soft shall crab. Then leave room for desert. The restaurant is well known for the artistic cakes lined up for passers by to see in the window, and they're not to be missed. Even if you can't squeeze in a full cake after dinner, try the sea salt caramel or coconut and lychee macaroons instead.

This is mine and my boyfriend's 'special' place - now that we've agreed to always get our own plate of the venison puffs. Always have something new and interesting in the menu - this time the wildcard pumpkin and duck which was the highlight of the meal. Beautiful desserts as always (my only comment would be that sometimes they are too cold, like they've just been taken out of the freezer)

Food was fantastic get the Venison Puffs, you won't regret it but the service could be better, especially when they slap 13% service on the bill. The waiter who took our order was incredibly helpful but seemed to be managing so many tables that it was impossible to get hold of him again later. A second waiter who seemed to be mostly on bag service was rather rude when dealing with us and simple requests for more water were ignored (for some reason they won't leave a jug of water on a table for you to use??). When it came time to leave there was a lot of confusion and wait over jackets as well.

Undoubtedly due to it being a busy night, but given its location and reputation you'd have thought staffing wouldn't be such an issue. Food was great, but I'm loathe to return on a busy night.

A mixture of Chinese dim sum and French style patisserie. This place isn't cheap, but the service was very good in my opinion. I only tried a few veggie dim sum, but it was flavoursome and filling. However, the lychee pudding I had (chosen because it was super pretty) was overly sweet so we couldn't finish it. Recommend the sesame macaroons though.

The food is nice, but considering the cost not really worth the money. It struck me as a classic case of style over substance; like I said, the food was nice but with uncomfortable chairs and constant bussling around the table (Yes, I acknowledge food is delivered when ready, but pouncing as soon as my water glass looks slightly less full to top it up, especially when we said no in the first place, is a little much), I felt I was paying more for the mood lighting, excess hostess type staff, and giant fish tank as much as the food.

My partner and I were keen on some traditional yum cha style food and this place was a good half-way point for us. The service was impeccable and the food was almost as good as our resident Yum Cha restaurant back in New Zealand. The only downsides were how pricey it was and how low the chairs were (my legs are long and it was not comfortable). If you are looking for traditional trolley yum cha this might not be the place for you but it's delicious and you'll be well taken care of.

A perfect and peaceful setting in a great city. Excellent and refined cuisine, every bite is a treat. The service is perfect, the waiters are smiling and always present when needed, for example, when the glass of water is empty, a server intevient without being called to fill it again. Surprising at first but very pleasant. I recommend this restaurant for anyone who loves Asian cuisine.

Food fantastic but service pretty poor. The waiter was friendly but either too stretched or under trained. Wine bottles removed from tables. Had to ask for it to be returned each time we wanted a to up. A minor inconvenience but frustrating towards the end of the meal. One main was served 10mins after the rest. Great surroundings though.

So much hype about this place, must reserve in advance. Trendy, beautiful interior and some delicious and beautifully presented dishes in coordinated plates. Not everything we tasted was up to the expectations. Visited on Wed, at 7 pm. The music was very loud, making it impossible to carry a conversation, the drinks were standard, the service friendly, but also a bit too casual, borderline sloppy, too dark at the lower level. Overall, more about the presentation than quality.

Utter disappointment: once a delectable, fascinating location in Soho, Yauatcha recently treated my guest and I terribly. On arrival, ushered into the bar area and isolated like a pair of old socks, thrown a drinks menu versus tea and food, and then were successfully ignored for 30 minutes. What has happened? For so many years I enjoyed every aspect of Yauatcha, and now I sense it is turning the corner into an old, unemployed actor from the 50s that no-one cares for and who's jokes land like an ice-cream in an oven.

This is a wonderful place, full of the buzz of being in London, and is still packed after all these years. The food is some of the best Chinese inspired food you can find in London. We were upstairs, and liked the light airy atmosphere, and lovely bench seating. Good access to go and choose the desserts lined up in the window too.

I've been to Yauatcha at least five times over the last two years and had a pretty much faultless experience each time. Cocktails are great and dim sum and food are consistently good.

We came for a late Sunday lunch.
Excellent service and food.
Attentive service. Even though there were a few mistakes, they were quick to rectify them. The waiter offered to exchange my dessert for something else when he realized I was allergic to peanuts after I had eaten half of the dessert.
Food was authentically Chinese, either simple or elegant and better than homemade Chinese food. This was the case for pork belly, fried rice, and hot and sour soup with mushrooms. The scallop shumai was the best I've ever had out of all the shumai I have eaten in my life.
Tea (Roguei from Taiwan) was the best tea I've had outside of Taiwan.
Dessert (Matcha tart) was of generous portion, delicious, and full of different kinds of texture. I loved the green tea sprinkles/crumbles underneath the ice cream and in the tart. It's a fancy tart, as was the scallop shumai.

Although pricey, it is worth the money.

Update: We came back on a Monday evening and the service was rushed even though we had made a reservation. The food was lackluster this time around and they didn't serve our favorite dessert we had a month ago. Hence, I downgraded the rating. It isn't my favorite Chinese restaurant in London anymore.
