Honestly not my cup of tea. We wanted to try a mix of things here so we went for the set menu.
Starters were very different a nice change to what we normally have. Mains were too over powering and I found it very difficult to finish. The staff were really professional and friendly. Dessert was really good.

Well, let's start from the start.

Well, let's start from the start.

It was our son's 14th birthday on 20th October and he was keen on chinese. After considering some options, I thought Yauatcha would be good. I had dined here last almost 11 or 12 years ago and had loved it!

Called them to make a booking. The guy who spoke to me when I made the booking wished courteously - so the starting itself was great especially as he acknowledged the fact we wanted to celebrate a special occasion

He also said that out of all desserts we order, one would come from them with a candle. That sounded good and felt nice!

Then our server (Mila) was very good! Didn't wish "Happy Birthday" when we were seated but provided excellent service throughout and gave very good advice on ordering also

Had it not been for Mila (our server), we would have over ordered. Full marks to him for his guidance and knowing how much food should be enough.

The food was superb!! Delicious and well presented. Beef puffs, Steamed fish, soft shell crab bao buns - everything was superb! The Peony ice tea and Tokyo cooler were excellent drinks!

Later he got the dessert platter made and then gently wished "Happy Birthday". And the birthday message was piped on the platter too.

The ambience is great too. And of course, we weren't rushed. Good practices were being followed during these COVID times.

Overall, a really lovely dining experience. Highly recommended. Later we saw on the bill that one dessert had also been taken off the bill. So, full marks on everything

Perfect Birthday celebration!!

It's slightly pricey, but you get what you pay for which is excellent food, really friendly service and lovely atmosphere. I went as part of a group of 12 people and they were really accommodating. Lastly they were also very understanding about my lactose intolerance.

Loved the food and the location. Unfortunately the service was a bit rushed. We were running a bit late due to issues with the tube but yeah... I didn't expect our menus to be grabbed from us so that we couldn't order more food and were constantly reminded of the time left on our table. It was particularly annoying because tables next to us barely ordered anything but were taking up space.
It's a bit pretentious but that's expected

Nice

Yauatcha Swiss Cottage on Deliveroo

Yauatcha Swiss Cottage on Deliveroo

OMG 100 pounds for 3 people delivery dinner for nothing like the quality from the restaurant! AVOID!!!! In my opinion they should strip the deliveroo option of the brand yautcha compeletely. Came out greesy and oversalted food with nothing like the quality you would expect from the main restaurant.

Too expensive for the quantity and quality of food presented. Did love the Cheung Fun with Prawns and Bean Curd but the rest of the dim sum section is subpar at best. It took way too long for 8 or so dumplings to arrive and I spend almost 90% of my alloted 1.5 hours waiting for the waiters to serve or arrive with my food. Totally not worth the hype!

Amazing place.

Ask for the bottom floor! It has much more vibe

One of London's top Chinese restaurants.
Great dim sum that deviates from the traditional dim sum and combines interesting flavours and textures.
The cakes are beautiful to look at and delicious.
I prefer coming here for tea and cakes on an afternoon (check out their Chinese tea smoothies).
It can be incredibly busy on weekend evenings, full of the usual tastelessly rich London implants.

The place is really beautiful, the food is delicious, but the service was not very good for such a hyped place. I had a booking made a week in advance for 20:30 but I got my table at 21:20 I waited 50 mins! The hostess wasn t very helpful, but I understand it wasn t her fault. If you come here be ready for a long wait!

Have visited today and definitely will be returning! The food is out of this World, the staff goes above and beyond to cater for all your needs, absolutely fabulous place and high class customer service!

I don't want to speak Ill of the food here because what actually arrived at the table was pretty good. Unfortunately there isn't much more good to be said. The first thing the hostess told us was that we had only 2 hours on the table, which seems irony given how slow the service was. The restaurant had no more than five other diners inside when we got there and yet the service was Incredibly slow. The water who took our order seemed generally distracted and disinterested. Which perhaps explains why the food took forever to get to us. Half our food didn't arrive on time and they tried to deliver a different order to us on the meantime. By this time the restaurant was chaos which lots of waiters milling around failing to bring food to the right people and two floor managers rushing about achieving little. In the end we had to cancel half our order and leave in order to make another reservation which was dissapointing.

I've also got to leave a note about the Insane WiFi that was asking me for my gender and wanting me to set up passwords... I'd have serious concerns about GDPR compliance if I was them!

Great dim sum in London. I love this restaurant. There is deserts that look like pieces of art. Every dish and pastery I had was super delicious. I took pictures, I would just have to find them. It's a great place to catch up with friends and to share food. The toilet room was super clean with an interesting sink.

What an amazing dim sum venue! Loved all the dishes we had.. and we had a lot!

The congee was earthy and comfortable and familiar, the wagyu beef puff just melted in the mouth, the cheong fun was loaded with char siu and the crispy soft shell crab with the fried flaked almonds was incredibly moreish.

The restaurant was clean and modern. The waitstaff were amazingly attentive. And between the four of us, we were surprised at how inexpensive it was (we had expected to pay a lot more, given its more upmarket appearance).

I had been before to their parent restaurant Hakkasan and had a poor experience (not due to the food, but due to the service; we felt incredibly rush and felt we were constantly being watched and hovered over to try and turn our table around as quick as possible. Not what you would expect from a Michelin Starred restaurant at all..) but I was very impressed at how different Yauatcha was.

Would definitely recommend Yauatcha over Hakkasan for an overall experience.

This place does do good dim sum. Some of it is excellent. But if all you want is great dim sum, there are other places in nearby Chinatown where you can get it, just as good or better, for half the price.

However if you want fancy extras on top - lavish decor, stunning deserts and fine teas (at considerable extra cost) then this is a fun place to live it up.

The set menu is basically a trap.

The set menu is basically a trap.

I don t understand why this restaurant get so much hype and good rating. It s expensive and i think the food taste definitely not worth the high price.

At first, it was quite understandable, but we felt cheated after being told that rice included in the wok meal. Why? Because, on the options for side dish menu set, only a bowl of rice that doesn t have extra charge. Imagine having 4 bowls of rice for your set menu. We had to upgrade for other options just to avoid having 4 bowls of rice.

And the pudding, after all the upgrades we had, we decided not to upgrade the dessert. The only option for the set, only macaroons that included without having to upgrade it. When they served it, they gave us 3 pieces. We ordered 2 set menu, and we got 3. What if i was there by myself? Do I get 1 and a half macaroon? Or it was supposed we get one tiny each and the other is extra? Have no idea.

Chinese restaurant specialized in dumplings. It has a varied menu of 45 pounds or you can choose to your liking. We tried seven different types of steamed dim sum, fried, rolls, with a few beers. All very rich, some far removed from the traditional concept but also very rich. About 30 pounds per person.

As a Cantonese girl I had extremely high expectations of this place. And I have to say, the dimsum was the best I've had in London, quality-wise. Mmm we ordered all the classics and my boyfriend's favorite was the venison puff. For me, loved all of them (although the vegetable dumpling could have had more flavour). Price-wise over-the-top and I would have preferred to sit downstairs because upstairs the tables and seats are strangely really low. So book way in advance for this.

We had the mixed steamed dim sum for starter, which is lovely texture and ingredients are fresh. The main are all tasty too. Desserts were the right portion that taste great and won t feel guilty about it. A bit pricy but you get what you pay for.

Very good experience, with good food and friendly staff. Went there at 9pm on a weekday with no reservation and was seated immediately.

More high-end, interesting flavor combinations, and presentations than most of the Chinatown restaurants.

Casual chic with nice deco and intimate atmosphere.

Pricey for dim-sum, but it's worth it. The steamed dumplings are like little works of art, and the pork ribs are excellent (just like how my mom makes it!!) The ambiance and cocktails are nice as well, making this an excellent dinner spot.

Wow!! Just wow!! Not much more to say about this place, Dim Sum through to our desserts were incredible, had a party of four for this cover and each one of us absolutely loved it. Waiters and waitresses were very attentive (which is something to be expected at restaurants like these) had a good laugh and conversion with them. But more importantly absolutely great food!

Very poor and disappointing service. It s too difficult to order food as no one comes to us for more than 20min though there are loads of waiters walking around. Absolutely no idea how this restaurant got a high rating.

What a spectacular find: Exceptionally well crafted Chinese food meets modernist cuisine! Start with an imaginative and perfectly mixed cocktail (our favorite was Szechuan Margarita). The menu is full of excellent dishes that seem to have been deconstructed and reassembled with an eye toward enhansing the uniquely Chinese blend of textures and flavours. Make sure to leave some room for desert which had received the same thoughtful modernist treatment.

Very friendly and helpful staff looked after us. he was from Eastern Europe. His recommendations were perfect for size and taste and matched exactly what we expected. The food tasted so good and presented very nice. The sweets were amazing. The place is a bit pricy but worth it. We had a comfortable and nice experience and would like to go back again

We had the Taste of Yauatcha Tasing Menu and the food was brilliant - a really varied menu and a good price for the quality and the amount of food. The desert was exceptional as well. The service was OK - they forgot my friends drink and we had to chase it twice. The seats and tables are really low so not comfortable for really tall or pregnant people.

This is a big restaurant serving Chinese food. The food is absolutely amazing, testing the food here is a must. One of the best around. Tables can sit big crowds about 10. The staff are very friendly and fast serving.

Great customer service and a good variety of dishes. The steamed pork and prawn shiu mai was delicious. The venison puff was tasty and was different to the usual dim sum. I have been here many times and can't fault the standards of the restaurant. Recommend making a reservation beforehand as it can get busy especially at the Soho branch.

Have not eaten here for several years. Delighted to report that it has maintained its high standard. Wonderful food. Particularly enjoyed soft shell crab and spring roll with mushroom and truffle. Fairly expensive but well worth it.

Zero consideration for guest food prefrences. On the first page of the menu it is indicated that if you have any food limitations you should inform the waiter. I explained mine, and the waiter informed me that from all the menu i could order only buck choy. I asked if there was no possibility to alter any of the other relevant items on the menu that could fit, waiter said: we don't make any changes. This is when I realized that the restaurant does not care about their customers at all. My companion ordered several kinds of dim sum and said they were good. I ordered a soda.

The food was enjoyable, however I burnt my mouth on the dim sum quite a few times haha! We were also squashed around a small table which was quite unfortunate; we all got to know each other a little too well that night! Otherwise I would recommend it to all!

I was totally blown away by the quality of the food, it was incredible. Also, we had not booked ahead, just popped in and despite it being very busy, we were seated in a very short time. Very good service.

The food was very good but it was not nice a waiter who said hello to me like "Ni hao"
I knew he did not do it on purpose but even if I have the face of Asian that does not mean all Asians are Chinese
