This hotel is the most dirty I ever stay.I find the cockroach in room and a Unknown bug bite me, you can see a little blood and the murderer. I feel not good.....
This place is the best and excellent coverage for Great customer service. The place to stay to explore Philadelphia and especially Pennsylvania.
Great location and fantastic looking lobby. However, the rooms are very outdated. It feels deceiving comparing the two. No fridge or microwave in the room, stains on the carpet which was bunched and needs to be stretched. Broken lamp shades and dirty dirty bathroom ceiling. Disappointed.
Very good. Convention rooms were clean with good amenities.
Very nice, big, clean hotel. They charge extra for a lot of things, like breakfast and WiFi. But it was still cheaper than most other hotels in the neighborhood. Great location.
Took water in shower about 25 minutes to get hot. My outlet in the bathroom did not work. Fixtures coming off wall in bathroom. They Only give free decaf coffee in the room. The room was clean, just really worn down. Desperate need of an upgrade.
Nice clean spacious rooms. I need of carpet and wall paper upgrade. Convention facilities were excellent.
Poor service. Team of rude people who serve you as if they are doing you a favor.
The attendant made a point of being unpleasant during the extremely expensive breakfast.
Wi-Fi is not free and is very expensive. I will never return to this hotel again.
Horrible!!! Bed bugs were stung all over our bodies. They changed 2 times of room. The toilet clogged for 2 days and we had to use the public toilet on the ground floor. Dust in furniture, lamps and curtains. The receptionists very unfriendly. Impossible to deliver claims sheet. We asked for the bills and the account when we left and everything was ok. When looking at the Visa they had loaded amounts that we do not know what they are. Buffet very scarce and very expensive, without variety of anything. Payment Wi-Fi. I will never again stay in this chain of hotels. Low quality bad service and high price.
The staff was extremely polite, helpful, and caring towards our situation. Our daughter was having Surgery at a nearby Hospital. Every time we entered, the staff would inquire about how she was doing. From the wonderful lady that helped me make reservations over the phone, to the garage valets, bartenders and waitstaff, to housekeeping and maintenance... everyone went out of their way to make sure we had the best time possible under our circumstances.
Disgusting hotel that was starting a much needed renovation. Sorry excuse for a Starwood/Marriott property.
Nice for a quick stay and a quick get away, in the city.
This hotel is going through renovations ( much needed!)and is very noisy. Avoid until done
It was a decent stay but nothing special. Nothing bad happened but nothing stood out as especially nice. For example, the sleeping rooms were clean but the interior decorating in both lobby area and sleeping rooms were empty or bland.
Room had green stains all over the floor. Room well past needing an update. No hot water each morning. Called front desk and was told they had to reset the hot water pump so had to take cold showers. If I was not there for a conference I would have checked right out.
I stayed here back in February and I had a great time! Staff was extremely accommodating and kind, breakfast was great, and the room was well kept. We enjoyed our view of the city, and the location of the hotel itself was close to all the museums we wanted to visit. I will definitely come back next time I stay in Philly!
Went down for a Saturday night in the city. Room was dingy and tired. Wall paper was peeling on wall. Showerhead was loose. Room needed an update. Went to the restaurant in the lobby, sat there for 10 minutes and no one came up to us. Got up and left to go somewhere else. The price was reasonable, but definitely not an upsale hotel.
Located opposite the Cathedral and gives you the ability to walk to most places downtown. Hotel however is aging and requires refurbishment. Front Desk Service was below average, restaurant food was average. Restaurant staff were excellent.
I'm really disappointed for this Hotel. Gor the price, and being a Sheraton branch does't deserve the price paid. The parking lot, very bad service, I had to pay for a private one. The breakfast, only can get a couple things for person, and very expensive also. I really regreat to take this place at least in Philadelphia.
The room was fine, but the "complimentary" breakfast that came with it was awful. They had breakfast sandwiches that looked like they fell out of a vending machine. There was also a loud whirring sound in the lobby from the garage connected to the hotel, which we were not told about. We also saw bugs in the hotel lounge area. Next time I'll get an Airbnb instead...
Check-in took 30 minutes, but otherwise it has been a great experience.
Dirty, they gave our room away and supposedly upgraded us when we were supposed to be able to sleep 5 in our room and when we had asked for a cot they said it was against fire code so one of our people had to sleep on the floor and took them a half hour to bring blankets and when they did they were dirty. Staff was rude and had an attitude.
Ugh. This place was so dated and dingy. From the stains on the carpet to the peeling wallpaper and creaky old beds. Keys kept becoming demagnetized. The bartender saw us sit down and didn't bother to wipe down the obviously dirty counter. Very disappointing for a Sheraton. Totally not worth it. Will never stay again and won't recommend it to others.
Busy hotel, so there is often a delay at the front desk. The rooms are clean and staff is friendly. The club room doesn't stay stocked due to large amount of guest, so only soda and water. The continental breakfast is average. The only issue I've had so far is getting my reward points for green choice.
Old and run down. They clearly don't do maintenance, and lots of things are broken. Shower was cold. Lights are dim everywhere, and the fitness center is downright dark. The club lounge was utterly depressing. It's tolerable, but not worth much money.
Great location. But the room was pretty filthy. Not something I've ever complained of before at a hotel. I'm pretty easy to please or overlook small nuances. This had crusty comforters (both beds-nasty), and what appeared to be blood stains on parts of the walls and drapes. Room 1827. Also a guest decided to play their music as loud as possible at 3:30 in the morning. I ended up calling security to quiet the noise.
Nice hotel with friendly staff. Wonderful location downtown in walking distance to so many things.
The hotel was fine, the meeting was good and the food was good. However there was a small kitchen fire and we were evacuated 4 / 30 minutes
Hotel was nice and the location was excellent. Valet service was great.
One of the worst Marriott / SPG properties I ve ever been to. Building is old and worn down. As are the rooms. Checked into my room and discovered wet towels sitting on the floor, and a used bar of soap. Will not be back.
Stayed here twice for the Buffini Success Tour. Once in 2013 and now in 2017 Love the service here.
Hotel is located right off the highway. Great staff and super clean. Just a few min walk from many great Philadelphia sites.
Hotel rate was not bad given the prices of other hotels in the center city area. But I know now why the price was not higher. The rooms are old, the door had the security metal guard removed, room had no number so we had to figure out ours by process of elimination. There is no fridge on the room, the room had two full size (perhaps smaller) beds, one of which my wife said had what looked like crums in between the sheets. The shower/tub is so old or abused that the selector won't go all the way up having water come up from the shower at the same time as the lower faucet. Parking is valet only ($50), and by 8 pm they said it was full. The adjacent room was empty with a TV left on on high volume.
All the things before would have been forgiven had the night manager at the counter and the security manager cared enough to listen to our request for help. These two individuals treated me as if I was asking them to fix the weather outside. They had the nerve to tell me they could not do anything besides knockin on the next door room and see if someone opened. Since nobody opened, their response was they could not hear noise coming out of that room. Only after the 3rd complain with a recording of the noise from the TV, they opened the room not before calling several times over the phone and knockin several times too. In the end they spent more than 10 minutes staring at the TV of an empty room trying to figure out how to shut it down.
Very comfortable room at a fair price. Hotel is extremely well located in city center. Parking, however, is very challenging because of construction.
Marriot bought in August 2018. Lobby is nice but rooms are far from their standard.
From beginning to end this place was terrible. I give them a 2-star rating ONLY because the staff was so friendly. We paid for a pre-paid rate that they didn't run until we got there (despite multiple calls).
I understand they're renovating but our room had only one redeeming quality: the beds were clean and comfortable. The room had a leak, the door room keys constantly needed to be re-keyed. We asked to move and were accommodated by the very sweet staff person. Our new room was a little better: but still had dirty and wrinkled carpets; ice machines on our floor didn't work; no soap, no laundry bag, no shampoo/ conditioner. We eventually got some from the staff.
We went to breakfast. $21.95 p/person was outrageous for the little selection of food offerings on the "buffet".
Then there's the parking: although we found another place to park our car, we were appaled at the whopping $42 p/night parking fee.
We payed $150 p/night for this hotel, however, they should be ashamed to charge more than $100! This hotel is LONG OVERDUE for the renovations it's getting.
Location was close to conference and that s about where the benefits end. You have to pay for WiFi either by the hour or by the day. The halls are dimly lit, more like a scary movie then a good hotel. My room had a wet comforter and the carpet needed to be replaced years ago as it was rolling up everywhere. It has basic amenities but definitely needs to be upgraded. The room was more like a low budget highway motel rather then a Sheraton in downtown Philadelphia.
Comfortable, modern and clean hotel within walking distance of all the major tourist areas. Staff are wonderful and kind.
Had a rowdy drunk group on our floor whom was loud and even knocked on our door multiple times at 3am. Complaints were made by others on the floor as well but no resolution. Then fire alarm goes off. Did not get any sleep all night. Not the fault of the staff or the facilities but our experience that night was unsatisfactory
I first want to start off my review with saying that the hotel was clean, modern, spacious, and all of the staff that I interacted with were nothing but kind and provided excellent service.
Check-In: I arrived at 7pm on a Sunday night after a long day of travelling to be told that there were no King rooms available (this was what I had booked over 2 months in advance). I am cognizant of the fact that there were several large conferences occurring during my stay, but not having a room available that late in the day was very disappointing. The front desk offered to comp dinner at the lobby restaurant, so that gesture was greatly appreciated.
The Gift Shop: My personal debit card information was compromised from the purchase of a snack in the lobby gift shop. My bank was able to stop the fraud, but yet another great inconvenience.
In-Room Wifi: The lobby wifi worked well, but the in room wifi was not strong enough or secure enough to use a work laptop with confidential information/email.
The Gym: Was super impressed with the size of the gym and the variety of equipment available, but all of the treadmills had touch screens circa the original iPhone and would automatically stop every 15 seconds.
The Room: The King room was large and spacious with a nice bathroom, comfortable sheets, and great desk for workspace. Only decaf coffee was provided in the room, but caffeinated coffee can be provided upon request. The bed wasn't the greatest, but was a relatively comfortable stay.
Overall, I don't think that I would choose to stay at this hotel again. The location and surrounding amenities were great, but the inconveniences and experience outweighed the basic cleanliness and standard room.
Clean, comfortable hotel. Friendly staff. Great stay.
Great location - extremely friendly staff - clean rooms with large bathrooms. The hotel lobby was an extremely busy place with travelers from all over so don't be shy and talk to someone before venturing out into the city.
Elevators were overcrowded. Hot water was lacking. Indoor pool was warm, but the room was cold. Overall disappointing.
The room was not clean and had hair clumps in the shower.
The service at the restaurant in the lobby was terrible. We were seated for twenty minutes before being handed a menu, and even then we were only given one for the both of us to share. We did not get the food we ordered, instead a more expensive variation was prranted. We saw our waitress 3 times during the entire dinner and she did not once refill our glasses. Finally it took us several attempts over 40 minutes to flag down our waitress to pay the actual bill.
The staff was very friendly, courteous, helpful and professional.
The hotel room wasn't clean and smelled of smoke. I spoke to MOD, she was very pleasant yet did very little to make me seem it was not the norm. Iron one didn't work iron two didn't work
A bit dated, bathroom extractor fan didn't work and ceiling in bathroom peeling a bit. Otherwise clean and quick and easy check in process. Pool was closed. Was fine for us as only stayed one night.
it is great place in the heart of Philadelphia city
Staff was extremely nice and helpful. Great location as it was walking distance to many restaurants, shops and tourist spots (and I hate to walk but it was easy to walk to these things). The hotel was very clean. I did not have one of the newly updated rooms but it was clean. My husband was at a conference and he said those facilities were very good as well. I would ve liked more info in the room about the menus and hours of on site restaurants. We will stay here again.
Convenient location. Wifi was free and I was able to access it by going online and clicking accept to the terms and conditions.
Good location but at the event the food was not great and the service was not great either. Parking was insanely expensive.
Got a great night sleep... Park across the street though for half the price
We were given a room on the top floor, the club floor. Sounded great, but it was anything but. The club room wasn't kept stocked at all, not even bottles of water. The coffee machine was broken. There must have been a convention because it took us 20 minutes just to get an elevator to go to the gym (on the 3rd floor). While there, there were kids just running around and playing with the workout balls and equipment. We finally got back to the room after another 20 minute wait for the elevator. Trying to leave for a day of sightseeing, we waiting for 1 hour trying to get an elevator. The staff was unapologetic and totally ill equipped to handle convention volume of guests. To top it off, none of our keys worked on the second day, and the front desk didn't even apologize for the inconvenience. I would NOT recommend this hotel.
I didn't love the place, and I truly hope my experience was unique. Staff was nice and attentive, the restaurant/bar was decent enough, food was tasteful and plenty, staff was well trained and pleasant. The breakfast buffet was just barely ok, for the price of 21 per head. Very limited selection. Omelette station was a plus, when/if available.
Now the rooms. At least my room. The aisle on the way there was a little off-putting. Lots of scratches on walls and some doors, paint splatters on the carpet, it looked as if the rooms on that floor were being remodeled. I hope that is the case. The door to my room was very hard to open (more so on the way out), no safe box, some outlets do not work and others are inconvinietly located. Door to the closet had to stay open because it was very hard to close (or open again), some issues with the shower that I find hard to explain considering English is not my first language. The soap, shampoo and rinse are very near the limits of becoming unacceptable.
On the plus side, the bed and pillows were very comfortable, the water pressure was good and hot water was plentiful.
All in all, a disappointing experience, not worth the US 200 per night. Staff was the redeeming quality. I really hope the issues are addressed in the short term, but I would not pick this hotel again unless I was sure of that.
Decent service however fixtures are worn. Random room doors are different colors, room number plates are a mismatch of styles. Staff were good however
It's has an excellent view, staff services are the best I've ever seen
The most awful place I have ever been : the carpets are either stained or have crumbles, the sheets were also stained and the beds are tiny. The place, in general, is not clean at all and the service is really bellow average. Please do not stay there . I will never make another reservation in a Sheraton as it is the second time this happened to us in a Sheraton in the US.
The hotel is quite nice, elegant, and the staff is helpful. My room was very quiet. I cannot give it 5 stars because WiFi is not offered gratis.
The hotel is run down. Needs updating. Carpet in the room was stained and uneven. Had hot water issues. Room and hallways don't smell fresh.
Beautiful beautiful Hotel...WONDERFUL STAFF. EVERYONE WAS GRAND. RECCOMEND TO ALL. YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!!!!
This hotel was exactly what we needed for a weekend stay in Philly.
It's conveniently located, and though the valet parking is consistent with the rest of the city's exorbitant prices, there is a good amount of street parking available within a few blocks.
The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and the ability to choose a checkout time well into the afternoon was prefect!
Room was clean, front desk staff was friendly and helpful when an issue arose with our key not working. Parking garage was pricey, as was their restaurant (breakfast buffet was $19.95/person). The hotel itself was very handy to downtown sites, like the Franklin Institute, Academy of Natural Sciences and a number of other things.
Nightmare. Place desperately needs updating. Waited 20 minutes to check in only to be told they didn t have the room I reserved available. Platinum Starwood member, but after last two Sheraton experiences can t say I ll be back. Ever.
This was my first stay at the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown Hotel and I was very pleased with my experience. When I checked in, the front desk attendent (Sam) greeted me warmly and it was appreciated. I had a long drive in and given there was a conference, there was a long wait. He explained everything to me and I was happy as I left and went to my room. The first room I was given smelled of smoke, and lit my allergies on fire, so I returned to the desk to request a new room, which they were able to accommodate very quickly. I was pleased with the new accommodations and was comfortable. The aestetic of the hotel is a little dated. The hallways set a certain ambiance, and is a bit dim, but doesn't add/take away from your experience. The location of the hotel is basically in Center City, so you are about a 5-8 min walk from the Convention Center or City Hall. For the price, it is a good value for the money. You get good service.
Nice experience over all. The room was decently cleaned and made during the day. The floors were kind of gross though. The staff was very friendly. But the Starbucks was extremely disappointing because it was mostly just an over glorified coffee machine, not an actual Starbucks. But the hotel was great walking distance from the convention center and great local sites.
Dickhead at da counter. Tryed to change da prices after I played already
I wish there was a way to provide 0 stars!!!
At around 3am On June 2nd (hrs ago) I woke up to the sound of my boyfriend telling me he d been bitten and believes there are bed bugs! I immediately jump out of the bed and start inspecting the bedding. To my dismay and surprise I discovered bed bugs crawling around on the pillows and bedding! Absolutely disgusting and unacceptable!
We contacted the front desk clerk (Brandi) to alert her of the situation and were told we can check out however there would be no inspections at that time as she was the only person on duty. I advised her we drove in over an hr and now have to get on the road in the wee hrs of the morning as we cannot stay in this establishment with such horrendous circumstances, what is the recourse??! She again said we can check out. My boyfriend and I packed up our belongings and met with Brandi at the front desk to checkout. We asked for managements information, a refund (as we shouldn t be responsible for charges incurred at an establishment we cannot stay in due to an infestation) and offered video of the scene in the room. Brandi advised us to have photos sent.
We have since sent an email to management and as it currently stands have not yet heard from anyone (10:18a).
My boyfriend and I have stayed at numerous hotels and have never been in a position where we had to cut our trip short due to the negligence of an establishment. This incident has now put us in a position to subject our home and kids to such infestation which is completely unacceptable and furthermore intolerable.
DO NOT STAY THERE!
Event in the Freedom room. Comfortable chairs, water stations were provided. Adequate bathrooms for a 300 person event.
