This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have had. I expect way more from a Sheridan hotel with a cost of over 200 a night. I called ahead because I am allergic to down and they told me they would put a note in my reservation. I arrived at the hotel around midnight and went right to bed to wake up the next morning very sick from allergies. They hadn't taken the feathered pillow and blanket out of the room, and I did not check because I called ahead and was very tired after driving to get there. I woke up the next morning to find the outlet in the bathroom did not work and it resulted in having to straighten my hair in the room without a mirror. When I told the hotel about the feathered experience, visibly very sick, they offered free breakfast. I did not even have an appetite at that point because my throat was hurting me. I called Sheraton customer service and they told me the general manager will contact me. I'm still waiting for this call. I'll be asking that the hotel is removed from my work list of hotels in Philadelphia.
I did not appreciate how the personnel who clean the room did not put acquite supply of towels and toilet tissue on the room. No coffee cups in the room and responded that they did not having any on the cart but not trying to see about getting or saying they would bring some back.
Stayed at a room with the wife's SPG points. Ceiling in the bathroom had chipping paint, and rusted access door. Room also had no security safe, you had to request one from the desk. I have never been to a hotel that didnt have one by default, so this was confusing.
Pool area had the same dust/dirt for the duration of our stay (3 days). Which tells me that no one came to clean the area around the pool, which doesn't give me confidence about the pool itself. The gym is a standard hotel gym, nothing crazy.
Overall, I wish we stayed somewhere else for our time in Philadelphia.
The rooms were old and needed many updates. Barely any lighting, mini fridge in the middle of the room acted as an end table as well. The bed was no longer supported in the middle I did see they are working to update some of the rooms but my visit was not in an updated room. All people who worked there were nice and the lobby was clean and nice. I was only unhappy with the room itself
Price was decent but $100 per deposit on top of the price is ridiculous I ve never payed that in a hotel coming from New York and stayed all over Pennsylvania not worth the money at all I ll take my money somewhere and on top of that no microwave no breakfast and the service was . Meh
The worst experience I have ever had with a hotel. Walls are paper thin. Some highschool kids were partying very loudly across the hall and the entire hallway smelled like pot. We could hear them from within our room, despite them being halfway down the hall. Our coffee maker had stagnating water in the water tank with coffee grounds and hairs floating in it.
The kicker was that our shower had no hot water. I called down to fix, they wanted me troubleshoot but I said please just send a technician - the handle was installed in such a way that it could not get hot. They didn't send a tech up, so as I was leaving, I called again and asked them to send a tech up so we'd have hot water in the morning.
Woke up - freezing cold shower. Called the front desk and explained the situation, she agreed to waive $50 off the hotel price. Fine. I appreciate the gesture.
Well, they didn't honor that and then added another $50 charge to counteract the $50 credit. Incompetence all around, terrible customer service. Nice lobby, though.
My stay here was awesome! They accidentally put me in the wrong room, but they quickly fixed it and gave me a lower rate. The hotel itself is very nice and clean. The bar has awesome food and competitive prices.
We got there to check in and were informed there was no reservation. I showed the gentleman my Groupon, my confirmation email, etc. He said he had to create the reservation manually since it did not transfer to them. We waited for about 15/20 minutes which made us late getting ready for an event not long after check in. While waiting at the front counter, another woman was checking in guests and she seemed to think we were 'staring at her' when really we were looking around waiting to be checked into a room which apparently was not reserved. We actually heard her complain TO HER GUESTS that we were 'staring' and 'like that's so annoying'. Are you kidding me? Maybe consider hiring some professional staff which exhibit some class. The room was decent. The following morning the room service woman was playing music on her phone loudly as it was sitting on her cart at 9am. I had to get up and open the door and ask if she could please turn it down as we were still trying to sleep before traveling home. Unbelievable. Additionally, vallet says $45 on the sign but when you get out of the car they tell you $55. I questioned it and they said, "tax". $10 tax, yeah okay. That's false advertisement. This hotel is cheap and tacky with rude staff; won't last long when so many others in the area are better on those fronts. I recommend the Embassy Suites.
I saw some of the previous reviews and I have to tell you my experience here has been a good one. There wasa a mistake on my bill and it was addressed and fixed right away. Facillities are nice and clean, and all of the employees have been very pleasant. I would stay here again without hesitation.
Paid $260 a night... Phone did not work... Breakfast was terrible, wifi was not free, and remote control battery was dead. When I called to tell them the v remote did not work that asked me "what's wrong with it".
The location is great and the staff is friendly and welcoming. The room was clean but run down. The carpets had stains, the sheets and bed skirts also had stains, as well as the shower curtain. Even though it was clean, it didn't look clean with the stains. Otherwise our stay was nice and the beds are comfortable.
Zero stars: Marriott needs to renovate its rooms and retrain the front desk staff.
1) I was locked in my hotel room and late to a meeting because the deadbolt could not be disengaged inside my room. The front desk line was busy, but eventually I got through and they sent a building engineer to open the door from the outside. 2) There was a fire alarm at 12:10 AM and my floor was told not to evacuate. 3) I was also woken by a construction crew banging around at 7 AM one morning. Each time I called the front desk to complain, the clerks were brusque, did not apologize and questioned my statements. My colleagues were offered free breakfast and drinks when they complained or waited 3 hours for check in; I received nothing but raised voices. 4) The bedroom carpets are dirty and bumpy. 5) The entertainment unit in my room has pieces of wood stuffed under the corners and has exposed pieces of particle board. 6) There is no laundry room for guests.
Great hotel overall, wonderful location. However some higher floors are having continued problem with hot water. Naturally it's extremely frustrating to get into the shower only to learn there are no hot water.... Additionally this hotel has high rate of key failiures.... I keep finding myself going back and forth with front desk to have my key re-programmed.
When we booked this hotel, we didn t think twice, since it s a Sheraton, so you expect it to be pretty decent, but this Sheraton seems like it s been a bit neglected over the years. Besides the really old, buckling carpet, peeling paint, wall panel hanging open, and shower that wouldn t fully switch on to shower mode from the faucet, we found a disturbing amount of HAIR in the room that wasn t ours. Not hiding in inconspicuous places mind you, but I m talking hair all over the toilet, shower, bed, etc. There were also people yelling and partying loudly in the room and hallway all night until we finally called and complained at 2:00am. They did, thankfully, come up and take care of the partiers, but when we told the lady at the desk about the hair and such at check-out, she seemed to not care in the slightest and unapologetically said she would note that in the comments. I also noticed that she didn t ask us how our stay was at check-out, so that says enough in and of itself. We live in Hershey and do overnights for shows and such in Philadelphia a lot, but I think this one is going on our void list.
Stayed here in a Junior Suite for Made In America Concert Festival. Location is EXCELLENT, but the rooms are tiny and aged. Bathroom door wouldn't close completely as it was warped. Didn't choose this spot for the amenities though.
Booked this hotel for two nights. On the second night one of the staff knocked quickly without time for me to respond before she opened the door while I was undressed. A few minutes later we got a call asking us to show proof that we booked two nights. After the inconvenience, they offered us free breakfast and told us to just give them our room number at the buffet line. My husband did so only to be told that she didn t see a note about breakfast before turning him away. We had two pretty embarrassing incidents.
Only positive is it is well located. No hot water so I had to do a sponge bath like I was camping. Old worn out mattress made it hard to sleep. Very sparse furnishing, small room and poor layout. The breakfast is very sparse, just a scaled down starbucks. Staff are nice. We were quoted a great rate but there was another $100 or so in taxes that were not included. The Sheraton near U Penn and the one in the historic district are much better.
Place is very difficult to find no signs that I saw. Was not impressed with the service or the room. Get ready for an expensive parking bill added for the valet and is mandatory.
I stayed at this hotel because I was in Philly for work and it was close by. First, they told me I was upgraded and that I was on the brand new renovated floor. This was awesome until I got to the room and they put me in someone else s room. I had to call the office and ask them if I was in the right room, there were flowers and room service on the way for SOMEONE ELSE. I was told to go back to the lobby after a long day and they would figure it out, I just had surgery on my arm so lugging my bags all the way to the lobby wasn t just an inconvenience but it was painful. They reassigned me a room on the same floor so I quickly unpacked and went to bed. In the middle of the night I felt something crawl on me woke up in a panic but couldn t find anything so back to bed I go. I got up for work the next day walked into the bathroom and there were roaches all over the room. I called immediately they said they didn t have any other rooms but they would work something out when I got back. I was not setting foot in that bathroom so I requested they let me get ready in another room, I didn t want to be in a room with roaches! They told me it was because the floor was recently renovated and that they would move me to another room. I was moved three times and I have never felt more disgusting in my life. They were very apologetic and told me they would come a night but it was paid on my corporate card my company didn t have a terrible experience I did. Then I was told they would give me a complimentary weekend stay at any of their hotels and to leave my address.....I never received anything. I called Marriott and filed a complaint. I received a message saying they refunded my stay. Again this was not acceptable to me, I had roaches several of them that I have pictures of crawling all over the room but mainly in the bathroom. I was hoping with a big name such as Marriott they would make things right but I have never been so disappointed in my life. I am in the service industry and this was in no way making up for my awful experience. If I was given what was promised I wouldn t have wrote this review. I have pictures and video to prove it. Hopefully they fixed the roach situation but I wouldn t recommend this hotel to my worst enemy. I can understand that a newly renovated room might have been a good place for bigs but I would think the hotel would inspect that prior to renting out the rooms. I m not someone who complains but I feel I deserve some type of compensation. I m not sure I can post pics of videos here but I am going to try. Go to a nicer hotel that values customer experience and even if several mistakes are made they do what they say and make it right.
Great staff and restaurants. However, rooms definitely need refreshment. Bathtub is filthy and falling a part. Its not what you expect when you pay 450+ a night.
This hotel sucked. I gave it 2 stars because the room was clean and the overall appearance of the hotel was nice but.....parking was AWFUL!! There is an underground parking lot on the property, but the lot isn't owned by the hotel so anyone, guest or not can park there. Which means it's almost always full!! Not to mention parking was $42 A NIGHT!! Yes....$42!! Once we saw we couldn't park there, we were somewhat rudely instructed to find a parking garage about 6 blocks away around the corner. Once we walked back to the hotel, we were hipped by a concierge that there was a closer, cheaper lot. It took us 2 hours to finally get up to our room. We did not stay a second night. I suggest a room by the airport!!
I have to admit, it's pretty ghetto. But that's because they have awesome rates. So...you get a lot of different characters as guests in this hotel.
I was in town for a Bachelor's party and we didn't stay in the hotel at all. We would be out the door by 11am and did not get back until 3am or so.
However, the time that I was in the hotel, te staff was extremely friendly. The room themselves could be cleaner, but I was more than satisfied for my needs. Beds were made, the room didn't smell bad. But carpets could use a nice deep steam cleaning.
If I had to rate this hotel in general, I'd give it 3.50/5.0 stars. But considering the price we paid, the friendly staff and the convenient location of the hotel, I'll throw in another well deserved star.
Another note: We had adjacent rooms. But no door to go between the rooms =(
This is one of the worst in the Marriott Bonvoy chain I ve ever stayed at. The raised fold in the carpet says it all, dirty rooms, no attention to detail. My room smelled a little like smoke upon entering and there are wet carpet spots. I wouldn t stay here again.
My 2nd day and next morning got even worse. there was no outlet to plug in my coffee machine anywhere near where the machine was placed, there were weird hairs that I found in my bed last night, my room wasn t properly cleaned by your cleaning staff and NOW I just found out the pool is closed all day and the indoor pool is one of the primary reason I chose this hotel in the first place. This is honestly ridiculous
The $21 breakfast is awful, the eggs are not fresh, they re made from processed powder and the potatoes were super dry.
Further more on my final morning my faucet stopped working in the middle of brushing my teeth.
Staff was extremely helpful even with the large number of guests attending the conference. I did not stay at the hotel as it was already booked and I am speaking only on the conference room related service.
The location was convenient and the staff were friendly but the bed was uncomfortable and the bathroom had split wallpaper and some sort of opening in the walll... one of the doors had paint peeling on it... just not what I expected from a Sheraton. Ate dinner there the other night... waitress was nice. I got the burger which didn't sit well and my friend got the fish tacos which I could smell a bad fishy smell from across the table.
Nice place. There currently is construction going on so theirs a limitation to exits to the streets. Also only one set of elevators in the garage for a fairly large parking garage. They have a restaurant and large rooms for big venues.
No smile upon greeting. Gave us the wrong room (reserved a king and got a small, double twin). Stains on the head of the white quilt. Parking fee is outrageous at $42/day.
We had an incredible experience at this hotel. Even though we arrived extremely early, our room was ready on the 24th floor with an outstanding view. We cannot choose one staff member over another because everyone was friendly an courteous. This hotel is located within walking distance of many attractions. The Starbucks cafe is a plus!
A nice modern hotel with all the expected services and amenities. The age of the building has resulted in normal and expected wear on bathrooms, hallways and rooms, though. Great views from upper rooms.
BED BUGS, dingy rooms, expensive parking, refrigerators & microwaves are not standard u have to pay extra for those, Bed Bugs. U literally pay for the name & location o & did I mention I got bit by bed bugs.
Nice hotel with a great location, right behind the Basilica of Peter and Paul. Expensive Breakfast Buffet, $21,95. Large gym with good selection of machines, free weight dumbells, and pool. Nice rooms with sumptuous bedding. Avoid rooms ending in 05 as the noisy Ice Machine is located across the hall. Great views of the Basilica and the park, rooms on the West Side. No minibar in my room, don't know if they're all like that. For location, the view, and amenities I do recommend the hotel. WiFi is free in the Lobby and it depends on your level for in room. They have a Club on the 26floor that offers complementary wine, beer, and various food during Happy Hour.
Just stopped for a quick overnight stay at the hotel. Check in around midnight, check out at four. Room was clean, nothing to complain about, except for maybe the lack of basic hd channels for the tv. I imagine it can't be that expensive to have better quality channels than just standard definition.
Very nice rooms. I did a photoshoot down there and decided to stay a few days later. very comfortable beds. I really enjoyed my stay here. The staff were friendly and on point.
Unfortunately our stay has not gone well. Actually, aside from Mary the Concierge, nothing has gone well. Check in didn't go well, housekeeping has been rough, we didn't have hot water when we arrived, and the shower would not turn on the next morning. To top things off, a boy sneezed all over the tongs for bacon/sausage at the buffet and I had a tough time getting the people servicing the buffet to understand that I and everyone else needed the utensils changed out. I hope my experience is an isolated one.
The location is pretty great, but plan to pay a lot for parking. Our room didn't have a refrigerator nor did our floor have an ice machine. My friend could barely work from the room because the WiFi speed was so slow. We were about a 10 or 15 min walk from downtown bars [which was great]. The visit was okay until we discovered a cockroach on the wall of our room just before we checked out. Now I fear one may have crawled into my bag as well. I called my phone to find it while I was staying there and was charged a $1.50 phone fee. I definitely will not be coming back.
Very nice room, beds are pretty comfortable. No fridge in the room but there's an ice machine and a soda vending machine in the hallway. Two restaurants in the main lobby. Close to the famous "Rocky" statue and stairs, less than 5 min driving. Staff is friendly and helpful.
Nice place with good location .Rooms were well maintained and the infrastructure was superb. I was amazed with the way they work and handle their customer. The food was delicious and well presented . Overall nice experience with hotel.
