Had never been to Philly before but they were very helpful at the desk and made our time there mire enjoyable.

Customer service was great. But the room was way too pricey to not even include a fridge, microwave, or basic cable ($20 movies only) On top of that parking for there own guests costs $35....
Locale is great. Not too far from any good places to eat. Rooms are nice and the bedding is super soft. Service is also really good.
This hotel is very good comparing many hotel in New York. The price was reasonable, the interior was well-maintained. Room service very friendly. Highly recommend.
Very "just fair" hotel. The front desk agents, while very helpful and kind, we're perpetually busy with a line of waiting customers. There clearly about 3 agents too few for a hotel with 25 floors of rooms. The hotel was ok shape, considering the area, but the rooms were obviously dated, a bit smelly, and as clean as possible.
Aside from our room not having a mini fridge or microwave, our room wasn't fully cleaned. They reused the bedsheets from the previous guest, and the sheets had bloodstains on them. Things that would be free at other hotels, they charged for. I was told breakfast came with our room. that wasn't the case when we arrived there.
Never stayed here ive just gone to the Henry David Halloween ball a few times it was ok for the ball not sure i would stay just because of all the bad reviews
Great location, however, the walls are paper thin. You can hear every word of the people in the next room. Room is a bit dated too.
Nice view of the St Basilica and near Starbucks, convention center, reading terminal market and others. Lovely location in Downtown phily. V safe.
We didn't end up staying there due to a double booking issue, but they instead refunded our money and payed for us to stay at another nearby hotel that is also quite nice. I hope to have an excuse to actually stay there in the future!
The room was nice. There was an issue with our booking that was caused by a mistake on the part of the hotel. The gentleman at the check-in desk was incredibly unhelpful. After the issue was identified, he didn't take any initiative to resolve the problem and instead tried to get us to accept a solution which would have double charged us and given us rooms that we did not book. (We booked a king and two doubles. They wanted to give us both two doubles.) He was very unprofessional, and we had to involve a manager to resolve the issue. A simple mistake on the part of the hotel cost us a solid hour of frustration and argument to get a resolution. I will not be starting here again.
Easy access to center city offices, shops and suburban train station.
Soild hotel. Elevators at rush hour can be a problem but that's not all that different elsewhere
Great Lyft and Uber pick up place minus the cobblestones.
Walkable to all the major sites in Philly and transportation. Rooms were large and what we expected. Check in was quick.
Dirty room when we arrived, sheets not clean, housekeeping hanging out chatting in hallways never cleaned our room by 2 PM est, called front desk said they'd reach out to Manager but nothing they could do to help me. Will never stay here again nor would recommend for anyone.
There was a lovely wide open entrance hall and the staff were friendly and accommodating. I came here to meet friends before going out. Pricing at the bar is reasonable too
Shout out to Mary Mastrobuoni, Concierge. My wife is away at a conference in this hotel and it's her birthday, so I called the hotel and Mary helped me surprise her with a bottle of champagne and a cheese plate. It was easy and personal -- which often isn't the case with big hotels.
This hotel has serious housekeeping issues.
At least the hotel reception personnel was as shocked as I was and did everything they could to help.
The people are nice and professional. Thank you to our room attendant Tracy! The hotel needs renovations and additional cleaning for the high ceiling in the lobby...the vents are really dusty. The carpets are filthy, a vacuum cannot fix that. The furniture is over 10 years old. Though the lobby furniture is older it is really comfortable and cozy so keep the style just get something new. And why do you charge your patrons soooooo much to park! Give us a break we are already contributing to your bottom line. Oh yeah to the older gentleman checking luggage you are the Best!
Our room was awesome with a great view. Room was clean. Everything was great except we only got 1 bath towel (and I didn't realize it until I was getting out of the shower and my husband had already used the towel). So I had to dry off with a clean hand towel because it was too late to ask the desk to bring us more towels. And the water in the shower barely got warmer than Luke warm. This made for a quick shower because I prefer very warm nearing hot showers. Otherwise would recommend this hotel to everyone.
Carpet was a bit old but the room was very spacious.
No fridge in the room, no parking, and the pool was disgusting hair all over it and filthy. Would not recommend, only good thing the room was nice.
The room is spacious. Hairs stuck to ceiling in the bathroom. As a Starwood Preferred Guest, all you get is one free bottle of water per day. No free breakfast, no free Wi-Fi. Parking is $20 per day. The Sheraton reservation person put us at the wrong Sheraton. I didn't find out until the morning we were leaving. They were able to switch us to the correct hotel, but not only was the rate $25 more per night, we had to pay for all 3 rooms ahead of time. They claimed it was because they were sold out. When we got there, we found out they were only 80 % booked. No refrigerator included. Microwave is in the lobby somewhere.
Cool views. Decent location. And cheapest parking across the street for downtown Philadelphia
Room was nice but we reserved 2 king sized bed rooms and both rooms had 2 dbl beds instead of 1 king ... no refrigerator nor microwave or coffee maker ...
Elegant, excellent service from all staff members, great location, available parking, drop off/pick off covered area, delicious food, affordable prices. Reservations, check in and check out work very well. Gain points with membership.
Be forgiving. They are undergoing a double whammy: brand change and renovations. The rooms are clean the staff is friendly and the fish tacos make a great dinner.
Nice , they remodeled the room , much much better from last year
In Philadelphia I was born and grew up with chewing gum and happy basquetera
WORST HOTEL EVER & THE NEED NEW CLEANING STAFF ALONG WITH NEW MANAGEMENT TEAM DO NOT STAY HERE EVER
Awesome place to stay, staff very friendly and the place is so clean, rooms are perfect too.
The hotel is a bit expensive but considering it is in the center of the city I guess it is a normal rate. On the website it says that breakfast is included, which is not the case. The hotel looks well presented on the outside and in the lobby but when going up to the other floors you notice the deterioration in the corridors. The room was nice, clean, and with everything you need. The gym and the pool is accessible but in the last hours there were children in pajamas running everywhere. The customer service is very good. For me the best thing was the buffet restaurant. The attention is very good and the food too.
View, and service was excellent. Parking was tough. Overall great experience, would stay again.
The location is wonderful, and the lobby looks impressive. I was only in the room from 11:00 pm until 7:00 a.m., but had no complaints about room cleanliness or decor.
Unfortunately, hot water is non -existent in the morning, and management claims to have never heard this before. Hotels don t have individual water heaters for every room, so they had to get other complaints.
I only came to see if others had same experience and found a few more reviews with same complaint. I cannot recommend and will not go back. An acknowledgement and apology would have sufficed instead of playing dumb.
During my stay, I was placed on the 26th floor which had a sign stating the floor was for airline personnel only. When I discussed this with the front desk, they informed me that it was fine and I should proceed to my room on the 26th floor. My room would also periodically smell like cigarette smoke throughout my stay, even though there were "No Smoking" signs everywhere. In addition, it would have been helpful if Marriott mentioned that this was the Philadelphia 201 Hotel (re-branded as the Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown) prior to my visit. On the Marriott site, it looks like a new hotel, which seemed misleading.
The AC/heat control wasn't functional in the room. It's also clear that the cleaning staff doesn't move furniture when servicing rooms as there was trash from previous occupants sitting under the armchair.
I can for a few days to visit the city with my husband and our baby. The staff at the Sheraton couldn't have been nicer or more accomodating, particularly Tasha at the front desk and Sarah (I believe with dining services ). Our room was clean and well furnished. My only complaint is that you have to pay for internet in the rooms. I haven't been to a hotel in a while where that was the case, which was disappointing. Regardless, we will definitely stay here again.
My British colleague made jokes about how the place was more tired than he was while recovering from jet lag. That makes it sound a little worse than reality, but I have stayed better places.
They are currently under going construction after the name change. Hopefully rooms will get updated. The room I was in carpet needs updating, toilet seat was broken and faucet handle was put on the wrong way.
Terrible hotel experience. Room was very worn out, no hot water both mornings
I was visiting the Sheraton in Philadelphia for a chess tournament. This was my second tournament at this hotel and I have to say the staff and accomodations were just fine. Typical amenities were frequently replenished and the concierge was helpful in choosing a place to eat.
The Sheraton Philadelphia Downtown hotel provides excellent service, the view of the city is impressive from the rooms, it is a good place to rest and contemplate the sunset with a view of a city with a lot of history.
After reading some of the negative reviews about this hotel, I went ahead and decided to give them a try and don't regret it. They provide excellent customer service and fast check in / check out. Lovely views from upper floors. They have a nice gift shop / snack shop. The hotel is going through renovation. If I plan another stay in Philadelphia, I will book a room here without a doubt. The only downside is no free parking for guests($40 for overnight, but valet are super friendly) and no wifi.
Bar was sub-par but the room was clean and they made the check in process very easy. The room was very clean and comfortable
It was a very busy hotel. The beds were very comfortable. Great location with quick access to 95.
The hotel was cool. Didn't have any air at first but they put us in another room were we slept comfortable.
Very nice views on Philadelphia. Clean environment. Well located. Parking is expensive.
First when we got there and the room was not ready we had to wait nearly 2 hours to get our room. During our wait I checked with the front desk and they told me they didn't have anyone even working on cleaning a room with a king size bed and they would see if they could get a house cleaner started on one (keep in mind I had already waited an hour and half at this point). On top of that they don't tell you that they charge you for parking in their parking garage. That is another $42 dollars a night. Then the rooms were not anything special and had no extra features. Not even an exhaust fan in the bathroom.
Very clean rooms, conveniently located at downtown Philadelphia, friendly staff and a big parking lot. You get a lot for your money!
No hot water. Good location. There was a fly in my room.
Room smelled moldy and the walls were paper thin. Hallways were poorly lit, and on an overcast day that's just depressing. Wi-fi is 14.95 a day for non-SPG members.
The rooms don't have mini fridges, that was disappointing. The garage elevator smells atrocious and made many in my party "seasick" after taking it up or down. Other than that, the food is amazing and the beds are wonderful-sink into the pillows and get swallowed up by the comforter! Loved that!!!
Sort of out of date and rundown looking. No refrigerator or microwave in the rooms, only 2 ice machines for a 20 something story hotel. Definitely should be nobody's 4star anything.
Good location and service. Rooms were of lower quality
Maybe it's because they're in the middle of renovating the place, but how that prevents them from putting fresh sheets on the bed is beyond me. The internet was absolutely miserable too. Don't stay here if you plan on doing any work remotely from your hotel room on your laptop.
Room had several issues. Spoke to someone at the desk and only 2 of the 4 were fixed. Carpet throughout smelled moldy but (tried) to cover with cleaner. Iron didn't work properly, no steam. Hotel decor needs a complete make over.
DO NOT STAY HERE!
April 3, 2018
Nightmare from the second we pulled up to the hotel lobby. First, this hotel had NO parking available. The garage was full as well as the parking lot across the street, both of which charged extra.
After booking my room over a month in advance and driving 10 hours to reach the hotel, we arrived at 10:30 pm to a line at the check in desk of easily over 100 people! We were told they hotel had an issue with the room key maker but it was all set and thats why they were backed up.
I waited almost two hours in line to finally reach the desk to be told the room they were giving me had one king bed instead of two double beds, which the confirmation in my hand from my booking said two double beds. The room was for myself, my 15 year old daughter and my 65 year old mother. One bed for the three of us!!! To add, they also were out of cots and couldn't even offer us that.
At this point, I told the man helping me that this was unacceptable and he went and found his manager. Mind you, its now after midnight and the line behind me is at least 100 people deep to check in.
The mangaer came and apologized that they had over booked and had no more double bed rooms and offered to send us to another hotel, 12:30 am across town that may have had a room with two double beds at which point I asked how much it would be. She told me and EXTRA $35-40 a night! She did reassure me she would not charge me for a cancelation fee at this hotel, though. Unreal.
Fortunately, the gentlemen and his girlfriend trying to check in next to me also had his room reservation messed up. He had reserved a king bed and had two double, so kindly, he offered to switch rooms with me. Great, I thought. The manager switched our rooms and my mother, daughter and I were heading to our room with two double beds!
Wait, not so fast, the wait at the elevator ended up being another 20 minutes! Finally, we get to our hotel room to open the door to a huge red stain on the carpet, carpet being pulled up all around the room and two other huge red stains the size of beach balls. The bedskirts were stained and the bathroom had not been cleaned. Back down to the lobby I go.
Since it was now approaching 1 am, the option to leave (which we drove down in a van with two other families who's rooms were also wrong) was not a possibility, the hotel offered to give us one night free and free breakfast.
Bottom line, the hotel was absolutely disgusting, poorly run and an absolute nightmare from the second we arrived. This hotel was anything but hassle-free and a huge waste of money. I will NEVER stay here again. Beware!!!
The hotel was fine. Was disappointed the room didn't have a mini fridge
Located to many historical sites we visited within walking distance. Rooms are very nice. Service was great.
I wouldn't stay here again. It took almost 20 minutes to get a room service menu and some waters delivered to the room. After deciding what I wanted, I ended up leaving to get food since it was going to be an hour wait.
When I was preparing for a shower, I realized there weren't any wash cloths and there were at least 3 strands of long brown hair that I know wasn't mine in the sink.
Hello I was there for 5 days This Hotel is Every Thing Thxing Mary n the Breakfast staff for a Awesome Stay. This is place to go if your in Philly . People who work here are Awesome.
I'm Love this Hotel. My Aunt pass the way the resaon we stay. They show me so much Love. Big UPS Philadelphia 201
Just on the outskirts of downtown....a good choice when Market Street hotels are sold out or over priced.
Elevators not working or below. Hall rugs not vacuumed over 2 days. Dirty linens in hall for over 24 hours. Escalator not working for over 6 months. This place is dirty, beat and in dire need of an overhaul. There for conference, alarms went off for over 25 minutes. Awful...
Service was awesome. Staff were very helpful and extremely friendly. Will definitely go again.
Rooms were clean for the most part. Chair was dirty and needed a serious cleaning. Painless check in and out. Parking deck was overpriced.
Not the best Sheraton, small pool but good location.
