Have had a membership at this zoo for a few years. We also had a membership at the phoenix zoo at one time. In comparison both zoos are nice but the world wild life zoo is so much bigger and you get closer to the animals. THEY HAVE BABY DEER IN THE PETTING ZOO! So much to do and see here!

Aquarium was surprisingly nice and the zoo had a pretty good variety of animals, however, do not take the Log Flume or Train rides. They are short and not worth the money. The Train ride conductor said very little, accepted no questions and sped through the course. He was also arrogant and insulting when asked about the short trip.

We did find the tram at the back of the zoo worth the money.

Visited zoo on 12/26/2014

Very nice place. A lot of the animals are rescued (I think 90% of the birds?). Every animal looked happy and healthy. Be prepared, this place is HUGE. Wear comfy shoes and be ready to spend a whole day here.

This place is huge. I got an annual pass and have been 3 times and still have not seen / done all this conservation has to offer! I love how close you can get to the animals and the rides are fun. There is a log flume for those especially hot days. The animals are all very well cared for here and safe.

Cool zoo and entertaining for a full day. Brought my 7 yr old nephew and he thought it was awesome, including the roller coaster. Only complaint is having to pay high prices for rides and food. It would be great if they offered a package deal for 2 rides and food with admission. Plus once you are in the park everything is CASH only so bring some money. This place is worthy of repeat visits, so much to see and do, plus ability to feed the animals for 50 cents.

We visited recently, and the staff at the Congo cafe are incrediblely rude. I asked for ice(yes poor planning on my part, the ice packs melted faster than expected) to keep my daughters medication cold. The cost was $2 or $4 depending on the size of the cup. I asked if they could just dump it in the lunch box I had and was told No. So we pay $2 for a cup of ice. My daughter takes it back because I clearly dump the ice in the lunch box, and asks if they can put water in it. They said No, only allowed refills of ice. I could understand no refills on soda, but come on. After this experience we go to the petting zoo, where the kid is also rude. We decide to just leave after 15-20 minutes there. I am upset that everyone seemed to hate their job here, I decide to walk up to another employee to ask where I can complain. It was a man and woman. She said she was in charge of the petting zoo, and the guy said he will be in a white truck driving around, to let him know if we need more ice for medicine and he will get it.

They are the only reason I am giving this review a 4stars. I wish I would of caught their names so they can be properly acknowledged.

Loved this place! Plenty of things to do while in the zoo, the rides are fun for the whole family, there is a small zip line, a water log ride, a sky ride to see the zoo from above, a train that takes you through the pradera where the animals are free, an aquarium and petting zoo with lamas, goats, deers and other small animals. There are many food dispensers throughout the zoo if you want to feed the animals, you can even feed the giraffes, so make sure you bring quarters. It is an old zoo, the aquarium and the facilities in general can use some updating, but compared to other zoos, this one is cheap, you can actually see the animals and offers more options to have a good time.

Animals look absolutely depressed and some need more attention and care. Even some bird were plucking out there own feathers because the were stressed. I didn't see really any zoo keepers out check on animals when I was there on a week day around noon to 3 probably because it was so damn hot. Imagine how them poor animals feel! Just pissed me off tbh

I have been familiar with this zoo for...30 years. They truly care about the animals, and about educating people about them.

It is pricey--people compare it to the Phoenix zoo but you have to understand that the Phoenix zoo and most city zoos are subsidized by taxpayers. Wildlife World Zoo is not. Secondly, a portion of the admission fees go towards the various conservation and endangered animals programs, including participation in the Species Survival Plans proagram that breeds and exchanges endangered animals with zoos around the world to build the species' back up.

I was chatting with some staff and management when I was last there because of an incident with a school group with kids antagonizing a jaguar from inside the barrier that they had crossed, and the amount of deep personal concern for the kids and the animals was both surprising (there were tears) and gratifying. They really care.

A membership is worth it if you live near enough, because you will need to go at least twice just to see everything unless you plan to run through the whole place. I was there for 5 hours with my 6 year old and we didnt get to the safari area, the petting zoo, or the aquariums. (Incidentally, I have discovered that about 5 hours is the limit for 6 year olds at the zoo. :) We narrowly avoided implosion)

So, no elephants, and no "big" apes or gorillas. Lots of primates, some with babies, some endangered. Some of the birds will say hello if you do.

Right now there are baby warthogs, baby jackals, and million baby ducks, and a little flock of baby black swans over by the kangaroos.

I almost forgot the Lorry parrots! You go in the big cage, armed with apple pieces, and the most beautiful, adorable little birds land on you and eat the apples from your hands. The staff get everyone out in time to miss the inevitable result of a flock of birds all eating apples at once ;)

It really is a special place.

I recommend going right at 9 am, they animals are actively awaiting their morning feedings, and it gets hot really fast in Arizona, so some will go into their shaded enclosures or start napping in the sun.

to spend with family. It is beautiful. the cost is good. you can't charge less. there are a lot of animals that have to be fed and cared for. My children enjoyed the boats although I should have done the train. larger. spend x the entire zoo. I would love that..

This is a wonderful zoo I think I'll be a regular it's fun and lots of animals and rides . Also the staff are very professional and super friendly. If I could give them 10 stars I would . Money well spent .

Great day out with our toddler. Most rides are closed, but we enjoyed a calm day without crowds.

Staff was friendly and professional and facilities were clean and adequate.

Overall, I was nicely surprised. We'll be back

Great people work there, they really cared about what we needed, the animals all looked well taken care of, though there are so many people that were pigs throwing their garbage everywhere like in the moats. We enjoyed talking with the employees, getting more details on all the animals.

Love this zoo. They are doing so much more to it. Not a small little zoo anymore. I wish it was not so expensive. Or it included more in the admission. All the animals look happy and healthy. We always enjoy our visits.

It was a huge disappointment for my 3 year olds birthday trip down to phx. It's way overpriced! It's dirty as hell there. The enclosures are disgusting and smell horrible! The layout is ridiculous and all you see is birds, there were so many birds that it just got boring to walk around. None of the rides were up and running. Not that I wanted to spend any extra money on a crappy ride for my children. I wish we would have never gone. The phx zoo is much better. We will never go back there!

Well, it is pretty big and there are many animals to see. but they charge about $40 to get in plus extras for many of attractions inside which can become expansive very quickly. I also did not like the fact they they are cash only. not to mention that some of the indoor facilities smell really bad and do not seem to be maintained properly. overall I was pretty dissapointed with our visit.

I come here yearly with my class as a field trip. It is a nice, small zoo with many bird and primate exhibits. If you are looking for larger, active mammals, this is not the place for you. Although the zoo does have the larger animal exhibits, they just didn't stand out to me. The aquarium, again, is fine. Nothing about it wowed me.

I loved the interactive parts in the aquarium, feeding the giraffes and the petting zoo. It's a fun addition for visitors of all ages.

There is a small playground for kids and activities that you could pay for, like the sky ride or the train. The activities you have to pay for are no more than $6. (All prices are listed on their website)

Over all, it's a small zoo, easy to navigate, nothing too impressive (including the food and gift shop), employees were helpful, baby friendly, wheelchair accessible but not worth the full admission price.

I have mixed feelings about this zoo.

I have mixed feelings about this zoo.

Pros: close to home, small enough to walk around all day but large enough to make a day of it, animals are pretty close up, lory bird feeding (highlight of every visit), aquarium

Cons: expensive, dirty, a little sad for the animals because of small enclosures for some

Great facility, loved the exhibits, the air tram was so relaxing, good accessibility and well maintained facilities. Only negative, no drinking fountains. And bottled H20 is crazy expensive.

First visit. Would return in a heart beat. Kids loved it. Huge, full of variety. Pet, feed stingrays. Feed giraffes. Feed birds. Leppard was 2 feet away. This place is as close as you will ever safely get to animals.

You've got several choices for zoo's in Phoenix. They are all good. World wildlife Zoo may be the best. We spent 4 hours on a beautiful day and only got through about a third. Highlights we're the awuatic area, and the kids thought feeding the giraffe was a blast.

Not as big as Phoenix Zoo, but still just as fun lots of animals to see, the animals look well taken care of , I didn't finish seeing the whole zoo I have a 3 yr old. He got tired after 4 hrs of walking around. The overall cleanliness of the snack bars restaurants and rest rooms could merit more attention 3 out of 5 and I wish the world zoo would have push carts for the toddlers 2-4 yrs old I'm sure and more guest visit and expansion of the zoo more stuff will come along the way and upgrades to the park as well.

This place is much bigger than I had anticipated, which means that there is also lots to see. It's a beautiful place with lots of shaded areas. There's a playground with interactive areas to pet deer, goats, and turtles, as well as a ray petting area in one of the aquarium exhibits. However, I felt that some of my time was wasted seeing the same animals (birds) multiple times. This is one of the best zoo's I have been too but I feel salty after my experience at the Safari Grill.
As I approached the Safari Grill, I noticed hand prints all over the door from not being cleaned. When I walked in, I was welcomed, but everyone in there was hanging out talking. Okay, cool. I soon found out that they didn't accept cash so I used the ATM so i could pay $24.00 for a burger, 3 tenders, fries and a drink. Ouch. Not only that, drinks are NOT refillable! At this day and age, seriously, what place doesn't do refills on fountain drinks? I was also turned off by a dirty condiment station and nasty tables, yet again, with dirty hand prints all over them; obviously, cleaning is not their strong suit. I manage food at an entertainment venue and must say that - and nothing personal to those workers - I would clean house for this quality of presentation. Personally, I got the burger. It was almost flavorless, but I was more so irked that the meat and cheese was cold. I was confused and wondered if it was even cooked or cooked and refrigerated for a lengthy period of time. But I know I came to the zoo to see animals, not to eat at the zoo, but it was still part of the experience. Even still, if they are going to charge these insane prices and deliver abysmal quality product and service, there surely needs to be a justification for it. I work at an expensive venue too where people complain about the high prices, but this was on another level.
Again, the zoo portion of it was awesome and I would definitely recommend this place to everyone, but I'll bring my own food next time.

Horrible parking, one window to help everyone, and everything in the park is cash only....which they don't tell you at the front. Hi, we live in a world where everyone uses a credit card but lets only do cash. Thanks.

It's an okay zoo. The entry fee just gets you through the gate and you have to pay extra for anything else ie. Train, boat and other rides. Most of the animals are birds and monkeys in small enclosures.
