First time to this zoo. Spent about 6 hours here with a family of 5. I recommend walking shoes, maybe older ones because its dirt and dusty for walking. They have LOTS of animals to see. We didn't do any shows but I'm sure if we would of planned better we could have made it work. Please take CASH. It looks like their restaurants and snack bars are cash only but some of their rides do take credit card. They have very informative train and tram rides. There was a roller coaster, flying scooter, zip line, among other rides as well. Most of the rides are $6 but the zip line was $15. My family had a blast. My only dislike was the food prices. Its your typical $15-$20 per person for a burger, fries, and drink at amusement park prices. My family actually left the park for 45 minutes and went to McDonald's and came back. We will definitely be back. My family had so much fun and my 4 year old rode his first roller coaster. Last thing, I suggest Groupon to buy your tickets. For a family of 5, I saved $39 off regular price.

Surprised at how large the wild animal park is. Took grandkids there. They were able to get really close to the lyons, tigers. Make sure you bring enough cash as each ride cost about $5 bucks each.
Oh,make sure you go to Groupons to get your discount tickets.

Fantastic!

Fantastic!
Brought my wife here for her birthday.
Love the variety of animals and the staff was great. I especially loved feeding the stingrays.

This was the first time I have been here in many years, and the first since I have had kids. We were really excited to go, and what was there was really cool. The rides were pretty cool, but it was a little expensive. They run about 6 bucks a piece on top of the 40 dollars it costs to get in. It would be nice if they had a pass or something you could buy at the gate. I still would have given five stars, but several exhibits were closed, and there was no advance notice or discount. The kids were really excited to see the Sea Lion show and the kangaroos. We were excited to take the kids on the boat ride. All of those were closed. Otherwise, this was a really cool zoo. I would recommend it, but maybe call ahead and make sure the things you want to see are open.

I m extremely grateful to The Wildlife Word Zoo for the decisions made regarding the incident of the lady who trasspased the protection barrier in order to get a selfie with a jaguar. Awesome!

We usually love this zoo. They have a large variety of animals and the enclosures are always clean. I gave it four stars because the lady that checked us in for our group was extremely rude.

Way better then Ody Sea Aquarium you actually get a better experience here then any other zoo ive been too. the animals are up and close and your not far away from them. Nice zoo with lots of activities and rides.

I love coming here with my family! It is a very nice place. I love the aquarium its full of very beautiful creatures. The last time we came, we got to hold an ostrich egg! My son loved the experience. He also loved the big cats that were roaming in their enclosures. We most definitely will come back again when the time is right.

Well cared for animals, very clean, well maintained park. The animal petting area is large and near the children play ground. They have a number of thrilling rides, best was the zip line! Wear comfortable shoes! They have stroller and wheelchair rentals. Be sure to visit inside aquariums, with sealife tunnel, cool.
Cons, they need the sky ride and the train ride to be redesigned to transport guest to the back or all around the park to bring you back to one of the entrances. Bring cash for the rides and quarters for animal feed, cards not accepted.

The price of admission is high especially after driving halfway to Palm Springs to get there. (Not really but it is in the FAR west valley.) That being said, there are a lot of animals to check out.

Wonderful zoo with many well cared for animals! Don t let the view from the 303 deceive you when you drive by! We drove by several times and made the comment that it didn t look like anyone was there. One day we drove over to visit. We were pleasantly surprised!! It was full of various animals from around the world, with many visitors, and various buildings to go through, in addition to the outdoor areas!! We spent the entire day there and walked 4 miles!! We were exhausted from walking, but we didn t want to miss anything! They have free animal shows, including the outdoor performing seals. There are indoor aquarium buildings. There are rides throughout the zoo, some free, some for a fee. There are eating places located throughout the zoo. The only large animal we noticed missing were elephants. This zoo is a must see!! We will be back!

Expensive. Hard to see animals. Staff is invisible. People that run rides hav no idea what there doing. Rides and restaurant is way way way in the back. Not enough water fountains throughout park.

It really is upsetting that they won't let you in with coolers, especially in this 100+weather! How are you supposed to get through the entire zoo with a couple water bottles on hand when they're warm/hot by the time you want to take a sip and refresh! Not everyone is up for buying the water bottles inside for $2+! Very disappointing! By the way, to the reviewer who said that you're allowed to bring on your own food and drinks, that's false! It even says so on their web site, you must've smuggled it in, cause that's another reason why we immediately left. Very disappointing and it needs to change.

I was kind of disappointed with the park. It seemed run down and really expensive for the animals you see. The highlight is the ability to feed the giraffes and the touch tank at the aquarium.

Always a great place to visit on the west side of Phoenix; the restaurant has great aquariums, one view of their albino alligator inside the bar area, and flamingo viewing from the patio.
Their gift shop & ticketing area has additional aquariums as well as a view of the monkey exhibit.
Once inside, there are plenty of attractions and exhibits to enjoy with a young family, and the rides are accessible at a reasonable cost.
What prevents a 5-star rating is that the exhibits haven't been remodeled or updated to optimize the viewing of animals, and they haven't added new exhibits within the past 2-3 years, at least none that I'm aware of.
But, if you've never been and are looking for a new, fun place to take your children, this park is well worth a visit when near this more distant part of the valley.

We heard so many good things about this zoo but we were a bit disappointed. This is probably not the right time to get there. Many playgrounds were closed, the restaurants were closed. You have to think before you get there that the route is almost without shade so it's very hot. We did not see much of the animals probably because it was too hot, it was nice to feed the giraffes. The kids enjoyed there.

Love it

Most of the animals were up and about despite the 90+ degree day. You could tell that they had regular zookeeper interaction throughout the day which kept them more visible and interested in the visitors. There's a King Vulture there that was really quite the ham. Loved him/her. Also the little armadillo in the wildlife show was a hoot! I took the Tram tour and highly recommend that. The driver was very friendly, informative, and shared his experiences with the critters on his tour. He obviously cares very much for each of them. Take the Tram! Plan on spending the whole day, there's LOTS to see. And visit Dillon's BBQ, delicious food, great shark tank view.

Not a bad zoo but the vehicles driving around the same places you are walking gets annoying when you have kids and have to watch for vehicles the whole time. Get some drinking fountains worth using and some filters or have the cafe's fill water bottles for yearly members or something. Aside from the admission there is really no perks to being a member.

Really great zoo, super expensive though! We have a membership for our family of 6 to the Phoenix Zoo for a little over $300 a year. It would be $750 for a membership here. Too bad, this is an awesome zoo. I wish this was something we could do often with our family!

Would ve reconsider coming back again but the rides are extra $ and it s cash only it was basically $100 dollars to get in for four people and that s was with a coupon. Also if your planning on buying food there well guess what it s cash only. My last thing that I will be ranting about is that most of the animals look in a way lonely. On top of that all of the new born babies were in a different exhibit far away from there parents. Overall it was a great experience.Theres a playground, petting zoo, and various types of animals.

Loved going to this zoo, it was an all day experience if you want to look at everything. We started at 11am and left at 5:30pm. Almost all the animals were out and about, which was great. Because of the weather it is muddy, but didn't affect anything. On a Sunday it wasn't very crowded, which was great, was able to take the pictures I wanted and do things without being rushed, or feeling overcrowded. Great experience, animals were beautiful.

The place has upgraded in a big way, and the habitats are much better for the animals. The biggest down side is the price gouging. Not only is admission steep, but the rides (coaster, train, etc.) each zap another $6 a ride. A family of four could drop $200 without even going on every ride. That just isn't right.

Great place to visit. However, pack your own lunch. The snack shops are stupidly expensive. If you are an adult with no small children, dont think you can avoid herds of screaming children by going on a week day. We went midweek and many schools were there on field trips. Instead of groups of monitored, well behaved children there seemed to be a lot of free range teaching going on.

Favorite zoo and aquariam in Arizona! There are many sections to the zoo wher e similar animals are clustered (ie.dragon world) so it's easy to navigate. There is a huge variety of species, all happy and healthy. Feeing Giraffes as turtles is possible as well as the animals in the petting zoo. The Zoo lights event is a delight as well as the shows they hold year round. The section for new born and baby animals is cuteness overload. Price is well worth it though they do offer coupons and group discounts. Great activity for animal lovers of all ages.

Good variety of animals but place is pretty run down. Looks like they are working to improve but the animal enclosures were small and filthy. I was expecting Carol Baskin to pop up somewhere.

It was amazing. There were so many different animals and sea life to look at and alot of different animal feedings. Out of all ZOOs I enjoyed this one the best in arizona. Thank you for such a wonderful experience!! I will definitely be back with the whole family again

I visited the zoo/aquarium with my friend the other day and had a wonderful time. I looked for some of the negative things that were previously posted and the only thing that rang true was that you couldn't use a credit card at the smaller cafes. I used mine for entrance to the park and at the restaurant.

The exhibits were well maintained and nicely done. There were lots of different animals and plenty of staff to assist guests and explain the animals to everyone.

Let's talk about birds! Birds everywhere! More than you'll ever see! Yes a lot of education here!

Food was good, learning was great, all in all, it was money well spent.

This place was a huge letdown. The place is sad, old, and worse or all unpaved. This means that whatever shoes you and your kids wear will get dirty. The attractions seem very old and even the newer part of the place is disappointing. Perhaps my expectations were way off as I was expecting a Sea World or San Diego zoo caliber park. Also note, despite paying admission, all rides are extra and you pay (in some cases only accepting cash) per ride per person. Ok my 6 and 4 year old said they had a good time. I suppose that is worth something.

It was a super nice zoo beside some of the things I seen happening with the animals here. The prices are pretty expensive here but they have so many amenities even some amusement park rides. They have a wide variety of animals here which makes the good climate in this area beneficial. Although there weren't a whole bunch of places to order a meal, and the food was overpriced as well as the animals mating in front of our eyes it was still a good experience here. Came during a 2019 vacation to the area.

As I made my way around this place, I couldn t help but feel a dreadful sense of sadness. The animals look absolutely miserable. The quality of their habitats are so poor. There are horses across the street from the zoo who have a better environment than the zebras.

It s a really dingy place and the owner should stop investing in dumb rides and invest in the wellbeing of the animals. It clearly shows that money is the only goal here and it s completely disheartening. These animals deserve better.

Definitely not worth the $180 we spent to get in the doors. Every other attraction that wasn t the Zoo animals was an extra $6 per person. We spent a good 40 mins before we were too bored and waaaay too hot to continue. It was very disappointing and we wished that we went to the Phoneix Zoo instead.

What a wonderful zoo! Took my husband and Stepson to this zoo and had a great time. The amount of animals was amazing and all looked very well cared for. All looked happy and content. One of the bobcats happend to get my husbands hat and took it but besides that it was a great day. The food and drinks were a little pricey but it is what you expect for place like this. Still a very nice place to come and see. Definitely a must see.

My husband and I went here because of the great reviews, but here s an honest one! While there is some charm to it with the little carnival type rides here and there, and the sky ride, it is mostly extremely run down and the animal habitats are sorely lacking. The price for what you get borders on criminal! $39.95 for adults, and $19.99 for kids 12 & under! Seriously people - don t waste your time and money! If you want to drop this kind of money in hopes of a cool family adventure try the Odysea Aquarium! Now that s worth the money!
