Awesome zoo and they continue to add features great place to hang out with family
A good zoo experience. More on the pricy side for a zoo but worth it. Make sure to arrive early to look at the various animals. The newer sections seem to display the animals better. You can feed giraffes. Walk with kangaroos. Walk with birds. Ride a boat. My favorite zoo in the Phoenix area.
Awesome place to hang out for they day!! Animals are well taken care of, staff is great. Lots of shaded areas in the park. Look for 5 dollar discounts for entry... Clean and open areas with easy viewing of the animals. Animal shows with the staff are groovy as well. Overall 5 star experience.
Absolutely Awesome. The animals are much closer than at many other zoos and accessable from multiple places as you tour the zoo. The train and tram ate informative and worth every penny especially on a hot day. The aquarium is top notch, with staff penguin feeding and sea lion show with $5 to feed after. Shows are included with admission. Would go again, or purchase membership if I lived here.
****Make sure you take CASH! They have ATM s but if you don t want to pay the withdrawal fee, the main eatery is cash only, and I m not sure what the other ones are because there was only one with lunch food options so take your own snacks if you have kids***
Absolute *MUST SEE*! This is the best zoo I have ever been to. We got there when they opened and stayed until they closed and still didn t see the whole thing!
The giraffe feeding attraction is amazing! Who knew a giraffe tongue felt like a cat tongue. Definitely not common knowledge! Make sure you take quarters because it is $0.50 to get the food.
The bird feeding is a must-do as well! We participated and had birds landing on our heads and down our arms. Super unique experience. The staff members are so, so sweet and you can tell they adore the animals!
They also offer attractions and rides. It s more than just a zoo! This is a great spot for kids, and they have rescue animals like macaws and a white turtle with only two fully grown fins.
I absolutely love this zoo/aquarium. Final detail: F18 s fly overhead and you can watch them buzz by. This is my new favorite zoo.
Nice zoo. Restrooms are decent. Take some change in or be sure to get some at the entrance to feed some of the animals. My smaller children loved it. I would say visit early as it is big and may take a few hours to complete depending on age of children or health of those in group.
Make sure you pick up the Hickman eggs buy one get one coupon because it's not worth you full price ticket also wheelchairs rentals are $20 and that is a crime
Pack a lunch and plan on a busy day. Lots to see and do. Great family place!
Love it because it's not humongous and overwhelming
Great zoo tons of animals the aquarium is great the animals look well taken care of. Its a great place to take kids be prepared to walk around for hours there is a lot to see and takes most of the day to see them.
Great place to spend the day. Highlights were feeding the birds, as well as the sting rays!
This was a very special day for my girlfriend our kids and her dad and his wife plus it was my girlfriends birthday
Zoo was great, payed a good amount and yet rides aren't included but thats besides the point. Great family friend place to go to
This place is great, better than the Phoenix zoo in every way. Like all attractions located anywhere in the country, come prepared to spend money. The fee to get in is fair for the gargantuan size of this place but if you really want to make the best of it bring extra cash. There are guided tours by train, boat, and tram through different sections of the park that allow for very close up encounters with animals as well as knowledge on all of what you see. These tours cost extra and its cash only. Again, it's an attraction so be prepared to spend. Additionally there is a water based log ride/coaster to cool off, a mid size roller coaster (it's not six flags) and multiple other rides of varying levels of excitement. Food establishments are interspersed throughout the park with a Dillons Bbq right up front. Its decent (it's not little miss bbq let's be real) but it's good and you can relax over a few beers before venturing back out. The sheer amount of different animals is insane and almost beyond comprehension. Get some cash together and venture on out there. Its worth it.
It really will take you 6-8 hours to stop and see everything. We had such an incredible time. You can get so close to the animals and there are plenty of shady spots and exibits to get out of the sun. Definitely bring cash with you, many spots don't offer card options for payment.
I dislike the service. How dare you encage the giraffe. I am spiritually a giraffe and i must say, the encagement is too much for the cultural heritages of the giraffe. I am appalled by your wrong doing. You should be ashamed of yourself, keeping giraffes locked up. I need to see their consent to this. Then, you kicked me out for trying to get it on with a giraffe. Wow. I thought this was fun for the whole family, but i dont have a family. All i have are the giraffes. Now, i live lonely because i am banned from the zoo. 1/10
Lots of wonderful animals to see. Kids love the petting zoo.
It was a wonderful time, myself and my grandson and my sister and niece came to visit for the holiday so we thought it would be a great idea to go to the zoo. I have to say the sea lion attraction what a wonderful job your people do with training the animals and sharing all the wonderful things that they do with. The animals look like they're very well taken care of and this you is very clean. So thank you for helping make my sister and nieces holiday even more special. Happy Thanksgiving.
Had a Good time with the Grandson, lots of walking must be comfortable all of the hands on exhibits were Great. The Gift shop items are way over priced.
I thought there were some great animals and beautiful birds. It is a very relaxing day at this zoo.
Great zoo. But need new online employees. If you cant get things off your website that might confuse kids about being open then you need help. Won't hire me but obviously your employess can't do it for idk what reason when Phoenix Zoo can. How do you do that? Sure a phone call works but what do kids use? Internet.
Have not been in about 8 years. Has really grown since last time I was there. Spent while day and did not get bored.
I didn't like additional fees for rides inside. Bring quarters to feed the giraffes. However, there is so much to see we never felt like we were missing out by skipping the rides. Lots of walking. All kinds of animals. We were here 3/4 of the day and did not see everything.
This is a great zoo. I love that most of the animals are feed near the walls and observation areas which allow you to get very close to the animals.
I don't know how this zoo is still open. Tiny cages, terrible plastic habitats, ridiculously expensive and outdated. If this were the UK it would have been shut down years ago.
Off season so many rides closed but still a wonderful place. We took grandchild and really enjoyed the visit.
Love the zoo. We have to go at least once a year . It is wonderful seeing all the animals. You can interact with a few like bird you feed apples too and sting rays you can pet.
I love love love Monkeys what an amazing Zoo all the animals are right at a hands reach away. Couldn't be better
Great experience. Many different species from all ranges of climate. Anything from the creepy crawlies that live with us desert dwellers, all the way to exotic animals straight from the rain forests and savannas a world over. A great place to bring the family, and a wonderful learning opportunity for anyone.
It was ok, but not a place I plan to visit again. Prices to high for what they exhibit.
The service was excellent. There is this huge aquarium with sharks and stingrays. It's pretty cool to sit and watch. The 2 star rating is because the food was not very good. I cannot recommend this restaurant for that very reason.
Such a cool place to visit with the whole family. This zoo has come a long way from being a small zoo to a full on zoo and aquarium. So many fun rides and exhibits to stop and see. The train ride was short but so cool since you get to see the animals up close . what I love most about this zoo is they really are about conservation and releasing healthy animals that a ready back into the wild.
Awesome visit! Lots to do very big zoo area. The Safari ride is great! You can see animals up close. So many things to do here. Plan to spend the whole day to see everything!
Had my truck broken into and the suv next to me. The sheriff told me.it happens all the time here great way to end a vacation
Omg!! went here for the first time last weekend and it was AMAZING!!!!! I got to pet monkeys and sting rays and talked to birds!! Its was the COOLEST experience i WILL be back
Great family fun day. Lots to see and do. Talk about little rides to take from swings to zip lines. Even a small roller coaster!!
Really enjoyed our visit. Lots to see. Excellent aquarium. Great feeding the giraffes. Some rides for the kids, but pricey at $6 a ride.
We had a great time! The animals are kept in nice, natural habitats and all seem happy. We got to feed the giraffes. There is a train and a tram to ride around in. It's a fun park.
Loved it!!!! Expensive but very worth it!! Will go again soon
Only thing I don't like is that they still haven't found a way to keep the dust at a minimum. I always enjoy this venue. Their food is typical, but it's a great way to spend a nice day. I also appreciate that they didn't punish the jaguar for a mistake from a patron. Although, I would like to suggest we rename her to Selfie
great place for kids and adults. all animals looked healthy and well looked after.
This place is so cool!!!
I haven't been here for about 15 years. It has grown so much and has a really cool variety of animals. Unfortunately we ran out of time and missed the Safari Exhibit but nonetheless we had a great time! With a sunny AZ, there is lots of shade, sitting areas, and quite a few places to run indoors in case you need to escape the heat. There are also a few food options here as well with reasonable prices :)
Last but not least the aquarium exhibits were very unexpected and definitely exceeded what I was expecting!!!
This was my first time and we got a great costumer service, love the animals except I wish they can protect more the animals from the heat. I did see some of the birds even with coolers and sprinklers but not the big animals like the bear and some other I will definitely coming back, and hope to see some differences on them.
Over priced but it's still better than the Phoenix Zoo.
It it's a beautiful place to take grandkid and family
Great experience. The giraffes were worth the price by themselves. They only take cash!
Just left, and loved it. There was barely any parking left yet once inside it did not feel crowded unlike other zoo's. My kids loved the close interaction with the animals and the wife and I enjoyed the walk. I Highly recommended you visit at least once.
My favorite Phoenix zoo. Think about buying a membership if you go very often.
Llama named Milky way stole my heart. 10/10 would pet again
The zoo was great.. we had a wonderful time... My granddaughter had a blast...I do have have to say something bout zoobertos...the food was disgusting... seriously it's not that hard to make good authentic Mexican food... Should really consider better ingredients...
I enjoyed this zoo very much. Although it was quite a hot day, the trip was pleasant. Never did I feel cheated as I was able to see all of the animals up close and personal.
I love coming here with the family. Especially right when the zoo opens. The new additions to the attractions are very nice. Be sure to bring a few dollars in quarters to feed some giraffe. If you really like birds, there are tons of them. During the most recent visit there were lots of baby and young animals around too! You can walk the whole park and see everything in a 3 or 4 hour day.
We had a blast loved it there want to go back to do some stuff we didn't get to.
Beautiful Zoo, it's more spread-out, but a little expensive. Have to pay for rides that are there and any extras.
Beautiful and clean animals looked very well taken care of.
WWZ is a great place for the whole family. With our annual membership, we often go enjoy the playground and a picnic, kill the summer heat with a stroll through the aquarium, and enjoy close encounters with a variety of beautiful and healthy animals such as giraffe, sea lions, lories, macaws, fox, rhinos and more. With several food options, plenty of shade structures and animal encounters, this is one of the most precious landmarks in Arizona for educational, all-ages fun.
This is by far the coolest zoo in Arizona! Great place to get up close with animals and the staff is so friendly!
Awesome place for kids, animals are close and easy to see
The best zoo I have EVER been to! Hands down, beats San Diego. The variety of animals here is unbelievable. And we saw EVERY SINGLE ONE! The enclosures are set so that you cannot miss them. They all appeared happy, healthy and well cared for. Temp was around 70 when we went and they were all so active and interesting to watch. They have rides too, but at $6 per person, per ride, we just couldn t swing it. No matter, we were there for the animals anyway. They may have an annual deal or something if you are local but we were just passing through town. So glad we stopped here. You will not be disappointed! Bring lots of quarters to feed the animals. Feeding the giraffes is the best! Hope we get to return sometime.
My kids are 5-8 and they walked the whole thing and never complained because they were thoroughly entertained by animals the whole time. We were there from about 10-2 and made it through the whole park. It was not crowded at all. Free parking. Check Groupon for deals!
A wonderful place. Was amazed at the amount of unique animals present. It started with the Aquarium section. I been to 5 different aquariums and saw fish I have never seen before. Then I got on the log flume ride which got me soaked ( very fun), Then through the rest of the park including the informative narrated train ride and the tram ride through Africa exhibit. All in all an excellent day. Additional every staff member we came across was friendly and helpful.
Cool place, lots of animals and well worth the money.
One of the monkeys looked at me wrong. The whole evening was ruined.
Pros:
You can get very close to all the animals.
The aquarium sections are awesome.
Cons: The rides are rip off. It is very expensive compared to the other zoo.
I have been sneezed by the lama, hope you have a great time there.
We had an awesome time viewing the animals..going on a safari and catching a view of the park from one of the rides..great family outing
Best Zoo hands down, getting up close and personal with the animals is amazing. Plus I love that you don t have to go far between exhibits to see the animals, but the Kangaroo s are by far the best
It is a nice zoo/aquarium it wasn't too crowded. We were able to ride the rides without a long line. It was a little pricey but as long as it goes to the care of the animals I'm good with that. The important part my grandkids had a wonderful time.
Most of the animals are so close you could almost touch them. In the case of a few, you can! Feeding giraffes is awesome and only costs fifty cents. Some animals I've never seen before, as well, like fish that don't have eyes. And we got to see a baby lion and a baby hyena. Definitely worth the money. Most of the animals have pretty large habitats and seem well taken care of. Highly recommended zoo.
We were impressed with the entire park and the number of different animals. Of all of the zoo's we visited, including the San Diego Zoo, Wildlife World was by far the most interactive. What we particularly liked was how well the animals are cared for, as all of the animals were active and playing. Overall, this Zoo is a much more intimate experience and well worth the cost of admission.
This is a nice zoo. It is much larger than I had expected. If it hadn't been so hot, it would have been even more enjoyable. When the rides are completed, I think it will be a fantastic destination for families. We walked all around the zoo part and through the aquarium buildings. The food is a little pricey, but was tasty. If you look for discount tickets online, you can save a few dollars. It would be nice if a train or tram ride was included with the price of admission as well, but all in all I think it is worth the price of admission. However, I would advise planning your trip on a day when the temperatures are cooler than 100 degrees!
