Love this zoo! Feels like a great workout with an awesome variety of animals
Came here as a kid more than 15 years ago and it hasn't changed nearly at all. Some of the enclosures and building could use an update. Sad to see it so empty.
My son loves coming here it's a little expensive but makes my son happy to see the animals I just would love to see a place where you can feed birds Like a walk in aviary
Since I was very young I have loved the zoo. Now I get to enjoy watching my grandchildren enjoy learning about animals and where they come from. The two issues I have with this zoo is the cost for one adult is $42.00! That is crazy. The second is they are not exactly ADA compliant and there is very limited seating even if you dare to make the attempt to walk the whole area. The concession stands are very pricey. I understand you need to feed and take care of the animals. But for the amount of volunteers that donate their time to help the zoo I think it could be made much more affordable. If you make it more affordable people would go more often. Thank you.
Great place to take the kids. Tons of stuff to do. Feeding the giraffe was so much fun.
It was alright but can do better , make it more modern looks old
Always lived this private zoo and with the aquarium it is just that much better. My mother and I try to do an annual pilgrimage there in the fall. The setting is more natural and quaint then the phoenix zoo.
HANDS DOWN puts Phoenix Zoo to shame, worth the drive from East valley. Make it a full day adventure & you might still miss a few things.
Huge zoo, clean, animals seem to be taken care of well. The aquarium is quite well outfitted as well
Excellent zoo and aquarium with a varied assortment of animals from all over the world. Plenty of feeding opportunities to get engaged with the animals and presentations appropriate for all age levels. Definitely worth the price of admission to keep this place going strong and supporting them in their conservation efforts.
Such a unique place that lets you get up close and personal with the animals!
We got tickets for this through the Luke Air Force Base so we got discounted tickets. Best to get them there if you are active/retired military. We really liked the zoo. Many cool animals and able to feed the giraffes right there. Get some quarters at the entrance for the feed machines many opportunities to use 50 cents to get food from dispensers to feed animals. Not crowded at all. We hard packed dirt. Not as hot as Phoenix Zoo. They have rides also for $6.00 each. We did the ski lift type gondola ride and the log ride that gets you wet. Nice day. We got there just as it opened. Nice and cool. Heated up in afternoon and we went to see the aquarium at that time. Nice and cool for Phoenix. Ha. They have our favorite penny smasher machines so take some quarters and pennies. Have fun. We did.
Ate at Dillions. Love the atmosphere and the food is delicious! HUGE portions!
Expensive but there are the COOLEST animals here definitely would LOVE to do it again
Tons of fun for all of us! Great dinner!! Great staff all around!
Excellent had a wonderful time kids were entertained all day
Love going here. You feel so close to the animals and it never really feels crowded. Just wish there were more deals or coupons since it can be pricey to get in.
Beautiful day for walking around this amazingly designed zoo. Seriously, whom ever designed this zoo did a great job! My family and I love this place. The people are nice and we love seeing the animals up close.
an enjoyable experience, got to feed giraffes by hand and run around with some goats! some turtles were doing the nasty which was hilarous because of the weird grunting noises. also i had gotten the closest i've ever been near any kangaroos ever. Dillon's restaurant had a great interior with a view of the large aquatic tank. got to dine next to that tank, several marine life swimming past. not a bad way to spend a late afternoon and evening.
Overall the environment of the zoo is well organized and plenty of room for the younglings to excess their energy. I volunteered here for little over 5 months every week coming in, helping by cleaning out habitats, feeding and distributing medicine..but after all of that time and a promise to get some paying work after my efforts was all smoke in mirrors. Worth visiting but be wary of the workload.
I loved this place and so did my kids. We enjoyed it very much. The only thing i will say is that the fact that you can only use cash for the cafe's and rides is inconvenient
My girls had a lot of fun seeing all the animals. The bathrooms were clean and they had baby changing tables.
Love this Place Good for the Family just needs more places to sit for lunch or even better a Covered lunch area. 3 stars for that but 5 stars for family fun.
Love this place! Smaller than the phoenix zoo but still large enough to make a whole day of it :) the animals are well taken care of and the place is clean. It's pricey but you can find coupons online. I love it here!
although a diverse zoo with a multitude of activities, they are overpriced - would visit more often if they had family packages similar to PHX zoo
Great the family loved it more than enough for one day
OMG what an amazing day. Lions Tigers and bears!!! So many birds! And the baboons and monkeys! The aquarium is spectacular
I have purchased annual passes for me family for the last few years, however since there is no offering for a discounted price for a family pack there will no longer be annual passes purchased from us which is sad because the Wildlife Zoo is pretty awesome, it would be nice if they would offer a package somewhat like the Phoenix Zoo does with the
Family Plus Package Price: $279 (Includes basic benefits for three named adults, two named adults and one Flexible Guest* or one named adult and two Flexible Guests* and up to six children or grandchildren ages 3 17)
Children ages 2 & under: Free... On a last note I understand that the Wildlife Zoo does not receive subsidies from the city and that is the reason for the higher fees, however with family with adult children this gets expensive.
We love this zoo! It's massive so every time we come we visit one area. Bring walking shows because there's a lot of dirt amd gravel. Bring quarters to feed the various animals. Definitely worth getting a family membership if you can. We bring our kids once a week.
I loved it. So much to see. We will definitely be back.
It's a great place to visit. Only thing I personally did not like was that I went to buy food and asked if I could get ice and water in my hydro flask and was told if you want water it's $3.50 a bottle.. say what!!! It's just water come on. And I could only get ice if you got a drink from them. Either way they want your money.
Great zoo. Better than the big zoo's because you are so much closer to the animals. You can really see them. Great for the kids.
A bit pricey, but totally worth it & the place is huge, so you can spend all day there. There are lots of extra paid attractions as well, but remember the attractions only accept cash. The train ride is a must, very cool & knowledgeable guides. This place has the most hands on interactions with the animals that I've been to. I recommend this place for families, dates or just to hang out with your friends.
Great zoo for birds. Lots of different animals, sadly the tigers look extremely bored and seem to hate their cages that they've done nothing but walked circles around more times than I can count.
Great place I'm a grandma came with g kids loved it
The actual zoo is fine and extensive. And fun! We were just super bummed the expensive entrance fee didn t cover ANY OF THE RIDES OR TRAINS. All rides were $6 a person and super dead because it was obvious nobody wanted to pay $6 for a quick sky ride or train ride. We all agreed we would have gone to the zoo for less money or an actual amusement park for that price. Sorry- seemed like the cost should have covered everything or the per ride cost should have gone waaaayyy down. People need to realize this when making the decision to go :)
So much fun, took the grandkids, just a bit pricey, problay wI'll never go back.
Great experience, the whole family had loads of fun
It was a nice zoo. but I m pretty sure the lady that checked me overcharged me. I came alone and she charged me 44 dollars. My husband then came after and was charged the normal 39. Disappointing, because it was a nice zoo. Only difference is I m of color and he is not.
This place is massive. If you want to see it all, plan to spend the whole day there. The rides are an extra charge, and located way in the back (except for the Log Flume). Make sure to check out the park map so you can see the special events and shows. I particularly enjoyed feeding the birds.
Took our visiting family for dinner in front of the shark tank and it was fantastic!
We love this zoo! The animals have so much more space than any other zoo we have ever visited! We visit every time we're here! The staff are so informed. I love that they know the animals by site, even the birds, with 39 in the cage that's pretty impressive. So much information shared about each giraffe if you spend the time to listen to the staff.
It has the bet rides and they are fun I suggest you see all of the animals because they are all amazing
Had a great time with my family and animals loved every minute of if will be by ack soon too much to see for one day
Me and my son been here 3 times. Its a little exspencive but its worth the money
Such a genuine spot. Would never want to go back to a zoo knowing this places animals seem 100x happier&healthy. Wonderful outting for little ones summertime or not
Best day with my boys!!! Up close and personal with lots of animals!
Great variety and ability to get close to the animals
Great place to go and got a tour which made it even better.
So close to home and with the annual membership for the family, it's a great time all year long.
We went there for a school field trip an the whole kindergarten class had a amazing time!!! Very clean, organized, easy to locate the animals, an very friendly staff. Can't wait till we go again.
Pretty pricey for what they provide, but they are adding new animals all the time. We saw the baby lion, although he looked lonely. I prefer a smaller and cheaper zoo like Heritage Zoo in Prescott. I noticed most people were ignoring the high dollar, rare animals and going crazy for the petting zoo and aquarium.
The zoo had grown a lot. It is very fun. A good way to get out of the house as well as get some walking in. The safari part of the zoo was our favorite. We were excited for the aquarium but it didn't quite live up to expectations. Not sure if they had benches in The aquarium prior to covid but I that would have been nice. Over all a great experience
Nice place to interact with the wild animals again! Price of rides is pricey thou!
A wonderful place to visit with animals in a safe environment. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
This zoo is huge! We spent 3 hours here and still didn't get to see everything.
So cool! So much aquatic life! Animals I have never seen. Very informative. Good family trip
Great zoo. Lots of interactive elements throughout the park!
Advice:
Get tickets from Groupon or coupons from online(because it s pricey)
Bring cash and coins(50cents for feeding animals):they only accept cash for rides and restaurants somehow
Bring water bottle because it cost $4 for bottle water and cash only lol
Wear comfortable shoes(it s huge!)
Animals are so well taken care of and friendly.
So as fishes and reptiles.
Each animal has given enough space I think.
Cash only part is a little fishy but as long as you have cash and coins to get food to feed for animals you will enjoy!
Great zoo!! Lived here for 12 yrs and my first time at this zoo. Spent a good 5 hrs wandering the grounds. Well laid out . Animal exhibits very nice. Many with viewing towers . Looks like many new exhibits being built. Enjoyable experience.
Ton of fun, lots of animals, go to the Africa area in the back first due to there not being much shade. The rides are way over priced but still alot of fun!
Great place to take my kids. Lots of animals, spacious enclosures. Spent the whole day and had a great time
Great zoo! Perfect for entire family and great way to spend the day!
A little pricey, but lots of animals and it keeps the kids entertained for 3 hours easy.
So much to see and do. Definitely get there early. It will take ask day. It is also pricey for activities so be prepared. Bring lots of quarters to feed tube animals.
Great place to bring your kids, on a not-so-hot-Arizona day, at least once. A heads up, they only take cash once in the zoo, but they do have ATMs. It's dusty (welcome to Arizona) so wear closed shoes. And their drinks in the park are not that cold, and they don't use lids or straws for their drinks.
Love animals and train. Hours to spend everywhere and it s huge place. They keep adding lands. Food are excellent. I wish they did what phx zoo do for their giraffe feeding, poor my toddler daughter r unable to reach to feed giraffes, I would go phx zoo for my daughter able to feed giraffes. They should have healthy choice for giraffes like phx zoo did. Aquarium r amazing place to be!
Great place to take the family. Feed the Lory's at 11, 1, 3; best experience!
This place was amazing all the exhibits and animals walking around
