The new terminal C is entirely reserved for the Easy jet airline. Obviously the terminal is brand new equipped with all essential services such as WiFi and several dining options. Competent, professional and kind staff. Excellent cleaning of the toilets. Highly recommended to everyone. Enjoy.
I visiting this airport either very early or very late. In the mornings, when empty, its good to have Italian breakfast there. In the evening place is overcrowded and only few places are available to sit down in the arrivals hall. There is average restaurant and bar in the right hand side of the departure hall. Place is much better than previous old building, but authorities should think about bigger place to accommodate passengers with comfort. Departure gates zone has few pigeons leaving inside the building - kids have fun!
The Alitalia call center sent me to the Alitalia ticket office at the airport to resolve a flight change problem and after having traveled many miles to reach it, the guard on entry tells me that at the airport there is no dedicated Alitalia office at the airport. that is, at most you can check in.

I am from Catania and have always used this airport. But I also did some laps, so the comparison is easy for me.

It is not connected to the railway, it is not connected to the city of Catania except with a city bus (I know they have improved it, but I have not yet taken the new 4 version). The terminal is dirty, today a pigeon flew in (it's not the first time). The terminal had water leaks shortly after it opened. Now they are having to rework it, from the bathrooms to the departure area. But a wrong project, once realized ... a pitiful veil on personnel at security checks.

45 minute wait for bags which were soaked after a shower and no attempt to cover the bags. All clothes in the bags were wet, obviously the staff didn't care.

Too long queues, very disorganized, not enough places to sit while awaiting your flight. What am I supposed to do? Stand for two hours?! Too crowded, not enough coffee shops, food is terrible and expensive. Staff is poor in english skills. All and all, avoid if you can.
How could I review this airport? Perhaps a team of professional and independent reviewer and auditors could highlight the bad design, the lack of dedicated staff, the messy integration with all connecting roads and car parks... Perhaps simebody could explain Why they decided to close the drive-through departure road on the first floor, for instance? The consequence is a 2 miles traffic queue with obvious delays. Chaotic the check in area... No staff to be seen around ... ludicrous announcements briadcasting all over the airport no matter which gate it is intended to. You see a sign indicating gate 21 and 22 but it's just a corridor and impossible to tell which queue to join. Loud staff, no sorry no please... Shame... Sicily is such a beautiful island with great potential but it is let down by poor organization and terrible management.

And more than 50 people's of your flight was affected. When we fight back to our home, we had a lot of delay. The aircraft was in time but the airport was not able to handle the peoples and services. Very, very crazy.... In the future I try to avoid these airport.

Massive queues getting off the motorway to this small, not very well signposted airport. Not enough bag check staff. Then when we were told our gate (22) we went through passport control but on the other side we had no cafe. Was expecting to have breakfast before the flight but we just sat in a holding area for two hours. Machine coffee and a massively over priced 'duty free'.
Catania Airport is not a great experience.

My wife and I took a taxi to our hotel. We asked first if we could pay with our credit card, the driver said yes, half way there he stoped at an ATM and told me to get out and get cash. He charged us 40 Euros, we thought it was too much considering the distance between the airport and our hotel was less than 5 kilometers.
