William Tell Restaurant & Banquets Review

Called twice and emailed twice about information on a room and no one and gotten back to me yet. It s been almost 3 weeks. Very disappointed

Best place to eat something when in a hurry. Their customer service is quick, rates are affordable, awesome mood. Highly recommended

Advertised Sunday brunch, nothing, restaurant closed for remodeling, I was told in a phone conversation.

We didn't eat at the attached restaurant. Nice appearances, but a few issues. The beautiful pool facilities have been ruined by the men's shower having no heat on two visits (over a few years). The men's toilet area next to those same showers a few weeks ago was plugged and waste ran across the floor..smelly. We were part of a small wedding group that only spent the night at this Holiday Inn. We came home quietly and went to bed. The dance music beneath our room went quiet precisely at 1:00 AM. No problem. However, families with intoxicated individuals were all around our room and in our hall. "Dad, I'm sleeping out here! I won't sleep in that room with 'him'." "He's really drunk and he just took my keys!" I fully expected staff to deal with this. I called after not sleeping and finally the floor grew quiet at 4:24 AM. I brought up my experience with all of these things , non-belligerently, and didn't even receive a "Sorry, Sir." We cant' stay here in the future, my wife and I expect to sleep in a motel. For the motel cost no morning breakfast, except coffee, is provided...they do have a nice restaurant attached. Being older, we liked having an elevator.

These inept people ruined my wedding in more ways than one! I'm giving Sue Frederickson one more chance to return my emails before I take her to small claims court!

I recently had my bridal shower at William Tell, and had a great experience from start to finish. My mother and I worked with Jill to plan the event, and it couldn't have been easier. She helped us make all the right decisions and guided me to the appropriate vendors and resources to make everything about the day perfect. The plated meal option was reasonably priced, elegantly displayed, and tasty. Our servers, Maria, Rose, Lourdes and Janet were very attentive to all of our guests, and everyone had a great time. I would highly recommend William Tell for events and occasions. There are a variety of room styles, food options and the banquet rooms have recently been remodeled!

Outstanding collection of gourmet entrees. They offer a variety of spirits to select from. A great banquet room for wedding showers, birthday parties, and retirement celebrations.

Good food with nice staff. Wonderful prime rib sandwich. Little pricey but what I would expect from a hotel eatery.

Service was great, menu is small, and prices are normal for a hotel. Only me and one other at the bar.

Everything was fine except for the beef it was cold. The service was ok, bartenders were nice

We just recently had our wedding reception at William Tell. They were absolutely amazing and a joy to work with. Michelle was awesome. She really kept me calm and knew exactly what she was doing. We had such a good time. The room was GORGEOUS and Smijla and their team did such a great job decorating it. I cannot say enough nice things about it. And I am hearing rave reviews from my guests as well! They loved the food and the ice cream bar we brought in was a big hit. I would highly, highly recommend having a wedding here. They will take great care of you!

Well couldn't eat at the William Tell Restaurant because it's closed for renovations!!! And so is the hotel and there's work being done everywhere!!! When we made the reservation no one mention to us the restaurant was closed and they were doing renovations at the hotel... Huge disappointment for our lil family get away so had to leave the hotel to a near by restaurant to eat dinner!!!! If i could do 0 stars I would right now.. Well where here now and here till Sunday at the hotel...smh

Average food.. if I werent at a conference I would not eat here.. too many other delicious places to eat in Chicago..

Attended a seminar here. Too many seats per table. We were packed like sardines.

Had my wedding and my baby shower there. Michelle is the best! Ask for her and tell her I sent you! She's the best. Also their pool is amazing!!!! Their rooms are so nice and clean. You can eat there too and it is delicious and not expensive at all. Can't say enough about them. A place to go for events and or stay for the night and enjoy the pool.

they were not that busy (perhaps 3 tables) and it took a while to get a refill on my soda but the food was amazing! I had the chicken Parmesan. it had a lovely wine base red sauce that had a lite flavor that sits nicely on the tongue. staff was professional and treated me with respect even though I was dressed like the truck driver I am. I can't wait to come back and bring my wife.

Table service was over the night I stopped in and the woman bartender went ballistic when I ordered. Food was 3 stars and her service was -1

Went to a senior expo. Very nice. Free stuff and a singer of oldies. We stayed there several years ago with the grandkids and had a blast at the pool. Rooms were great.

I got an accessible room w/a roll-in shower. The room itself was big enough to hold a dance w/room to move around the beds & furniture. However, the shower could use a little help. The drain wasn't sunk in, so the water was all over the bathroom floor & wasn't going down the drain. It needs to be sunk in w/maybe a drain outsid the shower to let it go down before it reaches the door. Other than that, the air was uncontrollable in the room we were in. We tried to keep it warm & the air conditioning always turned on making it incredibly cold. We could have used no air instead of freezing.

Went there for a birthday party in the Terrace Room. When we got there, the receptionist was busy so we looked at the signs for directions, which were wrong bc they guided us to the pool. Once we were able to ask for help we had to exit the hotel and walk around it to get to the Terrace Room. We couldn't go straight through bc there was a wedding in the room right next to ours. The area was very cold even though the heaters were turned on.

My parents got married here 25yrs ago. It was a beautiful wedding. On Sunday, the 27th, we celebrated their 25th anniversary and it was a wonderful surprise staff helped me put together. In grateful to everyone who helped! Everyone loved the backyard food menus!!! Thank you again

Buffet. For everyone else, great! If you are gluten intolerant, like me, only fruit eggs and potato and yogurt. Only pork as well, as usual.

William tell restaurant is gone. Banquets may still be there. So I haven't been here in years so I can only give them 1 star. My opinion doesn't matter on this one.

Had my daughter's bridal shower there. It was just what we were looking for. They worked with us to get everything right and staff was wonderful, thanks Harley for all your help. Would defiantly use again! Thank you

Contracted this venue for our 50th high school reunion. I cannot praise this place and their staff enough. They handled all our needs and accommodated all our changes, one right after the other during the year leading up to the event. Our banquet hall was beautiful, food was excellent and the service wonderful. Would recommend without hesitation.

I was here end of October 2016 for my friends wedding, which I was in. The overall appearance and cleanliness of the place was nice. The staff had said that we wouldn't have to lift a finger in getting the banquet hall ready for the wedding. However, the groomsmen and the bridesmaids did ALL the work to get the hall ready while the staff just passed them by. That was my first irritation which I wasn't going to say anything about until this happened. I was staying in one of the bridal suites as we were getting ready for the wedding. I had brought a brand new $40 iron, doesn't seem like much but when you're broke, $40 is a lot, and an ironing board to help steam the bridesmaids dresses. With all the chaos of the wedding going on, taking care of my tofdler daughter and all her things, I accidentally left my expensive iron and my ironing board in the suite. I called for over a week leaving messages with the head housekeeper only to be brushed off and ignored. Finally, I was so frustrated that NO ONE had called me back that I called and asked to speak with a manager because of my frustration. She was VERY helpful. I described to her my iron and ironing board and she said she had found them!! I was so excited. I had my dad pick them up a couple days later. Only to discover that one of the housekeeping or some other worked there had swapped my iron for a shittier version of an iron that LOOKED similar to mine but was definitely NOT mine. I called and complained and the manager just said well that's the only one I found. I said well one of your employees must have taken it and she said that it couldn't be proven so there's nothing they can do. So I'm super pissed that I have this crappy iron while someone who worked there has my awesome iron. Long story short, don't leave anything you want back there because someone is bound to take and/or swap it out with a shittier version of what you had. Super shady.

The food was delicious and the staff was super cool especially the accounting team!!!!

Rooms are nice and clean, but the restaurant needs some work with the staff, only people in there and waited 15 min for drinks and even longer to get order taken!

My wife and I had chosen this hotel/venue to host our wedding. Our experience started nearly 3 years ago with them and every step of the way we felt like we were treated like royalty or celebrities.



As far as our wedding day, everything went smoothly. The food and staff were phenomenal, not only to us, but to all of our guests. It wasn't brought to our attention until the following day that there were a few hiccups during the night that the staff had fixed without notice to allow us and our guests to enjoy our special night. We couldn't have pictured the reception being anymore beautiful than it was. Our guests raved about the venue, food, and service and how gorgeous the atrium hall was decorated.

The package we had selected included a complimentary one night, one year anniversary, stay at their hotel. Fast forward one year later, we booked our stay. As soon as we walked through the door, we were greeted by the front desk staff member, Beth, who not only remembered us from our wedding day, but she was kind enough to upgrade to a suite and informed the rest of the hotel staff that it was our one year anniversary. We also received vouchers for dinner and breakfast at the William Tell Restaurant. When we went to dinner, we were greeted by Daniel, who was also our server. He immediately congratulated us on our anniversary and brought us two toasting glasses, one non-alcoholic for my pregnant wife. His service throughout dinner was more than perfect. He was attentive, concerning, and sincere. He even showed us out, shook my hand, and thanked us for coming in. Proving to us, yet again, that the employees at this hotel take their job seriously and enjoy the work they do, providing exceptional customer service to their guests.

If I could give a higher rating, more than 5 stars, I would because as I've said throughout my review, this place has been fantastic. I hope that everyone who chooses them based off of my review can have the same experience my wife and I had.

Could use a little maintenance in bathroom area stuff was coming out of the walls. Pool area is nice but no towels and workout area very minimal for weights only dumbbells.

Worst customer service EVER from front desk manager Kevin,he is extremely rude and prejudiced.He yelled at my daughter in front of about 15 customers In the lobby he used foul language,my niece brought my daughter birthday balloons and kevin made her take them out of pool area my daughters had snacks in pool area on table and kevin yelled at them and told them they had to remove the snacks other ppl had pizza soda beer and snacks and kevin said nothing to them,there are pool signs everywere and nothing states no food or drinks allowed kevin was screaming at my daughter that he was gonna make us leave he is very rude and unprofessional when I got to the hotel I went up to desk to find out what the problem was and kevin was gone come to find out he was the manager,I asked 4 a handicap room because my son is in a wheelchair and they gave me a room on the third floor with a broken elevator waited over 30min to get on elevator the the 3rd fl button did not work,smh I stay at the hotel every year for my daughter birthday and this was far most the worse experience I have ever had at this hotel!!!!! Even the other employees working the desk apologized for the way their manager acted...kevin should definitely not be a manager

The staff customer service was excellent. Daphine, Kaylaa, Frank, and room service were attentive, prompt, and professional.

This place seems like it has been around forever, and it still is a great place to have a wedding reception! Dinner is prepared perfectly, and the management is kind and friendly.

Ray The Connexion Band

This restaurant is first of all, a really snobby place. On top of this the service is really as slow as watching paint dry. The menu and times and number online are wrong. The food is average and grossly overpriced. Very overrated. Incompetent, impolite service.

They are using non union workers amd it isnt going to fly.

Restaurant is closed. Still under construction with the staff having no clue when it will reopen.

Excellent food. Enjoy their breakfast menu and buffet.

Great service, only complaint was the elevator door would not open on the 1st floor. Took the stairs to the 2nd floor to go to the 6th floor. Next day it was fixed.

I went to a conference, I found the facilities excellent.

Stayed the night. Enjoyed the large indoor pool along with it's smaller kid friendly pool the gets to the depth it 3 1/2 feet. My son had a blast swimming as no one else was in the place. The rooms are clean , spacious, and nicely decorated. The bathroom was large with a nice walk in shower. Will definitely return for another stay and recommend to friends/ family.

Company Christmas Brunch. Very nice. Good food. Nice room. Good staff.

Food cold, chicken so overcooked it was hard and inedible, mushy veggies, slow service. Was here for a formal bday party.

Our group booked a room at the hotel yesterday for our annual winter conference where we had the room until six. Well it turns out they double booked the room for a wedding and interrupted one of the presenters by moving our screen and building a stage behind him THEN they kicked us out of the room and made us walk out in the snow to a backup room to finish our conference in a room with three tables and maybe enough chairs for a quarter of those there. Needless to say we are not going back there and I advise you don't book any sort of conference or gathering there for fear of being booted from the room mid event.

We had the prime rib. Service was phenomenal. Food was so good. Homemade dressings!

We recently had our wedding at William Tell (ceremony & reception). I had researched over 30 venues and their video on their website sold us and since they have been in business for over 20 years, we figured we were making the best decision and could trust them! However, we were disappointed with our coordinator, from the beginning to the end, it was difficult getting in touch with her, unlike what they advertise on their website. I had my hesitations but tried to trust that she was doing her job. I even attempted contacting her 4 days before the wedding about last minute details, no response until the rehearsal day. We understood there were other weddings that needed the attention every wedding deserves but not contacting the bride 4 days before her wedding is unacceptable! What upset us the most was that on the day of our wedding, my mother was the one running around making sure things were taken care of, we didn't know when and where to stand before the ceremony, and the worst part, the ceremony didn't have a microphone, which was clearly written in our contract! Lack of communication or just laziness. Therefore, our guests couldn't hear anything. I understood the day wasn't going to be perfect and there were going to be hiccups but come on! Days later when we confronted the situation, our coordinator acted like she had no idea about anything when my mom had already mentioned the situation to her and again, it took her over two weeks to come up with a solution that doesn't really help us! I did take matters to management. Bottom line, we paid good, hard earned money for this special day, and for a business for over 20 years, a microphone seemed like a silly thing to forget, among contacting the clients, and being there on the day of the wedding to make sure things ran smoothly!
**I will say, the Atrium Room (reception), the wait staff, the decorator, food, drinks, etc. were absolutely wonderful!!! Piece of advice though... try and request Michelle or Candice! We did speak with them a few times and they were both very responsive and helpful. Good luck in your planning!

William Tell restaurant is temporarily closed during the hotel's renovation. Stanley Pub is filling in and the food is still fantastic.

Great variety of menu items. Attentive service. Roast duck was amazing. Had a spectacular evening dining here.

Your entire staff was Top Shelf rooms we're perfect swimming pools Class Act number one and I've been across the United States and people where genuine our stay was perfect thanks for reading Go Cubs
