It's like paying for college parking -- there's no parking. You pay so much only to not have tables to eat their over-priced food. There are not enough bathrooms for the quantity of people the building holds. Forget about any cellular service and their lack of internet connection. And old, archaic building for a crowd that time forgot.

Good venue. Parking not too good but ok. They should devise a method to provide parking for ticket holders. Even at a premium price. Make it connected to the performance ticket. If you are paying over $225 for a ticket $20 or $30 f o r a Straz sponsored parking place would be good.
A shout-out to Brent Denison who so graciously provided an accommo-dation for our 15 year old family member who has a developmental disability. We are so excited to be able to share this beloved child's first Broadway show experience with him on account of Brent. Thank you so very much!
The center is actually the center of the downtown area and is pretty visible from afar. Many parking lots are nearby, so it's about 5-7 minutes walk from the lot. Parking costs about $10 or so. The seats in the morsani hall were decent enough, although the hall looked outdated and a tad rustic. The center has been renovated (exteriors) recently, not sure how the interiors of other Halls inside look like. There are some beer stalls and cafeterias around the halls although in some Halls food/drinks were not allowed. The crowd was energetic for the show I had been to.
Do not visit this venue. They will penalize you for parking even after you have paid for parking WITH A RECEIPT present. Also, if you purchase a drink, bring your first born child and be prepared to hand them over.
Beautiful theater on the river in Tampa. Great road versions of Broadway shows. We have been season ticket holders for the past 3 years. Can honestly say that we always enjoyed ( to varying degree ) every show we have seen. Give this theater a try you won't regret it.
Joann at the ticket office has been wonderful! She and her team helped me multiple times over a ticket issue that I had and made sure the issue was resolved correctly and was very nice to work with! I love attending shows here, and will always be a loyal patron now! Thank you!
The Center is gorgeous, but parking to get here is a living nightmare. Downtown Tampa is cursed with absolutely horrendous traffic patterns and just enough parking available for each performance. Come here with plenty of time to fight with traffic and circle around for a while for a place to park. The staff if very friendly and helpful and there are some places to grab a bite to eat or have a few drinks before and during performances.
Clean and helpful staff. Event prices are typically way over priced, the vendors ran out of almost all snacks. The entrance is very slippery. Saw several people slip on the way in. The bathrooms have someone stationed within, this was helpful in making sure all stalls were being utilized and people were moving along but as in any large event the lines were nuts!
Had my sons graduation there only thing I didnt like was they had us waiting in the heat for a hr instead of letting us in everyone was dressed in suits and graduation gowns..and the parking was 20 bucks what a rip
We are lucky to have this gorgeous place here in Tampa. Parking was available; there was a coffee house right at the building, a suncoast credit union atm, food available for purchase and many friendly volunteers. Hamilton was a great show! (I just wish there were more bathrooms ;-) )
The theatre and it's shows are always great. The parking situation is ridiculous and gets worse every show I attend. There is no dedicated accommodation for theatre goers to park their cars. Those of us who pay a premium for season tickets are forced to troll the area for parking and then are gouged $20 to park and walk several blocks. The theatre and even the City has an obligation to those who have a big hand in keeping the arts alive and thriving.
Great place, super expensive and the stage is smaller than I d like. that being said the staff is friendly and helpful and the seasons always have something for everyone. Opera Tampa and the Ballet are a special treat full of local talent and I ve never seen an orchestra here that has disappointed. All in all I knocked a star because they need more space on those stages, but they really are very creative and giving to our community. Love TPAC and all it does for culture and the arts!
Just returned from seeing Come From Away at the Straz Theater. Class act all the way! Staff, volunteers, cleanliness, and the standard of excellence was presented in only the fashion expected of the presence of the true style of the beautiful downtown waterfront of Tampa. An absolutely memorable evening!
I purchased four tickets to the Jim Jefferies show on Friday June 16th and my total for the seats was around $414 including fees etc. The actual per-ticket price was $87.00. Jim Jefferies was awesome!! The theater and front of house staff were great and we had a fantastic time. With that said, the audio quality was absolutely terrible!! Whoever was in charge of audio needs to look for another job. Or maybe it was the quality of the equipment itself? Paying $87+ for seats 6 rows from the stage in the Carol Morsani Theater I didn't mind but I'd never do it again with sound quality as bad as it was. A lot of people around us said the same thing and that's a shame. Great everything, terrible audio!!
Could not enjoy the $159 ticket seat since there is no policy against people texting through the entire performance. They need a no cell phone seat section. Very disappointed.
It s hard to buy tickets as a gift as they do not send you the barcodes or info until 6 hours before the show. Really?? It makes it impossible for People such as my parents who do not have smartphones or a printer. Ridiculous
Was here to see Wicked. It's a beautifully appointed theatre. Sat in mezzanine 6, great seats. The seats in the mezzanine are just chairs that are movable which seemed odd for such a beautiful building. The show was extremely well done. The set and stage were fantastic.
Very embarrassed by ushers who accused me of taking videos which I didn't. That attendees were complaining hard to believe I could see and hear behind me. I kept my cell phone up because I was seated in the second row. Took many pictures because when you are focusing on moving objects you pick the best ones out of the pictures, needless to say none had but half a body. Paying close to $200.00 which included the greet and met. Not cool at all. Not knowing that our seats were going to be in front of the stage floor about 4' feet high and with lights set on top of the stage. The performance was about 5' feet away from the beginning of the stage. I'm 4'11" and seating, so imagine what I was enjoying half of the body's of the Sesame Performaner. The announcements included the authorization of picture taking. Why didn't the coordinator block off the first rows. That would have been fair and understandable. Or explain that certain area/s seats are available for customers interested in taking pictures. Better coordination is needed when it comes to children's performance. People had to move after paying for the better seatings. Foreseeing the height of the audience to attend due to the infrastructure. This was my first time to the Stradz Center is was saddening.
They are screwing their long time patrons with an added charge of $750.00 for rows DD through row J for season ticket holders. Their Brodway Series is a little lack luster. I guess after row J they see a different play that does not charge as much.
My daughter loves musicals, as do I, so one Christmas I surprised her with tickets to see a play. She was thrilled, said she could knock it off her bucket list. Since then we have gone to a lot of musicals. Rent, Phantom of the Opera, Little Mermaid, and recently Chicago, just to name a few. We get all dressed up and eat at Maestro's to make a special night of it with just us, no kids or husbands. I really love everything about the straz except the seats. My daughter and I are both on the large size. I feel like I'm sitting in airplane seating. The seats are very close together and the rows are so close that our knees touch the back of the seats in front of us. Which makes it very hard to let people past you to get to their seats or us to ours. I've gotten to where I buy seats in the middle of the row, hoping we won't have as much traffic to avoid getting stepped on. And it's not like the seats are cheap either. I'm usually in the orchestra somewhere around row R or closer. With as many larger people around it would just be nice to have a little room to breathe. Maybe put a few larger access seats for sale, I know I would buy them . Other than the seats,. I have no complaints, everyone that works there are super nice, it's very clean everywhere, even the restrooms at intermission. There is plenty of parking available for a reasonable price as well.
The location was easy to get to, and we watched a beautiful sunset along the river before Hamilton. The seating could use a bit of improvement with a walkway down the center to break it up a bit, but it's a lovely venue.
