We stayed here in August of 2018. The rooms are a bit dated. Our sheets had 2 nasty stains on them when we got here. The appliances are very dated, the fridge kept freezing our meat no matter what it was set to. The worst part is the customer service is really poor. This was not one random occurrence either, we ran into exceptionally poor service more than once. The employees are smug and blatantly disrespectful to the guests. The funny part is they are trying to sell time shares on top of that. Do yourself a favor and find another resort.

I took my daughter here for her 10th birthday. I was very disappointed. We have stayed here before but never experienced such poor customer service. Our room was not clean, missing items, coffee pot was dirty, no coffee cups to make the coffee and beer caps were found on the floor. For the price that it cost, I expect at the very least a nice clean room. When I reported this to the front desk, the young rep said "Oh ok sorry". There was no follow up, no manager involved, no resolution or compensation. That along with other staff members that provided wrong information and had very poor manners lead me to believe this is not the place to stay moving forward. We'll be looking into other options moving forward.
Overall this is a quality establishment, but there were three things that really put a damper on our experience. First, the front desk took half an hour to assist us and two other guests. Second, the shuttle to the condo was very slow to respond. We lost a lot of time out of water park hours. Third, there is a 250lb weight limit on one of the slides, posted only on one small sign partway up the stairs. Carrying a tube it's very easy to miss. There is a scale at the top, and multiple people in our group had to walk back down. Did I mention that said scale had a digital readout and all your friends get to see? Humiliating. That's a mistake a place like this should not make!
I loved all the water slides and rides I got to enjoy this moment with my family the food was great ! But there a 2 things to complain about sadly in this wonderful place one the floor in pools can scrape someone s knee like what happened to myself and my niece and the second one is there was a certain area that we went to there were bugs spiders and debree all over this place and keep in mind I went this summer in August but everything else was good even the hotel it was the best I recommend this to your family! If they fix those 2 issues I had.
Everything is fine, not awesome but fine. Everyone seems to get lost, we usually see numerous people wandering around looking for something. We come here usually for conferences, the food is in dire need of updating. It's just so crazy with all the people
This is my family's third trip to The Wilderness our fourth to the Dells. Things have clearly changed. We were there for four days - a quick getaway over Labor Day. When we arrived, the young woman at the desk completely circled the wrong entrance and identified the wrong segment of the building. After a bit of a hike, we found our room only to discover it reeked of mold and dampness. I did not want to brave the crowded lobby again so I just opened the door and hoped for the best. The next disappointment were the waterparks. It rapidly became apparent that the day passes were a problem. The parks were WAY overcrowded - even pre-COVID that would have been full - post-COVID that was ridiculous. Cleanliness was appalling. My children found someone's fake eyelashes and part of a weave floating in the wave pool. When we arrived in the morning, the chairs were well spaced, but people kept moving them closer and closer with staff not saying a single word. When we attempted to play laser tag, I had to walk back to the gift shop to figure out what the girl running laser tag was even telling me since suddenly tickets could not be purchased at the desk.
All in all, I would say this is our last trip to The Wilderness. It used to be a relatively nice, almost high end, waterpark resort. This trip it felt like every other slightly slimy waterpark struggling to turn a buck.
There were bed bugs in our room (although the staff did handle it well and give us another room). We weren't able to go to the waterparks at all, despite a 2 night stay because of the bug ordeal and we couldn't have any of our clothes for several hours due to bed bug treatment. Ugh.
Stayed in condos. Beautiful space, but a little far from the water parks. However, great shuttle service that gets you right where you need to be, door to door from the condo.
I emailed the following to the resort but have heard nothing back. The dining was the 1st issue. We had just arrived, went to the Klondike Kavern for a few hours and decided to eat at Klondike Pizza kitchen. We ordered at the counter and waited. We got one pizza and 3 drinks and paid $36. Staff did not bother to tell us about the special of 2 pizzas and 2 liters of soda for $21. We found out about that later when we saw something in our room about it. The food is insanely expensive and being told about a special would have been nice. We tried to dine at Mackinac tap and snack shack yesterday, were told they would not make fresh food and what they had made was all we could order. It was lunchtime. There was a cheeseburger with a wrapper that said Tuesday (it was Thursday). I asked about this and got a very lame excuse about why that wrapper was on the sandwich. Then, one of the workers was eating chicken strips behind the counter. That is a health inspection issue. We did not dine there. We tried to then go to Lake Wilderness Brat stand and everything we tried to order they were out of. Super annoying. I also want to mention most of the staff we encountered were rude, especially in the restaurants. Non English speaking staff will create a problem. This is our 3rd visit. I dont know if we will return. A definite sense of the staff not caring. The rooms are outdated and could use freshening up. The waterparks overall were fun and we had a good time. I feel that for the price that they are charging for food, the dining needs major improvements. Stacey Rudolph
If you or your kids love water parks. This is an absolute must!!! Four indoor and four outdoor waterprks included in the price of your stay. Staff was very helpful and kind. We brought our 7 year old boy and 13 year old daughter (and her friend) and fun was had by all... for 5 days! And we didn't even make it to Wilderness on the Lake. We went to Noah's ark one day, but the lines were so long that we only went on a few rides... then back to the Wilderness where there were no lines (in late June) for rides that we're just as good and a much better wave pool. Definitely going back!
Resort is beyond great!! It is super clean and staff are amazing. The food and atmosphere is terrfic. My family and I have been coming to this resort for the the last 7 years and never have been disappointed once. We are here now and sad to go home in a few days! 10\10 for sure!! 100%
I previously gave a one star rating, after a negative experience during our last visit. I am changing it now, because after I sent an email to voice my complaints, the general manager replied and was very generous in his efforts to make up for the issues. I highly recommend it if you are planning a trip to the Dells. Great selection of water park attractions, as well as other activities for guests of all ages. Great selection of rooms for any size group. Only resort guests are allowed on property, which means less wait for rides and makes it a very safe and secure place. My only complaint is about a server at the wild west restaurant. She is very rude and unprofessional, which she proved two years in a row. It's not an inexpensive place, so you deserve to be given better service than what she provided.
Big ! Big! Water park with alot to do. You should try if you are a water park enthusiasts like me, during the winter months. Alcoholic beverages are over priced so bring your own drinks Do not drink the water bottles already at your room. Not such a big bedroom.
This is a great place for everyone of all ages. There is so many things to do and not a place you will ever be board. The food here is great and at decent prices. The staff is great and makes sure that your stay is pleasent. The room are very nice and very clean. A place that I will make a vacation spot for me and my family
Wonderful place with the kids and one price makes life easier. Rooms have fridge, microwave, and some with stoves. So bring food and save money having some meals that way. Then go to the nice places just a few times.
Great overall: Beautiful property that is well kept, with a variety of indoor and outdoor waterparks, and therefore fantastic for children of all ages. Much to do for adults, as well.
Clean rooms and fun place to stay. The rooms are clean, but some are showing their age, but it seems like they're in a constant state of updates and improvements. We hosted all of the guests for our wedding here, and the reservations office was super accommodating to everyone and really helpful to make sure we were all near each other. We have stayed here a few times, and have never had a problem.
Winter review: great place to be midweek in the dead of winter. Plenty of rides and attractions for all ages. Lines are pretty long for the more intense slides on wknds so avoid wkdns if at all possible. The crowds are also pretty bad. Lastly, Chlorine levels are soooo intense. I couldn t swim more than 2 hours.
Food and beverages: drink prices are hilarious. Glad we brought our own to the condo. Food prices are also terrible, and for the quality, I have no idea why. No one comes here for food though so *shrug*.
Condo cabin: this is the way to go. So much space, comfortable, and cozy (fireplace for the win).
My kids love it here but the food are over price and nasty. I ordered three chicken tender combo and asked if i can have milk for the kids instead of fawken soda, the sevice says NO but they can have water!!!
Are you kidding me my kids dont drink SODA but wanted milk instead. This place needs to add on a kid's meal on the manual!!!
It's a very nice place for a family vacation, the place is huge and has alot of things to do to keep the kids busy. The only thing is the water is always too cold, I've been to alot of water parks and compared to the wilderness the wilderness is much colder all the time winter, summer ect.
Back to chicago very happy with the service of the resort, we are delighted with the place guaranteed fun will not last the day for so much variety that Wilderness resort offers. My family and friends are already planning a return.
It was a good location but we stayed in one of the large Wilderness cabins and it wasn't worth what was paid for. At check in they preach to you how it needs to be the same as when you got there or you lose your very large security deposit. So the seconded we walked into the cabin we starting walking around taking pictures and checking things. We saw a substantial piece of wallpaper missing over a door . Quite a few white oily scuffs on the wood, a broken lamp, the large acreen tv in the movie room was glitching out during the movie and a ceiling light in one of the bedrooms that didn't work. Long story short, not worth the money that was spent.
Would like a refund. I was charged more than initially told. I asked to speak to the manager 4 times. I guess that didn't matter because I didn't get loud, obnoxious and rude, because the manager never came out. I kept getting the same woman, who kept saying there's nothing she can do. Smdh. I was so excited about this trip for my fiance's bday and being over charged $120 made it the absolute worse, and knowing that I clearly was not worth the managers time no matter how many times I asked for them is just ridiculous. I'm very disappointed in this establishment.
Easy walk from place to place. Indoor/outdoor. Lots of indoor activities if you want to get out of the sun or come in the winter months. LOTS of waterslides!!
We come here every year with my moms side of the family. It's such an amazing place to be with family and friends. There are indoor and outdoor pools to enjoy all year round. Totally recommend this 7 pool resort
This is a super great place to go for a vacation! It's got a good restaurant and good pizza and lots of water parks! Rope climbing a ball area and more! I would recommend this to anyone!
It's a great place for family's or anyone trying to have a great time. It's fun any time of the year as the indoor water parks are even better than their outdoor. Water is always heated to perfect tempature and access to hot tubes in pretty much every water park. To top it all off their is multiple arcades with the main arcade holding a dry park for kids of all ages that has many fun inside activities to keep the kids having fun for hours while the adults can have fun playing arcade games such as skee ball or air hockey with reloadable cards that keep track of both credits and tickets. When done having fun you can head back to your hotel room in one of the many differnt hotels you can choose from in the wilderness resort. Overall a great place for both family's, small groups, or even someone who just wants to have fun for the weekend.
More to do here for all ages than any resort in the dells. The restaurants are all clean, fair priced, and well staffed. The place is clean and the customer service is nonstop from the second you walk out of your car. Up to date rooms as well. Great WiFi reception throughout the resort. They also don't sell tickets to everyone off the street which makes the parks and attractions not so packed. Awesome place.
Always have had a great time at the Wilderness. Only thing I would do differently is stay on main property in a condo. Was first time staying at the ones on the lake.
Had a great time visiting with out extended family there. The Hurricane was down for maintenance which was a big letdown. It is one of our favorites. We didn't find out until about 2 weeks before our trip, and were offered to reschedule, but with 7 families all coming together that wasn't really an option.
