The room we are staying in is very well furnished and clean. The water parks are plenty of fun and are not too busy. There were issues with the WiFi when we first arrived but that has been dealt with. Overall a very positive experience so far.

They have a giant jungle jim, 3 arcades, 4 water parks, go cart track, ropes course, lazer tag, blazer maze, mini golf, an escape room, and all of which were amazing, I loved this place, and would totaly come here again. Only down side is the sel service sucks big time.

Had some good family time here! I think for the enormous size of this place they do a very good job. I would differently give the lifeguard staff at the wave pool absolutely 5+ stars!!!!! Very professional! Several times the emergency stop button needed to be pressed to ensure the safety of a young child as one of them jumped in to take care of the situation. Very impressed indeed! Excellent job!

Wilderness is a wonderful place for families, couples, or for going alone. With four indoor waterparks, two full-size arcades, a go-cart track, ropes course, and mini golf course, there is an endless supply of fun.

Stayed here a few summers back. The place has a really fun vibe! The outdoor waterpark is great as well as the indoor! Rooms were fine, nothing too extravagant. Its what you would expect from basic lodging.

Worst place I have ever stayed at if you wanted to get to any water park you ought to walk a mile from your room The service was terrible The food was very expensive very expensive place to stay overcrowded well overcrowded couldn't even find a place to put your towels or your things at all everything was just crowded worst stay I've ever had anywhere Don't go here

Kids loved it. Each time I've been there one part of the park or another is closed. Which you never find out until you get there. Lots of construction going on. Water park is great though. Easy to get around from park to park.

Boring resort with no kid friendly activities or appeal (except ones that cost extra)! Stale, overpriced candy shop! Overpriced, blan food! Waterpark was FREEZING cold, couldn't stay more than a hour! Rooms new updates! No decor thru hotel, very disappointing!

Stayed at the Golf Course Cabins. #22 to be exact. It was a decent stay, however small things started to add up.

2 of the TV remote controls had dead batteries. The door handle from the master bedroom to the patio fell off when tried to open it. Screen door to the patio from the main door to patio was completely ripped at the bottom. Gas grill had 1 whole burner (middle one) that did not work. The counter where people eat was VERY uneven. The patio chairs had broken seats and arm rests. We found garbage from the previous renters everywhere (behind garbage can, under bed, in drawers / cabinets, dirty stove...). Light switches that turned nothing on (yes the key was in the slot). Again. Some pretty small things, but when you pay on average of $550 per night, we just kind of expected a little nicer place. Yes, we could have called maintenance to fix some of these issues. But, then we would have to sit there and wait for them to get there. We were there to play in the parks, so we just cleaned it up, made do with what we had and played in the water.

Good things....

Shuttles. The accessibility to the shuttles to get to and from (especially being in the far cabins) was made very easy for us.

Water park... even with COVID and some restrictions, it was not OVERLY packed. Yes, there were times when the lazy rivers got crowded, yes there were lines... but pretty much everyone gave distances and respected everyone's areas.

Cleanliness... we have been to many water parks. This was by far the cleanest one we have been to. Kudos.

Staff... super friendly from check in to check out. Shuttle drivers were just as great as life guards, just as grounds crew.

Scenery... some gorgeous views of the golf course and then some! I wish I brought my tripod for some SUPER night time shots along the golf course!

Rides... very good variety of lazy rivers and slides.

Tube availability... singles and doubles were EVERYWHERE!!!!! If you had to wait for a tube, you weren't looking very hard at all!

We did not eat at any food establishment on resort as we brought food with us. Hence the reason for a full size cabin.

Over all.... would we stay here again, absolutely yes! But most likely in a bigger cabin with more friends!

I have issues with properties that don't disclose fees upon booking. The resort fee which covers items that are for normal customary services at most hotels will keep me from coming again. Also about one half of there indoor water park was closed. This was also not mentioned upon booking. The heater in our room was loud enough that we couldn't use it. Not a bad property but could be much better.

We thought this was the best resort in the Dells and stay in the Dells every fall. This stay was strange. Half the park was closed for renovations. This included some restaurants and kiosks like the snow cone stand which my daughters really disliked. The first night they were only open until 10 but the next night they stayed open till 11 because they had more people. Then we had a Wilderness gift card but couldn't use it at half the places we tried including the pottery place on grounds. Typically go here ever year. Gonna consider other locations now.

Lots of great ideas here but the fact that everything is so separated makes things really frustrating to get around. Unavoidable but still frustrating. Also wish there were aspects of the park open later for adults.

A wonderful place to stay for families and friends. We were greeted by a really nice guest service named Audrey. She was just a delight, she explained to us and even recommended an Italian Restaurant across the resort called Sarentos. The housekeeping staff were also very hospitable and friendly. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. This place have almost everything from waterparks, arcades, restaurants and gift shops. Can t wait to go on our next vacay

My friend and I came with out 1 year olds thinking that this would be a fun mini vacation to take ever summer. While we did enjoy our stay it was because of the services of Wilderness. There are minimal accessible elevators/ramps to use when not navigating during the dead middle of the day. We went around and started walking at about 9am and there were elevators that were completely inaccessible due to certain activities being closed. While the activity not being ope. Was not a problem, not having signage in more than the pamphlet that state the hours of operation definitely was an issue. There also are no side walks that make a connection from building to building. So there were many times where we had to walk out small children in the parking lot to get around because there wasnt a way to get to elevators and carrying 2 one year olds with strollers up multiple flights of stairs is unreasonable as is expecting handicapped/children having guests to stay in until 11am. Also the phone in our room didnt work. At all. We called to inform guest services and when we came bacfrom playing our room had been cleaned up a bit but still the phone was broken.
There were a few things that make this review a 2 star. But we did enjoy ourselves because our children were not extremely hindered in experience by the inconveniences

Wilderness is by far the best resort in the Dells. Well worth how expensive it is. There really is no need to leave the resort. The great thing is, there are so many things for real little kids to do and the things for them to do is completely separated from the larger waterparks. I've been coming to the Dells for almost 40 years and the Wilderness is the best place to stay. The only reason for 4 stars versus 5 is because of the price. Staying during the week is pretty much the same price as the weekends.

Be sure to check for park and attraction closings before buying fun passes, etc. I went when ONLY Klondike Kavern and Wild Waterdome were open. Everything else was closed for the season or for cleaning (we know this when we booked it). It was enough to keep my kids (4&2) occupied for the 3 days we were there. Nice to go during the week when there were literally no lines whatsoever.

Absolutely disappointed with the Wilderness Hotel....

Absolutely disappointed with the Wilderness Hotel. I left an item behind (my fault). Check out time is 11:00am, we left at 10:35 and got on the road and realized I had left something behind. I immediately called the hotel at 10:54am, gave them my name and number and was told they were going to have someone check the room and would give me a call back. NOT ONE phone call! My wife also emailed their Lost & Found link and left details on exactly where the item was left in the room. Now mind you, this was before the required check out time, meaning Housekeeping would have been the only ones to enter the room, many hours before another guest would check in. My wife received a response to the lost and found email, apologizing for the "forgotten" item and they will see what they can do. That was it! No follow up phone call, no follow up emails. No concern whatsoever.
Its truly amazing to me that upon check in, the Wilderness has an employee basically get in your face to promote their new condos, offering package deals if you do the tour and they push you! But yet, they couldn't make the same effort to try and retrieve a lost item. All the money guests spend at hotel and this was the worst we were treated. Absolutely disgraceful customer service. Although the hotel is not responsible for lost items, since the hotel was notified prior to actual check out, since housekeeping would've been the only ones to enter the room, being that the item was NOT turned in, I have no choice but to believe, the item was stolen by a staff member. Obviously, I don't go around accusing people unless I witness it, but there is just no other reason why the item wasn't turned in, when it was in plain sight in the room. Very disheartening and makes you lose faith in people, especially when customer service is there to take care of customers. My wife sent 3 more emails regarding the matter and still, not ONE response. Not even an email or phone call asking us to describe in detail the item left behind. Almost as if they know, they failed their guests....Either no one alerted housekeeping at the time of the 1st initial phone call, or they have no explanation as to why their staff did not turn in the item. We have stayed at the Wilderness for over 10 years, Wilderness on the Lake, Glacier Canyon & the hotel. Maybe now we will take the recommendation of friends, and look into staying at Great Wolf Lodge. I bet their dedication to the guest is priority, as any business should do.

This is definitely a good place to be with kids. Plenty of things for kids and most of them can be enjoyed without even leaving the hotel. There are plenty of indoor and outdoor waterparks. The wave pool is a big one and one of the best. Staff is very professional and helpful. This place is huge. Go kart racing was fun. You can order food within the hotel.
Few reasons for one less star:
Room had moisture seeping from the room next to us and made the carpet there wet.
When we looked under the bed there were candy wrappers and toys left over from whoever stayed there before. There were mosquitoes in the hallway too. Some of these are out of the hotels control.
Having said this the feel in the room is great. All the furniture makes you feel you are in the wilderness. I will definitely stay here again.
FYI: Checkin at 4 pm was crazy. They had 5 associates checking people in and still there was a huge line. This place is big so allow plenty of time for check-in. Also don't take your luggage with you when you check in. Your room may be very far away and you will end up moving your car closer to your room.

A little pricey once tax and resort fee is added in and it's a little busy this time of year which means more rude people. You can watch them literaly take your chair, move your stuff, and they will look you in the eye and deny they did it. Water parks and indoor outdoor hot tubs are the bomb. Drinks are pricey, food a little high but overall good. They really take good care of the place. Always immaculate (6th time staying here, 6 the time going broke :))

Had a great time with my in laws, wife and 1 year old. Plenty for everyone to enjoy. A few slides for the adults and small stuff for my son. It was a great weekend. Park is clean and would go back.

My husband and I attended a little family get together here and all the kiddos loved it. I like how they have different areas for swimming, the arcade was fun for the kids and even the adults enjoyed the laser tag and go karts. Great environment for a family setting. Staff was always alert and friendly.

We have come to the Wilderness every year for the last 4+ years now. Always an amazing time. We love all the water parks and activities. Rooms are clean and comfortable. Parks are fun and safe. The Boom Boom burger is to die for. We will continue to come back every year!

Fantastic rooms...our last Wisconsin Dells experience was at the Kalahari, though, and we were more satisfied with their entertainment packages (such as ropes climbing, etc, beyond the water park)

I tested our room with an ATP Testing device and found the levels to be better than hospital grade cleanliness. I was really impressed that Wilderness was able to keep this level of cleanliness during this pandemic. Their safety measures for cleaning (especially using BioProtect) is absolutely keeping touch points safe in the hotel.

We stayed in the large condos. Nice space--there was no bedding for the pull-out couches, though, and it took almost 45 minutes to get the bedding to us. Not good when you want to go to bed!

BED BUGS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

BED BUGS BEWARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Check your rooms for BED BUGS!!! While staying at the Wilderness the weekend of Automotion, bed bugs were found in our room and the WILDNERNESS FAILED TO CALL AND ALERT US THEY HAD BEEN FOUND!!!!! Only after finding bites everywhere and bugs once arriving home, the Wilderness confirmed that they had found bed bugs in our room when we checked out!!! No phone call, nothing!! SHAME ON YOUR WILDERNESS FOR NOT HAVING THE COMMON COURTESY TO ALERT YOUR GUESTS OF THIS DISGUSTING PROBLEM!!!!! I did not receive an apology either! I understand you run the risk of having them while staying in a hotel, however; this problem could have been much better controlled had we been alerted to the issue the minute it was found! I will never stay at the Wilderness again!! Absolutely TERRIBLE customer service!!! Do not stay here, you will get bed bugs! I'm sure they had people in the room we were in the same week we found the bugs! Our room was not the only room with confirmed bed bugs!!! IM NOT SURE HOW YOU GET AWAY WITH NOT BEING REQUIRED TO REPORT THIS, BUT ITS BS!! BECAUSE OF YOUR FAILURE TO NOTIFY ANYBODY, OR PROPERLY CHECK YOUR ROOMS (BECAUSE IF YOU HAD, THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN FOUND AND THE ROOM WOULD HAVE BEEN CLOSED) I HAD TO MISS WORK, PAY FOR AN EXTERMINATOR, AND DEAL WITH THE MENTAL TRAUMA OF TRYING TO EVER LIVE IN MY HOME AGAIN KNOWING I BROUGHT THEM HOME!! ALL BECAUSE YOU DIDN'T BOTHER TO NOTIFY ANYBODY OF YOUR PROBLEM!!!

Not impressed I'd paid for a 20$ drink I had to run up a level to get it..I'd asked housekeeper to please leave fresh towels and new blankets as kids spilt cereal and to empty garbage that never got done I had a coupon for 10$in arcade money which they charged me for the pillows were hard as were the beds upon speaking to front desk nothing was done to resolve the problems

Water is a bit Over chlorinated, my skin is already dried out after one night, Beds are pretty firm so I've hardly slept, food is over priced, Could be a hit warmer in the waterparks. I recommend bringing your own food and lots of body lotion. There is alot of stuff to do for all ages. My 9 year old is having a good time.

If you want Covid, this is the place to come!

I called before booking to ask about additional covid procedures and was told they are doing extra cleaning, limiting contact, requiring masks while not in the water and practicing social distancing. While they do have signs on the entrances stating that masks are required and stickers on the floors for distancing, they do not enforce any of it.

30% of the families here wear masks as they walk the hallways, common areas, lobbies and store. No employee says anything to those unmasked. Management says they can t require it, even though they have signs on the door and told me by phone it is a requirement.

No one uses the stickers on the floor either. I understand this is harder to regulate, but lifeguards walk by regularly and could easily be reminding people to distance.

The practices I was told prior to booking were lies. For putting my family at risk I give them one star. If you don t want to wear mask, that s fine, but don t lie to me about it.

Not very happy with customer service there. They paid no attention to details to non peek season. Which, I thought was wrong seeing how they tried to charge full rates during winter times. Also did not offer a veteran's discount.

With so many different areas to explore, even when at capacity there is plenty of room for us to enjoy! Among our favorites are the wave pool, the lazy river and the arcade. Inside the wave pool there is an area for littler ones that have several slides, perfect for those not quite ready for the big waves! Breakfast buffet is plentiful and delicious!!

We go every year, and love the resort. It has something for everyone. It is also open to all guest at all locations as long as you're a guest which is great.

It's close and fun inside and outside.

Very fun place for the kids with great water parks. Only reason I gave 3 stars is for the poorly trained and rude staff. Even the manager was rude. I was accused of not paying for my stay because they were having problems on their end with their credit card machines. When I wanted to speak to the manager the staff was very rude to me! They called me room, woke my son and I up and made me walk back and forth to the lobby which was not close and I am pregnant! Then when they figured it out on their end and realized I wasn't the problem, no apologies, no nothing just plain RUDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Our family had a great time at wilderness. The water/air temp for most of the parks was warm enough for the season (we went in September). We had two 6 year olds on the trip and we all had a blast. My only complaints were these:

If you check in during the week, not all the parks are available for use and that wasn't made clear to us when booking.

The prices for alcoholic drinks are outrageous ($30 for one of their drinks alone).

Parking requires passes to ensure folks who are staying don't have to compete with non guests for spots, but this wasn't really enforced at all.

Some staff on the slides didn't follow protocol for weighing riders to ensure they meet the requirements. That is a bit dangerous.

Some staff were difficult to understand when they spoke.

Other than those nit picks, we really enjoyed our time there and will likely be going back!!

Great family fun! Our room was amazing. The kids loved the different water parks. Had lots for them to do. But was very disappointed when we had been here for 2 days road all the water slides. And on our 3rd day the lifeguard wouldn't let my neice on one of the slides. Said she wasn't tall enough, but yet both days before the the guards measured her and let her on. I think you best be making sure all the guards are on the same page. It was heart breaking to see the tears in my neices eye when she was told she couldn't go on. But all in all it was a great stay. And we will be back!
