Ate at the lounge it was the best food I'd had at a restaurant all month. I would certainly come back!
Wonderful, felt like I was transported to a European getaway.
Amazing hotel. Because it was a basic room and they upgraded us to an awesome theme room. The proximity to the mall and the water park make everything easy.
Such a beautiful hotel! All the rooms have jacuzzis and a great view of the city. We got a special promotion where we got 100$ per day of food at the restaurant, it was delicious!!!
Horrible internet and tv, I had nothing to do while I wasn t able to sleep at night and wasn t feeling well because the Internet was so horrible I couldn t even play on my phone or watch Netflix. Will NOT be coming here again.
Very nice venue. The food and service was good. Wasn't clear where the conference rooms were upon arrival but once found, everything was very well organized
I attended the New Years Eve gala at the fantasyland hotel. The price tag was 160$ plate. For that price tag, We shared a small table with 10 people with very little elbow room. There were no drinks included with the tickets, not even bubbly at the end of the night. Wine was 32$/bottle and up, champagne was 40-80/bottle (henkell trossen or mumms). Beer was 8$ bottle. The food came in 4 courses. Sweet potato soup was not bad, the salad presentation was ok, the chicken breast was bland, and the chocolate moose was a delight however it's hard to mess up chocolate moose. The tables were packed close enough together so passing people without interrupting the the meal, which were not timed to allow time to enjoy the show which was 1 retired circle de Soleil performer, a dance troop of kids from Sherwood park, and a couple of gymnasts. The silent auction had items that were not worth what was being asked and of no real Interest to most people. The music was by a wedding DJ who refused to take requests. So all things considered. 2 tickets +2 bottles of wine + 1 bottle of sparkling wine= 424$ before taxes. While I am not opposed to spending money for a good time, I expect a certain level of quality in presentation, service, and food. We could have gone to any keg/sawmill/Ruth's Chris steakhouse in the city, and gone to a show and a dance for far less and painted the town a much more brilliant red.
I would like to thank fantasy land hotel for accommodating my changes and would return for a family vacation, thanks Gregory for understanding the circumstances and accommodating us.
We attended a function in one of the ballrooms and it was fantastic.
Way over priced for casual stays but they offer a large variety of rooms for those sexy and special events with your partner. Wouldn't it be awesome if they had a Kingdom Hearts themed room? : D
I forgot how incredible this place is. If you're visiting and can afford an arm AND a leg, stay here a night!
There was a delay on our room but it was well worth it. It was clean and welcoming
It is nice. Good value when you consider the tickets to galaxyland.
The Roman room...is gorgeous and thank u to the woman who took the time to go over every room details with me on the phone when preparing this trip...we did not expect every detail of gold in the room including our garbage can and the details in our bathroom and hot tub....I rate this 5 stars because of the room and how quiet , clean it is here....you could just stay in the room and feel u are in a magical kingdom and u are the king and queen...and what great sleep we had so much privacy..the maids didn't bother us until we called to come clean up our room..and they were professional and friendly...we were so happy about that... u don't even have to go into the mall u just want to stay here and watch yourself lying in bed from the mirror ceiling.i couldn't believe the wall paper was gold with pieces of glitter in every millimeter....24 hour gym, mini casino, indoor ice skating rink, huge waterworld park, great selection of stores for shopping, good selection of bars and restaurants, movies, comedy and dinner show, amusement park and so much more..I love the decor and the creative layout in the mall ...u don't have to go anywhere in Edmonton this place is full of fun!!. This is the place u want to be..3 to 4 days to stay here is my recommendation ..a place for fun, romance or a family experience...I recommend u come here at least once in your life if you are visiting the west of Canada..but u have to stay in one of these special rooms..that is the experience u really want to have.
Would give more stars but the check in check out is horrendous. Took 40min to check out today, other than that the stay was good.
Friendly staff, super convenient to go to galaxy land and world water park. Look for deals as it's pricey
Was a guest for a wedding. The venue was beautiful, reception was great, and the food provided by the Fantasyland Hotel was excellent.
Hotel was very clean and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Although we didnt get a themed room it was still very fun. Plus the price and location you cannot beat! Will definatly be going back
I have been here twice with my family. The first time I stayed in the galaxy room and it was awesome, the theme was great. The second time I stayed in the western room and one again the room was decorated wonderfully. however when we went the second time the cots were very terrible and lumpy so my parents did not have a good sleep. When we told the front desk they basically told us that we were getting a good deal and that we shouldn't worry about it. TERRIBLE COSTUMER SERVICE.
Not impressed was offer 10 percent off my stay after I was disappointed in my room but never received discount
Great place to stay simply due to that it is part of West Edmonton mall. No complaints about the rooms themselves and the staff.
Great place! A little dated but the rooms were nice. We stayed in the Rome themed room. Loved the Jacuzzi tub in the room!
For a family of 4 we got 2 queen size beds. Lots of room to move around. I like this place for the convenience of being at the mall and not having to carry bags every where you go
We got the Polynesian theme room, it was beautiful & clean.
The bed was comparable to sleeping on a piece of wood, very very hard. Hardly slept.
The tub is AWESOME but be ready to spend 45-60 minutes filling it before you can get in. BUT, after all that time the water stayed hot so I was impressed with that.
We had the Do Not Disturb sign on our door, but it still didn t stop the maid from coming in at 9:45AM and seeing my naked body lol. Check out is noon, and I had the do not disturb on I m not sure what else I could have done? Could have gone without that..
Kind regards
Cool hotel, but getting old without sufficient renos. Two elevators broke and there were lines for the elevators (with up to 40 minute wait times)! There is not really an option to take the stairs either (which would have helped a lot). The hot water pipes whistle at times (so bring earplugs to sleep), which the staff didn't seem too concerned about, even when multiple rooms apparently complained. The kids loved it though and it is a great location. I really can't understand why there isn't a more youth friendly restaurant in this particular hotel though, being that the hotel hugely markets to families with young children, but there is absolutely everything in the mall, so nbd.
Vincent r, night staff completely useless should be at Walmart as a door greeter
Excellent stop for a family. Lots to do, keep the kids busy for a day or two.
The room was really clean, and comfortable. Check in was really quick as well. I LOVED the theme room and the jacuzzi in our room! Thank you to the hotel for making mine and my girlfriend s anniversary more special. We ll definitely be back.
I had an awesome experience there. We got such a nice room. And the mall was awesome! Loved the indoor theme park
Had an amazing experience! I had the Roman themed room and I'd have to say it was the best hotel room I've ever had. A bit expensive for edmonton but a overall cool experience. Worth it for a night or two.
Hotel itself is good but poor path between hotel and entrance. The 1.5' wide sidewalk is covered with grease from noisy fans, but walking on the road feels a little unsafe.
Our stay here was amazing! The space room was the coolest thing we've ever stayed in. And the staff were friendly too! I just wish that there was a very bright light in the washroom since it was hard to put makeup and contact lenses on. We noticed as well that the drain pipes had a problem too. When we drained our Jacuzzi the shower drain started to overflow. We had to wait a while to take a shower after - until someone in the room besides us took a shower and the drain overflowed again! We had to wait until the morning to shower. But other than that, everything else was fantastic!
Spend 2 days at fantasyland in two different luxury theme rooms and NEITHER of them had wifi. Asked the front desk if they could help me out because I'm paying like 350$-300$ a room but they just looked at me blankly and said "can't do anything sorry"
Sooo one of the most well known hotels in Canada can't even have it's own secure wifi? What am I paying for then ???
Alot of wasted money if you ask me. It was the first and LAST time I will ever be staying at this out dated hotel. Maybe CHANGE YOUR WEBSITE to " NO WIFI ONLY BAD MALL WIFI THAT DOES NOT ACTUALLY WORK FROM THE ROOMS. " instead of falsely advertising that you have it.
Honestly I was expecting more for such a big and widely known hotel. I was so excited to be in a theme room, but it was a little disappointing. The room itself looked nice and had a huge jacuzzi but you could tell the rooms were old and not updated - the pipes and everything creaked and made noise and you could hear a lot which wasn't enjoyable. It is in a prime location and does have a lot of parking which makes it nicer.
Wonderful stay! Staff were helpful, the room and facilities were clean and well run.
Terrible hotel would never recommend or stay again.
Theme suites are a fun touch especially for the kids.
Last time I stayed here service was horrible and room was dusty! This time we stayed here in the Hollywood deluxe room and it was pretty great. Was clean, service was much better and it was more enjoyable. Only 3 stars because it could have been better, I still don t like the deposit but they let us put down 250 instead which I understand and totally agree with, and there was hardly any wait time to check out.
We stayed at the fantasyland hotel to celebrate our 12th wedding Anniversary, we stayed in one of the Roman rooms and it was fabulous. The front desk ladies were amazing. The Room was beautiful we had asked for one of the special packages that the hotel offers. We got rose petals and sparkling wine with a gift basket. It was very beautiful and nice to enjoy some quiet time away for the night. Will definitely be going back.
We stayed at the at Fantasyland Hotel in the Roman themed room, and i absolutely loved it! It made me feel like i was in a gladiator movie. We were in the luxury rooms. The room was clean although it was a little unclean in the bathroom(there was some hairs on the ground) Their jacuzzi was huge, the downside was that it took alot of water to fill. Bit i still enjoyed it. We saw that the hotel provided other themes some of which looked like a 5 year olds room (like the truck themed rooms) im glad we went with the Rome themed room. Was so much fun.
I was impressed got Wi-Fi here and around mall too ! Made it nice to go back and forth to mall nice and convenient to be so close!
Stayed in a non-theme room. The carpet felt icky, there was no in-room microwave, the elevators are often full and you cannot use the stairs (except in an emergency, of course). However, there was plenty of space in the room for our family of 5 (and two of our kids are adult-size), the beds were comfortable, the noise was minimal despite the hotel being nearly full, the bartender at L1 was just the nicest guy, and housekeeping was pretty darn good, too: s/he made sure we always had 2 rolls of tp & six bath towels. Aah, the little things :)
West Edmonton mall
Themed rooms
Great
Rooms are extremely expensive the theme rooms are like $500 a night and not worth it
We are here for 3 nights, and upgraded our room to luxury theme room. They recently renovated, and it was very neat to stay in a theme room. They had a jacuzzi, pretty cool also. Beds were comfortable, bathroom was clean, TV worked, and nice view outside. I do have three complaints however, our room was freezing during the first night (we didn't have a chance to call room service yet) and the lack of a body mirror in the room was pretty upsetting. We come once a year to shop,(it's extremely hard to create cute outfits when there is no mirror to see full body) And lastly it was dim in our room too, so also hard to do make-up(we are short too so hard get close to mirror in bathroom+even of we got up on counter to do make-up light was flickering so much that it could cause seizures ) Over all I still love coming here! Great family trip, love to take in the sights, go swimming, and see movies!! Also the service at front desk was good, and cleaning crew was nice.
Well decorated, staff are friendly. Lunch buffet is good and price is very reasonable.
Can't say much about the rooms or services as I was there for work, but meeting rooms are nice and have some natural light
Wonderful stay as always! Beautiful hotel and exceptional service!
Great place to go stay a night or two! A little pricey though.
Stayed in the modern Malaysia theme room. Able to adjust temperature of room to comfortable setting. Spacious Room and very quite. Bed was very comfortable. The dinner theater package was reasonable and had a great time.
Room was fantastic, staff is friendly and helpful and room service at 1am was great I would come back again
You pay a premium for the experience. There are nicer accommodations for a lower price point, but it is an experience that isn't available elsewhere.
had a jacuzzi in the room. got asked on 2 occasions to keep it down, but how do you do that with a jacuzzi in the room? Also, had a giant bear in the room. Also, for whatever reason the elevators are 15-18 but what happened to 1-14???
Firstly we got there at about 5pm and our hotel room wasn't ready, we were offered complimentary water park day passes which was very nice of them. I was very happy with the service and the cleanliness of the room. Unfortunately I was disappointed to find out that this hotel for some reason blocks hdmi usage in there tv, we brought an xbox so we could watch Netflix and not awful hotel tv, I'm guessing they do this so more people buy movies which seems dirty to me. Secondly the bunk bed creaked like crazy when an 80lb child was on top of it, it sounded like it was going to break. Lastly it was a pain getting onto an elevator, they were super crowded during peak hours. Overall our stay was satisfactory but being such a highly rated hotel in would expect better.
This was a great hotel to stay at. The location was awesome and had very convenient access to the mall. I found the theme rooms to be interesting and a great treat for kids. That is why I plan to come back to this hotel one day with my kids. I would give it a higher rating but I found the service here to be very slow. The staff didn't seem to be in a hurry to provide services. I know they are busy with other stuff but they could work on their speed. I had been travelling for 20 hours before I arrived and was met with a huge lineup which was not a good first impression. I saw other guests complaining about this too and there was one guy that waited for half an hour.
The room was clean the staff was nice I didn't really have a problem with it at all. It was really relaxing.
The service was good and the atmosphere was relaxing
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here recently considering it s my first stay at a themed hotel room. The room was very clean & beautifully decorated. The only feedbacks I got are:
1. Keep the operating instructions for the jacuzzi simple. The one provided by the hotel was complicated & hard to understand. Had to get someone from the maintenance to assist.
2. There were no forks or spoon in the room which was inconvenient when I bought some food back in the room to enjoy it myself.
Apart from those feedbacks I had a great time staying here. Would love to be back here again in the future.
It is on the very pricey side, but the theme rooms are really fun. It s definitely someplace you want to visit once in your life at least. This hotel is booked usually far in advance so if you want to visit here I would definitely recommend try to make your bookings as early as possible.
We booked the igloo room for 2 nights. We requested a crib for both nights. They lets us check in, so we could let our 15 month old have a nap, but we had to take a different room, saved us $100 for that night. The first night the crib was brought to us within an hour of us getting in our room. The second night, our original room that we booked wasnt ready until after 6pm, checkin us at 4pm. We couldnt bring the crib from the first night up to our other room, they said it was "the floor crib". So we ended up asking gor a crib to be brought up to our room like 5 different times. Finally at 8:30 that night, (my son bedtime is 7-730) is when we finally got the crib. It was really nice for the convenience but that about it. Totally not worth the $$.
Horrible wifi, dirty beds, bathroom, and rooms, extremely outdated, and way over priced . Cant even use the wifi, loud in the hallways. Spent alot of good money here, but this was the last time. NOT worth it.
We stayed in truck room and space theme room. We fully enjoyed both rooms! The truck room is an older thene room but still great! The main bed is in the back of the truck. Our two teenage boys slept in the car theme bunk beds. There also was a double futon they could have used. As well there is a folding bed in front of truck with steering wheel. Suitable for short smaller children. There were as lights as well as a stret light for main part. Very neat. Only thing it could have used was a larger chair by window since there isn't much seating and more plugs. This is suitable for agile adults able to climb into the main bed. The space room was one of the newer rooms and amazing! With the bunk beds in pods and were huge, double or queen inside. Main bed looked like it floated. Cool egg chair. Completely adjustable lighting to whatever color you choose. Hot tub was also lit and had waterfall type jet. Neat. This room had tons of plugs! This room is also only for agile as it did not have steps to tub. Only thing it could use besides steps is a soap holder in bathroom. Staff were great. Discount Passes too for waterpaark and galaxyland etc. Loved our stay. Will go again.
Good location within the mall ! Nice hotel and good service !
Love the design but you have to be prepared to dish out the coin here. Hi end shops for sure
I was staying at the hotel for my bachelorette party! The staff was incredibly nice. The room was very clean. And the themes of the hallways were fun!
I love yhe location specially if you are traveling with kids as you can make different activities with them at the mall. Service is great.
The luxury igloo room is absolutely amazing. Best hotel stay ever!
Twas pretty neat. Stayed in Polynesian room. Felt like a tropical vacation. Walked around the mall. Watched some Sea Lions and shipped. Gotta go at least once
This was our first time to The West Edmonton Mall. We drove up from calgary with 10 friends for a two year olds birthday celebration. They were SO accomodating from the minute we arrived. The front desk staff was so prompt and friendly and great to deal with. The hotel is SO clean and I am in love with the decor. It is so cool how every floor is a different theme! I was in awe of the hallways and the rooms. We had the roman room which had a large circle bed and a massive jacuzzi tub. We loved the waterpark too, we spent all day there. I can't wait to come back!
Clean comfortable rooms and kind professional staff
First time in Edmonton and at the fantasyland hotel, and I definitely had a great stay! Amazing room (Roman themed) and amazing complimentary dinner at the L2 grill! Easy quick access to the mall and water park as well. The hotel is a little pricy but would definitely stay here again! Highly recommend!
Nice venue, good food, our room was nice, the ceiling was painted like the sky, very cool
Was a bridesmaid for a wedding the hotel was great! The staff really did everything we asked them for! It was great!
It was a really pleasant atmosphere and had friendly staff
Stayed in the Arctic Room. Kids loved the bunk beds and the themed jacuzzi tub was unique and a ton of fun! Attraction passes that came with this room made it an excellent "staycation"
Really enjoyed my stay there. Absolutely beautiful suites and I loved the themes. The staff at the concierge were super friendly and helpful too, despite how busy the lobby was.
Booked before covid restrictions were announced early November. The room I selected offered no option for cancellation but I booked as we required a room at the hotel. Now cases are at record highs with numerous deaths everyday and Fantasyland Hotel won't even allow a credit to be used at a future date. I get to forfeit what I paid and not use my room booking. All other rooms shows cancellation options but they happily took my money and have zero consideration for their customers or public health. Shame on your company for such a punitive policy and refusal to accommodate guests during these times.
