The hotel parking is not secure. I had 2 locked bikes stolen from my vehicle. Terrible service in response by front desk. A better hotel would at least try to make things better, not just shrug their shoulders. Disappointed. Room nice.

My 5 year old's review: "5 STARS, I loved the waterslides, I loved the way our room looks, even though I didn't use it, best birthday ever."
Was a great trip to celebrate my daughter's birthday.

Awoken before 7am with papers shoved under the door, so kindly went to the front desk to return them and was not happy after being disturbed. This was my first visit and last. ThemeRooms over priced for what s in them so will have our team book at the Marriott across from Shaw centre for our next conference.

I must say I was disappointed with their regular room my Mother in Law booked the hotel room for 2 queen size beds. Can I first say that the beds were very small queen bed, maybe closer to a double bed.... The curtains wouldn't shut all the way, which we didn't notice until late at night which we didn't bother calling for assistance as we were all tired and just wanted to sleep. The shower control was difficult to understand, it was kinda like get blasted with hot water or have no water pressure. kind of odd... There was also some random riding the elevators and getting off on what ever floor people picked.

Room says its for 4 adults but it was pretty cramped if I do say so myself.

Overall, disappointed with the overall experience, I have stayed in smaller hotels that have way better appeal and price.

I didn't really talk with any staff but i am sure they are accommodating.

I have mixed feelings about the hotel, I recently stayed in the modern polynesian room and absolutely loved the first room. We did however swap rooms through the stay and the second room wasn't up to par. Once brought up to management they went above and beyond my expectations to accommodate us! We also had the breakfast package in our stay and we were extremely unhappy with the food at L2, I wouldn't purchase the package again but that is not a fault of the hotel. Overall I think that the hotel is an excellent place to stay in west edmonton.

The room definitely was not what I expected.

The room definitely was not what I expected.
Booked the romantic package. Not worth the money
No fan for the bathroom shower
No blowdryer due to AHS restrictions (?)
Bed is extremely hard
No actual room service.
Doubt I'd stay in the roman room again

Purchased Family Package for 2 nights which came with in-room movie. No one explained (not online, not from reception, not from paper promotion or administrative when I called and asked first night of the stay) how much credit or how many movies included until the bill came out and they only took off ONLY 1 movie off a whole stay doesn t matter how long your stay is! This took us us by surprise upon the checkout, we watched 4 movies which costed $100 like half a year of unlimited Netflix, outrageous! Customer service was not helping, only explained when money were taken and not even feeling sorry. I felt this sort of stealthy of them. The place is awesome and family friendly as it has always been. But due to this falsely deal, we definitely won t come back and not recommended anyone with the deal .

Suites were nice. Much more affordable if you purchase a deal in the low season. Accompanying restaurant's food was so good! Convenient location inside a mall with plenty of nearby restaurants food court style and family restaurants.

Would prefer to have had the chance to give an honest review after a stay, but the stay never took place.
After taking my wife for an anniversary dinner and entertainment at The Rec Room on Saturday, upon returning to our driveway at 1:30am I asked her how she felt about waking up to no kids or dogs and perhaps room service for breakfast. She was obviously ecstatic, quickly went to pack a bag while I phoned your front desk. The agent I spoke to informed me that the only 2 rooms available were 2 theme rooms. However, she stated that given the hour, if I wanted to book, she could give me a great rate. I told her we'd be there in 15 min.
Now, I need to go back to 2016 for my last stay, as I reside in YEG I don't typically stay in hotels in town. But 3 years ago, I treated her to the stay in the Victorian Theme room if I recall correctly, for you guessed it, a very short, anniversary getaway. I believe that stay cost me somewhere in the neighborhood of $300-350. I figured well, I booked same day last time, add a bit for inflation, plus she can give me a great deal. Educated guess was around the same as I spent last time.
Big mistake on my part I guess. When I reached the front counter, after avoiding the pile of young adults loitering with your valet, and proceeded to check in, I was informed that my 7 hour slumber would cost me $500!!
I immediately refused, returned to my vehicle and opened Google to see the rooms advertised far cheaper.
The River Cree was very, very accommodating and at the same time, perturbed at how your front desk would attempt to gouge a resident who didn't need the service you provide, and who was able to be checked in with hot towels being delivered within 15 min of walking out your door.

Always a treat to come here. Best to get a themed room and stay with friends or family. Could be a bit pricey sometimes. Love that it's in the mall and you don't have to worry about driving anywhere after activities.

It was ok. The room itself is nice. Didnt like how theres no signs that says parking for hotel guests and theres not much close parking available unless your using theyre valet parking that i dont really like because i dont really trust other people driving my vehicle. On our way back to our room, there is a strong smell of cigarette smoke on the hallways, there seemed to be a few hotel parties going on which is ok, they werent as loud but the smoke isnt acceptable. Also didnt like how people are smoking at front entrance at night. Other than that, room is nice like i said, i like how its in the mall and staff were nice.

We stayed in the Roman theme room. The cleanliness and quality of the room was impressive. Although the price is quite high you definetly get what you pay for. Friendly Staff and great room service. Just a little on the pricey side. We had dinner at the l2 grill and it was exquisite, delicious food and a fun waiter, his English was a little rough but he made sure we had everything we needed as well as making it a fun dining experience. The only complaint I have is the cost of everything but again it's pretty much worth it. I'm

The staff were very accommodating and friendly! Our room was clean and the "out of this world" (space) theme was the best kind of kitsch. Only remark was that the rgb lights (super cool) didn't have green LEDs, so the full colour spectrum wasn't supported.

Service is always great and being attached to West Edmonton Mall the location is perfect for family holiday or for an extended business trip.

The hot tub didn't work, the front desk were kinda rude but the maintenance staff were very nice. Other then loud neighbors it was pretty nice, I loved the location, decoration, and it was a nice experience. I just wish they didn't make so many excuses, that would have made my stay a whole lot better... :]

We stayed in the Hollywood Luxury Theme room. Although the room was beautiful and the king bed and the jacuzzi were awesome, we thought our stay was overpriced and underwhelming. Our wifi didn't work for the entire 2 days we were there and when calling about it they told us that's apparently the norm for the corner room we were staying in but told me "our team is working on it" and never got resolved and didn't offer anything to rectify the situation. So we had to choose between using a personal hotspot for watching movies or watching the few channels the hotel had or paying $25 to rent something. We were also told in our confirmation email TWO days before our stay that attraction passes were offered at a discounted price if you went through the hotel. When we inquired about the waterpark passes they told us that they don't do that. That was super disappointing because that was one of the reasons why we chose to stay at that location. A lot of unfulfilled promises and nothing done about it.

We stayed 1 night in the african family theme room. Location is great if you want to explore WEM attractions like the waterpark, galaxy land, marine life, movie night (theatre), adventure golf and shopping. Their play away vacation package is really nice. Buffet breakfast is a plus having a lot of choices. The stand up shower is a bit small and carpet need some cleaning. Other than that we enjoyed our stay and maybe will try roman theme room the next time.

Fantasyland let us down we had no hot water making...

Fantasyland let us down we had no hot water making the jacuzzi on the Polynesian theme room 912 useless which was the only reason we paid for the room. They tried to move us to another room at 2am on the same floor but that had no hot water either so I assume the whole floor or maybe the whole hotel had no hot water we are not sure. One of the staff even admitted to me that this is a somewhat common problem sometimes so if hot water is important to your stay it sounds like a gamble to me or maybe just the 9th floor is a problem and the rest is fine so maybe ask to not stay on that floor. The big thing about this is I wanted to make this very special for the love of my life I paid extra for rose pedals around the jacuzzi etc I wanted her to feel special and I was not able to complete that task. If we had hot water it would of been a good stay but with the staff admitting the water problems just keep in mind that it's possible your Fantasyland experience may end up becoming a stale experience like ours was. The Hotel refunded our room service as we only purchased it for the jacuzzi which was nice because the food was subpar but the champagne was good but they did not discount our room. Even with the refund of room service I would of prefered a good experience then save a few bucks because the love of my life is worth it 100%

My husband and booked the Roman suite because it also had a jacuzzi that we wanted to use and we were both looking forward to it. Everything was ok until we filled up the jacuzzi and tried to turn it on. It didn t work; we called front desk and they sent a maintenance guy. When the maintenance guy came up to our room he was flipping all the switches to see which one would turn it on and we were helping him but it wasn t working then he asked if he can use the phone in our room. He calls front desk and says something about a bulb. My husband corrected him and said it s not the bulb it s the Jacuzzi were trying to turn on so then they said that we can switch rooms but by then it was almost 4 in the morning and we were just too tired to switch rooms and take our luggage to the other room so we said that s OK will just stay. The maintenance guy said that management would contact us in the morning. Which they never did. When we went to check out in the morning we asked them how come the Jacuzzi wasn t working, that s the reason why we booked a Jacuzzi room. The lady at the front desk said that on the notes they have nothing that says the jacuzzi not working, just the bulbs... huh? After an hour of trying to explain everything and going upstairs again with a maintenance guy ... he showed us how to use it ( the first guy had no clue there was instructions on some paper they had in the room so he said it was a bulb issue.) they should have sent the second maintenance guy when we needed it to be turned on and not when we were checking out. So there was really no bulb issue. They need to hire people that speak and understand English, and also have customers service skills. Even the manager had poor customer service. When I booked I wasn t sure why it was rated 3.5 stars. Now I know why.
Not booking with them again.
Waist of $300! Go somewhere else.

Loved the room I booked for a guys weekend. Was able to get a family room with a hot tub, and also have delivery service. Some of the rooms seem a tad outdated and need a refresh, but staff is professional and provide high quality service. Definitely one of my go-to hotels for a weekend getaway.

The front desk agent we had was not very friendly, he was quick and knowledgable but he didn't really smile and gave off an aggravated vibe during our check in process. The room was lovely, we came during the sale they had which was rooms for $150 a night, we were unable to get a theme room but we had a jacuzzi tub in the room which was a lot of fun. The room was clean, large and fresh. I was surprised they only had a regular coffee maker and not a kurig, there was not even a kettle in the room. There was no fitness center and the front desk only offered 1 pass to the mall waterpark, there were 3 of us. If I had paid full price for the room I would not have been satisfied with the extra amenities. I did not take advantage of room service but it was nice to see it is available until 2am. Overall an enjoyable stay.

Update to my review after receiving a free night in a them room we booked it for this weekend. Was told the space room was a queen size bed .. no way it is more like a double. When this was brought to the attention of the front staff I was told they were fully booked and nothing could be done. They offered us dinner for our inconvenience however due to the food poisoning me and my husband got from their restuarant on our last visit we declined . After talking it over we decided to try and make do with the room . After going to a restaurant on bourbon st flor dinner we returned to the room to find it sitting at almost 28 degrees. Called maintenance and was told they would get it delt with as soon as possible. Fine we told them we couldnt sit in the room due to the temp so went out side . This was at 9pm. At 1030 it still wasn't fixed that is when we decided we could Not make it work and decided to check out and come home. The nice young man at the front was very apologetic and even looked to see if there was a cancellation they could movie us to but there wasn't. Well I was standing there to check out 2 other people were down complaining about issues in their rooms as well. I can honestly say after trying this hotel twice STAY AWAY SAVE YOUR MONEY THERE ARE BETTER HOTELS IN THE WEST END OF EDMONTON..
ORGINAL POST......Was there this weekend. So sad . Had a horrible stay. Was there for my 40th birthday with my husband. Staff had an oh well attitude and I can honestly say this experience ruined my 40th birthday get away. :( dont stay here or plan anything special here.

Stayed one night in an executive king room and ate dinner at the L2 grill.

Room was clean. Bed was comfortable. Shower had excellent water pressure. Couldn't figure out the jets on the jacuzzi tub until after it was emptied.

We stayed here in the space themed room, super excited upon arrival, room appeared to be what we hoped for until the handle on the bathroom door wouldn t open or close the door well because it was super loose, shower handle was almost off to adjust hot to cold, the hot water handle for the hot tub was broken almost couldn t use the tub because I couldn t turn it on, the jets adjuster was broken off and just sitting on tub.

I am not at all impressed with this hotel.

These things should be kept up as regular maintenance given you are paying for a jacuzzi room.

What a horrible place. I booked a theme room through a travel agent for my anniversary. We show up and they tried to put us in a basic room with two queen beds. Despite showing our itinerary (which showed we prepaid almost $600 for two nights) they still took a while to figure it out.

We get to our room and the first thing we notice is the room is not designed like the pictures we were given. The room was small and the jacuzzi was hidden in a cubby hole in the corner. From the jacuzzi there was no view of anything except the fake volcano wall.

The shower was claustrophobic, with a leaking door. The sink drain stopper would not stay up on its own so the sink would not drain without holding the stopper. For almost $300 a night I expect better then 1 ply toilet paper.

Room service was good. Well, except for multiple hairs in my breakfast....

Our travel agent called the hotel and was told they would take care of everything. That was a blatant lie.

When we checked out we explained everything to the person and it was very clear that she was not interested in dealing with the issue. She didn't even offer to get the manager.

I will NEVER stay at this hotel again.

Unfortunately this is the only real hotel in the area but don't expect luxury at all. AC was broken and maintenance had to come and fix. TV is sooo slow. Remote had to be replaced. Bed is way too soft. Hotel is dirty throughout. Parking is gross. But it's inside the West Edmonton Mall so pick your battle.

Great hotel right attached to the West Edmonton Mall. The guest rooms are very cozy and roomy, they have very interesting theme rooms which would be great for family with young kids. Staff is very friendly. Also, a microwave is available upon request. So convenient to enjoy the water park and Galaxyland amusement park as you don't need to worry about any transportation arrangements.
