Wow! I can't believe the bad reviews that I'm reading. By the looks of the pictures it looks like a beautiful place to stay, but if the service is bad and they lie to you, then who wants to stay there? I've stayed at other Marriotts before and had a great experience. I feel bad for these people when they were celebrating special occasions and had to deal with lousy service.

First of all when we booked they said that they were full and would walk is to another hotel. That was not the truth. The air conditioning has know problems. For $600.00 a night that might have been something they might have mentioned. 4am More

Hotel was lovely. Food was great. My only complaint was that we had to eat at our work stations. There were tables in the room, but not enough to seat us all. It was nicer last year when they gave us a separate room to eat in that accommodated everyone.

I had Service at the Spa & it was an AWESOME experience!!! From the moment I arrived to Valet parking to check-in!!! I ABSOLUTELY give them 5 STARS!!! WELL DONE BY ALL!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND TO EVERYONE!!!

Grounds are amazing, food was amazing, spa service was great. Came on 4th of July to stay in a bed with 2 queens & when we walked into the room it had one bed. They had booked our room and given it to someone else. They had to relocate people to other hotels due to overbooking. They comped a dinner and gave Marriott points and got us our 2 bedroom the next day by downgrading someone else :/

My favorite romantic place we spend our anniversary almost every year! It was even more cozy during the blizzards that hit during our last few stays! The food is great! The rooms are newly renovated! The hotel is a fabulous combination of old world charm with contemorary upgrades! It's romantic and gorgeous!

A girlfriend get together in paradise! A reunion with college friends this past weekend was beyond amazing. The two bedroom suite overlooking the harbor provided plenty of sleeping space for 6 and a cozy living room with a spectacular view and fireplace gave us a great place to reminisce. Guest services made a few trips to our suite and were always prompt and courteous. A few of us were pampered with spa services that were performed by lovely estheticians in a relaxing zen atmosphere. And then there was the food! Fabulous cocktails and a wide selection of small bites and full size entrees made dining at Salt perfect for women with varied tastes and diets. All the dishes looked amazing, but I personally enjoyed a halibut dinner that I will keep talking about to anyone who will listen!! . Thank you Wentworth team - from the concierge s infectious smile to the Chef s creative menu - you all made our weekend away from demanding careers and families simply divine!

My fiance Steven and I reserved a room for a few nights before and during our wedding. We got married on the beautiful grounds on Friday 5/8/20.. Because of Covid, we were onky allowed 10 people total to attend. They not only upgraded our suite to a waterfront condo suite, but they also offered us a complimentary bottle of Champagne!! They even gave us all extra glasses for the wedding toast. They have amazing accommodations and the customer service is excellent. Jason and Alex made our stay one of the most rememberable moments. Laurie, the hotel site planner was super fun and professional as she showed us around the hotel and grounds. They granted us permission to get married anywhere we wanted to. :)
I highly recommend the marina suites! They were very roomy, beautiful and gave us an amazing view of the water with an outdoor balcony.
The staff is courteous and accomedating. We were very pleased with our stay. I give them 10 stars and I highly recommend!
Thank you so much Wentworth By the Sea for making my wedding day happen despite Corvid-19.
Sincerely,
Mr. & Mrs. Lemay

This is a lovely hotel for a quiet weekend away. Having a fireplace in the room felt like a huge luxury, as did the anniversary surprise the staff left for us.
When I tore myself away from the beautiful room, it was great to be near good hikes, hip restaurants and cute shops in town.
Good service, good food and probably my 2nd favorite Marriott in the US (I've stayed in tons).

I am reviewing their Sunday Brunch Buffet of which we have become regulars. Great Value for money and their raw bar seafood is the cherry over the top. Great service and food. It also helps that the champagne keeps coming. Best to reserve ahead of time as it is pretty full. Just wish the dining hall had a better view.

A very classy resort. If you are traveling up or down the east coast, looking for a weekend getaway, or looking for a nice place for lunch or brunch this is the place. It takes you back a to a bygone era of the gilded age where grand hotels like this were common place. The history of the hotel is also exciting, the Treaty of Portsmouth was signed here ending the Russo-Japanese war.

We came to the Wentworth the night of our wedding ...

We came to the Wentworth the night of our wedding and we were extremely disappointed with our stay. Our hotel room was booked last minute by my mother in law as we had planned on going home but because of some house renovations it became apparent to us that we needed to go to a hotel. Although it was booked the day before we made sure to call ahead and confirm our reservation and make sure they knew we were coming for our wedding night. They lady on the phone assured us that they indeed had our reservation and noted we would be coming after our wedding. The hotel is seriously lacking in quality staff. It took us over a half an hour to get into our room as they couldn t seem to find our reservation. It seems that the last and first name got switched. The whole time of check in I was completely stressed thinking we would have to try and find another place to stay at 11:30pm at night in my wedding dress. After they finally found our reservation the bellman took our bags up to our room and we waited a bit in the lobby so that when we went up we could have some privacy and do the whole carry across the threshold thing. After we waited a while for things to get settled we went up to our room and the bellman hadn t unloaded one bag and we ended up helping him unload it from the cart. What was he doing that whole time.. I have no idea. The room was not thoroughly cleaned and we found someone s broken ring siting right next to the tv in plain sight. In the morning I practically had to beg the front desk staff to give us late check out, which they finally did after getting denied once and asking again. No special touches by the hotel when we got in our room. A simple card to congratulate us would have made a big difference, but nothing. It seems that on the most important hotel stay of your life you should get some type of special treatment or at least good service but we barely got a congratulations from any of the staff! With the price tag of $600 for our 1 nights stay I was beyond extremely disappointed. Would never recommend the Wentworth to anyone after this experience.

Hotel was good until later evening. Music was blaring and I called the front desk at 10:15 to ask about it because I was trying to go to bed. I was told sorry, but the bar was having an event until 11 and the music wouldn't be shut off until then. Absolutely no consideration for other guests who were staying at the hotel.

I was here for a wedding! The food was awesome and the staff was friendly. However, with that said, the staff needs a lot of training. As they served order hors d'oeuvres they didn't announce what they had until someone asked them what is it and when served at the tables, the staff seemed a little aggressive and at one point they even reached across someone's face to get a plate. We also had someone that was allergic to nuts and her salad had plenty of it!!! That could have been dangerous. Overall it's a nice location with really great food.

Elegant and fancy but oh so delicious. Pricey, but really worth it. The brunch buffet has everything you can imagine from steak to seafood...from an omlette station to a desert section which includes glueten free selections. Everyone must try at least once. All you can drink mimosas included in the price. Breathtaking ocean views and the hotel is just gorgeous.

I have loved this place for many many years, from when it was at its peak to when it was at its worse and back up again. I'm so glad this place was not demolished and that someone had the foresight to buy it and restore it. Today I went with a friend for a drink at the bar. Service was excellent, the surroundings are lovely, the drinks were good and the charcuterie appetizer we shared was an interesting mix of cold cuts and cheeses along with some nuts and dates. And it was quiet. I hate noisy restaurants and bars where you can't have a decent conversation with the person you are with. We were there early but it did start to fill up well before we left and the noise level still remained low. This is a lovely, romantic place and I highly recommend it.

Wonderful historic hotel. The rooms are luxurious, the beds are dreamy and the views are nothing short of spectacular. There are two pools, an adults only jacuzzi (yessss) and everything is very well maintained. The service at breakfast left a little to be desired but the buffet if you shell out the extra money is worth every cent.

So beautiful. Stopped here for lunch during a drive up the NH seacoast. The hotel is grand and exquisite. Order the fig salad, lobster bisque and chicken sandwich, all of which was very good. Would love to stay here one night; perhaps in a turret suite.

Checked in tonight & not impressed. I understand during these Covid-19 times things aren't normal but many places such as the blue inn at plum island make it a priority to keep they're guests happy with simple requests.

Went to my cousin's wedding reception. It was great, until one of our family members showed up drunk and ruined the open bar for almost all who were there. Thankfully that family member left and the staff apologized for the inconvenience.

Lovely oasis in New Hampshire. Room and resort were very nice and in a beautfiul, breezy, beachy area. Hotel restaurant was excellent but incredibly slow. Like waiting a full hour for your food slow. But the best and biggest lobster salad we've ever enjoyed. The pool is smallish and it's very hard to find seats. Too hard. Topper was the fire alarm that went off at 4:00am on July 5th. Not the hotel's fault (i hope!) but they should have at least offered us coffee when the evacuation was over.

Nice

Staff was not friendly ! We couldnt get in for dinner until 9:00. Who knew u needed to reservations! They never told me that when i booked the room. Found out later that it was open to the public. We did get in after 9 took one hour to get the food. Food was nasty, way over priced. No one asked how our meal was or even if we needed anything else.Having said that never again. One good note was the door man was awesome .He made the stay worth the visit
