I love it there staff is pleasant and buffet breakfast is great a must do on anyone's list
Impeccable grand hotel on the ocean. It's beautiful!! I loved it. It has a yacht club and a golf course. It's a dream come true.
Beautiful historic hotel by the sea. This is second time we have stayed and sadly the last. The service doesn't measure up to the beautiful property. It was just a lot of small inconveniences that added up.
Went to Sunday Brunch Buffett. Spread was great. Many different varieties of breakfast items to choose from. Raw bar with shrimps and oysters, omlet station and unlimited mimosas. Live much was a nice touch. Only complaint is we made reservations well in advanced and they wanted to sit us in the other room away from all the activity. They had open tables in the common area that they moved us to. Pricey for two people but a great experience if you go once a year.
A true historical treasure which was renovated by Marriott. I had lunch at Salt and stopped by for hot tea service on another day. Beautifully appointed furnishings, decor and grounds that harkens back to a bygone era. Even if you're not staying at the hotel this is a must-see and a lovely place to visit.
My wife, son and I enjoyed a wonderful stay at this elegant hotel & spa. We opted for a two-level Marina Suite, and enjoyed every minute! The grounds are beautifully manicured and the facilities are all updated and very clean. Unlike many places we've experienced on the Cape, the staff are attentive, efficient & very friendly. They actually make you feel welcome and appreciative of your patronage.
The resort is also pet-friendly, which is a major plus for us. There is even an outdoor dining area by Latitudes Restaurant where you can dine along with your pet! While you can enjoy fine dining in the main building and by the marina, very inexpensive breakfast and lunch options are also available a short walk down the marina boardwalk.
Though associated with the Marriott group, Wentworth has its own feeling & flair, somewhat like the Ritz Carlton properties. IMO, unlike the Ritz, the atmosphere is completely unpretentious. Another bonus is the resort's proximity to beautiful Portsmouth and the outlet stores in Kittery, both of which are only a few minutes drive north. Bottom line: go there!
Wentworth by the sea is a premier property one of the most beautiful understated traditional properties on the entire East coast beautifully redesigned over 20 years ago every room as well executed everything is just beautifully laid out the staff is very efficient and health conscious the properties of dream to run to walk to just look up and it admired beauty the perfect stay for a loving couple or a business man alike they'll reopen to fill capacity I would say within 2 months but a very professional staff led by Jason and Justin and the other associates never say no to any request they do the what they can to help you out under his trying times it should definitely be on everybody's wish list as a place to go to see a beautiful stately property
We stayed in the marina suites for a girls weekend and they are FABULOUS!
Was there for a formal event, and everything was perfect! The staff was great, and the bartender for our event did the best he could to make everyone a drink they would like with his little mobile bar stand.
Was very cool to check out. Everybody was very polite. Very classy place. Great location. Highly recommend
I ate a burger and ravioli. The burger was okay, but not as good as the price would suggest (a little charred) the ravioli was excellent and the service was pleasant and swift.
This is always been an extremely nice place to go to.a lot of people don't realize that the hotel originally was probably two and a half times the size it is now.at one time I would say it was probably larger than the Mount Washington but they did a lot of renovations and tore down probably two-thirds of the structure.they have a very nice dining room their prices are fairly expensive but I mean it's good quality food so I expect that. The rooms themselves a very spacious very nice you got granite and such in the bathrooms.the room prices are really quite high it would be a place I'd stay at more often if they were little more reasonable. Generally they're over $300 a night and that's pretty steep. They do have an excellent holiday brunch during the holidays.I would recommend actually calling to make reservations in late October because they fill up a really fast. The brunch will run you about 50 to $60 per person, but it's very nice. The kids will see Santa as well.
First class experience! For my grandmothers 92nd birthday all she wanted was to get her first massage so all of the ladies in the family took her to Wentworth by the Sea..and it did not disappoint. There were a bunch of us but booking and scheduling all of our treatments was seamless thanks to Debbie who coordinated everything! From the moment we walked in they were so lovely to my grandmother- making her feel special the entire day. Everybody at the spa knew it was her birthday and came up to her! The spa services were fantastic- I get pretty regular massages but this one was by far one of the best. My grandmother s massage was fabulous and she commented the therapist had magic hands! . As a spa guest you receive lockers, robes and flip flops, there is a waiting tea room, steam room, whirlpool the works! From start to finish this spa was perfect and I would recommend it to anybody!
The hotel is gorgeous, a lovely stay. The customer service is lacking, especially from the reservations manager. I made a reservation, mistakenly for a night-of stay (meant to reserve the night after), and when I called to try to talk to someone about any chance of a refund (I rebooked for the correct night, and stayed), which I thought unlikely in any case, I received monotonous, extremely unfriendly, canned responses from the manager. Interestingly all of the support staff had been super friendly up until then, commiserating about my mistake, saying they would see what they could do, and I was extremely apologetic and friendly throughout. I should also note that the hotel wasn t booked, so I didn t take anyone s room from them. Lesson here is - don t make the mistake in the first place, of course, but don t expect sympathy for being a human if you do. I m sure Elena from reservations has lived a faultless life with no mistakes. I m actually not even all that upset she didn t refund me - the mistake was mine and I m sure Marriott has some sort of corporate policy - but a little human kindness goes a very long way, especially when someone feels like an idiot, and I received none from Elena.
Insanely busy.
They closed almost all the amenities because of COVid 19, but they didn t restrict the rooms available. The place is extremely busy, with a full pool and no place to stay. Wait more than 3h for a chair in the pool, that Was packed.
The worst experience ever.
The food was great and the rooms are nice and comfortable.
I went to lunch at SALT. The food was great, so was the ambience
We weren't there for an overnight stay or event, but instead dropped in to see what history remained of the Portsmouth Treaty of 1905, in which hotel the emmisaries from Russia and Japan stayed. The concierge was happy to show us that the hotel does have a great cabinet full of historical artifacts as well as a nice poster outlining the various places and events involved in the signing. We had a great time exploring this historic hotel and the lovely seaside grounds.
Did not stay at the hotel. Did have a meal and drinks at the bar. What a great bartender Dan was. So professional and and kind.
Our stay was great. The stuff are very friendly. The location is great, short ride to downtown Portsmouth.
We celebrated our first wedding anniversary yesterday with a wonderful cocktail at the bar. We got married on July 2nd in 2016 at the Wentworth. The drinks were good, although we would have liked to get a card or a voucher for drinks to come back for our anniversary. Nonetheless, it's a beautiful hotel and the staff does a wonderful job
Nice hotel. Restaurant needs a little more real people good. Guest rep seemed a little avoid with questions.
Rooms could be a little bit better, but still really nice... Nice peaceful location, well maintained. Kinda wish we had the waiter giving out free breakfast cards, so we had to find our lost waiter and pay... Other than that, we would stay there again.
Nice rooms with heated marble floors in bathrooms but not worth the high price
I was there for a wedding and the hotel did an amazing job with food and putting it together
Wonderful customer service, nice room, heated floors in bathroom. Sarah in catering did a super job.
A wonderful leisurely lunch with the best lobster roll we have ever had.
Nice facility, great staff for the wedding we attended. Food was ok.
My wife and I had a one night getaway on March and it was amazing.. Rooms were elegant, but not overstated and food, facilities and the staff and service were exceptional .
Vey nice and old world charm kind of hotel.
Amenities were awsome and breakfast was nothing short of 5 stars. There is a restaurant and a cafe on property which is a short stroll and along the beach. We loved the privacy and out of sight feel of this hotel. A gem
Awesome staff. Very friendly and helpful. Had an amazing room with views out three different windows.
Went for a wedding and the bars they setup in doors are cash only. They could at least try for such an expensive place. Money can buy a nice place but it can't reach someone to deliver a quality experience.
Haven't stayed here but I would like to. They have great views and I think it's a historical building. There is alot of good restaurants and things to do in the Portsmouth area. Everyone I talked to about this place had a great time.
Elegant atmosphere, friendly service, and delicious food
Beautiful location and building. Staff was very polite and attentive.
The hotel was gorgeous inside and out with a spectacular view, and all of the staff was exceptionally courteous.
You do not get what you pay for. $500/night you should get the best! You just get the illusion. You get buyer's remorse
Excellent food, service and ambiance a terrific experience! !!!!!!
We went to the illumination celebration. Really well done.
Food was good, service was good, event was a blast. And prices are reasonable
Beautiful hotel and wonderful restaurant and events!
Absolutely unbelievable. Amazing place, amazing food and bar keeps. The room for charming and bed was very comfortable. The Christmas decor was insane, classic, and downright whimsical. I would stay here again in a heartbeat!
Spectacular location year round. Excellent food, service and views.
Enjoyed the restaurant week menu, but tolerated the B squad service
The Wentworth was once an excellent destination, focused on customer service and hospitality. Unfortunately, since the change in ownership, customer service is non existent. The spa services and restaurant food are still top notch. The wait staff are mostly grumpy and lack luster, however. I recommend looking elsewhere for a stay if you want a special experience. Try the cliff house spa or Westin Boston if you want a great getaway.
Ate at restaurant SALT!!! EXCELLENT AND BEAUTIFUL HOTEL
A beautiful resort hotel with excellent restaurants! Never dissapoints!!
Great staff and clean rooms. The grounds are beautifully kept. We really enjoyed the pool area and walking around the marina.
Great good, fantastic service. Real nice atmosphere at the hotel.
Nice clean rooms. However can be very loud at night with people in the hallway
This historic place is not only redone magnificently but also has a very cool updated bar
Had a lovely Easter Brunch with family and friends. The mimosa's were super delicious. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Loved seeing the Easter bunny around to take pictures with the little ones as well. This was my first time here, I would definitely love to return next year.
Updated Historic Hotel. Great ocean and harbor view.
Great staff, clean rooms with fantastic views of the water. Such an amazing experience!
The food was amazing and the wait staff is also great
Slow service and crowded. Decent food. Very pretty though.
This place is incredible.... the food sets a bar very high... this is NOT hotel food. Recently, attended an event here and the food was spectacular... a chowder bar is not something you see everyday.... but after you try it, you will WANT to. Delicious and truly above average food. On top of that, beautiful rooms with gorgeous views and the staff.... helpful and they know customer service... and go above and beyond that!
A typical New England resort, you don t get much for the money. The room was very small and although the bathroom was adequate, it was oddly arranged. The refrigerator was the size of a small microwave. The grounds were attractive. The doorman was VERY helpful and pleasant. The woman who checked me in was not very friendly, but the other employees were fine. We ate at the restaurant by the pool and the restaurant inside. The food was good but the staff was a little inexperienced. Mostly, I was disappointed in the cost in relation to the size of the room. The photos online boast something much larger with more amenities.
This is the place to go. Historical hotel in New Castle, NH opened in the 1800's and was the place to be for socialites and politicians. Many grand events were held here and still are. The atmosphere is warm, cozy and elegant. The food and cocktails are well done. Definitely a place to stay or just visit. Now owned by Marriott.
The hotel is nice, but not a real resort. And it's not really by the sea as the name implies.
Overall a nice stay with a good spa. My one complaint is breakfast. They offer both a buffet and menu in the restaurant, but are completely unprepared to serve either. Two days in a row we struggled to be seated and get waited on. They have tons of servers milling around, but they are mismanaged and helpless. They don't know who they're waiting on and can't answer simple questions about the food or drink offerings, and the buffet rules are too complicated to enforce so they just make up what they put on your check. The manager is visible and comped our second breakfast, but didn't seem interested in solving the cause of the issue. Simplify. Train. Communicate.
Fine hotel with well appointed room and restaurant with great food. Very relaxed.
