When I saw the reviews on Internet I said wao this place will be awesome. But the cover is expensive and the three stages were so empty, the bartender are rude, the DJ's was OK... Judge by yourself!

Used to come here on Thursdays to party in the 10's. Now I use it as a venue. Saw Kyle Dion last night. Of course he was amazing. Saw Xavier Omar.OF COURSE HE KILLED IT. I was especially pleased with the gender neutral bathroom and organized electronic coat check. It was just dope.

My cousin and I went to see Chase Atlantic at Webster Hall, and it was great! It was a sold out show, so it was expected to be crowded which was fine. In the beginning, staff was very helpful and great. However, leaving the venue we were trying to get a quick picture of the sold out sign above the entrance and were told to "keep it moving" so we really didn't get a great shot leaving the show. I guess it's understandable considering you have a few hundred all trying to exit the same place, but still. Would have only taken a second.. anyhow, all in all, it was a great show and we really enjoyed seeing the band. Would definitely go again!!

This place has some great shows... Too bad the staff is lackluster and no one can make a decent drink. They are strong but disgusting. Inside you'll find 3 floors of music and people of all takes meandering through the sea of dancers, drinkers, and socializers. Typically each floor hosts a different event, but there are regularly full 3 floor shows which culminate in the main act on the top floor. The space is large but CA be a pain to leave when the mass exodus happens after the show. That said, it's a venue to party so the appeal is understood. Go ready to party!

Anachronism is superb. The venue is pretty cool, and I've read reviews saying the events themselves are somewhat variable, Anachronism is worth going out of your way for, when it's on: cyberpunk heaven!

It's an event venue - the quality of your experience is tied to the quality of the event. As far as the venue itself goes, the acoustics are acceptable (not bad, but won't blow you away), and sight lines are decent.

The Studio (actually the basement) at Webster Hall is an excellent music venue. It's a very small space and the sound is tremendous. Bartender's are friendly and efficient. Bathrooms are relatively sanitary. Not sure what else you could ask for in a basement.

Definitely a place for the younger crowd! Always have a good time coming here. Great variety also. They always seem to have multiple parties going on at once. I would not suggest anyone over 29 coming here. Its a wild party scene usually. The older people i see coming here usually look offended, stuck up and uptight.

It's been around forever. Cool place to meet up with friends and dance. Time to renovate but I take it no one minds its a tad dingy.
Huge concerts are held here and there is really no dancing going on.
The bar tenders do their job and are efficient to bring over a drink and keep the lines short.
Plenty of room to crowd in tons of people. The bathrooms are coed, toilet stalls are closed but everyone shares the sink and mirrors.

The coat check is an absolute joke. $7 per item. The line to pick up your coat after any gig is easily an hour. The gig we went to was amazing but it could have been anywhere in Manhattan. You guys deliberately have no clue about crowd management.

THIS PLACE SHOULD BE PERMANENTLY CLOSED DOWN! The security there assaults the performers, and audience and beats them up and leaves them in the hospital. I will never go here and I hope nobody schedules another event here again.. Security is supposed to protect people not choke them, or kick them around or punch them. I'm sorry but if I could I would rate this place 0/5 stars... I am very disgusted with this place and everyone who works there. This place is terrible and tonight's show with Skate proved it. It was a mess. The fact that the security was both physically and verbally assaulting not only the fans but also the performers is just disgusting!

Great venue with multiple rooms and nice vintage look. Great spot to catch artists before they become huge. Their program varies between many genres. Sound and lights are very on point. Staff is pleasant and bar prices are fair. If you're in main room and it's crowded, you'll probably wait for a while to get served, but it's kinda understandable. If you're going here for a concert, get early. There is only one coat check for the entire establishment, so you'll wait in line longer if you come later. Also it gets more expensive later.

So, Webster Hall. I've been here over a dozen times at this point and it is really hit-or-miss. It all depends on why you're coming here, what your expectations are, and what your style is. If you're coming to see a band or artist perform in the main stage area (the Grand Ballroom), then you should be good, in general. The sound is good, the lights are nice and bright, and there's plenty of room to stand assuming it's not sold out. All other times, place is a crapshoot. If you're trashy or bro-y, this place is perfect for you. The crowds are simply rude, mostly unattractive, and are there for seemingly no other reason than they have to be out on a Friday or Saturday night. If you're looking to dance, there are smaller rooms throughout the venue that have their own thing going (90s night is fun and if you like hip-hop, downstairs is pretty dope) but for the most part, people there don't give a crap about the music. Seeing a famous DJ upstairs? Expect phones constantly taking pictures/videos and people uncomfortably pushing and being annoying. Stay there long enough and you'll see people nearly unconscious from the drugs/alcohol they have ingested. Drinks are super expensive, coat check is $4 before 10 pm and $6 after 10 pm. Downstairs bathrooms are emptier than the one upstairs.

None of these issues crop up on regular show weeknights, but if you mix in with the club crowd (after 10 pm weekends mostly), expect to leave in disgust.

Concert ended at 3am. Waited in coat check line too 5:30am when they told us it would be another hour wait or we could just come back in the morning for our coats. I left without it even though it was freezing out. Also the coat check was $7 per item.

I feel bad for all of the disappointed clubbers, as this is an awesome venue for a rock show. Standard stuff--staff is great. Matt and Samantha at the desk are cool as hell, and the dudes at the door are always quick and professional. Sound is always awesome, the venue is killer, and they get great acts. AND, they are NOT a Ticketmaster or AXS affiliated venue. I don't mind giving ticketweb my fees. Five stars!

Love how there are multiple floors. The basement (...

Love how there are multiple floors. The basement (which can get a bit hot and sweaty) has Hip Hop and Dancehall, the main floor had 80s or Top 40, the main huge performance dance space plays diff music depending on the night, and even once I went to the upper balcony and found a small side room of Latin music! People spinning around to salsa in this small space lol. So basically, 4 levels of good times.

Also, this brought a mixed crowd, something for everyone, and people of all backgrounds get in no problem. Everyone just kinda scatters to their designated floor based on the music they wanna listen to and/or dance to.

Bonus: There's a pizza shop inside! On the far wall of the main floor. Like, what? So just in case the liquor has gotten you hungry, you don't have to go scavenging for food at 4am (or freezing your chops off eating cart food).

Double Bonus: They had 18+ night Thursdays for the NYU students (or anyone) who couldn't get in anywhere else without a 21+ ID, (although girls have said 40+ yr old men have come lurking on those nights - Ew).

Triple Bonus: They also had at one time online guestlist sign up. You put your name in, print out the ticket, bring it early and get right in. You also got free vodka drinks for 2 hours, but of course they were a bit watered down haha. They don't want people blacking out everywhere before the crowd even gets packed lol.

Webster Hall is very spacious concert hall/event space. It has a standing room lower level and a seated VIP section up top. The selection of concert performers here is good. In my experience everyone is friendly from the security at the door to the waitresses taking your order. I always have a good time here.

Webster Hall is not my favorite venue. Their redeeming quality is that they get good artists consistently. Having said that, the sound system leaves a lot to be desired, and it gets so crowded you literally can not move in any part of the venue. Not for the crowd-averse.

I try to avoid this place when i can. Everything about this place screams poor service and scammers. One bartender gave me a large drink and charged me extra, sipped it and there was hardly any alcohol - definitely tried to scam.

I wish I could rate this 0, but unfortunately I can not. What I experienced last night at Webster Hall is something that I never want myself nor anyone else to ever have to experience. I witnessed an almost sold out show of people screaming & crying because they were afraid they were going to be tased and beat up by security for no reason like they were to Skate Maloley & his crew. I saw with my own eyes security guards punching, choking, kicking, tasing, and throwing people down to the ground for no reason yesterday night. Fans and the performers left that venue with cuts, bruises, and hospital visits, some even passing out or potentially being in a coma. Security is supposed to keep the performers, fans, and everyone in the venue safe. This was definitely not a safe environment for ANYONE to be in. After my first, AND LAST time here, I will never EVER be coming back to this venue regardless of who the performer is. Basically, security here sucks & the security needs to be replaced. Even if the performers did do something wrong, it gives no right to throw punches, kick people, etc. The performer and fans did not physically fight back at first until the security got physical with the uncalled for attacks. They only fought back to try to help each other and try to keep the performers safe while they were being beat up right in front of their eyes. What I am trying to say is, if you go to this venue you are risking your life. I have heard so many bad reviews otherwise on this place about them not telling girls when a guy puts drugs in their drink and many more reasons on different reviews that I will not get into because I want to stay on this topic. DO NOT GO TO WEBSTER HALL. Horrible venue with horrible people & workers!

Certainly not my favorite venue, but I suppose I can understand the iconic status that this place holds. Book the right artist, and I'll definitely be willing to make a return visit.
As a resident of NYC, via the outer borough of Queens, I suppose I've been putting off my obligation to visit this venue for far too long. After being a denizen of the greater NYC area for the better part of 6 years, I finally rectified my failure to visit this place.

Getting in was a nightmare. Yellow Claw was headlining the night I attended, so my group got in line with the rest of the ratchets (who were all very friendly while we were all in queue). The halal cart wasn't very much appreciated being so close a vicinity to the line... not only was food of any kind a tantalizing prospect at that moment in time... but we all know that the smell of charred BBQ-ed meats is a scent that does a very good job of latching onto one's apparel and hair (which does not make for a very good dance floor scent). Having to endure a number of minutes (20-30) in the midst of wafting meaty smoke was not ideal.

Finally, the line started to move and myself + crew were finally able to hit up the showroom floor. The place was packed, and the crowd was hyped... so the environment and the vibe already evidenced the makings of a good night. I will say that the venue was a lot smaller than I anticipated, and with everyone wanting to get as close to the front as humanly possible, this easily resulted in a sardine can effect, to which one could expect a number of small skirmishes to commence as substance induced tempers flared up. It was with this in mind that my group and I were content to hang to the side and let the ratchets pick each other to pieces (although even the sides had their own fair share of elbows and rudeness occurring... but I suppose that's always to be expected, unfortunately).

The artists that were booked, however, played great sets; the dark classic aesthetics of the showroom added a lot of character to the place, which I happened to appreciate... it was almost jarring. The light show and LED screen did a good enough job of adding enough visual substance to the show (albeit, nothing mind-blowing). The sound was well balanced... as I didn't notice too much bass (it was a trap happy night, so lots of that weird clang-y noise that we all know and love).

Certainly not my favorite venue, but I suppose I can understand the iconic status that this place holds. Book the right artist, and I'll definitely be willing to make a return visit.
