Small, any second- and third-tier city airport in China can kill this in seconds. The customs cheats the Chinese people so badly. They dare to charge 45 US dollars for the 35 US dollars visa fee.

Considered as the most important airport in Cambodia! Phnom Penh International Airport serve as the main gate where many passengers both national and international check in and out every day. It opens everyday from 4:00 AM to 12:00 AM. Inside the airport, there are fast food restaurants, cafes, supermarkets etc. The packing lot is big enough to obtain many cars and motorbikes. The way to airport is usually congested from 6:00 AM to 11:00 AM and from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM, so it is recommended for passengers to go to airport at least one hour and a half before your departure time.

Some of the staff at the airport who worked with my luggage got in the suitcase and stole my gloves and belt. Take care of your luggage, do not keep anything valuable in your check-in baggage, because obviously there is scum on this airport, and apparently no one monitors the staff who remains unpunished and steals as much as I want.

Not much inside the airport. There is a book store I like, expensive duty free chocolates, alcohols, souvenirs and cosmetics (as everywhere), the staff is trying to be helpful, as Cambodians really are lovely people, but it works somehow hard in communication. Toilets are rather clean. There is no big choice of foods, only Asian foods and couple of fast foods, Starbucks, that's all. I wouldnt advice to come here hungry on the way. Its a very small airport, no worries of being super far from your gate at all :) more or less it's clean and fine, not much to do.

Would give one star if possible. Passport control is unorganized and the visa process is a joke. They advertise above the counter that they offer a "transit visa" for people who are changing flights and not leaving the airport, but when it comes time to pay they want double the price for a tourist visa. Other countries don't make people changing flights pay for a visa, let alone at twice the price as advertised ~within~ the airport. On top of that they want you to pay in USD and won't accept card. All the ATMs, if they accept your card, charge a $5 fee. This would be bad enough on it's own but the airport is also full of mosquitoes and has one outlet for every 20 seats. Bring a portable charger, bug spray, American money, and a lot of patience.

When you are getting your visa for the country be careful because there is some serious disorganization! Only $30 for the tourist visa, not too bad and they make it relatively easy to obtain.

Comfortable airport and will improve for sure.. Check in was normal till we stopped to have coffee at Brown Coffee in the Phnom Penh Dining Avenue... Asked for a small coffee not looking at the Menu board... The girl at the counter muttered, we don't have small coffee, only large and muttered something in the local language that got the rest laughing... I told them that etiquette (specially at International airports where they portray their hospitality to the rest of the world ) should be followed and they should speak in English and not make clients feel uncomfortable.... Hopefully in future staff is trained to be more genuine...Leaving Cambodia with lovely memories of the local people we met during our stay in Phnom Penh...

Nice little airport. Everything is very clear and easy to find here. The check-in for the suitcases usually takes place not more than two hours before departure. The personnel is very friendly and courteous. There is also another opportunity to drink or eat here.

When I was done with luggage check, I had to proceed to the second floor. Before escalator I encounter two guys who were checking passports and weighing carryon. When my carryon was weighed, one of the guys pressed down on it, making it overweight. He was trying to get a bribe from me, because I m Cambodian. My husband didnt have to weight his carryon at all, because he isn t Cambodian. That s unacceptable for international airport!

Despite the humid and hot climate, the entrance to the airport building remains open, so it is hot everywhere you go. For those who ride the heat, the paid lounge on the 3rd floor is recommended.

Basic small international airport. Easily to navigate and quick to get through customs on departure and bag screening.
Limited food options.
The food court is better inside than the options in the arrival hall.
All toilets were very clean with toilet paper and Dyson hand dryers.

This airport is quite small but rather modern and overall well organized. The services you expect on the arrival (ATMs, Cell phone providers, driver services) are actually situated on the plaza in front of the entrance and are incredibly well organized (clearly identified areas for each service, official booths for each company, no hassle).
REMARK ABOUT UBER: as of Dec. 1, 2017 they just started operating in the country and apparently their drivers are not allowed on airport grounds. If you want one head just outside of the parking lot on Russian Federation Blvd and it will be much easier. It is worth it though as their prices are currently about half the price of a chartered taxi (about 7 USD instead of 12 for cross town ride).

This airport has slowly undergone great development in the recent years. From a very laid back facade, now it has turned into a more modern building and architecture. Clean restrooms, and now they have provided a lounge for smokers. Duty free shops as well as international food chains are on site. Big open parking space on the rear side of the airport.
