The newly built airport looks nice and clean, there is a money exchange service on the right hand side to check in, if you want to buy a sim, you will be able to buy the sim at the exit. You just need to go outside to sell it, bread, noodles, duck and especially fried noodles are everywhere in Cambodia. Taxis and tuk tuks are available, tuk tuks are cheaper. I ate in Phnom Penh 11km 30,000 Reil!

An airport is a place where airplanes can land or take off. ... The sections between planes and the terminal are called "gates". Airports also have buildings called hangars to hold planes when they are not used. Some airports have buildings to control the airport, like a control tower which tells planes where to go.

Phnom Penh International Airport

Phnom Penh International Airport

Phnom Penh airport's former name was Pochentong International Airport

Phnom Penh International Airport the largest airport in Cambodia containing land area of 400 hectares. It is located 10 kilometres (5.4 NM) west of Phnom Penh, the nation's capital

The airport is much smaller but also clearer than for example the Bangkok airport. If you arrive here you can make a visa on-arrival (if you have not already made the visa). Many advised me to take dollars before matching with but at the airport there are in front of the visa switch 3 machines all at least $ 200 per withdrawal. You do not even have to have a photo, you just pay $ 3 and the photos just take your picture. When we arrived it was not crowded and we were busy filling out the 3 x4 forms longer than visa needed. Then it went through the immigration counter (which were unfortunately very rude here) and you came into a hall that led you out of the airport. In front of the door there was a restaurant a lot of pre-paid telephone service and the taxi stand. But since everything is still under construction, there are probably some stores in the next few years.

Since they have done some construction improvement, the Phnom Penh Airport looks like a proper International Standard Airport. Plenty gates to check in, plenty duty free shops and enough departure gates to board your flight. Improvement is good for the customers, local economy and workers.

Flew in and out of Phnom Penh for a 3 week trip to South East Asia. Inbound travelers are required to pay a $30 USD cash one time entry visa, regardless if you are transferring onto an international flight. I was forced to leave the terminal and pay again for a 4 hour layover, no exceptions. The ATM by customs charges a $5 service fee, so plan ahead and carry cash. Most vendors claimed they couldn't accept credit card payment, however, the Burger King had no issues. The Cambodian people are lovely and would encourage anyone with a sense of adventure to visit, unfortunately the government officials are merciless. "Cambodia is the 161 least corrupt nation out of 175 countries, according to the 2018 Corruption Perceptions Index reported by Transparency International" Had I known about the situation, I would have chosen Bangkok as my entry and departure point for my trip across Asia.

Personally moved with the attentive responses of the immigration staff when I was there with my autistic little brother on 20 December 2018 for a short vacation. Unfortunately, I did not remember the name of the kind-hearted staff who let my little brother to proceed the immigration process first. But in general, all airport staff were super attentive, polite and full of smile. Good job and keep up your good work, Cambodia.

We've traveled in and out of this airport many times with our family of six. We've never really had any issues, and it is nice enough. The food and stuff his little bit expensive just like other airports.

Today I must reduce my review from 5 starts to 1 star - as you see in the photo, the authorities sadly allow many car to park in the "no parking" area and so when my wife and I arrive and she is in a wheelchair the car that pick us up have no place to stop we we must cross into the traffic and parking lot to get into the car. We are very sad about this and hope that it improve very soon so it does not ruin good reputation of Cambodia.

Lovely small modern airport that's well organised.

Don't buy duty free here as it's twice the normal price.

One major drawback: the visa and immigration staff are foul. Amazing for a country that has lovely locals and that wants to grow their tourism industry

A quick baggage delivery on arrival & an excellent coupon system to ensure taxi's dont over charge. The exits gates to leave the airport are being automated/ upgraded causing a jam when leaving.

As stated earlier... 1st impression of a country.

Pay attention here... The customs officers will try to gain a little extra cash in their pockets. Especially if they think you are easily intimidated and new to the place.
This holds true for much of the tourist districts. There is a notion here that many
of the locals see foreigners as auto teller machines with bottomless pockets.
Cheer up though because they never try to get too much out of you because
most Khmers actually have good hearts and this is how many of them make a living.
If you want a bad exit try the land crossing back into Thailand through Poipet!
I'd rather come into Cambodia any day even if it does cost me and extra 5 to 10 dollars.
This holds true for the airport as well. Being only a small airport it doesn't have the features of many international airports (otherwise I'd give it five stars).
Being small you don't get lost and entry and exit is faster.
As previously mentioned... leave the airport car park if you want a cheaper tuk tuk or taxi. However normally the nine dollar set price to riverside isn't rely all that bad.
You can get a tuk tuk to the airport for 5 to 6 dollars outside the airport or on your return. Make sure you have correct US dollars. The same with your entry visa and if you want an open ended return make sure you get the $25 one.

20 o'clock at night. The last local bus at 19:30, just after leaving the airport, can not wait and wait. I also moved to the city by sharing auto-rickshaw with a Western couple who was also waiting for a bus.

While waiting at the bus stop, why not share Aatorikusha with local men who speak Japanese? I was invited, but I refused because I was suspicious. I say that I arrived at Phnom Penh Airport from Japan, but I have no proof, and I refuse to ask if I show my passport stamp. Autriksha has offered half the price of the market, so maybe it was a guru?

If you are wearing a night wear, please be careful.
It is dark in the city. Unbelievable darkness that is the capital.
Suddenly there is a hole in the road.
